- holychicken, on 09/09/2009, -13/+695The only time it bothers me that a politician is boinking somebody other than their spouse is when they are a hypocritical "traditional values/marriage" idiot.
Well, it doesn't bother me, it brings me great joy knowing how hard they are going to fall. - PseudoThink, on 09/09/2009, -8/+349Just another conservative politician with a liberal penis. (cred: Jon Stewart)
- HaSatan, on 09/09/2009, -16/+334Hes not a hypocrite if the traditional value he is upholding is the one about banging younger, hotter women.
- pintomp3, on 09/09/2009, -8/+296He's just defending the sanctity of marriage.
- CSFFlame, on 09/09/2009, -3/+249sleeping with a lobbyist, I wonder if that could wind up with "bribery" charges against the energy lobby =/
- nffcnnr, on 09/09/2009, -12/+240Heh.
- secrity, on 09/09/2009, -4/+185The ***** hypocrite ruined his own life. I have zero sympathy for him.
- freq, on 09/09/2009, -2/+181Obviously not a real conservative. Where is all the hot gay sex?
- awinters, on 09/09/2009, -1/+168No one is suggesting that this isn't a problem of both parties. The issue here is that this man is yet another who, in his public life, speaks out and support legislation for "traditional family values." He condemns homosexuality, unmarried cohabitation and other things he says is an affront to God's wants and marriage. It is important that people know he is doing this.
- Mujokan, on 09/09/2009, -0/+152How about when the vice chair of the Committee on Utilities and Commerce is bonking a lobbyist for an energy company?
- tidu, on 09/09/2009, -4/+127do we really expect anything different from these guys?
“do as i say, not as i do” - secrity, on 09/09/2009, -3/+107Not only is the ***** a hypocrite, he also has some major conflict of interest problems: His mistress is a lobbyist for Sempra Energy and he is vice-chair of the Utilities and Commerce committee.
- Dustin00, on 09/09/2009, -4/+103With a woman??? I'm not sure I believe this.
Are we sure she isn't a tranny? - pak314, on 09/09/2009, -7/+103It is really between them and their wife how to deal with it. Like other original poster, it is the hypocrisy that is a problem with me.
- NightCamus, on 09/09/2009, -8/+103"Family values" are a joke, and are basically just a contrived reactionary refutation of "Hollywood values" and implicit liberal decadence. What do "family values" even mean, outside of personal interpretation? How can you rally around something so relative?
- DigitalOmnivore, on 09/09/2009, -4/+91The Digg comments are mostly obsessed over the fact that he's a Repubican and he cheated on his wife.
You guys should pay attention to the fact that the !#$! energy companies basically have a hired WHORE ***** a representative which surely influences his voting.
Even the TV station talks about how the guy was a "family values Republican". Yes, I understand that he's a hypocrite, like so many politicians but that is minor compared to the fact that he's being bribed with a WHORE from a private company. Wake up, forget the culture war *****, pay attention to the fact that your country is being LOOTED by crooks. - theaceoffire, on 09/09/2009, -1/+85I hate it when a politician cheats on his wife while telling everyone that homosexuality is wrong and that it will ruin marriage.
- mikaboogerbutt, on 09/09/2009, -7/+89Gotta love ultra-conservative Orange County, who have they brought us just this summer? Orly Taitz in South OC and Irvine? The HoR who was trying to draft legislation to require Presidents' birth certificates? Stay classy OC!
- aesur, on 09/09/2009, -2/+83well, it is a traditional value.
- EthylAdded, on 09/09/2009, -5/+85The best part of being a social conservative is that no matter how much you sin, Jesus Christ and his followers are there to forgive you.
- Mujokan, on 09/09/2009, -1/+77"Throughout the day yesterday, Duvall evaded reporters' efforts to talk to him about his comments, fleeing several times down the Capitol's corridors."
Heh heh. - oldhick, on 09/09/2009, -24/+96So it doesn't bother you that they lie to their wife and family? On what basis do you then trust them to be honest with people they don't, like their constituents? On what basis do you trust them to act in the best interest of the country if they can't even act in the best interest of their family?
But I am with you on the GOP hypocrisy part of it. That just makes it even sadder. - inactive, on 09/09/2009, -4/+74You, sir, are a grade A *****. The big, bad, meanies in the media will now ruin this poor, poor, philandering *****'s life. Whaaaaa!!!! Are you for real, moron?
