- ezrastiles, on 08/16/2008, -17/+156Why are there so many worthless tools in the Republican Party? I'm not for Ron Paul, but at least his supporters have convictions and know what they stand for and why.
But Republicans like this guy Feehery are just total hacks. The GOP needs to clean house. - jedreport, on 08/16/2008, -9/+75(a) I am not paid by George Soros or anyone else.
(b) You did not watch the video because it was JOHN MCCAIN who proposed this course of action, you stupid ***** idiot. - marike, on 08/16/2008, -4/+23On a side note, McCain's speech reading chops are just awful. Even candidate who are not good at reading in public know enough to read a sentence and make eye contact with the audience. This guy is glued to the page and every once in awhile, he "comes up for air with an obligatory look at the audience. Just awful form. In his defense, he's only been a politician for 100 years. He'll get better at it.
- kingofinternet, on 08/16/2008, -6/+22falling back on ad hominem attacks so soon?
- 16x9, on 08/16/2008, -3/+18There are people in EVERY political party who feel that it is acceptable, even laudable, to tell any lie or distort any truth provided that it pushes forward the agenda of the party.
The problem many of us have, no doubt including many Republicans, is that these morally misguided people seem to have taken over the reins of the Republican party.
I think decent Republicans (whom are the majority, even if not in control) are questioning the tactics of people like John Feehery. Not simply because of what it says about their party but also because of what it has been saying about them as individuals. - palehorse864, on 08/16/2008, -1/+16Not sure about Obama's positions, but if the guy attacked Obama for having hte position and mccain had it too, shouldn't the title read ""... tries to attack Obama, but slams McCain too"
Instead implies he hit the wrong target while not hitting the intended. Too would mean he attacked the target he intended but attacked the guy he is rooting for as well. - USArugula, on 08/16/2008, -4/+19Befriended.
- vat0r, on 08/16/2008, -2/+16I like how you disassociated yourself from Ron Paul before giving him and his supporters some credit. That's what is called digg jedi mojo © :)
- acevoncash, on 08/17/2008, -1/+14I can't believe you are getting dug up. Did you pass high school english? Just because they support someone or lean one way doesn't mean they are affiliated, dumbass. I'm voting obama but I'm not affiliated with him or his campaign. Look it up in a dictionary.
- gcsmit6, on 08/16/2008, -3/+15Amen
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/16/2008, -5/+17Most people support Ron Paul because he tells the truth. That simple little thing that kids learn in kindergarten.
- Meekus, on 08/17/2008, -1/+12You can thank Bill Kristol and his neocon followers for that one. neocons != Republicans.
I'm a Republican because I believe in the ideals of a Republic. Maximum freedom for the individual. Civil liberties, free market, etc. Not this foreign policy of nonstop intervention, central economic planning, socialization of personal debt, no alarm at loss of civil liberties...... bleh. Our founders would be ashamed at what we have allowed happen to our country. - funkyloki, on 08/16/2008, -1/+12@Ridgeliner7: And you still didn't correct the fact that McCain was also pushing for the resolution. No, instead of attempting to defend your position, you resort to attacking the messengers. NoDrama took you on over what you said being factually incorrect, and you attack his past comments, rather than attempt to explain how he is incorrect.
And as far as JedReport receiving funding from Soros, put up or STFU. Why don't you do the digging you say there is so little of and show us proof that there is a connection between Soros and Jed? Because you made the statement, the ball is in your court to prove it.
But you'll probably just attack me next, instead of rising to the challenge. I would expect no more. - MasterTroll, on 08/16/2008, -2/+12At first glance, I thought the GOP was trying to hack Obama. 1337.
- NoDrama, on 08/16/2008, -9/+18Trouble with the concept of international diplomacy, Ridgeline? It's not a black and white, if you can't succeed don't do it sort of exercise, you apply pressure both publicly and behind the scenes. Security Council votes are part of the process, they help shape public opinion, in this case by reinforcing that the other member nations are all opposed to Russia's actions.
Tell ya what, pal. There's no point in your breathing, because ultimately you're going to stop some day anyway. Apply your so-called logic to THAT. - pintomp3, on 08/16/2008, -5/+14perhaps they should write "fair and balanced" instead.
- Loonacy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+8It's okay when McCain does it, because he was a PoW.
- Charun, on 08/16/2008, -0/+8There are reply buttons for just this type of situation.
- throop77, on 08/16/2008, -2/+10Democrats & Republicans speak differently, but their actions are largely the same. Both love big goverment (Department of Homeland Security (R) / Regulations (D) / etc), but love socialism (socialized losses on wallstreet (R) / welfare (D) / etc.)
