- InetRoadkill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35The toll road idea is larger than just the I-35 corridor. In the San Antonio area there are plans to sell loop 1640 and highway 281 to a private company for conversion to a toll-road system. The idea is being met with enormous opposition from the public, yet the plan seems to be going forward nonetheless. You have to wonder what sort of back-room shenanigans are taking place to allow this ***** to happen.
- 911isalie, on 10/12/2007, -12/+38This is real and they are doing it without consent or debate - this is treason.
Yet, this is really no different than what they got away with in regard to the Merck incident, in Texas. Corporate interests paid off elected officials, and I see it as a payoff, to force something on the people without the debate and consent of the people. I call that treason.
Well the American people will never stand for it you say! Ha! They are standing for it; just look around.
Scenario: They set the bomb(s) off, one, two or three, blame Iran - the economy goes through the floor, they come to us and tell us that the only solution is North American Union, and your new currency is the Amero, and isn't just luck and coincidence for us all, that we, your faithful government, have already built a high-way to make all this work, and we've enacted all the legislation we need to conscript from the populous, (because most of the military and guard are over seas) and suppress any armed rebellion that may come from those that don't believe Iran was the culprit, for said enabling bombing.
With the death of Posse Comitatus and the Insurrection Act of 1807 this past October, the stage has been set for the above scenario; the high-way is merely a prop on that stage.
Question becomes, what will we do to stop it? What do you do when you realize that the whole of your government and courts are corrupt and the very security services you look to for protection just keep enforcing the will of the criminals and traitors on the (still mostly unsuspecting) public?
And what will you do when George W. Bush declares marshal law? - hammer66x, on 10/12/2007, -24/+48Yeah.... so.... you realize that the Trans Texas Corridor is just a big road running north-south through Texas? Speaking as someone from Texas, who actually knows about the corridor, it has absolutely nothing to do with some form of US-Mexico merger. It's just the logical extension of some of the current Texas highways and I dont know about anyone else, but with cities spaced out the way they are in Texas I'd certainly like 85 mph speedlimites. Screw 75 mph (not that we go that slow anyway). Anyhow, cursory reading for all of y'all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Texas_Corridor . Yeah, wikipedia, but I dont much feel like looking up anything else and it's at least as reputable as a personal blog. Oh, and if you want a Mexican view of this sort of thing http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6390291.stm?ibn . Yeah, and that's over 10 meters.
- mutatron, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25The main thing people need to know about this is that a few people are going to make hundreds of millions of dollars building it, and in the end it's going to be a blight across the landscape of Texas up to a quarter of a mile wide in places.
http://www.corridorwatch.org/ttc/index.htm
Everyone should understand that this isn't another Interstate Highway. It not just a jumbo-sized highway. This Corridor project is a very wide, very flat, extremely limited access, mostly toll, highway-rail-utility corridor. To cross the Corridor at any point will require a quarter-mile long overpass.
"If there is no access to the small towns, it will change the face of the state."
— Will Lowrance, Hillsboro Mayor MORE>>
It will connect to Interstate and other major highways. However, by design it will not provide easy, if any, access to the communities it passes by. It will not spur commercial development along its frontage like our Interstate Highways. There will be no frontage. There will be no opportunity for the owners of property it abuts to develop new or expanded businesses with access to the Corridor. Moreover, it has provisions in the plan and the law to place all possible traveler services on the corridor itself.
Every mile of Corridor will consume 146 acres of land. That's property that will become state owned land - removed from county and school district tax rolls everywhere it extends.

http://www.texastollparty.com/ttp_trans_texas.php - 911isalie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24The information is suspect, because it's on Alex Jones's site?

What qualifies as a reliable source, whitehouse.gov?
Would you accept Lou Dobbs? Because Dobbs goes on about it - is he paranoid, or making it up.
My God man, if you can't accept the plain truth in front of your eyes, then there is no hope - just bring on the Amero and the NAU. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Welcome to three years ago when this was actual new news in Texas.
- ne0shell, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23The North American Union and the Trans Texas Corridor are no jokes people. The corridor is just part of a much bigger plan for almost every state to turn public roads over to private companies like Spain's Centrex so they can convert them to toll roads. The tolls will be used to pay for the new North American Union. (Go to www.spp.gov to read the govt propaganda on it and then do some searching to read the FOIA results). Bush signed this SPP document in 2005 without any congressional oversight - the SPP working groups are busy merging our countries via legislation, regulations etc - all without the American public having a choice. The FOIA documents detail how the first item on the SPP meeting agenda was how to keep things secret from the public.
I'm really sick of people slamming Alex Jones also. Yeah he can be obnoxious but he's also 99.9% correct. In the two years I've read his site and listened to his show I can vouch for his accuracy. I'm no longer taken by surprise by anything our govt does and have a very good handle on what's to come. If more Americans would bother to get informed and just research these things we might have a chance at saving our country.
Many people just don't want to face reality, that both political parties are controlled and owned by globalist. They put on a fake battle for control while the real agenda moves forward regardless of who is in power. Are the democrats on digg still holding their breath waiting for the congress to take action against Bush, Cheney and the war for global profit? - raina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13How about the Texas Department of Transportation?

