- chrismwood, on 07/17/2009, -18/+218Perfectly reasonable. If solving an argument using intelligence and diplomacy are too hard, just start shooting. Seems to have worked well so far.
/s - eMximeR, on 07/17/2009, -15/+155You'd think Obama really was a communist or something the way these people go nuts
- Diefree, on 07/17/2009, -16/+123These nuts should remember part of the armed forces swearing statement is "defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and -domestic-" So let them try and see which side the army, navy, and air force chooses. These people don't care about the will of the people, just getting their racism and ideology forced on all of us.
- holesome, on 07/17/2009, -14/+103Wow, I completely understand not always agreeing with a President's decisions, but this seems to go well beyond disagreement - and approaches a lot of not-so-savory actions that can't be called dissent even in the most charitable light.
- IrishJoe, on 07/17/2009, -11/+99And if the will of the people goes against her she wants her supporters to come out shooting. So if she doesn't win the democratic way she wants to go against the will of the people and kill those in her way. I agree this is a prevalent view among Right-Wingers, but it doesn't make it right.
- ftc08, on 07/18/2009, -7/+93Worse... He's black.
- fiatjustitia, on 07/17/2009, -15/+91The right wing is getting more extreme each passing day. I have a terrible feeling that these wing nuts are going to try something.
And to all of you wing-nuts fantasizing about your "conservative revolution": Mulder and Scully are working overtime, and before you know it, you'll see the inside of a federal prison for perpetuating violence. - ThsGuyRightHere, on 07/17/2009, -8/+82Crabill doesn't seem to understand that the saying about soap boxes, ballot boxes, and ammo crates implies that the government enitity in place ignores the will of the people as expressed at the ballot box.
So I guess in her world the minority should exert their will over the majority through brute force. Last I checked that's called "tyranny". - Rotzooi, on 07/17/2009, -12/+70Imagine: there is a civil war and the US is split in two countries, one run by the Republicans and one by the Democrats. Where would you choose to live?
Ah well, Republicans mostly live in the crappy states anyway, as long as they stay there I don't really care. - youliveinfear, on 07/17/2009, -12/+59but but..teabaggers always told me that the tea parties were non-partisan
- Maddoktor2, on 07/17/2009, -9/+55And that makes it ok, right?
Wow, Republicans really are that ***** stupid... - homercles337, on 07/18/2009, -1/+47You'd think Obama really was a *liberal* or something the way these people go nuts.
Better yet, You'd think Obama really was *left-leaning* or something the way these people go nuts. - Maddoktor2, on 07/17/2009, -10/+54Better start getting those FEMA Concentration Camps ready - looks like the wingnuts will be moving in after the November elections.
- fiatjustitia, on 07/17/2009, -9/+52http://www.*****.com/
- ironhide, on 07/17/2009, -6/+45Alan, her speech and this discussion has nothing to do with the ownership of guns, it's the fact that she's advocating violence if things don't go her way at the ballot box.
That's not the way we do things in this country.
No offense, but it looks like your post was an attempt to muddy the waters.
As far as Phelps being a democrat...
http://www.qrd.org/qrd/media/radio/thiswayout/summ ...
I....don't....think....so. - inactive, on 07/17/2009, -7/+45Since when is Fred Phelps a democrat? And the reason fox news is popular is because idiots like you need to get your stupid viewpoints reassured every 15 minutes.
- Calcularius, on 07/18/2009, -7/+40We can always arrest them all and execute them for treason. They're all for the death penalty, right?
- pintomp3, on 07/18/2009, -1/+32Relative to most of the world, Obama is center-right. It's just that the neo-cons and religious fundamentalists in the states make him look leftist by comparison.
- ftc08, on 07/18/2009, -1/+30It matters because that's what's fueling a lot of the blind hate of the man. A lot of people don't pay a shred of attention to the real news, and violently hate him for some reason. ...some reason...
