^ This is the very first news story on Jeremiah Wright - kmalik, on 03/21/2008, -53/+130Thank you for this great video!!! Why arent people talking about this. Obviously people are really scared that Barack may become president and this is the only way to attack him. Keep up the good work in the community...god bless you all.
- stix213, on 03/21/2008, -18/+75The chickens coming home to roost quote was never a major part of what even Fox news was reporting. The main quote of "Not god bless America, but GOD DAMN AMERICA!" is what has been Fox news has been really playing. I'm not sure what context "god damn America!" would sound reasonable. Also, Fox news has been playing quotes where he says that the US government released HIV to kill the colored people of the world. In what context is that acceptable?
Anyone who claims that the Fox has been repeating the "chickens" quote obviously doesn't watch Fox news. I'm sure they played it a few times, but it was never a major part of the story. Buried for inaccurate. - smotpoker, on 03/21/2008, -38/+83Fox news lies about *everything*. Big surprise.
You should repost this story and substitute "Fox News" with "CNN" as well. Some people actually still think they're credible which they clearly are not (nor is anyone who repeats the stupidity produced by Fox News) - martalli, on 03/21/2008, -21/+58I love the irony that he was quoting Ambassador Peck! Somehow I never quite heard anything about Fox News, or the "it was a white guy who said that, not a black militant"...even on NPR!

- NoStoppingUs, on 03/21/2008, -16/+30p.s. remember that story you guys went ***** over about how obama's passport info was breached? guess what? it happened to clinton and mccain as well. but take a look at the first comment from the story:
"This is sketchy on all levels. And now it appears it was accessed on three occasions times by the three different people (the first two of which have been fired), MSNBC is reporting on Countdown as I type this. This is an appalling breach, and I would not be surprised to find out that this was not some curious employee. And the most shocking part is how long it has taken for the State Dept to report this to Obama (Rice called Obama's Senate Office THIS AFTERNOON). Chances are this was the doing of the Bushies, not the Clintons or McCains."
here's a link to the comments
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Breach_of_Obama_ ...
i would be embarassed if i were any of you guys, but facts dont matter as long as obama's the victim, right? - PopePhred, on 03/21/2008, -21/+34Not bad. I do appreciate seeing the entire video in context. Though I believe that some of Rev. Wright's comments have the ring of truth (or at least the spirit of truth), I think that regardless of proper context, the image of Rev. Wright damning America has been burned in the mind of the majority.
- KeirGordon, on 03/21/2008, -18/+29Who was he quoting when he said the US Government created aids to kill black people? Oh Yeah --- The guy is a real genius, Fox News was just hiding his intellect from us!
- roosterjm2k2, on 03/21/2008, -7/+18Well, lets see...our unprovoked invasion and our current refusal to leave has led to thousands of iraqi children being killed, starved and deprived of basic needs...so...yeah, we pretty much are.
- inactive, on 03/21/2008, -3/+14Maybe some idiot from Texas will get appointed after losing the general elections, invade a country because he's mentaly retarded and then you'll re-elect him and pay him to infringe your rights and treat you like *****?
And then ignore the fact that Tent camps are popping up all over the place, populated by professionals who lost their homes and their jobs? - zephc, on 03/21/2008, -9/+19There are many problems with our country. I wish people could stop waving their flags long enough to realize this
- sanman, on 03/21/2008, -3/+12"typical white person"
http://tinyurl.com/2loeyh - frio80, on 03/21/2008, -5/+14Snore... Man I'm tired of all these ridiculous Fox news story headlines on Digg. Where is the headline for ABC, MSNBC, and CNN? They didn't cover this story??? Boooring.
- XBSHX, on 03/21/2008, -5/+14Why single out Fox? I mean I dislike Fox as much as everyone else but all of the other networks were doing the exact same thing.
- bmorlok, on 03/21/2008, -8/+16Did you even WATCH the video?
- OneAndOnlySnob, on 03/21/2008, -2/+10The full quote: "The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."
- Theving, on 03/21/2008, -1/+8How can someone tag this as inaccurate?
It is just a source for seeing the actual context of those clips, and I must say it does change the overall message. I think Obama got it wrong. Wright does recognize many good things this country has done. He also criticizes it harshly for some of the horrible things it has done. - jbhannah, on 03/21/2008, -2/+9I try to hear as little from Fox News as possible. Good life advice in general.
