- Ozzsanity, on 06/24/2009, -33/+617I love my father and always thought him a smart man. I recently found out that he only watches Fox news and actually believes them to be fair and balanced. God I hate knowing my father is a retard.
- gsadamb, on 06/24/2009, -35/+586It's amazing how audacious they are. Just ***** audacious.
- gsadamb, on 06/24/2009, -24/+564BTW, other times this has happened:
With Mark Foley: http://www.bradblog.com/?p=3570
Joe Lieberman: http://www.newshounds.us/2007/06/11/fox_news_goofs ...
John McCain: http://crooksandliars.com/2008/02/07/fox-news-labe ... - wtrwlkr, on 06/24/2009, -26/+242I believe the obligatory "***** FOX NEWS" is in order here.
- martalli, on 06/24/2009, -40/+249Fox News: Dumb & Balanced
- eastwood24, on 06/24/2009, -14/+201Iran's state media could learn a few things about manipulating the truth from ***** Fox News.
- JStraum, on 06/24/2009, -17/+179Great comments: Fox News does this a lot. Whenever there is negative coverage of a Repub, they suddenly switch them to a (D). And the morons who comprise the bulk of their audience never catch on. If they get called out, they run an apology piece at like 3:15 AM -
fOX nEWS = POS - alleged, on 06/24/2009, -23/+181There's nothing "fair" or "balanced" about Fox. What's amazing is that the right's remedy for biased news reporting is to create even more biased news reporting on the opposite end of the scale.
Actually I'm being charitable. Fox is more of a news-based entertainment channel than a legitimate source of current events. - EddiePotato, on 06/24/2009, -8/+161It originally appeared as "Mark Sanford (D, queer, communist)", but then they fixed it and made it just (D). See, they can admit when they screw up.
- Diefree, on 06/24/2009, -6/+133Is anyone truly dumb enough to believe this was an accident?
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -15/+130Proofreading would avoid that error.
So would journalistic integrity. - Jsoul87, on 06/24/2009, -2/+104From reddit -
Mark Foley- http://media.photobucket.com/image/mark%20foley%20 ...
John McCain- http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xbOeDVAIcrA/R68zN6xg2-I/ ...
I thought they did it to Larry Craig, too, but apparently that was some local station- http://bostonist.com/attachments/boston_caroline/1 ...
They switched Lincoln Chafee and Sheldon Whitehouse- http://www3.allaroundphilly.com/blogs/reporter/wes ...
And Lamar Alexander- http://www3.allaroundphilly.com/blogs/reporter/wes ...
And I found all of those in about 5 minutes.
Edit: Somebody else found Pat Toomey, the likely Republican candidate for Arlen Specter's Senate seat thusly confused- http://images2.dailykos.com/images/user/191280/too ...
Edit 2: You've got to be ***** kidding me... There's more?
Ted Stevens- http://img183.imageshack.us/i/36b7f3386fb7cf7fe5a4 ...
And that's a Heckuva job Fox did with ex-FEMA director Michael Brown- http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/70436/origina ... - okayokayokay, on 06/24/2009, -8/+103The guys in the Fox Control Room really need to look up the term Cognitive Dissonance.
- gsadamb, on 06/24/2009, -10/+102Becoming angry because a news source is lying to make the opposition look bad is irrational?
But yeah, cry some more. Your tears sustain me. - eastwood24, on 06/24/2009, -5/+93The Audacity of Dopes.
- philosoraptor83, on 06/24/2009, -6/+87Dumb and Not Balanced
- ThsGuyRightHere, on 06/24/2009, -3/+75Along with today's screwup, two of those three could easily have the effect of swaying more impressionable and less educated viewers against democrats. Not that any viewers of Fox are impressionable or uneducated. Just sayin'.
- ZenFountain, on 06/24/2009, -7/+75In other news, Fox concedes the majority of their viewership are half retarded monkeys that actually fell for it and are screaming about those damn dirty Dems right this moment.
- gsadamb, on 06/24/2009, -3/+52You should probably learn English if you're going to live in the US.
- ThsGuyRightHere, on 06/24/2009, -8/+56So if MSNBC reported that John Edwards (R) cheated on his wife, would you chalk that up as a simple mistake? What if it had happened three times before, with two of these three times (as well as this one) serving to sway the opinions of less educated viewers against Republicans?
Maybe you're consistent enough to to apply the same standard either way, but for some reason I doubt it. - smemily, on 06/24/2009, -5/+53My mom too - smart lady, but she watches FOX, listens to Rush and Dr. Laura, and the first time she brought up the birth certificate ***** I got off the phone and cried.
- zephc, on 06/24/2009, -10/+57Is it possible to sue Fox News for blatant lies?
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -8/+55I hear ya. What throws me for a loop with my dad, is that he hates people like Rush, but doesnt have a problem with Hanity. I consider him a moderate Republican, thinks we need alternitive fuels NOW so we can stop messing with the Middle East. Doesnt even blink when answering Yes, gays and lesbians should be able to marry. But held his nose high he said when voting for Bush Jr the second time around, and obviously regrets doing so.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -1/+47do 5 million people watch fox every day?
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -1/+45Obvious troll is obvious.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -7/+51My in-laws are like this. They believe Obama is going to round up all of the conservatives and Christians into secret concentration camps and gas them.
Ironically, the more they say this, the better of an idea it sounds. - bamatime, on 06/24/2009, -1/+45i wonder if you will ever realize how badly you fail with this post.
- brakes4turtles, on 06/24/2009, -2/+46Anyone got examples of MSNBC or CNN doing this with such consistency?