*****, your reasons are *legitimate* reasons for not liking him. I don't agree wholeheartedly, but it's a thousand times more reason than most of the dissent has. - rocknog, on 07/18/2009, -2/+30Let's see... Obama opposes gay marriage, opposes the legalization of marijuana, opposes a definite plan for pulling out of Iraq, supports domestic spying, opposes government transparency... I mean, aside from his support of increased government spending (which Bush also supported), I'd be incredibly hard-pressed to find any evidence whatsoever that he is remotely liberal.
- twohoundogs, on 07/18/2009, -3/+31"Eh, the Second Amendment was mostly thrown in there so folks countryside could pick off fugitive Lobsterbacks on the lam, and grizzly bears, and French fur traders."
No it wasn't, people really need to ***** study what was actually said during the process of implementing the Bill Of Rights. It was damn near to the point were you would have to own a gun not just have the right to. - inactive, on 07/17/2009, -3/+31Democrats will also bring the full force of the United States military. You do know who the Commander-in-Chief is, right?
- OkamiImako, on 07/17/2009, -5/+32Perhaps you have not heard: anyone who the Fox News Right disagrees with is automatically labeled a Democrat. Mark Foley, Mark Sanford, and apparently Fred Phelps as well.
also: "Progressive fascist news is not news."
Oh yes, we all know how progressive those damned fascists were. Damn those open-minded, free-thinking, compassionate fascists to hell. - 80hd, on 07/18/2009, -10/+37Tyranny:
The office, authority, or jurisdiction of an absolute ruler.
..Last time I checked, tyrants aren't elected, they steal power. So either complain about the election being rigged (last I checked the margins were fair and beyond the reach of tamper) or stfu and take your place as a minority sect. - kanojo1969, on 07/18/2009, -1/+28This is just the next logical step in the self-victimisation of the right. One of their defining features is to paint themselves as the victim,no matter how divorced from reality that view is.
It' is difficult to believe, that this group, most often represented by wealthy, white, men, the ones who run businesses, control the financial markets, and generally dominate every part of society where there is money to be made, consider themselves victims but it's true.
And since Obama has been in power this has been their dominant way of presenting themselves; victims of the coming communist purge, victims of healthcare reform, victims of a new minority supreme court judge.
It's exactly the same as Israel always taking the position of victim, portraying themselves as being terrorised by the evil palestinians, when they are the most powerful country in the region by a huge margin.
So, for the wingnuts here in the US, once they play the victim card enough times, it becomes completely logical that eventually you will take up arms in a violent struggle for your rights.
Even though, to us, these people are still in power, they still control all the money and own all the nice real-estate; they still have their billions of bailout dollars being used to fund lobbyists to make sure they get what they want; even thought they still have all that, they have been playing the victim for so long now that they actually believe it.
And if a group of people believe they are being persecuted, it's inevitable that some of them will eventually decide to 'make a stand for what's right'.
it's a type of conservative behaviour that hasn't been seen in the US before, and I really don't know how far they are capable of going. - ThsGuyRightHere, on 07/17/2009, -7/+31Well of course. They're right, remember?
/s - xexx, on 07/18/2009, -4/+28It happens when you start illegally invading countries based on lies.
- HEAVYisSPY, on 07/18/2009, -4/+27I'd say, yes, the government is expanding in the economic sector - and yes - that is a goal of fiscal authoritarians like communists...but the degree is what matters here, and this kind of thing is getting blown out of proportion. His tax plan calls for lower taxes than under Reagan (unless that's since been revised).
As for spending, it's clearly unsustainable - and it has me deeply concerned: throwing more debt on the pile. - Chaotyk, on 07/18/2009, -3/+26VIOLENCE CLEARLY SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS.
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -2/+24What this reveals to me is that they really think their enemy is some black guy in Washington, not the vast majority of American voters.
That tells me just how disconnected they are. - inactive, on 07/17/2009, -7/+29I think racism probably IS non-partisan.
- AgeofMastery, on 07/17/2009, -5/+26And all that spew has what to do with her suggesting violence if the election doesn't go her way? Here's a clue for you Alan, it's folks like her that turn people against gun ownership, they help reinforce the myth that gun owner = gun nut.