- deathandtaverns, on 09/09/2009, -13/+80A guy cheating on his wife doesn't necessarily make him a bad legislator. If he's a republican all the left can do is call him a hypocrite, and if he's a Democrat the right gets to bang their family values drum. Wherever my congressman puts his penis is none of my business. That said, if he's giving it to a lobbyist, it kind of blurs the lines between personal and professional. Cheating on his wife and accidentally talking about the dirty sex he had over a hot mic isn't the story here, being in bed with special interests is.
- inactive, on 09/09/2009, -9/+72There's a big difference between lying about a blow job and lying about bombs.
- Rudegar, on 09/09/2009, -1/+60people like that never run for office
- driftwoodtex, on 09/09/2009, -1/+58"Our federal government is corrupt beyond repair."
Very likely true, but in this case it is the state government. - Demener, on 09/09/2009, -3/+60Well in this case he deserves it.
- banderwocky, on 09/09/2009, -4/+60Oh hilarious. My god, is the whole political system is a joke.
- mlmorg, on 09/09/2009, -9/+64stay classy GOP!
- atomheartmother, on 09/09/2009, -3/+57Never trust a man with evangelistic hair.
- koolandthegang, on 09/09/2009, -32/+84Another a-hole who doesn't represent my personal family values ... he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. He needs to be replaced with someone who truly supports my values, not one who exploits me ... what a disgrace. Conservatives need REAL representatives, not phonies like this.
- PhilliesBlunt, on 09/09/2009, -4/+56Democrats didn't forget that. You do realize that Edwards didn't win the nomination and his career as a major player is over with as a result, and rightly so. OTOH, I never heard Edwards going on and on about the sanctity of marriage, moral values, and all that other hypocritical nonsense like this guy.
- pintocat, on 09/09/2009, -0/+50Actually it's quite impressive for a rabidly anti-gay Republican's sex scandal to be with a female.
- Haramus, on 09/09/2009, -4/+53So who cleans up all that drippage?
- protogenxl, on 09/09/2009, -9/+57[Applause]
- RentalCanoe, on 09/09/2009, -4/+50Waaaahhh. "I cheated on my wife and f**ked the sh*t out of a married woman and now it's the media's fault!"
- chejrw, on 09/09/2009, -1/+45Should anyone be surprised by this?
- JigoroKano, on 09/09/2009, -1/+45It bothers me much more that he's banging a lobbyist.
That's a hair short of treason as far as I'm concerned. - buckrogers1965, on 09/09/2009, -1/+43I hate to tell you this, but anyone that claims superior family values does not have them.
- mc88, on 09/09/2009, -10/+51Exactly. Cheating on his wife is on him, but screwing lobbyists is on us. Our federal government is corrupt beyond repair.
- bamatime, on 09/09/2009, -1/+42true. shouldn't this guy be sucking a *****?
- Altotus, on 09/09/2009, -0/+41In this case, it's also pertinent that he's on an energy committee and at least one of the women he's repeatedly committing adultery with (in itself a tort) is a woman lobbying him on behalf of an energy company. If he hasn't recused himself from the committee, then he's probably just been caught committing a breach of ethics, if not an outright felony.
- Probatus, on 09/09/2009, -4/+45The point is this guy is touting Family Values as his cause.
- Mujokan, on 09/09/2009, -4/+45I'm waiting for one of these guys to do a Berlusconi and say "you're all just jealous of my virility". I don't think anyone is buying the tactic of "returning to Jesus" anymore.
- WasabiBomb, on 09/09/2009, -1/+41There's certainly nothing I value higher.
- AngryDeuce, on 09/09/2009, -5/+45Way to go!!
For the record, I honestly could care less if a rep is ***** around on his wife, it's between him and his wife honestly, and shouldn't be a matter of public discourse.
Unless, of course, said person very vocally espouses family values and then acts in direct opposition to them. Then I say, let the good times roll. It's just good comedy! - Manther, on 09/09/2009, -2/+41Did Bill Clinton claim that Homosexuality would ruin the sanctity of marriage?? Did he pretend to have a spotless record when it came to his marriage before his 'scandal' was uncovered?
To my knowledge, he never tried to tell anyone that what they were doing would ruin a marriage, because that would have been hypocritical. Sleazy he may have been, but a two faced hypocrite, about sexual scandals, he was not. - RentalCanoe, on 09/09/2009, -4/+42I forgot the part where John Edwards campaigned on "traditional family values," and fought against gay marriage. Maybe you can point it out.
- dalittle, on 09/09/2009, -1/+39Rep Michael Duvall (R) condemns people for their personal life and their inability to live a perfect life like him (which his slip shows is a big lie). Big difference and why it is important when people like Duvall do it.