Gah. - socket, on 10/12/2007, -14/+27Yes this really is important. This is all part of the North American Union crap Bush signed us up to under our noses. This NAU crap must be stopped and resisted against. They want everything said and done before anyone knows it's even happening.
- raina, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12): It's gonna go through all kinds of things. I've seen the people's comment forms from the public meetings, most are pretty unhappy. All proposed routes are going to mess up small cemeteries, farms, family land, towns, even small ecological systems with weird things like endangered bugs.

- JudgeDreddEsq, on 10/12/2007, -10/+20Is Treason still a hanging offense?
- rhoadesb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11 Get used to it. The NAU is coming whether we like it or not. Those in power have decided it. The only thing that MIGHT stop it were if the population raises "heck". We appear more interested in Anna N Smith's decomposing corpse, so I don't see that happening.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11How about flipping the corridor sideways, so it went from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles? That could be interesting.
- zenbrooklyn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16My parents live in Kansas City, MO and I recently had a chat with them about this SuperDuperTransCorridor. I'm glad that my father was at least aware of this thing coming through, but I don't think he yet understands the SIZE of the beast. This may help... My hometown is in for a shock. Get this: K.C. will be the FIRST stop for Customs for anyone coming in from Mexico and points south. It'll be the southern-most point of U.S. Customs! Another advantage for making K.C. a "SmartPort" (nascocorridor.com, be sure to look at their "Events & News" calander!) is that it sits also on the major east/west Interstate 70. Once a truck makes it to K.C. it'll pretty much have access to the entire continent.
nice.

can someone explain what this means? - geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Notice the marketing here - it's appealing to the rugged individualism of Texans. Often you will find phrases like, "A name Texans can trust." No one loses money playing to the egos of Texans. I should create my own billboard that reads, "Wire me money because that's what we Texans do here in Texas. Bank account 303484 484847."

Are you really stupid enough to believe this is a "Conspiracy Theory"? It's been reported for more then a year and runs from Mexico to Canada. You should check your sources before calling something a "Conspiracy Theory"! Also, this it one of those things that is bigger and more far reaching then anyone can imagine (even more then those that have conceived it).
So glad I don't live on the mainland anymore!!! - bsmeteronhigh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Hate to break it to you, but the highway is just a symbol of what is already happening. For instance: I just sold my Chevy Blazer. It had 190K miles on it. The transmission was blown. An enterprising Mexican mechanic purchased it. He was able to get a permit to move the vehicle from AZ for a couple bucks on line. He then could ship it south to Mexico where the mechanics down there work for pennies a day. It will probably stay down there or, it'll be shipped back north...no doubt the the odometer rolled back....'cause the laws are different down there. So, is there a problem? Well, I doubt that south of the border they have to worry about OSHA or EPA fees. They don't have to worry about disability insurance or insurance of any sort. So, where does that leave mechanics in the U.S. or Canada? Oh, that's right, they can....nope, our government would shut them down if they operated the same way. Free trade isn't Fair trade.

