- bobob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting question: does 'free culture' mean a free exchange of ideas, or does it mean the ability to plagerise people's ideas, and where is it right to draw the line?
Its a question which FreeNation will need to solve if it is to be successful; what is the difference between the two above, and how do you define them? If that is done, I can see freenation becoming a great success and providing a valuable contribution to the planet's culture and knowledge. - mtwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't believe it is communism or direct democracy. It would be a place free from government. Some believe that with current technology a society void of a centralized government could succeed. There are many things obstacles to overcome to achieve this, but advocates believe strongly in it.
Social order in these types of societies can be maintained through insurance policies of sort. So if you feel your security is threatened you take out a insurance policy for security. Then the organization you are insured with has a vested interested to secure you and your property. If you fear pollution, you can insure yourself against that as well. Then if someone builds a polluting factory next to you, you collect on your policy. The idea is that the group insuring you has a vested interest and possibly the power to prohibit such an action. This idea can be applied to many other facets of life as well. Road and infrastructure are privately maintained and charged tolls or fees for usage. Only recently have we had the technology to implement much of this, but the basis of it is that you pay for what you use and subsidize no one. The positive side of this is NO TAXES! - MrDiggle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@karapuz
Even worse. Now my rights are even less defined and protected.

Slavery only doesn't work with people who don't want to be slaves. - Inferus3141, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Plagiarism is not allowed, for obvious reasons.
- nottestuser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Communism only doesn't work with people who don't want to be communists.
- karapuz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Its not comunism, its a direct democracy!
- MrDiggle, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1When the hell did social and economic ideas get so muddled? And when are people going to learn that communism will never work?