- exomni, on 03/21/2008, -1/+8What the *****? It's one thing to quote James H. Cone in an article about Jeremiah Wright, it's an entirely different thing to quote James H. Cone in an article about Jeremiah Wright without telling anyone you're quoting James H. Cone, and acting as if the James H. Cone you're quoting were actually Jeremiah Wright.
- kefentse, on 03/21/2008, -17/+24The media in general sucks. Are you telling me that NO major news outlet bothered to view this video??
- Gunite, on 03/21/2008, -1/+8"Check yourself before you wreck yourself."
The "god damn America" statement in context:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RvMbeVQj6Lw - bmorlok, on 03/21/2008, -1/+8Please post the HIV one since I haven't been able to find it.
- sherijrich, on 03/21/2008, -22/+28Thank you for getting the truth out. Rev. Wright- the media, the country owes you an apology. And I'd like to thank you for your service to your community, and your service as a Marine to our country.
- MrErr, on 03/21/2008, -4/+10"Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate" ..... why? This is a video which everyone can see what was really said! why this warning????
- WraTH017, on 03/21/2008, -3/+9YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW SPECIFICS? You're saying fact is irrelevant, and blind judgment is good enough for all of us? For you maybe, but that's only because you're an idiot.
- BIim, on 03/21/2008, -7/+13I agree. I've never heard any quote from this sermon, much less something that was taken out of context. In the video that most media networks (not just Fox news) show, Wright isn't even wearing the same clothes as this video. Again, buried for inaccurate.
- bmorlok, on 03/21/2008, -3/+9Yes, lets compare him to hitler, that is a fair and correct comparson.
- gmlongo, on 03/21/2008, -4/+10Not part of any party? Please..
- theballdredge, on 03/21/2008, -1/+6godwined. you fail.
- stix213, on 03/21/2008, -4/+9LOLz, dumbass! The republican race has been locked up for some time! Democrats are coming out in record numbers because their race is so close. There hasn't been any reason for a republican to go vote in their primary since florida.
When the election actually matters you will see the republicans come out to vote. Especially when there is a chance to stop Obama's socialist policies. - roosterjm2k2, on 03/21/2008, -0/+5Yes he is....but I laughed.... :)
- youareretarded, on 03/21/2008, -3/+8You don't need to know the specifics? So you admit that playing 20 second sound bites works on you?
Wow, I feel sorry for the person that has to feed and dress you every morning. - myxodextoxmaybe, on 03/21/2008, -2/+7Black Nationalist? Tied to radical Islam? Poor sir. Someone reads Myspace bulletins without doing any research. Why on earth would Barack Obama be a black nationalist? His father came from Kenya. His mother was white. His family wasn't enslaved by the US. He, like most Americans, regrets and condemns America for these actions a couple of hundred years ago. He wants equality. Not for African Americans. But for Americans. And I don't think I should even bother touching the radical Islam point. You are going to believe what you want to believe. Show me definitive proof. If anything, the videos posted here show that Barack's church, while controversial, does indeed teach from the Christian Bible. So....unless Barack Obama has been setting up his run for President 20 years ago he is not a closet radical Islamist.
- stix213, on 03/21/2008, -1/+6It is on the DVD the good Reverend himself sells
- petebot, on 03/21/2008, -4/+9This whole "scandal" is a ***** story to begin with. I don't give a ***** what Reverend Wright thinks about anything. He's not running for president.
- Zlorp, on 03/21/2008, -1/+6but he used it to try and give example of how america's foreign policy has turned into "shoot first, ask questions later". it had nothing to do with race.
- Antares29, on 03/21/2008, -0/+5Who said America ALWAYS has been equal? Why the hell should I have to listen to you bitch about something that happened a hundred or more years ago? Get the hell over it already! Blacks can vote and live exactly the same lives as white people can. Women can vote and own property too. Heck, Asians are doing better than whites are right now. And oh gosh, Indians got roughed up a few hundred years ago! It's all my fault, since I'm a big fat American today. *sob*
And cmon, Gays? Marriage is just about the only right that isn't equal for them. They can vote, they can own property. Their main fight is with the crazy religious people.