- mrsteveman1, on 07/18/2009, -3/+24No one has nationalized the auto companies, those ***** companies FAILED and were bailed out, they weren't just taken over.
Ford wasn't even touched, and Honda, Toyota and all the others are still doing just fine.
I don't agree with everything Obama has done, but stop pretending this is a ***** communist takeover. - TheSwashbuckler, on 07/18/2009, -4/+25Obama was right about people "clinging" to their guns...
- ParticleMan420, on 07/18/2009, -9/+30please. like the fat, lazy, spoiled republicans are going to do anything.
teabagging is one thing but i dont think they could hire enough illegals to fight for them. - homercles337, on 07/18/2009, -5/+25The red states would wither away and die without all the blue state welfare funding them.
- HEAVYisSPY, on 07/18/2009, -2/+22"Progressive fascist news is not news."
oxymoron.
"There is a good reason why Fox News is blowing away the competition."
By your logic, Transformers 2 is a better movie than Citizen Kane. After all, it made a lot more money. - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -8/+27You're not gonna do ***** nerd jesus.
- Suricou, on 07/18/2009, -3/+22She would, I have no doubt, attempt to violently overturn an elected government while shouting that said government has no respect for democracy.
- pintomp3, on 07/18/2009, -8/+27How many were advocating an armed revolt if they lost the election? Talibangelicals like yourself are a greater threat to American than any foreign group.
- darkened, on 07/18/2009, -1/+20Agreed, the 2nd amendment was written with the intention of America always being armed and vigilante so our government could never overthrow our republic.
Which sadly I'm not even sure could protect us from the government now with the whole age of tanks. - Diefree, on 07/18/2009, -2/+20Yes but no officials FROM the party called for Bush to be killed or there be an armed rebellion of racist rednecks. That's the difference, yes even I called Bush a war criminal and I truly believe he is and should be held accountable by trial. I have NEVER called for someone to kill him or for an armed rebellion to overthrow a duly elected government like these members of the GOP and I have never heard of an official from the democrat party doing so. Beyond that these people are blatant hypocrites. They didn't have any problem with good ole boy Bush giving his buddies trillions, expanding his office's powers but let Obama even mention we need money to repair the economy they scream. Plus Obama has NOT expanded his powers like Bush did. So after all that you don't think these people at least appear racist and hypocritical?
- chrisbaskind, on 07/17/2009, -13/+31Meet the real Stalinists.
- orlandogeek, on 07/18/2009, -2/+20There cannot be a true Socialist or Communist in the American political system because our ideologies do not swing that far left. The farthest left we go is just a little right of center.
As for nothing good coming from social (also to be defined as liberal or progressive) agendas, how about a very simple one.. the New Deal creating the FDIC. Oh and how about an end to slavery? Women's voting rights? Voting rights for minorities? The Civil Rights movement? Reagan's famous Berlin Wall speech? All of these things are examples of progressive thinking.
At every major turning point in history, despite what little letter is next to a politicians name it has been new progressive ideas that have challenged the status quo and moved the country forward. You cannot get change and progress from doing the same thing because it's known and comfortable. - Vermifax, on 07/18/2009, -4/+22Yeah, that Arnold! What a blue, Democrap, Librul....oh, wait.
- Noodleson, on 07/18/2009, -0/+18wait, democrats have free beer? Why didn't anybody tell me!?
- rocknog, on 07/18/2009, -3/+20I would agree that I'm wary of what Obama is doing, but it's ***** pure hysterics to compare it to socialism or communism. You could argue that he has socialist tendencies, and I'd give you that, but to argue that the scope of it compares to any other socialist/communist country in the world is utterly absurd. We've moved maybe an inch in the direction of socialism, but what you're failing to acknowledge is that the line is basically a yard away.
- AndrewDB, on 07/18/2009, -8/+24You still have your racism too..
That's a winning quality too right GOP?
/sarcasm (Is this tag even really needed?) - jayjayjoni, on 07/18/2009, -6/+22Seems like political violence is only inherent to the right. Liberals I find, are intelligent, well respecting people. Wingnuts on the other hand. . .
