Fox News attacks Iran. Help stop the MSM madness

- Forcough, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9When interviewing Americans in the news, I've noticed, the English news Chanel's keep interviewing people with ***** for brains (we needed to invade Iraq ect..) and hardly ever show people with a different point of view. For this reason many people I know, conclude that all Americans are in favour of war and support Bush
- nigh7dagger, on 10/10/2007, -15/+2You should thank Fox News. Without them you wouldn't have a convenient scapegoat to blame your earlier support, or at least indifference, of Bush on.
- Forcough, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7I don't think I ever have supported your ***** arsehole wanker of a so called "president" my point was, when Americans are interviewed, they have ***** for brains such as yourself.
- nigh7dagger, on 10/10/2007, -7/+0I wasn't talking to you, you posted before I finished my post. I'm talking to the general majority of people who used to support Bush and the war and need something to blame for the change. If you want my opinion on your earlier comment, I think that wanting to invade Iraq doesn't mean you have ***** for brains. I think that it, like any other opinion, is what the person truly thinks and while the news media should try to be unbiased, they can at least interview people with different opinions.
If people you know think that all Americans support war in Iraq, they should look at a poll.
Oh, and you would sound a lot more intelligent if you didn't use adjectives like "***** arsehole wanker" and say that people who disagree have "***** for brains".

- unitedstatians, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2"The term originated during the circulation battles between Joseph Pulitzer's New York World and William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal from 1895 to about 1898, and can refer specifically to this period. Both papers were accused by critics of sensationalizing the news in order to drive up circulation, although the newspapers did serious reporting as well. The New York Press coined the term "Yellow Journalism" in early 1897 to describe the papers of Pulitzer and Hearst. The newspaper did not define the term, and in 1898 simply elaborated, "We called them Yellow because they are Yellow."

- bakkouz, on 10/10/2007, -4/+59You know what that means don't you? the U.S is going to wage a war on Iran. the signs are obvious, there's this, and recently the U.S declared the Iranian Revolutionary Gaurd on the foreign terrorists list, first time an army of another state was put on the list. then theres the $30 Billion aid to israel in weapons. All in such a short period of time.
The drums of war are banging.- eclipse007, on 10/10/2007, -4/+45Please don't let you government attack Iran, my family lives there :(

The news Media is doing the same fear mongering they did before the run up of the Iraq war. Same exact *****. Except now the news stations are talking about "Martial Law". Or "We need a new 9/11 so Americans can gather around the Decider". Its coming folks, the propaganda machine is running strong.

http://abcnews.go.com/International/IraqCoverage/story?id=3459843
I don't think we should start a war with them, don't get me wrong. But, I don't think they should be sugar-coated as being anything less than capable of funding and arming terrorists. I know it's not what anyone wants to hear, but is it not a possibility?
The only that the US government needs to understand is, no matter if Iran wasn't helping out, someone else would step up to bat. Whether it's for the cause of religion or for money, anyone is up for getting the US out.
As for a news station being a sign of war with another country, one needs to realize that almost all news stations were backing up the Iraq war, and saying the same ***** when it brewed. Now, the other stations just know better than to jump to conclusions. Bush would be impeached instantly on any decisions to invade Iran. Israel would jump in before that... and they're not stupid.- Winston84, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1you are funny ;

They fund lobbyists who they know will support their ideas and cause. That's why the small nominee usually gets snuffed out so fast. I know what you're saying, and I'm basically blowing smoke.. but, every large corporation has some type of bias and political pull. I doubt that Foxnews has that type of pull now that there is so much pressure on the administration... if they had pull at all.
I think that if you look back to when those Fox clips were taken, you'd see the same type of madness on other channels as well. That's why it the FUD isn't going to cut it with everyone dealing with Iran.
I'm not saying that anyone's right or wrong.... but, different points of view are needed. They all can't be the same view and political side. I'm not Dem. or Rep., but it's nice to switch from one channel to the next to get away from the same FUD every now and then.. .. for whatever reason.
Even though chocolate may be your favorite ice cream, if you eat it every day, you're going to get tired of it.

- gmason08, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Because for the most part they (most of the power players in gov/cong./exec./legislative) are either knowingly or negligently(in criminal fashion) serving as one division of a global establishment for very narrow interests, NOT the interests of the rank and file Human Being. The sooner you realize the absolute truth of this and make sure everyone else does the sooner, WE, will cease to be like so many head of cattle on the global ranch. Please get up to speed on this as soon as possible, it is the most critical matter for us all to understand. besides, 45 diggs, seems we are not exactly on the way to a revolution. Does strike me as strange that we are in this situation with the press (other crap notwithstanding) without more outrage.- alientrader, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2ha, dugg down. NO, you are preaching to the choir. I believe in doing something, in fact I have, what I have a hard time believing is that significant outrage didn't push for a change sooner. By the time Bush was re-elected, addressing the problem was way overdue. My hope is that expressing the severity of situation proportional to the lack of response may spur people to take action. Instead the idea of facing reality is enough to encourage you to digg me down. Way to take a stand.

