- apastafarian, on 11/11/2008, -3/+93FTA- "It is unclear what services, if any, a construction company could provide to a US Congressional campaign."
Clearly, they are involved in the building and expansion of Congressman Miller"s bank account. - Dereliction, on 11/12/2008, -0/+68According to CREW, mentioned in the article, the top 22 most corrupt Congressmen are (including Gary Miller, naturally):

- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -6/+45Raise your hand if you didn't need to be told this guy was a Republican.
- ObamaWins08, on 11/12/2008, -1/+38Clearly, he thought he was trying to demonstrate the best tenets of the bailout to his home state by showing how it works with his own company.

- Bartboy919, on 11/12/2008, -3/+34You know, Republican politicians are bad in and of themselves, but I somehow knew it was an Orange County one.
These OC congressmen are litteraly at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to politicians. It makes me sick. How do I know these OC congressmen are the worst? Cause One of them represents my district.

I am just happy that he hasn't secured his seat this election cycle (currently 51-49 with quite a few ballots uncounted, more info here: http://www.swingstateproject.com/showDiary.do?diar ... ), which is surprising, but a welcome change. - inactive, on 11/12/2008, -3/+33A politician engaging in corruption? Absolutely shocking!
- toetagger, on 11/12/2008, -0/+3020 out of 24 are GOP. That's a 5 to 1 ratio.
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -5/+34And the GOP wonders why they keep losing elections, losing support, and dropping like flies. It isn't because the Democrats are that good, it is because the GOP is that bad.
- livefree12, on 11/11/2008, -2/+28= It's okay if you're a republican
remember all that ***** that they tried to impeach and remove Clinton - ccL1, on 11/12/2008, -2/+25*YAWN* I used to be shocked by this kind of stuff. Now it just seems so normal.
- gaqua, on 11/12/2008, -0/+22Barackalypse, first things first. Hard to take you seriously with that name.
Secondly, the only republicans on that list are clearly either obviously corrupt guys (Larry Craig? Scooter Libby?) or two GOP candidates for President that couldn't possibly win (Giuliani because's he's a cross-dressing New Yorker who loves torture and abortion, and Huckabee because he makes Bush look like an Atheist and nobody can say President Huckabee without rolling their eyes in sorrow).
The list is pretty Partisan, and some of the things it has on Obama and Clinton are petty and stupid, for example. Obama's Rezko connection was studied over and over again and brought up a number of times for the past 2 years - nothing stuck because there was no wrongdoing or law broken. The other thing they've got on him is "using his senate office to conduct campaign business" which has to be done by just about every member of the senate or house of reps at some time or another. Seriously, if you're going to tell me that other senators and representatives don't call their campaign managers or email them or meet them in their offices from time to time, you'd be a huge liar.
Also - If Judicial Watch is who I think they are, they're a pretty conservative organization - they claimed the Terry Schiavo thing was murder if I remember right. - rowjimmy, on 11/12/2008, -0/+22he definitely did it for the lulz.
oh, and the $45k. - WiseWeasel, on 11/12/2008, -0/+22Don't let that stop you from demanding blood...
- Murdats, on 11/12/2008, -2/+24that may be but the republicans seem well overrepresented in these cases.
just because the other side does it doesn't mean they do it in equal amounts, and every time a story like this hits there is a always a comment saying "well all politicians are corrupt" when I rarely see stories like this about non-republicans - MCA2142, on 11/12/2008, -4/+25GOP...
Every GOP sex scandal is gay. (Nothing wrong with homosexuality IMO. But Infidelity is another story)
Every other scandal is about self interest money whoring.
Both acts their so called god wouldn't look too kindly on. And they claim God is on their party.
What went wrong here? - amoirae, on 11/12/2008, -0/+17That we know of...
- richmomz, on 11/12/2008, -6/+21Big deal the banks just helped themselves to $2 trillion through the Federal Reserve. The use of taxpayer money to fund private business interests (often without any form of accountability or authority) is becoming the status quo.
- cmp1966, on 11/12/2008, -1/+16I think it's way past time to start demanding some measure of integrity and honor in our elected officials and all the people upon we are forced to depend on for truth. Just because this kind of behavior has become common and "normal" does not mean it has become acceptable.
- wonderchemist, on 11/12/2008, -2/+15Hey at least he didn't build a men's room glory hole with that construction company of his!
- cowboy86, on 11/12/2008, -1/+14Big deal. John McCain had people going out saying they were "volunteering" when they were actually getting paid. Then when they told this to a reporter, the campaign threatened to have the reporter arrested.

