A innocent man thrown in to a cage by a OUT OF CONTROL judge! - vnotnes, on 11/15/2008, -1/+22This illustrates (as surely Ian's intention was) the inherent violence in the legal system, and why it shouldn't be used as a tool of convenience for those in power. When you end up locking people up for misplaced couches and formalities in the courtroom, you've taken away any moral authority the system might have had. 100 days for a 'crime' with no victim (except, obviously, the 'offender')... things like this will bring the system down. In the end, that would be a good thing. Thank you to Ian and others that go through this to open everyone's eyes.
- lordmetroid, on 11/15/2008, -0/+19I want my favorite radio talk show host back...
- thelibertysmith, on 11/15/2008, -1/+16Ian is more free than most people will ever be.

- TJ89, on 11/15/2008, -1/+12this is ***** outrageous and disgusting. what a nasty judge--this reminds me a bit of 1984.
- grishnav, on 11/15/2008, -1/+11Words fail me. I don't know how to describe how angry I am at the thugs operating under the name of the City of Keene.
- AntonLee, on 11/15/2008, -0/+9Judge Burke of Keene should be arrested for violating his oath to uphold the constitution. A sick sick man. Does his children know that he puts people away for not standing as he states? This is still America right?
- AdrianBisson, on 11/15/2008, -0/+9The liberty activists in Keene are inspiring to me. I'm seriously considering making the move there.
- AbsurdParadox, on 11/15/2008, -2/+11Ian Notsofreeman :(
- wtfk, on 11/15/2008, -1/+9Who are you, little man?

To give free people stress? - kaptainsteve, on 11/15/2008, -1/+7Democracy is MOB RULE.
- mport1, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5Spread news of this outrage everywhere!
- toneill, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5Judge Burke: I charge you Ian Freeman, with "standing" in the first degree, with an intent to stretch your legs!
- prompel, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4Welcome to the Land of the Free ...
- georgedonnelly, on 11/16/2008, -0/+3Follow the story at http://93days.com/ .
- ArvinJA, on 11/16/2008, -0/+3Free Ian, Free Man!
- shiddysmurf, on 11/16/2008, -0/+3which is why our founding fathers meant for USA to be a republic.
- nitroy2k, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2hahaha well this things happen only in America ;)
- OmegaWolf, on 11/16/2008, -0/+1This is happening in New Hampshire? I thought NH was a libertarian state!
- japanskeptic, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1that is unbelievable. things are really getting fascist. i think i'll stay in japan a bit longer
- OmegaWolf, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1mengert@ci.keene.nh.us
This is the email address of Mikaela L. Engert, the city code enforcer who reported the couch. Give her hell! - OmegaWolf, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1It seems like it.
- Overcast72, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Maybe "Orwellian" would be a better term for it. Personally, I'll avoid it like the plague.
- PeppermintPig, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1There are cases like this all over the place. But in NH it gets reported frequently because of the strong pro-liberty activism which goes on there.
As for what you're saying, OmegaWolf, keep in mind NH is on the border of Massachusetts. There are plenty of people moving up to NH from there because they don't like the fruits of their socialistic system, but then they start wanting NH to be more like MA as well.
