- iching, on 01/16/2008, -2/+41Enron Book keeping, they learned from their buddy Kenneth Lay.
- headt0thebunker, on 01/16/2008, -3/+23Record level production of oil from Iraq during Saddams rule was 3.7 billion barrels a day
Average price of oil for the last 60 years....$30.00 a barrel..
Two spikes in that thirty years...Iran/Iraq war.....up to $80.00 U.S. Imposed price controls and the second ....Now. in Iraq.
Current Oil production in Iraq is half of what it was even after the oil fires of the first Gulf War.
At an average of $80.00 a barrel X 4 years (4x365 = 1460 days) that we have been occupying iraq. X an average of around 2.5 billion barrels produced a day. =
$292,000,000,000,000.00 and we are paying for this war because?
BTW has anyone heard where all that money went? Or why it is Bush just can't seem to get that oil production back up to the level Saddam had it? - londubh, on 01/16/2008, -1/+14All together now "We are shocked. Shocked that the Bush administration would lie to us!"
- mjl5629, on 01/16/2008, -1/+13You mean "Kenny Boy"?
- zoezack, on 01/16/2008, -0/+9Its a heist and we've all been had (we're all still being suckered).
- MadKennyP, on 01/16/2008, -1/+10I remember Kenny Boy and Enron. Bush flew on one of Enron's corporate jets for many of his campaign appearances. Bush is at least consistent with his corruption.

Care to take your head out of the sand? - inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+8i attend MIZZOU aka the university of missouri. Kenneth Lay graduated from there and they still have a portrait of him hanging up in one of the buildings. :D
- pehpsi, on 01/16/2008, -1/+9It's a shame, but I think the truth is that most people have become desensitized to the Bush Blunders...
- ScienceDoc, on 01/16/2008, -0/+7I'm all like - duh!
- aliengoods, on 01/16/2008, -4/+10In defense of the government, there was a great deal of sabotage done to the refineries before and during the 'war'. On the other hand, they've had years to fix them.
Also, they give it to Haliburton for next to nothing. - nblsavage, on 01/16/2008, -2/+7Y?ou actually think we're ever going to leave? Sucker.
- unjustend, on 01/16/2008, -1/+6I guess I find it confusing that America of all people would expect a government that it help create to have a balanced budget. We're talking about America here.
- F1R3DUP, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5does this surprise anyone?
- kingzing1, on 01/16/2008, -2/+6Just FYI, they produced 3.5 million (not billion) barrels a day in their peak. During the war it dropped to 300,000 bpd, though it has increased over time. Thus your numbers are way off. Regardless, I still agree that this money has got to be going somewhere....
- jezsik, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4It's not hanging in the building where the corporate ethics classes are taught by any chance, is it?
- robberry, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5Would you kindly explain *why* you believe the article is crap? Here's a hint... the mere fact that it's posted at Rawstory isn't enough. You need to actually provide some proof that the article is mistaken and/or misleading.
- bowens44, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4There is no issue so important or so trivial that this administration won't lie about it.
- inajeep, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4I have to agree w/ didiman but not his way of expressing the fact. Money went to contractors and leaked into every open pocket it could find. You don't think anyone with some explosives and who may have had a chip or two on their shoulders may have some how interrupted the pipelines, oil processing, pumping, workers, police and any vehicle?
- SteaminTmann, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4"Fuzzy Math"
- mtjohnson, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4...and move on to Iran, amirite?
- kreneskyp, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4They are giving a favorable report because the US funding was tied to it. People are still pissed off because even though the surge is "working" the iraqi government still accomplished any of their tasks. The whole reason for the surge was to keep the country calm so they could get something done. Well they accomplished almost nothing and now the surge is drawing down. To validate our troops staying they have to be getting something done.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3astounding. Next maybe we will learn that our government is nothing more than a bunch of crooks and liars!
- AndreiOttawa, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4Who's George Soro's?
- ordig, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Isn't the Iraqi government refusing to sign bush's oil law?
- asdpublic, on 01/16/2008, -1/+3I'm shocked, SHOCKED that this administration would do this.
- ZenMojo, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Newsflash: It was never our oil in the ***** first place! Anyone who supported the war on the hopes of cheap oil is a pestery little *****.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2no, its graduation advising whatever. sometimes i wonder if im the only person who has noticed.
- BuzzFriendly, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Since when did it become the US job to make sure a country that did nothing to the US has it government in order? Seems like someone should get our government in order.
- Jomwilli, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Still doesn't mean that you can lie about how the $$$ we gave them was allocated.
- obliviousfool, on 01/17/2008, -1/+3Ever see "Outfoxed?"

