- erranttv, on 07/02/2008, -24/+646Jesus. That's just wrong. They look like cartoons. Calling Fox News "news" is just a complete joke. Has been for a while, but this is just nutty.
- Falldog, on 07/02/2008, -3/+348I really hope this shows up on the Daily Show or Colbert Report.
- rhabd0mancer, on 07/02/2008, -14/+358They made the jewish guy's nose bigger.
Real classy, FAUX NEWS. - AxmxZ, on 07/02/2008, -13/+307"He's still not ugly enough. Use the "Jew-up" tool!"
- Aleriya, on 07/02/2008, -7/+276A broadcaster as big as Fox should be able to hire someone with skill to manipulate their photos! You'd think they would at least TRY to cover their tracks. Or maybe that's just a sign of how arrogant they are.
- Jordan117, on 07/02/2008, -9/+277You have got to be ***** kidding me.
And you know they'll just excuse it by claiming "it's just a morning show, not hard journalism, no sir." - inactive, on 07/02/2008, -8/+249Unfortunately, they can still vote.
- lukas42, on 07/02/2008, -20/+240WARP TOOL FTW!!!
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -17/+180I just got in an argument with someone on digg a couple days ago about how the right acts childish and tarnishes their facts with silly gestures... Boy I wish I had this article a couple days ago. At least for the liberals, we have REAL comedians on our side, you know, guys that admit to doing comedy rather than playing dress up on a news channel.
- marabout40, on 07/02/2008, -27/+176Who watches Fix News? Who? Who are these people?
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -9/+150Does anyone still believe that Fair & Balanced meant Fair & Balanced? Fox is no better the the National Enquirer. Only meaner.
- onehandhigh, on 07/02/2008, -13/+141I could have done a better job using MS Paint for crap's sake!
- whatthefu, on 07/02/2008, -8/+124Holy *****, this is beyond unacceptable.
- redcolumbine, on 07/02/2008, -2/+113What, no crayon mustache and arrow through the head?
- luke16, on 07/02/2008, -17/+111Fox News is worse than terrorism.
- Beanbones, on 07/02/2008, -4/+96Also: "We suck at Photoshop. Really. We do. News at 11."
- swrostmore, on 07/02/2008, -8/+91Fox News viewers don't even care, its right out front. They believe all dissenters should be slandered and demonized. That's the proper role of a propaganda outlet.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -3/+82in european countries, its actually illegal to broadcast opinion and conjecture as news. your 'news' must be able to be substantiated and verified. There was also a time in this countries pre-reagan where if you did a news show, you were required to actually report factual news since you were using the airwaves which is part of the commons. You didn't have to do it 100% of the time, but you had to dedicate a certain amount of time to it. Now it is not required. You can say anything.. verified or not, substantiated or not, truth or not and still call it news.
Fox news programs like fox and friends and all those other ***** shows are nothing more than evolved jerry springer shows. - NikoKun, on 07/02/2008, -3/+81Just when you thought Fox News couldn't get any lower... They resort to photoshoping...
They are now officially a Tabloid. -_- - mofw, on 07/02/2008, -9/+86Fox News is terrorism.
- Hangly, on 07/02/2008, -2/+76Effects>distort>Jew_up>68%
- Jpardue, on 07/02/2008, -13/+82Fox News = 2girls1cup
- neognostic, on 07/02/2008, -5/+69Not if we put out a newsflash that the polling places will be manned by gays and Muslims to track voters rights, and that they will be questioning each and every voter at length.
- villageatheist, on 07/02/2008, -5/+68This is beyond absurd. How is this not considered libel?
- nretamp, on 07/02/2008, -4/+57Did anyone actually read the article they called "a hit piece" on fox news? It was good, based on facts, and not at all a hit piece.
"While Fox News remains the most-watched cable news channel over all — it has been attracting an average of nearly 2 million viewers each weeknight this year, compared to 1.3 million for CNN and 805,000 for MSNBC — its momentum has effectively stalled, at least when measured over years past."
The article had quotes from republican strategists and conservative organizations discussing factual trends in tv ratings and potential causes, like the crazy presidential primary season.
Steinberg even ended the article with "Still, no one is ready to count out Mr. Ailes, or Fox News."
How dare they call it a hit piece and then post those ***** pictures. It's a disgrace and shows just exactly who is acting as the "attack dogs." - MTessa, on 07/02/2008, -0/+50So much news to cover reporters are spending time on each other. F&^King idiots. How about that war that's ruining the lives of people all over the world. John Stewart had the lead reporter for CBS assigned to Afghanistan on recently. She said she has to fight to get any of her stories on. Her news director said something like it's getting old and viewers are bored with the war. Yeah I'm sure all the families in the US losing their sons and daughters and the families in the middle east are terribly bored. Just wrong.