Zeitgeist Movie ( yawn ) Unfortunatey it is as much a load of mutts nutts as the propaganda of the Bush fraternity. I thought the idea was to get AWAY from al this paranoia, not to create more.
- GlobalistShill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Zeitgeist is fantastic.
@nonchai
I agree that the idea is to get away from fear and paranoia,... and propaganda, falsity, etc. :) But exposing that which already IS for people to see is not the same thing. Zeitgeist,... I wouldn't call it paranoia at all! Fear has very little to do with it,... in fact,... quite the opposite... I felt quite open handed and inspired after watching it.
And I certainly wouldn't call it boring! Not if you watch it open to another view of the world, which is generally necessary for true learning. The world is not what it appears to be... - parabolee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Great documentary, shame some are not enlightened enough to see that the message from it was one of love and unity, not fear and paranoia. Maybe he didn't really watch it all the way through.

- matthewdestroys, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4It's insane what the media will say to keep this war going.
- annenk38, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Why write letters to networks themselves? Write to their sponsors -- people who buy commercial time from them, and threaten them with boycott. That will put a lot more pressure on the networks than trying to address them directly. It worked in the "wardrobe malfunction" incident. Beating the war drums should not be taken lightly.
- Mockylock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2It's more than likely the sponsors have the same POV, or they wouldn't be advertising with them. Sometimes even the media corporation won't show ads for those that don't support their cause as well.

- enki25, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3In firstplt's attempt to prove he is not gay, he has taken a militant view towards the people his leaders figures have told him are our enemies. In doing so he feels that he has proven his masculinity to his father and church community. Sadly, this is the motivation of many of the radical Muslims we are at war with. People like firstplt will never see the similarity. And they will never understand how not waging wars can actually make a country safer.
- quaxon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Hey i know, lets take your idea a step further and split the country up. you neocon jocko-***** can have all the middle states so you wont have to worry about moving and those of us who dont oppose knowledge, but embrace it, and those of us who dont want wars can live along the coasts, kinda like Chile, Chile's cool huh? I don't see any media being right or wrong, but c'mon. - art42, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You've proven yourself as a reicht wingnut. I highly doubt your claim to have worked in media.
Nobody wants to stiffle POV. It's the FACTS that get FAUXed up.
- Mockylock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Yeah.. take away Fox's right to show their point of view for your own. That's... um.... hipocritical?
- YellowStar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The powers that be need a continuous war to keep their already deep-pocketed friends at Blackwater, Halliburton and General Dynamics on the taxpayer gravy train. Disgusting.
- quaxon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3seeing as how fox news is the mouthpiece for the government i would venture a guess that many of these reports are encouraged 'daily bulletins' by the administration. this has me very worried.
- milican, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Since when did conservative stand for bloodthirsty war mongerers? Since when did conservative stand for going to war and giving the people tax cuts? Except for Ron Paul, the Republicans are not conservatives anymore. They talk small government, but build big Orwellian spy systems and tear apart our civil liberties. The last guy I remember balancing the budget was Bill Clinton. I'm tired of pushing America's freedom on countries by the barrel of a gun. We need to stop this and start setting a good example. We need to stop the damn deficit spending. We spend more on financing the debt ($277 B) than educating our children ($90 B), our national transportationsystem ($77 B), Agriculture ($27 B), Community and Regional Development ($27 B), Science and Tech ($25 B) combined. ***** I still have $30 Billion to add in before I get to the same amount as the interest payment for 2007. The deficit spending must stop! We need to balance our budget and get back to focusing on the good ol' USA. Our founding fathers would roll over in their graves if they saw what has happened to our banking system and how we interfere in the affairs of others. We are the most powerful nation in the world. The most powerful nation to ever exist on this planet, but with great power comes great responsibility. It is time the American citizens rise up and vote for a more responsible government!