Typical Troll. - Zenham, on 11/12/2008, -0/+13Pity that JudicialWatch is openly highly conservative, as well. Makes them pretty hard to believe as a an honest source.
Oh wait, they've never been honest. - DirtyVicar, on 11/12/2008, -2/+15For shame... I thought these Republican legislators were transparent and open about their corruption.
- adamsteinbaugh, on 11/12/2008, -0/+12I don't know which is worse: that my congressman is this corrupt, or that the Democratic challenger was so weak that Miller could AFFORD to pour $45k of his campaign funds into his construction company.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 11/12/2008, -0/+12Wow, is this guy an utter scumbag.
- steamypoop, on 11/12/2008, -2/+13I joined the GOP as soon as I was old enough to register to vote and that was over 13 years ago. It's been a loooooong 13 years.
It's time to change my party registration, methinks. - BridgeBurner, on 11/12/2008, -1/+11So goes politics behind the Orange Curtain.
- Rufunki, on 11/12/2008, -0/+9He was giving his company it's own stimulus package.
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -0/+9By your definition of the situation, Ulysses S. Grant and Richard Nixon should have remained in office.
We have to hold our elected officials responsible for their actions. If you want everything done for you comrade - build a time machine, go back 30-40 years, and join the Soviet Union. - minorthreat, on 11/12/2008, -0/+9Except for the democrat in Lousiana, Pretty much all corruption stories stem from republicans. Either they are just corrupt or the dems are better at hiding it.
- zenbud, on 11/12/2008, -1/+10Barack Obama Never Organized with ACORN
Discredited Republican voter-suppression guru Ken Blackwell is attacking Barack Obama with naked lies about his supposed connection to ACORN.
• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
• Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
• Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.
In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called “Motor Voter,” Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995. (For more about Barack’s career, check out our Obama bio.)
Ken Blackwell is best known today for disenfranchising Democratic voters in his dual role as Ohio Secretary of State and chair of George Bush’s Ohio campaign in 2004. To see him shed crocodile tears for the integrity of the vote while making accusations about Barack and ACORN with absolutely no basis in fact is disturbing.
Blackwell’s attacks against ACORN and community organizers continue a vile Republican pattern of mockery and viciousness against this noble profession. Community organizers are the very individuals Republicans should be celebrating for helping people to help themselves rather than depending on the government. - darkz77, on 11/12/2008, -0/+9what gets to me is corrupt politicians dont care to even hide it anymore.
the loyal sheep will keep voting them in regardless
ITS ALLLLLL GOOOOOD - GregFD3S, on 11/12/2008, -1/+10I need about tree fitty.

- TalentedMoron, on 11/12/2008, -0/+8Why am I not surprised ?
- maxjames007, on 11/12/2008, -0/+8wow. Some money moving around.
J - Wryly, on 11/12/2008, -0/+7I'm shocked! Shocked that there is chicanery going on here!
- Murdats, on 11/12/2008, -1/+8but that ratio is ok because all politicians are corrupt right? don't pick on the republicans, I am going to assume its equal on both sides.
sarcasm aside even if that was true and all politicians were equally corrupt, does that not mean then that the republicans just suck at covering it up as well? they are either more corrupt or more incompetent, neither is a good thing. - zenbud, on 11/12/2008, -1/+8Oh yeah, those redumlicans who attended grandpa and failin's rallies were all ivy leaguers . . . gees. You do realize the 'red' part of your party is in the deep south. Great colleges down there . . oh wait.