- jstohler, on 07/02/2008, -13/+61Our grandparents.
- PabloMac, on 07/02/2008, -1/+45That's not even subtle.
As a joke, I once Photoshopped my wife's uncle's headshot pic to give him a little baldness and flab, and he wound up using it in brochures and posters for more than a year before he made a comment about having to find a new portrait photographer.
I never told him the truth. - inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+42And it's not even good Photoshopping!
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -16/+57Not very many people.
On election night 2006, a night that one would expect "news" channels to have a large audience, FNC drew 3.4 million viewers. CNN drew 3.4 million viewers as well. Nearly seven million viewers of the two "most popular cable new channels." Impressive? Well, Nickelodeon drew 7.2 million viewers with it's repeat of the Spongebob movie.
The two largest cable news networks COMBINED lost on election night to a repeat of a children's movie. When FNC tells you how popular they are... they aren't. - thefirstenemy, on 07/02/2008, -2/+42"He worked -- I think he was the editor in charge of TV Guide until circulation went down under his tenure -- "
That quote kills me. Like, I don't know, the guy isn't really smart enough to figure out that maybe, just maybe, most of the people who read TV Guide have got those new-fangled TV guides in their TVs now. Or they died off. - DeskFlyer, on 07/02/2008, -0/+40If you're going to photoshop an image, at least make it look like it's not photoshopped. What a bunch of tools.
- mochaman, on 07/02/2008, -1/+41Don't keep your hopes up. They are on hiatus for two weeks.
- jordanleegauci, on 07/02/2008, -7/+42419 diggs and not on frontpage?
- ZenMojo, on 07/02/2008, -1/+35But when they get back...it'll be beautiful.
- fictionalOne, on 07/02/2008, -1/+33I'd rather watch the latter.
- eltrev, on 07/03/2008, -0/+30"We distort reality in every way possible. You decide."
- evilsnoopi3, on 07/02/2008, -2/+33You would think Rupert Murdoc's multi-billion dollar corporation could hire graphic designers with at least some Photoshop skills...
I would be angry that once again FOX is out to denigrate what they see as the "liberal media" (though it should be noted the Times is the newspaper of record for a reason...), but really I'm just embarrassed that I could do a better job doctoring photos than their paid professionals. Seriously, all they could come up with is some warp tool/stretch? The pictures don't even look like people, just lifelike caricatiures. - blackinthmiddle, on 07/02/2008, -2/+32Well we have liable and slander laws here as well. Unfortunately, to be convicted of these crimes, it has to be proven that you *knowingly* lied (either verbally or in print). Doctoring someone's picture is not a crime. Saying, "Obama's baby's mamma" is not a crime. Saying, "Is that a terrorist fist jab?" is not a crime. Continually harping on what someone's pastor said (while giving a free pass to McCain's pastor) is not a crime.
Unfortunately, the only way to get crap like Fox News to clean up their act is to get their viewership down, but since they're the number one rated cable "news" station, they'll continue to snub their noses at thinking people and do exactly what they want. - blackinthmiddle, on 07/02/2008, -0/+28They're tons worse. Very few people take the Enquirer seriously. Too many listen to Fox and sop up their ***** like it was their last meal!
- Fordi, on 07/02/2008, -4/+31Yes, unfortunately. As in, democracy has to work despite being strongly influenced by people too stupid to recognize that they're being manipulated.
Would I change it? No. Though, I'd make things like what Fox has done - manipulate information in order to better their 'position' - illegal and strictly enforced. - franklyzappa, on 07/02/2008, -0/+25This almost seems unreal.
- mecanofan, on 07/02/2008, -10/+35My God!! Fox News is the mother of all media evil!! They should get fined for doing sh!!t like that!!!
- AxmxZ, on 07/02/2008, -0/+25Keith Olbermann is going to ***** enough bricks over this to build a new Taj Mahal.
- kpwells, on 07/02/2008, -3/+28"our side" jesus, when will this partisan bickering cease? "I'm right and you're wrong" constantly being spewed back and forth really gets old and gets us nowhere. I'm an Independent because I don't subscribe to all the beliefs of a single party and i don't want to blindly follow the messages of one party and get tangled up in something resembling brand allegiance
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -1/+25How lame, you can totally tell that it's fake cuz' it's blurry as hell. If you're gonna hire somebody to alter some images, at least hire a pro. It looks like some 10 year old kid who just figured out how to use the liquify tool did it.
- slstudios, on 07/02/2008, -2/+262G1C and Fox News watchers have one thing in common: both are fed a load of crap.
- ColinTobin, on 05/21/2009, -5/+30WWOS?
What would Orwell Say? - PATSCRU, on 07/02/2008, -4/+27That's just wrong in so many ways...Way to make yourselves look like a bunch of spiteful 12 year olds Fox.
