- cbartlett, on 06/27/2008, -115/+325When a REAL candidate records a message for us, then I'll be impressed.
- YesImAChick, on 06/27/2008, -37/+237Dugg only cause it was for digg.
- jiqiren, on 06/27/2008, -31/+221what the hell? he hates nuclear power?
- fadeout, on 06/28/2008, -16/+189He wants to power America with dreams and rainbows.
- wonderbriefs, on 06/27/2008, -24/+139Even if Ron Paul recorded a message for us, I wouldn't be impressed. The day Obama says, "Hey, quit spamming the boards with my name unless it's something truly useful" then I'll be Impressed.
- whistlerpro, on 06/28/2008, -18/+131Fear of nuclear energy is a misguided fear of nuclear weaponry - nuclear energy is fine. The waste is well contained and the plants are well protected. It's also the most productive renewable energy source.
New-Clear. - philovivero, on 06/27/2008, -20/+122As much as everyone seems to be jumping on the Obama bandwagon now that Ron Paul is out of the runnings, I'm just having a hard time jumping on myself. I don't really know much about Nader, but there are these huge issues that none of the candidates seem willing to even TALK ABOUT, but these are huge issues that the American populace all want to have talked about.
It's odd that we've allowed ourselves to become so complacent. - jluebbert, on 06/27/2008, -40/+136Dugg because Kevin Rose mentioned it on twitter.
- mofo269, on 06/27/2008, -6/+80"Digg it" How cute.
This shows that the politician's internet strategists are advising that digg.com is just as big as youtube which is pretty cool. - mjyazzie, on 06/27/2008, -9/+80I can't unhear Ralph Nader saying "Digg it" My poor ears.
Definitely cool that Presidential candidates are using Digg, YouTube, etc. to reach out. - ligyron, on 06/28/2008, -3/+71Come on, be nice. You know he made that video just for us, and him and his team are reading these comments.
- Blaircook, on 06/27/2008, -16/+79Really, "Hey Digg.com User"?
They should have went with, "Hey Diggers!"
Then I would have believed they actually understand the community. - hermslice, on 06/27/2008, -52/+103wait Ralph who??
- monkeytaint, on 06/27/2008, -7/+58Interesting approach. Thanks to some political intern for noticing us.
- KOSmurfy, on 06/28/2008, -2/+41I'm all for nuclear power, but is it really renewable? It still requires fuel in the form of fissile material.
- pentomino, on 06/28/2008, -11/+50Buried because the anti-nuke crowd are never confronted on how much safer nuclear power is than coal power.
Solar is awesome, and storing nuclear waste is definitely difficult, but there's really no more efficient energy source known to man.
We desperately need a viable third party candidate, but Nader isn't it. - tehroflmaoer, on 06/27/2008, -5/+42seems like all he did was slap "hey digg.com users" at the beginning
- spaceman84, on 06/28/2008, -4/+41GET OFF MY PORCH YOU DIIIGGGEEEERRRRR!
- YesImAChick, on 06/27/2008, -4/+38Don't forget the "Digg it" at the end.
- GJBlizzard, on 06/28/2008, -7/+40You're an ass.
Why would anyone do anything for you with an attitude like that. - TotalHalibut, on 06/28/2008, -12/+40Not your personal army.
- tnoy, on 06/28/2008, -5/+33Want to know who gave the country Bush? The people that stayed home and did not vote.
- stonebear, on 06/28/2008, -1/+27Let us not forget to thank Diebold.
- Jenadae, on 06/28/2008, -8/+34I appreciate that Nader is willing to converse about things the other candidates wont even touch, but that dosn't mean i agree with them.
- whaught, on 06/28/2008, -5/+29http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_uranium
Uranium is non-renewable and eventually both uranium and oil are dead ends.
Plus uranium as a fuel source appears cheaper than it really is because the government subsidizes the removal of nuclear waste, and who knows if dumping all of that into a cave in yucca mountain will really work out environmentally over time.
If renewables become feasible economically they will offer a reliable and clean source of energy. - dg81, on 06/27/2008, -35/+59This guy has been taking away Democratic votes for too long, please move on to another hobby, I watched because Kevin twittered it, it gets no digg from me though.
- leonardoty, on 06/28/2008, -23/+44Sorry Nader, Obama's got my vote.
:] - madpie, on 06/28/2008, -22/+42Nader thanks so much for giving us George Bush as president. It's been really swell. So glad to see you're back to help McCain.
