- jpsoraire, on 05/10/2009, -0/+9This speech had me roaring with laughter. Oh man, it's nice to see him jab back at Rush Limbaugh, Michael Steele, and Fox News. I like what he is planning to do in honor of his first 100 days and even better, what he plans to accomplish in his next 100 days.....lol.
- JoeMondo, on 05/10/2009, -0/+7Beats the days of GW Bush's making fun of missing WMDs, while other people's kids were dying in a war based on the farce of those non-existent WMDs.
- angrykeyboarder, on 05/10/2009, -0/+6The President cracked me up. "Rahm is not used to saying 'day' after 'Mother'".
And there was "Michael Steele is in the house, or as he likes to say 'in the heezy.'
"Michael for the last time, the republican party does not qualify for a bailout. Rush Limbaugh does not count as a trouble asset, I’m sorry."
"Dick Cheney was supposed to be here, but he is very busy on his memoirs, 'How to Shoot Friends and Interrogate People.'"
And Wanda Sikes reminded me of Colbert at the WHCD several years back. She went a bit "over the top" as well. But being a liberal, I thought she was funny as hell.
She attacked Rush Limbaugh for saying he hoped the President's policies would fail. "That's treason," she said. "That's not saying anything different from what Osama bin Laden is saying... I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight."
I kinda grimaced when it got to hijacker, but she redeemed herself with the Oxycontin reference. :D
I loved it. - katagana, on 05/10/2009, -0/+4Nice one.. I find it surprising that Obama's Axelrod joke (about going to Iowa and making it official) didn't get so much attention, a sign of acceptance perhaps.. the US is really moving in the right direction!
- rpachter, on 05/10/2009, -0/+4Nice job.
- bella747, on 05/10/2009, -0/+4He was referring to his very unnatural tan if I'm not mistaken. There have been a lot of jokes about his tan.
- DBreeze, on 05/10/2009, -0/+3Obama was great. I didn't get the John Boehner jab.. a person of color? can someone explain

- mrbuddy, on 05/12/2009, -0/+1The $23000 was from them not serving dessert

- devans00, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Whoa, Obama got jokes.
Nice to watch the president without waiting to cringe. - mediablitz, on 05/10/2009, -0/+1"Proceeds from the dinner will help feed the hungry and fund journalism scholarships. The association will donate more than $23,000 to the charity"
Someone please tell me that is a typo. - zeprider1, on 05/10/2009, -1/+0
In recognition of hard times in the country, the association will skip formal dessert for the 2,700 dinner guests and donate the money saved, $13,140, to the Washington-based charity