- JeanNarH, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2Im sorry, but there's no such thing as democracy in the US anymore. U guys lost it, you lost the freedom you fought so hard for, you lost the fondamentals of ur country, and it's sad. Fortunately, it's not your fault...well not really...well kinda not. You know what i mean.
Now, would you stop this please?
First, because nothing good will come out of it, well not for the average american. The rich controling the government will get richer, the religious will get dumber (if i that's possible...), and that's it.
Second, because you have a really bad influence on our government (Canada, heh!) and that's sad too, cuz now we can't worryless blunt our weed in peace and quiet.- Domdogg123, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I stopped reading after 'U'...
- jugger74, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5This writing letters and petition stuff is all good but this is much more serious than that we need to be in the streets every free chance we get or confronting politicians in person. It is time we start doing our duty as citizens and put our rogue governments in their place. Canadians, Americans, Mexicans and Europeans all need to stand up to our tyrannical governments who are consolidating their powers and forces against us. The time for complacency, fear and excuses is over it is time for action my friends.
- nonchai, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Whatever gave yo the idea that Eurpean governments are tyrannical ?. Get a reality check. Much though I disagreed with Blair, he wasnt tyrannical.
- RationalXubrnce, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3 So America's Jewish influenced media is backing America's Jewish influenced government against Israel's enemy and people are surprised why?
- da_bradler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Thanks for clearing that up for us Mr. Gibson
- jlhoben, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Anyone who takes Fox News seriously cannot be rationally persuaded of anything.
- IbnDigg, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2OMG!!!11!, you just called half of america stupid
- kurttrail, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Please provide us some credible evidence that half of America takes Fox seriously.
- DimensionalPunk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Just ask this:
How bad do you want the US to attack Iran?
Would you kill yourself right now to make it happen?
Then STFU.- Mockylock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2What does that MEAN?
- da_bradler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I don't think the US has enough money for another war to tell you the truth. If the US declares war on Iran the firs thing Iran will do is invade Iraq and attack Isreal. I don't think the US could afford to fund Isreal as well as fight with boots on the ground. Hell the US can't even really afford to stay in Iraq. 9 trillon dollars and counting guys.
- Narcowski, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oh, no, that's okay, we just make up money when we need it.
- Mockylock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0You're right about not having the funds. That's another reason it will never happen, because the funds have to be approved.. and it will never, ever happen.
The deficit is 1.9 trillion, not 9. But still a nauseating amount. - unitedstatians, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yep! $699 billion this year alone for defense spending.

- joeschoe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Send a message to Congress that you are not afraid, and not to act on your behalf in this never-ending "war on terror". They only hear the drum-beat themselves, let them know that most of us out here in the real world will not bow to terrorists by living in fear and that we most certainly don't want them doing what they are doing: waging war, taking peaceful citizen's liberty, spending billions invading countries and making things worse. Visit www.downsizedc.org . Add your voice.
- joeschoe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I know that sounds like an ad, but I really think it's the only way to put pressure on Congress about this. I wanted to personalize the message so it didn't seem like spam. Pleeeease visit this site and send a message.
- ganymede2010, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Bush will attack Iran before he leaves office. Then it would give the incumbent President (Hillary Clinton) and excuse to continue the war once she assumes the throne.
- clubby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Please look up "incumbent." It does not mean what you think it means.
- barkingmoonbat, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0As someone on the hard left, I believe that we should try and shut down any entity with which we do not agree.

By JOHN CURRAN, Associated Press Writer Wed Aug 22, 6:27 PM ET
MONTPELIER, Vt. - Condemning the Fox News Channel as a warmonger that's agitating for a U.S. attack on Iran, documentary filmmaker Robert Greenwald and independent U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders announced an "online viral video campaign" Wednesday calling on television news organizations "not to follow Fox down the road to war again."
Continued on: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070822/ap_en_tv/tv_fox_iran_1 - n8f8, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1Propaganda folks. Muslim extremists took over Somalia last year. They are continually attacking governments in Asia, the Mideast and Africa and you retards are too dumb to follow the news.
- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Stop watching the news. The "Muslim extremists" (the Islamic Court Union) was formed to bring stability to a country that has been in a civil war since 1988. However, last year when Ethiopia and the US became involved, it was more or less destroyed. This conflict isn't something new that happened last year. And the idea that al-Qaeda is somehow connected to the Islamic Court Union is American made and ridiculous.
There is talk and speculation that Iran is waging a proxy war against US soldiers in Iraq. Meanwhile the US is waging a very real proxy war against all Islamic forces through Ethiopia.

- Fabc001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9We seriously have to get our country back from these psycopaths.
- Mockylock, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Unfortunately, the highest funded politicians are all psychopaths.
- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6If the US were to attack Iran, the US would forever lose the little support it still has left in the world.

- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3fox news is one of the administration top propaganda outlets, but don't let the other networks off the hook. they were all beating the war drums for iraq, msnbc being one of the loudest.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1If you have proof that Fox is lying about Iran, then you should post it. Otherwise, it seems like you want to suppress the media. Why do you hate our freedom so much?
- joe7845, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The burden of proof is on them. Watch the video. They said the same thing about Iraq. I would think that should've been sufficient a lesson on the drawbacks of making unsubstantiated claims.
- pandira, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Some things we might not have to prove....just use common sense. Of course, this only applies to those who HAVE common sense, Bohica.
- Victorioso, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1When one president who wants to spread his religion across the world
meets another man who wants to spread "democracy" across the world meet,
there is bound to be a war.
The prez of Iran says their messiah is about to come and wipe out those
who are the "infidels"... and spread Islam througout the world. That is his
goal. Its an ugly world. - gemmakicn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I have to say, i know you guys have a republic rather than a democracy, but how is anyone going to convince the american public to go to war again when the monkey has a 29% approval rating... i know you believe in miniority government and all but still not that much of a minority...
- GlobalistShill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well, a big "terrorist" strike or a similar threat to American soil might do the job...
However, as it becomes more and more evident that the current US adminsistration is full of liars at the top, if something like this happens I hope enough of the people will be VERY hesitant to assume that the provocateurs of such an event are not necessarily who we are told they are (and most likely aren’t).