- Suzilla, on 06/24/2009, -5/+49At least he didn't make his wife stand beside him and further humiliate her.
Oh, and to those who claim this is a non-story, just a simple typo? How many times has Fox made this sort of "typo" going the other way, identifying a Democrat as a Republican? - kasjogren, on 06/24/2009, -2/+45He is in the "Connecticut for Lieberman" party.
No joke - theaceoffire, on 06/24/2009, -6/+48Of course they are saying Republican. If they *said* Democrat, they wouldn't have plausible deniability.
As it currently stands, they can say "Oops, typo", and do it again in a couple of days. - gsadamb, on 06/24/2009, -6/+48So who identified him as a Republican?
Showing neither party identification is pretty shady, misleading, biased, all that.
But showing the wrong party identification is all that plus an outright lie, and is at best a really stupid mistake and at worst is malicious partisan hackery. - tacoman359, on 06/24/2009, -10/+51Oh so its lucky they didn't hit E, which is right next to R.
I'm pretty sure they knew exactly what they were doing, don't make excuses. - akaakc, on 06/24/2009, -6/+46Hahaha...man, that's dirty. They know they can always apologize for it, but they also know that if someone's just flippin' through the stations..."Oh, look. Another Democrat having an affair..." and then they go on about their business...that's a win for Fox.
Clever girl. - BlacklabelSAR, on 06/24/2009, -7/+47Look at the level of Denial from the FOXNews apologists.
- pr0t0, on 06/24/2009, -8/+47I found out my aunt feels the same way. At first I thought she was joking and let out a chuckling "yeah, right!". But then she continued and she was clearly serious. I did my best to put it perspective. I told her that Fox News was to journalism what Pro Wrestling was to sports...disingenuous entertainment.
She looked at me like *I* was the crazy one. - dissolutionman, on 06/24/2009, -4/+42Fox News: Fairly Imbalanced.
- inactive, on 06/24/2009, -6/+41Its ***** disgusting. You know how many people will either not care or listen to the correction. This media ***** smearing campaign has to end.
- Gndoab, on 06/24/2009, -3/+38leaving out the party affiliation is slightly different than changing it completely.
- WasabiBomb, on 06/24/2009, -1/+35It happens a LOT. Once can be an accident. Even a couple of times can be excused. When it becomes reliable, it's malicious and calculated.
- LawScholar, on 06/25/2009, -7/+39You know, my dad is fond of saying this as well, but if that's the case, why are there millions of old Democrats? Why does the power and influence of the Republican party keep waning and the Democratic party keep rising? Could it be that the things you're saying aren't necessarily true? Could it be that when a person starts a family and supports their family that they would like things like medical care and social security to be able to safeguard their family's health? Could it be that they see gay people trying to start a family like them and being denied and thinking "Hey, that's not right."? Could it be that they realize paying those taxes keeps things like bridges from collapsing and roads never being paved again?
Perhaps, could it be, that the very complexity of the world you talk about makes people realize that the world isn't simple, isn't black-and-white, isn't always good-and-evil, isn't always mind-your-own-business or government-is-nothing-but-bad or people-are-only-poor-because-they-deserve-it or gays-can't-marry-because-Christians-started-marriage-oh-wait-that-isn't-true-but-still?
Perhaps maturity will make just as many Republican youths vote Democrat.
Either way, don't patronize the way I see the world based on age. There is education, and history that has formed my opinions, not merely how long I've existed. - tryangles, on 06/24/2009, -3/+34Are we still talking about something that happened more than a decade ago? This thread is about something that occurred today, and about something that Fox continues to blatantly do. Thank you for continuing to prove to us how retarded most republicans continue to be.
- Suspected, on 06/24/2009, -2/+33*swoosh* over your head
- w00master, on 06/24/2009, -3/+34Nope, he's an Independent that sits with the Democratic Caucus. He *used* to be a Dem, but is no longer.
- kingnova, on 06/24/2009, -5/+34Funny how this is the fourth time they have done this with a "D", but they never have made the mistake the other way around...
- JohnInMT, on 06/24/2009, -2/+30You forgot the part where when a Democrat has an affair, it's usually with the opposite sex, and when a Republican has an affair, many times it's with the same sex. Not that there's anything wrong with being homosexual, it's just humorous since so many of them are so anti-gay until they get busted. So it's very funny when they accidentally fall out of the closet with a male intern.
Of course when that happens, they'll get labeled a democrat by Fox anyway.. - froston, on 06/24/2009, -1/+28Thats the "feed" where they are getting their footage. You are not smart.
- kasjogren, on 06/24/2009, -6/+33You only become a republican after you hate your life so much that you only wish misery and mire on others because you didn't get what you thought you had coming to you. I hate my marriage = ***** gays, they shouldn't be allowed to do nothing. I hate my job = ***** the poor, I want them to starve before they get food stamps. I hate my socio-economic situation = ***** taxes, if I was in the higher tax bracket i BELONG in, I would be pay a ton.
I grew, I have a great job, I pay my mortgage, mow the lawn, watch the high school football games, all that jazz. I never became bitter, jaded, and hateful though...so I stayed a Democrat. - WasabiBomb, on 06/24/2009, -1/+28@bubbadigg: "
Wow, this guy admits that nobody, not even his staff were aware of his whereabouts yet we say fox news was lying about it."
Uh... what? Are you reading the same article as everyone else? - buzznjackal, on 06/24/2009, -2/+29"Ding, ding, ding" You got it! Congratulations, that is the topic of this article..
