- northwatuppa, on 07/01/2009, -18/+265Glenn Beck says with reference to the election of a comedian to the Senate, "it is evidence of how crazy this country has become . . . this doesn't look like the country I grew up in."
To that I always think that the popularity of FoxNews is evidence of how crazy this country has become. When I see FoxNews programming (mostly on Digg), I say to myself, this doesn't look like the country I grew up in. - Gr00ver, on 07/02/2009, -26/+217Congratulations Al Franken.
***** you Fox "News".
***** you Glenn Beck. - jeffbw, on 07/01/2009, -13/+196Yeah, Glenn is the one to talk about crazy.
- holesome, on 07/01/2009, -17/+156Exactly - it's no surprise they're raging against the court's finding. These folks are as anti-Franken as it gets, and nobody should forget that for a minute, because they'll be on him daily like fleas on a dog.
- Jehutes, on 07/02/2009, -7/+135"You don't want Al Franken as a senator."
Well, apparently we do. That's what a democracy is all about you pig. - Wreckage, on 07/02/2009, -4/+132They keep referring to Franken as a "comedian" in order to downplay him.
Did any Republican ever watch any of Ronald Regan's movies?
Not sure how they can throw stones while living in such large expensive glass houses. - sulthernao, on 07/02/2009, -4/+120Of course the are foaming at the mouth. Al Franken has been bashing Bush and Cheney for their preplanned Iraq war, their attempts at "counter terrorism" and the right wing nuts like Limbaugh who enabled it for years.
They are scared that a Democrat who actually has balls and won't take ***** from them got elected. - NiftyG, on 07/02/2009, -12/+121I like that Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly have to call him 'Senator Franken' from now on...
- sooperdooper, on 07/02/2009, -1/+92When Glenn Beck was 16, a Hollywood actor was elected President. So this kinda does look like the world he grew up in.
- 16x9, on 07/02/2009, -14/+87I always respected the WS Journal's ability to speak to its core audience. I'm saddened to see it becoming little more than a mouth-piece for the lunatic-fringe of the Republican party.
- NotAChickenHawk, on 07/02/2009, -6/+68From the article, they quote Beck as saying: "This is like having me in the Senate," Beck said. "You don't want me as a Senator! What is that? I mean, it shows how crazy our country has gone -- you don't want me as a Senator, you don't want Al Franken as a Senator."
Well, Mr. Beck, I'd say you're half right. - inactive, on 07/02/2009, -2/+62They got the presidency due to a court decision, and they're pissed about losing a senate election?
- tornadojoe, on 07/02/2009, -3/+57For a bunch of idiots who say they love freedom, they sure hate democracy.
- wineinc, on 07/01/2009, -9/+60I have a feeling Franken is going to fight back effectively against the right wing slime machine. He might win.
- kaosethema, on 07/02/2009, -5/+54ronald reagan acted alongside a monkey
and before being the president, he acted alongside a monkey.... - jstohler, on 07/02/2009, -3/+48Glenn Beck just issued a response to your comment: "Me crazy? Metal flake ginger go brack laugh muffin! Purple cord dirt wash under foil car medicine? Blork!"
- Ineedanap, on 07/02/2009, -8/+533/10 keep practicing and you will get trolling down.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/02/2009, -15/+59The same "news" corporation that won the rights to tell lies as facts. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/15/21055/ ...
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -0/+42They won't. They'll call him some made up sophomoric name that gets their audience all jizzed up.
- Vermifax, on 07/02/2009, -2/+41You spelled "Bush" wrong.
- bigpixl, on 07/02/2009, -2/+39… Evidence?
- deathandtaverns, on 07/02/2009, -1/+37At least comedians have to write jokes. Actors just read lines.
- 10lbhammer, on 07/02/2009, -0/+33exactly what I was thinking. so a politically minded comedian gets elected to the senate. how is that worse than a half-ass actor getting elected to the presidency?
- CB810, on 07/02/2009, -5/+38He's smarter and savvier than you'll ever imagine being...
- arTech, on 07/02/2009, -8/+38They're drinking wine from sour grapes on that channel
- noupsell, on 07/02/2009, -10/+40Ha Ha can't think of a more worthy bunch of idiots to see eat ***** than those dipsticks at Fox
- m3arvk, on 07/02/2009, -2/+32I like the part where obesity prevents understanding.
- AptToMiss, on 07/02/2009, -2/+32"You thought it was crazy when a wrestler became governor of your fun city..."- Brian Kilmeade
Jesse Ventura is pretty cool by me, and how dumb are you to think that a governor rules over a city let alone think that Minnesota is a city. Oh fox! - Shadic, on 07/02/2009, -3/+32That graduated from Harvard? Seems like a decent choice to me. Besides, his judgment is to withheld until he actually gets into the action.