Seriously, get your head out of your ass and look around at the world today, not in the history books. - stix213, on 03/21/2008, -3/+8And besides, Obama himself denounced the comments! So, all you people acting like everyone got tricked by Fox News, and Obama is some victim of a mis-information campaign are either lairs or gullible dumbasses - you choose.
- stix213, on 03/21/2008, -0/+4Did you watch Fox New's coverage? Fox News has been focusing on the "GOD DAMN AMERICA!!!" quote and is giving very little airtime to the "chickens" quote. Please, before accusing a news company of lying can you at least watch the coverage?
- Gunite, on 03/21/2008, -1/+5This whole controversy illustrates what is wrong with this country on so many different levels. First, news agencies quoting Wright out of context. I was surprised at the quality of the audio in this video, because the ones I saw "from youtube" on Foxs news all had terrible sound quality. Of course that was simply part of the masquerade. Then you have the inability of the public to think for themselves and readily latching on to the quotes of fervor, in or out of context. You have people buying into the theory of character assination by association, with no real knowledge of Wright or his true character, or his true relationship or influence over Obama. Then there is the fact, that much of what Wright says is correct (as in this video), but that people are so full of themselves and the greatness of the country, that words like "God Damn America" can never be correct in any context, period.
- Coded1, on 03/21/2008, -1/+5Charlotte, I've been clicking around Youtube looking at this Reverend's videos, maybe you would learn something by this man's words. Your leaders are going around playing ***** whack a mole around the world you would find that you are killing just as many regular people are you are killing those who would like to harm you. The ***** up thing is that the people who want to harm you are likely the family member of the regular people you killed. Whether it is you or your army or your president pulling triggers and pressing buttons it does not change the situation. The world does not hate / fear the American people them selves they are hoping that prodding you wakes up the sleeping giant and you at least show you are cognizant and in agreement across the board that you are doing this so we can get this over with. People are not sure how to look at you cause it seems that the government is driving and you seem to be a complacent passenger. I think from my own personal point of view I wouldn't be so concerned if you actually closed up your boarders, kicked out every "questionable" and started from scratch cause it would show you want to get to business. But going around saying your gonna kill the person or group that 'threatens' you by killing regular people just fuels the fire. You kill 'suspected terrorist A' by wiping a town of many off the map so now instead of taking care of one and saving the day you invite many more to fill the place just for different reasons. You are not making progress, you bullets are not stopping anything, you presence are not bringing presence of mind they are just pushing everyone against the wall. Why don't you make a stand or at least say to the world "I know many people not involved in hurting us are being killed but I believe my government is doing the best thing for me"
- exronin, on 03/21/2008, -2/+6Republican brigade at it again - marking the story as inaccurate.
- zephc, on 03/21/2008, -7/+11I see the super-patriot bury brigade is out in force today - keep burying your heads in the sand, denying that what the US has done to other countries has had repercussions. Grow the ***** UP, people, and admit bad choices have been made.
- Antares29, on 03/21/2008, -0/+4Just taking one small part of your post, but would you say God Bless America for slavery? Well, yeah...since God had no problem with slavery. Read the Bible some day. Titus 2:9, Colossians 3:22. Heck, Leviticus 25:44 straight up says: "Both your slaves, and your bondmaids, which you shall have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall you buy slaves and bondmaids."
So God is pretty cool about the whole slavery bit. Good thing America decided it was best to ignore God's will and actually treat all people as equals. Guess we don't get any kudo's for that. - Wargalas, on 03/21/2008, -12/+16You guys have had Congress for the better part of a year and a half now and what have you accomplished again? Oh that's right, empty promises and rhetoric. It's easy to point out other's mistakes, but now that the Democrats are in power, they are showing their complete incompetence.
- jhusband, on 03/21/2008, -9/+13The full vidie is must worse for Obama then the clip. Wright basically says we are attacking the children of Iraq.
- Malevolant, on 03/21/2008, -6/+10rooster you are a *****. You start by saying you aren't politically affiliated, yet you start tearing into the evils of Republicans. The point is both parties are to blame, and by ripping into only the republicans, you show you're biased and it's also quite clear that you are a Democrat. *****-a-doodle-do
- jayobear, on 03/21/2008, -1/+5Digg is only as left-leaning as the people who bring it there. Don't blame digg, blame the diggers.
And God forbid some diggers have left-leaning points of view....now we can't have that at all can we? -