- GrimPraetorian, on 06/28/2008, -28/+48Title should be: "Nader, back to ruin the election for Democrats again"
- rentmitchum, on 06/28/2008, -4/+24How about the religious right? Or douchebag republicans in general? How about blaming them? How about blaming the 2 party fallacy of having a 'choice' in our leaders. How about blaming something you should actually be mad about, and not getting mad about having more than 2 'choices'.
- Murdats, on 06/28/2008, -1/+20it does seem odd to me that someone would prefer to keep using the current system that pumps out pollution and radiation rather then upgrade to a stop gap technology that would not only meet increasing power demands but also does not harm the environment.
- KOSmurfy, on 06/28/2008, -0/+19too.
- Mejari, on 06/28/2008, -1/+15You really think Nader's knowledge of Digg goes anything beyond one of his staffers going "Hey, we have nothing better to do and no news organizations will talk to us, lets get Nader to make a video for Digg!" and they went to his office where he was sitting there twiddling his fingers waiting for someone important to call him and he said "Dig what? Will it get me the youngsters? I'll do it!"
- Yoshimaru, on 06/28/2008, -18/+32Nader has saved more American lives than all of the candidates combined.
- vault, on 06/28/2008, -7/+20Yes feel free to vote with your heart instead of your mind and choose Nader. The GOP thanks you in advance.
- tjl30, on 06/27/2008, -14/+27It's unfortunate that Nader doesn't have any chance and that America is only a two party system. But as great as Nader's Ideals are realistically he has no chance. I think he would have done more if he continued to be a lawyer or maybe a senator.
- wreckosaurus, on 06/28/2008, -6/+19Maybe you shouldn't focus on "bandwagons." Actually do some research and see where the candidates stand, there's a computer right in front of you.
- ProfessorSYM, on 06/28/2008, -14/+27"It's odd that we've allowed ourselves to become so complacent."
Speak for yourself.
As for the "bandwagon", Obama supporters were on Digg all along but were drowned out by the Ron Paul spam. Now that Paul is out of the race, some of his supporters have switched to Obama, some to Bob Barr, some to Nader, and some have stuck it out.
If Ralph Nader was serious about the issues that he brings up he would have spent the past eight years doing something about it. Instead, he pops up every four years to pretend to run for President. - ProfessorSYM, on 06/28/2008, -6/+18Right, forget his Harvard degree, public service, community organization, bipartisan outreach, rational politics, progressive outlook and ability to inspire complacent voters.
- AvidPreatorian, on 06/28/2008, -4/+16aaand -1 for THAT
- Vhaeos, on 06/28/2008, -0/+12Because if he ran as an independent he'd lose his seat in congress.
- bcasper1, on 06/28/2008, -4/+15I don't see how its really a infinite, renewable, clean resource when the waste that derives from it doesn't decompose for thousands of years. The concept is great, but the cleanest most efficient nuclear plant showers our planet in energy at all times, the sun and yet we barely use this free, clean, renewable and waste-less energy. so before we decide to build ugly and potentially dangerous nuclear plants around the globe which spew out un-degradable waste lets harness the sun and all its splendor.
- ZenMojo, on 06/28/2008, -1/+13Digger? Please.
- iPerphekt, on 06/27/2008, -13/+24Dugg for effort.
But not at all because I support him. - havokzero, on 06/28/2008, -1/+11You have single-handedly redefined what it means to be a sheep.
- SirWho, on 06/27/2008, -5/+15you would
- anarchistuk, on 08/11/2009, -12/+22Better to vote Nader than to choose the lesser of two evils.
- bales, on 06/28/2008, -1/+10Wow. I hear complaints from people about how the 2 party system needs to go. People then mock and ridicule candidates that don't belong to one of the 2 major parties. Is Digg full of hypocrites now?
- ProfessorSYM, on 06/28/2008, -2/+11Buried for the same reason.
- iamtenninjas, on 06/28/2008, -0/+9So, the general jist I've gotten from the responses is something similar to "***** democracy. ***** being a multi-party system. And especially ***** standing up for what you think is right."
These responses disappoint me, Digg. With all of the acts he's helped get passed that help us, this is the thanks he gets when he makes a video for Digg to show his stance? Wow.
I can't help but see the similarity with the mockery of his situation and that of the mockery of Kucinich from the Senate for trying to impeach Bush. Apparently trying to help out and having balls to stand up for what you believe in is mock-worthy. -