Here it is:
Road to where?
Date: February 3, 2007
Publication: Hutchinson News, The (KS)
Quietly but systematically, the Bush administration is advancing the plan to build a huge NAFTA super highway, four football-fields-wide, through the heart of the U.S. along I-35, from the Mexican border in Laredo, Texas, to the Canadian border.
Once complete, the new road will allow containers from the Far East to enter the U.S. through the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas, bypassing the Longshoreman's Union in the process. The Mexican trucks, without the involvement of the... - CaptainRadium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6As someone, not only from Texas, but also, in the path of this monster I can tell you that this roadway is a rip-off ram-rodded down the throats of the locals who will not benefit from this grand larceny.
It isn't just another highway. It is a self-contained, state monopoly that will dole out roadside concessions to the highest bidder and for the financial benefit of insider cronies.
The local landowner who might want to build a gas station or restaraunt along the side to make some lemonade out of this lemon will be told to piss-off.
This is not just another road created by the normal process of eminent domain. It is a state seizure of land for private profit. It gives new meaning to the term "highway robbery". - rabidjester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Holy *****, I've heard Lou Dobbs go on about this a few times - I need to start paying more attention. The last time I heard anything the President does without Congressional approval is an Executive order which must be passed buy the following administrations. Or are you saying our country is run by a group called the Pentaverate, consisting of the Queen, the Vatican, the Gettys, the Rothschilds and Colonel Sanders, which controls everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meets triannually at a secret location in Colorado called The Meadows
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Homes get built in my part of the USA without Mexicans, and the homes cost 1/3rd of what they do in areas with "Cheap" mexican labor.
- munciefour, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4How true. Americans will eventually pay for their passiveness.
- elhaf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You know, if they really wanted to move people and goods rapidly through Texas, they should put a dedicated road running north and south. And since it's a dedicated road, they could even require special cars to run on it, that could run really fast. Or at least they could mandate that they be able to hook together, and that the front one would be able to go really fast and pull a lot of weight. And as long as your're designing special cars, you might as well make them capable of holding more than just a few people, and even put beds and tables in them, and a car to buy food. And make other cars that can carry goods, so that you take over the function of the trucking industry while you're at it. And you could even make the roads foolproof, so that you couldn't run off the roads or anything, and make it so that someone with a little specialized training could drive the front car, and everyone else could just relax. And you could even charge people for riding on these cars, rather than a tollway. Oh yeah, we already have that, it's called a ***** train.

This only shows I-69 and the portion that will run paralel to I-35. Did they scale back their plans?
- vietvet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is about putting the transportation system under private control. It's happening, around Chicago, and in Indiana. The Indiana Toll Road has been turned over to private enterprise and the governor [Bush's "My Man Mitch" Daniels] wants to build I-69 as a privately-operated toll road. The state provides the legal power to seize property, the private enterprise collects huge profits. Guess which political party they then support?

Dude, I have no freaking clue what these people are on about. I read the news a lot, from a pretty wide array of sources, with a particular focus on keeping track of stupid crap Bush tries to pull off (and, sadly, often succeeds). And I've heard lots of conspiracy theories lately, but this one is totally new to me, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how it would make sense to anyone.
Bush wants to rebuild the Great Wall of China along our southern border to keep any and everybody out. Then he wants to poke a big hole in it and start pumping every Mexican that can fit in an 18-wheeler through it with no custom check until they're half-way to Canada. I'm sorry, not even pretzel-induced brain damage could produce that scheme. - CeltiCowboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is Rick Perry's baby. He's for sure lining his pockets big time promoting this deal. The road's builder/maintainer is a foreign company - none of the bucks goes back into our economy. It will divide Texas with a gignormous ribbon of asphalt and rail, taking out thousands of square miles of prime farm land and displacing thousands of people. Texans I've talked to (and yes, I am one) are opposed like 7 to 3.
Perry was relected with the smallest margin in Texas history. More people voted for one of his three opponants than for him. The Deomocrat was only a couple percentage points behind him. If Kinky had dropped out and thrown his votes to the Dems, we wouldn't have this monkey in office now. - whyhellothere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@ electricfuneral

- uttles, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9Can we just annex them already? Seriously.
Think about it this way: our Southern border would be a LOT shorter then.... easier to build a fence.... - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm Texan, though I don't see how that is a prerequisite to talk about this issue. Some of the major problems with the TTC is that most Texans are opposed to it, though it is going ahead anyway. It is another case in which our roads are being given to private corporations. Eminent domain is being used, in the case of the TTC, to take over 9,000 square miles of private land away from people and handing it over to private developers. Towns and cities will be killed by this. The private, and generally foreign, corporations are charging very high prices to have an exit placed near a location. Most of the small cities and towns currently being serviced by I-35, can't afford to pay off these corporations and will simply be cut off from the outside world and will die. Also, it is a fact that this is part of the larger project which basically follows I-35 from Mexico to Canada. The road signs are already being converted in Texas and Minnesota. Regardless of whether you approve of the North American Union, of which the proposed currency is the Amero, you've got to ask yourselves, why is this going ahead and being executed without the approval of the people (of the US, Canada OR Mexico) and why is it not requiring debate or approval by the Congress?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union - siszam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You don't beleive it? Haven't you watched tv in the past year? Here are videos talking about it. If you take your fingers out of your ears and stop going, "la, la, la, la", you will see this isn't something we made up.
