- blueboy2000, on 09/04/2008, -0/+18And this from a guy whose district is 40 percent black--they may be too spread out to throw this clown out of office, but they're not too spread out to make things a bit difficult for him when he comes back to town on break.
- marabout40, on 09/04/2008, -1/+14Code words be damned. Let's just come right out and say it. Who does that boy think he is? He better know his place...uppity ni****.
/snark
Racist scum like that should not be in public office! Vote his ass out! - qdkk, on 09/04/2008, -0/+11When you see the attendees at the republican convention, the message is very clear (or should that be white?). The irony is that these rich white bastards with their mansions and ranches are calling their opponents "elitists." How ***** hypocritical.
- Obama44thPrez, on 09/04/2008, -1/+11I guarantee that before November 4, someone is going to call Obama the "N" word. Racists bastards!!!!!!
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+10Lest anyone forget, this is the same idiot who was on the Colbert show, saying the 10 commandments need to be displayed. When Colbert asked him to recite the 10 commandments, he couldn't.
Why am I not surprised to find him calling Obama Elitist and Uppity? - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -2/+10Refute with facts or go ***** yourself.
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7Pitiful excuse for a human being!
I hope his words hit him in the face and knocks him down!
Obama/Biden 08! - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+7Queue the "quit being the PC police. This isn't racist at all" folks...
Nice response from the campaign:
“Since Congressman Westmoreland’s never met the Obamas . . . maybe he could spend a couple of days with them, he can get out on the bus with a 10-year-old and a 7-year-old, they can watch TV together,” Gibbs said. “We’d invite Congressman Westmoreland to hit the trail with a real family in America, not just a member Congress.”
Never met them, but DAMN are they uppity! - swrostmore, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5The thing is, Republicans can make any overtly racist statement they want, up to but not including openly referring to Obama as a *****, and the Obama campaign will not respond to it. They are practically begging for him to respond. We've already seen how quickly his opponents publicly decry Obama "playing the race card" at the smallest opportunity, because if his campaign becomes a referendum on race, it is the kiss of death. The public backlash against GOP racism is much less significant than the backlash against "reverse racism" aka the "angry Black candidate" would be, primarily because the GOP's brand of subtle Southern racism is tolerated and expected.
- BishkekBuddy, on 09/04/2008, -0/+5Westmoreland is the one being "uppity" - stupid bastard.
I particularly liked the Obama campaign's response:
"“Sounds like Rep. Westmoreland should be careful throwing stones from his candidate's eight glass houses,” said Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor." - Arishia, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3Oh, yeah, like Barack hasn't had to face anything like that before. Don't they have anything new to offer? Uppity? That is going to appeal to the blue collar voters? That is so last century, and will only resonate with rich guys.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -2/+5I missed your comment PolishLogic. The "there isn't anything racist here" comment came faster than I expected:
"Vanessa Beasley, who teaches political rhetoric at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, said “uppity” is a word that hits the ear of African-Americans in a negative way — evoking images of the pre-civil rights era, when powerful whites sometimes punished blacks who spoke up for themselves.
“It has very clear roots in the history of slavery in the South,” Beasley said. “The term ‘uppity’ has such a specific, contextual historic meaning. It is more evocative of a particular moment in history and particular set of fears that exist today within certain parts of the electorate"
Now, WHERE is this congressman from? Oh yeah, the south, where this term is VERY well known. Pretend it is nothing. That tells me a lot about you. - whoreable, on 09/04/2008, -0/+1People call him that all the time. I guess you mean in the media. In any case, I agree with you and anticipate seeing somebody committing career suicide.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -2/+2Nice one Dugg, spoken like a typical troll.
At least you spelled polack right this time. ***** dummy. You owe me one for pointing it out. - inactive, on 09/05/2008, -1/+1The only difference between this clown and John McCain is this clown actually says what he means. John McCain and his flunky Sarah Palin will mock inner city communities, those that live in the inner city, and those who want to help people in the inner city, but will never come out and openly admit that they don't give a damn about anybody who doesn't have the same color skin. At least this guy is willing to be honest about the Republican agenda.
- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -2/+1Typical dumb Polack.
- whoreable, on 09/04/2008, -2/+1Obama seems great, in that he can actually speak intelligently in response to questions without reading from a prompter. He is very refreshing in light of our current president/asshat. The only problem is that I still can't figure out if he is the giant douche or the turd sandwich.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -6/+3@ssn697
Oh, give me a ***** break. Save your "tells me a lot about you" babble for the playground. Something tells me you love to cry racism every chance you get. Regardless of if it even exists. - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -8/+3uppity: affecting an attitude of inflated self-esteem; haughty; snobbish.
Properly used in this sentence it would seem:"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity,"
Obama certainly comes off that way in my opinion. So I'd say it's a fair assessment. Take your "racial connotations" and shove them up your uppity ass. If he called Obama an "uppity *****", then yes, he'd be a racist *****.
It's called context, dummy. But that's ok, keep digging me down because you chose to actively seek out racism in everything, regardless of if it's there or not. - inactive, on 09/04/2008, -15/+4Grasping at straws with this submission, huh?

What is Digg?
