- roofview, on 09/30/2008, -9/+36Way to go George, all the real people are coming to or have come to the same conclusion.
- MikeWilson, on 10/01/2008, -6/+24Bush isn't qualified.
You ***** voted him in.
Twice. - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/01/2008, -6/+22She couldn't even name ONE single damn newspaper or magazine she read! She can't see Pravda from her house?
Ask her what toilet paper she uses!... Oh hell, never mind.
She has REALLY hurt near term chances for women to assume VP or Presidential roles.
I guess we shouldn't bitch. One thing we do have to thank her for: she has sealed the old man's political coffin. - thelif, on 10/01/2008, -4/+18VP Debate
Gwen Ifill: Mrs.Palin you have 2 minutes to end this debate.
Sarah Palin: I believe it is important for Senator McCain and I to improve the economy by shoring up jobs and regulation through health care reforms because LIVE FROM NEW YORK IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE! - roxgod666, on 10/01/2008, -1/+12Comment buried for jaycalgary trash
Now you know how huffy feels all the time - AndrewDB, on 10/01/2008, -2/+13You know.. I really love hearing all these conservatives saying Palin isn't qualified, but how many of these conservatives are actually going to vote Obama because of the fact Palin is a "heart-beat away from the presidency" and she "isn't qualified"?
That'd be a pretty interesting statistic to look at. - inactive, on 12/08/2008, -3/+14Wow, I think I just saw a pig with lipstick fly by!
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -2/+12Paulie doesn't order the parts on time, pops gets mad and throws *****, Mikey does something stupid, Paulie barely makes the deadline and someone welds.
Now watch the debate. - workfaster, on 10/01/2008, -1/+10This is exactly my concern. Her latest Couric interview is pretty bad (eg which newspapers do you read answer), but compared to her previous interviews, she looks like a new person. The expectation is now so miserably low that it's nearly impossible for her to disappoint. My only hope is that there are a lot of people who simply haven't followed all of this and still have high expectations based on the RNC Convention.
- RhoVisions, on 10/01/2008, -4/+12Such as... Governor of the 47th most populated state in the nation? Mayor of a town of approximately 5000 people? Passing through 5 schools in 6 years to get a degree? Stop me when I've got your point.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -10/+18Naturally it's great that the pundits on the right are being vocal in their agreement that she's not qualified. Whether or not it should have been said sooner is up for debate. Still it doesn't guarantee that things will change between now and election day. Unless she does the right thing and drop out of the race, we're in for a farce for what should be a serious VP debate given all that's happened recently, to say nothing about more of those Katie Couric interviews/viral video clips that should make every registered voter cringe.
- EtherGnat, on 10/01/2008, -0/+8You can say it, that doesn't make it true. Being qualified is more than just having the requisite number of check marks on your résumé. At a bare minimum you have to show a basic understanding of US and world situations, and some evidence you have given thought to how to address those problems.
You can completely disagree with Obama's politics, but if you're being fair you have to say he at least has a basic understanding of the job, as does McCain. Palin, as soon as she deviates from her prepared scripts, has been a complete and utter disaster.
More and more Republicans are admitting she's a disaster even. Surely you can at least admit she wasn't the best pick. - malex, on 10/01/2008, -2/+9The scary thing is that you probably think that made perfect sense.
- swrostmore, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Will
- objective79, on 10/01/2008, -3/+10Palin has fooled us all into thinking she is dumb so she can get a post debate poll bounce like she did for the GOP convention. EVERYBODY WAKE UP
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/October_Suprise_ ...
I'm playing Paul Revere here. MCCAIN IS COMING, MCAING IS COMING EVERYBODY WAKE UP!!! - quidpro, on 10/01/2008, -6/+13McCain had a terrible week up to the debate, and I was so ready for him to come across like a fumbling mumbling erratic angry knee-jerk weirdo that he actually came off fairly well, relatively. Ok, he still seemed angry.
Palin looks so poor lately I wonder if there is anywhere for her to go but up during the debate. I hope it is as awkward and fun as it could be, of course. - miligo, on 10/01/2008, -5/+11Even George Will knows Mr. Magoo made a huge mistake.
- vampyroteuthis, on 10/01/2008, -8/+14WOW!!!! a Republican who's NOT a mindless, bible-thumping, hypocritical, sheep!!!
George Will..., i'm impressed. - wendelgee2, on 10/01/2008, -0/+6You're too stupid to even know the people on your own team!
- workfaster, on 10/01/2008, -7/+12Can now we safely say that Palin has jumped the shark?
- Dipsomaniac, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5Oh, for Christ's sake.
Go ahead and prove that it's inaccurate. I'm sure we'll wait. - kingofkolt, on 10/01/2008, -5/+10I'm starting to think McCain just picked Palin because he knows that, if he gets elected, NO ONE in their right mind would assassinate him now.