- xerigen, on 08/17/2008, -1/+9@Ebonsteel
Keep thinking the democrats support civil liberties, free market, a humble foreign policy, etc. Fact is, neither democrats nor republicans do. - atdigg, on 08/16/2008, -6/+14Republican strategy: fling *****, see if it sticks... who of the rednecks who get their news from FOX News will hear that McCain has the same position?
- Mononuclear, on 08/16/2008, -2/+9Did you watch the video? McCain is the one who suggested going through with UN security council even with threats of veto from Russia.
- deathsquadx, on 08/17/2008, -2/+9I love the right-wing ***** on Digg! You make me laugh every time.
- NuttyVirus, on 08/16/2008, -16/+23Am i the only one that thinks McCain is going to win no matter what the outcome is? and no I am not voting for him.
- sirbeta, on 08/16/2008, -3/+10That's not really the point of this article though. How can you insult someone else for making the same call the person you're supporting did?
- enantiodromia, on 08/16/2008, -1/+7Pretty soon Ridgeliner7 will "prove" Zionist Lizard Men funnel money from their Bilderberger fund raisers into your PayPal account.
- enantiodromia, on 08/16/2008, -2/+8If that was a freshman mistake, then why is McCain making it as well?
- wafla, on 08/16/2008, -2/+8Hey, I grew up with senator McCain and he's actually as bad as everybody says. Try to find an Arizona republican who genuinely likes him.
- malex, on 08/16/2008, -2/+8Realize that both sides of America's political spectrum can agree on certain policy points? That even the leaders of both major parties can find common ground rather than just kneejerkingly disagreeing with any statement the other side makes?
We already know that. It seems to be hacks and partisans like Feehery, and perhaps you, who have trouble with the concept. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -3/+9Why is the US so anti-Russia when Ossetians themselves say that Georgia's the aggressor?
- Ebonsteel, on 08/17/2008, -2/+7In other words, you're a Democrat but haven't admitted it to yourself yet.
That's okay. We welcome you. :) - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -4/+9Perhaps @wafla can remember who voted for FISA and telecom immunity. Hint: Obama and Democrats. OH no I said it. THe forbidden subject! noooo please don't digg me down. I didn't mean to speak facts.
- thomas, on 08/16/2008, -7/+12The point is they both have the same opinion on this one issue and this hack it trying to attack Obama for it while saying McCain is doing the right thing.
- enantiodromia, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5You forgot Poland.
- deathsquadx, on 08/17/2008, -0/+5Go rent Red Dawn, it will explain everything.
WOLVERINES!!!! - mgraham80, on 08/17/2008, -1/+6Next time, watch the video before you comment, moran. Your post is utterly irrelevant.
- FlaG8r, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5I don't know that the people of Sarajevo feel that way.
It is a joke that certain powers get veto power that can't be overridden however. - Abomonog, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4I get that feeling too, but only because I expect a totally rigged election this year. The election fraud that happens this time is going to make the last 2 elections look small time.
- malex, on 08/16/2008, -2/+6Who exactly is pro-Putin?
- thomas, on 08/16/2008, -1/+5No, all this proves is that guy is hack who doesn't know what he is talking about.
- TheLoneHoot, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4Then the only thing you have in common with the Republican party is what is printed on your voter registration card. Period.
- TokenBlack, on 08/16/2008, -1/+5The war was Georgia's fault buddy
- mikemx7f, on 08/16/2008, -1/+5Someone saying that someone is using ad hominem attacks is an ad hominem attack?
What definition of ad hominem attack are you using? - Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -3/+7Nice post, but I think the Obama people won't read it and simply call you a racist or some other derogatory name for criticizing their messiah.
- liquisoft, on 08/17/2008, -2/+6People with political opinions should always check their facts. There's nothing worse than somebody with a big mouth and utter ignorance about that which they speak.
- brettmurf, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4I had this conversation with my "Republican" friend. He knows next to nothing about the candidates, and our beliefs were similar in basis. Unfortunately, he learned what being a "Republican" meant many years ago, and is voting because of that, despite obvious digression on the party's part in recent history. I like Obama less and less all the time, but god damn, how can anyone vote McCain.
- CK20XX, on 08/16/2008, -1/+4And the moral of the story is: friendly fire isn't.
- SquigglyP, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3surprised no one has done the facepalm ascii yet.
- malex, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3Sorry. Still don't know who akchrs is referring to.