Do let us know when someone makes a similar movie about rawstory.com. - williamdyer, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2The neocon philosophy is that "reality-based" people like us are too hung up on facts.
- miketherazor, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1OutFoxed is *****. Just because it is in a ***** movie doesn't make it true you idiot

- jezsik, on 01/16/2008, -0/+1I have to ask, what's the new name?
- miketherazor, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1You are a fool if you don't think a liberal can be a fascist. Fascism is not a right wing ideology like you libtards think. It is a way of thinking. If you think that laws get in the way of things that you think are right and you wish you could just suspend the laws to do "good" then you are a fascist. If you don't know that then you are as blind as the rest of the fools out there. Hillary Clinton stated in her book, "It Takes a Village" that she wants to put up screens in public places like the DMV to inform people how to raise their children and be good citizens. HELLO 1984. If that isn't a fascist statement then what is exactly? I think I can raise me kids fine without her help or yours. You want to push your view points down my throat because you feel that you are smarter simple because you are a liberal, that is a fascist way to think. You twist the facts to meet your needs. I would suggest you study the Italian Fascists from pre WW2 for further study. You can get off your high horse, I've been to college and I can read just fine.
- miketherazor, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I don't listen to Rush but if that is the best you can do for an insult, I feel sorry for you.
- a10webb, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1Like what? Release all the rapists in jail and replace them with anyone who has HIV. Seems plausible to me.
- h3lx, on 01/19/2008, -0/+1I think I'm going to fudge my income tax to make my return look good. What's good for goose...
- robberry, on 01/16/2008, -1/+2"Why should I have to?"
Well, strictly speaking, you *don't* have to. Nobody's got a gun to your head. But if you don't, you're gonna like a douchebag.
"You Liberal-Fascists do the same thing to Fox News, right?"
First of all, there is no such thing as "Liberal-Fascist". Liberalism and fascism are two utterly incompatible political philosophies; to embrace one is to automatically reject the other. You might as well talk about "Islamic Christians" or "Black Klansman" or "Michigan Buckeyes."
Second, those who criticize Fox News do not simply assert "Fox News is bad" and stop there. They provide reasons why they think a particular Fox News story is inaccurate or biased, and then they provide evidence to back up those reasons. I doubt you could do the same for Rawstory, but you're welcome to try.
"Why the double standard? OOHHH that's right, your whole political agenda is based on double standards, I forgot, sorry."
This is incorrect. Liberalism is a consistent political philosophy, and I challenge you to prove otherwise. - oldhick, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1They have a contract. The contract pays a fixed amount regardless of how much oil is produce and regardless of the price its sold at. Don't call me a liar. If you feel you have to resort to such childish comments, at least explain how I am lying.
- ZeroG52, on 01/16/2008, -2/+2Wow, now that we are truly winning the war in Iraq the losers are really pulling out all the stops. Next thing you know they'll be joining the terrorists so we have more US casualties (so the news can cover Iraq again instead of ignoring all the GOOD we are doing there!).
- oldhick, on 01/16/2008, -2/+2They give "it" to Haliburton for next to nothing? Haliburton simply operates the oil fields and has a contract to do so. They do not profit from the sale of oil produced in Iraq.