- PhilLesh69, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5ah geez, come on, this is getting about as old as the Fox News viewers who report every story on digg that disagrees with the world view they've been fed, as being inaccurate.
George F. Will, a long time conservative editorialist, and you can't take the time to listen to what he has to say just because Bill O'Reilly and Rush have been telling you Palin is the most qualified VP ever nominated to the ticket? Grow up and think for yourself. If you have the intellectual capacity to do so, that is. - RhoVisions, on 10/01/2008, -1/+6Yes, with his current approval rating, that seem fairly obvious...
/sarcasm - malex, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4It's not inaccurate. George Will has made no attempt to hide his low opinion of Palin, and McCain for choosing her.
I can't tell if you're just trying to change the subject or are literally in a psychological state of denial. - arunforce, on 10/01/2008, -3/+7I need a politician to tell me Palin isn't qualified?
- kingofkolt, on 10/01/2008, -4/+8You just did the equivalent of yelling "Go Yankees!" at Fenway Park.
If nothing else, I admire your ballsiness. - Ebacherville, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4Palin yeah, hell McCain isn't either, He's Bush III and bush really should be thrown out of office for his actions.
- PhilLesh69, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4cognitive dissonance is a bitch. He's trying to reconcile two opposing beliefs, and it is causing him to lash out against the messenger of the belief he likes less.
- wendelgee2, on 10/01/2008, -3/+7Yeah, but this "banter" is from a prominent conservative.
- trafficlight, on 10/01/2008, -1/+5That show is still on? I'm amazed. TrevorX is right on the money.
- mentalfoto, on 10/01/2008, -1/+5Here's a scary thought. What if the night before the VP debate they check Sarah Palin into a Holiday Inn? If they endow this woman with the power of having stayed at a Holiday Inn the night before we are doomed.
- KrustyTClown, on 10/01/2008, -0/+4Do not present facts on digg. Facts are not valued here, only out of contexted coments. You notice people hold on to what he said about Palin. But he said the same of Obama, you posted the truth and you were dugg down.
- mconroy734, on 10/01/2008, -0/+3With flames, don't forget the flames.
- mrsteveman1, on 10/01/2008, -1/+4Did it go through Alaskan airspace?
I think there's someone you should notify.... - Nightenglow, on 10/01/2008, -1/+4shes a ***** moron
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -3/+6Yes, an Troopergate is all part of the plan, too! Along with avoid the press, ignoring subpoenas, and causing voters to vote for Obama TODAY IN OHIO! It's all so clear to me, now!
- wendelgee2, on 10/01/2008, -1/+4The point is...aw ***** it, nevermind. If you don't get it by now, you're a lost cause.
- RhoVisions, on 10/01/2008, -1/+4Show us, on a whole, how McCain is more qualified. Both senators. Both never worked on international affairs through their jobs.
McCain has been around much longer. He has experience. He is also set in his ways.
Obama is much younger. He grew up around common people. He has ideas from what the common people need.
If Obama isn't qualified, no way to call McCain qualified either. We're each just looking for something different in a president. - oblique63, on 10/01/2008, -0/+3racist much?...
- PhilLesh69, on 10/01/2008, -1/+4This is a resurgence of the true right. They are finally speaking out against the neocons who have hijacked the Republican party.
George Will has been making little hints here and there for years about his hatred for the neocons, but it looks like he and a lot of other true conservatives are finally beginning to assert themselves.
I guess the comfort of knowing that Bush and Cheney and their little cabal of neocons are going into history's dustbin in a few more months has emboldened them.
I say it's about time. I've been railing against the neocons since 2002, and I couldn't believe I was only one of a few vocal conservatives who were against these ideologically warped fools all this time. - zephyrnug, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2Did we really need him to tell us that. We figured that out the first day she was in the spotlight.
- kingofkolt, on 10/01/2008, -4/+6Wow!!! A Democrat Digger who's NOT a hyperbolic, stereotype-spewing...
Oh wait, nevermind. - wacked, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2jaycalgary burried for secretly being in the pay of FOX.
- roxgod666, on 10/01/2008, -1/+3Lets hope she doesn't ask for a lifeline this time
- PhilLesh69, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2http://www.truveo.com/Update-Nicholas-Fehn/id/9518 ...
She should be debating the Nicholas Fehn character from Weekend Update.
Watch to the end, he was channeling Palin before she was even nominated. The end of this skit sounds like Palin's answer about the bailout:
COURIC: Why isn't it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
PALIN: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that. - amoirae, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2Which is why she swallows.
- swrostmore, on 10/01/2008, -5/+7"you don't hear the Right whining about it" HAHAHAHAHA you forgot the /s
- RhoVisions, on 10/01/2008, -3/+5Let's not also forget: she has not visited the island from where you can see Russia. Her big claim to foreign relationship experience.