- thelab101, on 07/02/2009, -1/+29didn't the ***** guy go to harvard?
- Railz, on 07/02/2009, -0/+27And Reagen was an actor. Entertainers are the most outspoken politicians then any old blood.
- novenator, on 07/02/2009, -0/+27He's a lot better than ***** crazy Bachmann
- enantiodromia, on 07/02/2009, -0/+27seems to me, the best the Republicans could do, was lose to a third rate comedian.
your move. - captspaulding, on 07/02/2009, -1/+28They recounted once. Which they had to do under state law. Coleman is the one trying to get more rightly rejected absentee ballots opened in the hope of increase his numbers enough to win. But the supreme court decided to follow Minnesota state law. So, in the end, they said the guy with the most votes (craziness!) won the election.
- novenator, on 07/02/2009, -5/+32Conservatives are so stupid it hurts. When you make comparisons like this, or trying to compare the Islamic terrorist who shot the recruiters to the right wing terrorist that shot George Tiller in his ***** church of all places, you only demonstrate why the country has moved on and no longer listens to any GOP talking points.

A couple sites you may also watch on Fox "News" Reporting. Come on....I'm not going to devote my life to watching Fox to get my view point that I already know is wrong.
It is wrong to torture and kill innocent people, but that doesn't mean that I have to watch that all day just to become more informed. I already know what is going on. - inactive, on 07/02/2009, -4/+30I agree wholeheartedly. The Fox "News" channel is a dangerous outlet of lies, smears and distortions and right-wing propaganda.
If President Obama single-handedly cured cancer tomorrow, Faux's headline would be something like:
"Obama Health Policy Fails Heart Attack Victims, Elderly
Will He Stop Ignoring Deaths Caused by Liberals?"
Fox was first to allow (and most anxious to help) Dick Cheney many hours of free and unchallenged airtime to spew his lies and distortions about the illegal torture of prisoners by the Bush/Cheney administration.
They also routinely, "accidentally" mis-identify as Democrats those Republicans who are caught up in scandals.
The network is like a pus-covered sore on the nation's face, except that this comparison is not fair to pus-covered sores.
The advertisers that support Fox (including Bush's Baked Beans, Bayer, Jos. A. Bank clothiers and others) should be avoided until they stop giving dollars to help Fox do what it does. They should be contacted by phone and email to tell them why they have lost your business.
And, Fox and all of its affilitates and subsidiaries should be avoided. That includes your local Fox station, Myspace, The Wall Street Journal, The Speed Channel and The New York Post, among others.
Just as a suggestion, why not try the following? Set aside ten minutes on a pre-determined day of the week to send a once-a-week boycott email to one of Fox's advertisers or affiliates... and another five minutes to spread the word about the boycotts. - AngustheCat, on 07/02/2009, -2/+27What did you think would happen after Murdoch bought it?
- subclavius, on 07/02/2009, -0/+24If former jobs are a disqualifier, then we shouldn't allow former beauty pageant contestants in politics either. Suck on that Murdoch.
- ianzu, on 07/02/2009, -0/+23Depends on your rating system. I'd rate him highly, given that he's made his living for the past 30+ years as a comedian, something that 99% of comedians fail to do.
Plus comedians can often come up with solutions to problems that "normal" people couldn't ever think of, because they're always looking at things from many different angles. - lhbaker, on 07/02/2009, -3/+26You guys hate the Democratic process when it works in the other guy's favor.
- lhbaker, on 07/02/2009, -1/+24Your forgot author, TV writer, scholar and talk show host. Also, graduated from Harvard.
Just for the record, what qualifies you to judge? - rwiggum, on 07/02/2009, -1/+24Pppph. Come on, you don't know? The "Evidence" is all fake too! Only I know the truth, and everyone should just listen to my baseless, knee-jerk partisan ***** and take it as fact!
/s - inactive, on 07/02/2009, -5/+28How did he do that? Wait, did you hear that on FOX 'news'? Then it must be true. /s
- trolleyfan, on 07/02/2009, -4/+26Heck, their suing him has already led to him being elected...
- MikalYungHistri, on 07/02/2009, -2/+24My mom still insists that Fox News is "the best" without any real justification. I have already started a list, but can anyone point me towards a few of the best clips (preferably from neutral sources like youtube, not the huffington post, etc.) that I can show her to prove to her just how much of a joke it is?
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -1/+23If I went completely ***** insane then, and only then, could I understand Glenn Beck.
- lhbaker, on 07/02/2009, -2/+24They're not just anti-Franken. They are completely opposed to Democracy and Justice, especially when it works in the other guy's favor.
- ianzu, on 07/02/2009, -3/+25Yeah because counting every vote is for losers...
- IpecacNeat, on 07/02/2009, -0/+21That's Senator Franken to you eddie...
