- dagnabbit, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12I'm confused here. Do we know that he wasn't invited? Where is the evidence of censorship? I don't see McCain or Giuliani attending either.
- abitarecatania, on 10/11/2007, -8/+13Called and emailed this site requesting Dr Paul a seat at the debate, and sent $199 to Dr Paul's campaign.
- gypsynuke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5As someone who supports Ron Paul, I'd like to say this is crap. E-mail them with your opinions, don't spam their guest lists.
For mstebbins, why would you presume to speak for Dr. Paul? Yes I realize the 35,000 guests should indicate you were simply posing as him and his wife, but a lot of shoulds don't come true.
Stop spamming, you're making the rest of us look bad. Thank you. - bigronaldo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6@JOHNREB,
Actually, he was intentionally left out. The Free Market News Network reported on this. This is what they had to say: "Lew Moore, our campaign manager, called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it. To our shock, Mr. Failor told us Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate."
http://www.freemarketnews.com/WorldNews.asp?nid=44134 - gmason08, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3AND it is completely within our rights to let them know what we think about what they are doing.
- biggsdarklight, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Fact: Ron Paul was not invited to this. The reason some of the other candidates are omitted from the list is because they declined their invitations.
Fact: Ron Paul has never voted for a tax increase in his 10 terms in congress. My Opinion: If any candidate running for President deserves to be invited to a "tax relief" forum it is Ron Paul.
Fact: When asked why Ron Paul wasn't invited, Ed Failor, rep for Iowans for Tax Relief replied that they were only inviting "credible" candidates. Yet Tom Tancredo and Tommy Thompson are on the list and they are polling even lower than Paul.
Fact: The chairman of the forum claimed that "it's too late to fit Paul into the forum" and that the roster cannot be changed because it was set months ago, yet Duncan Hunter was on the list only last week and then was replaced by Jim Gilmore instead.
Sorry but this is a flagrant snub and Ed Failor first just blew Ron Paul off, and then got caught in a lie as to why Ron Paul can't attend. He frankly just doesn't like the guy and it doesn't seem like he's serving the best interests of "Iowans for Tax Relief" if that is the case.
Of course he doesn't have to invite Ron Paul, but that doesn't make this right. This organization apparently has no credibility. - gypsynuke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3No it's not an awesome idea. Sign yourself up or send them an e-mail with your opnion. Stop posing as a presidential candidate. Pissing people off does not build bridges, you're hurting the campaign.
- spreadtheword, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6I don't know why every time that an article about Ron Paul is posted and there are favorable comments, a group of people invariably think it's spam. Maybe the people that do this are just worried that there is an ever growing support for a man that believes in civil liberties, with a emphasis on free speech. If you are one of those people, let me assure you that when I look around at this great country and see uncontrolled corporate greed, an attack on civil liberties, a foreign policy that is isolating us from the rest of the world, taxes that stifle all but the richest, and government intervention in every aspect of my life I consider it a responsibility to the following generations of Americans that I make this country better than it is now. In other words I won't stop, and I'm not going away.
Since no doubt I'll be dugg down by those that I'm writing to, I would like to add, I(we) are doing it for you and all Americans. We aren't trying to lobby for anything from the government. In fact quite the contrary, we are trying to get back to a point where if the individual is strong again. Basically, if we as individual Americans are strong, America is strong as a nation. - BabaRamDass, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Paul's campaign contacted them and they were told that he was not invited and would not be invited. When they asked why, they were not given a reason.

"First, it isn't "Iowa" it's a private organization within Iowa. It therefore is fully within its rights to decide who to invite and why. Therefore, not censorship."
If I have a blog and I refuse to allow Democrats to post comments, I'm censoring Democrats. Because it's a private organization doing it (rather than government), I'll consider it the less-evil form of censorship. But make no mistake about it; it's censorship nonetheless. - BowieX, on 10/11/2007, -6/+7Done also. I mean, "Iowans for Tax Relief" would surely want Dr No. at their forum, unless the "Church of Scientology" has new competition for the most discrepant name ever.
- zerosister, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5I Just called the Iowa Forum..they switched me to another line with an answering service. I let my thoughts be known which is" I want Ron Paul at their forum". All this is really making me rethink about our political voting rights...do we or have we ever had them???????????
- grunk, on 10/11/2007, -4/+5There is a list of sponsors on Iowans for Tax Relief website. Let them know how you feel, also
- Libertarian4321, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4Ron Paul was blacklisted. He was the only candidate not invited.
Call the number and ask why Ron Paul wasn't invited and they'll just send you to a voice mail (1-866-218-4124).
Why is an group that supposedly stands for less government and lower taxes blacklisting the ONLY fiscal conservative in the Republican race?
"Iowans for Tax Relief" sounds like a sham group- just another group of "big government" fiscally irresponsible Republicans posing as fiscal conservatives. - mlmvh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Good news - Lew Rockwell pointed out on his blog that Coldwell Banker has removed its name from the list of sponsors of the debate!!
- jason43, on 10/11/2007, -9/+10Done
- mstebbins, on 10/11/2007, -8/+9I filled in the reservation form for Ron Paul and his wife Carol, total number attending 35,000, additional names "too many to list." LOL

Dear Fairtax, lighting expressions by shaw, Krishna Engineering consultants, Ed Failor, Steve Scheffler, Peter E. Voorhees, Tom Miller, Julie Reeves and David Stanley
I am Shocked regarding the article regarding PRESIDENTIAL candidate and 10 term Congressman Ron Paul not being invited to the Debate sponsored by the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance. This was reported on the RonPaul2008.com, Freeliberal.com, freemarketnews.com and also Freedomsphoenix.com websites. There is also a petition online that now has over 3000 signatures on it requesting Ron Paul be invited to the debate. I find this to be on of the most absurd stories I have ever heard! Ron Paul is unanimously considered the Tax payers biggest Friend, and as Pro Life Republican he is a champion for the RIGHTS of the unborn. Consistently:
* He has never voted to raise taxes.
* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
* He has never taken a government-paid junket.
* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
* He voted against the Patriot Act.
* He voted against regulating the Internet.
* He voted against the Iraq war.
* He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
* He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
As a Christian Conservative Republican, I need to know what kind of insanely daft reasoning you are using to not allow Ron Paul in your Debate. Further on Ron Paul's website it indicates that you were either RUDE or non responsive. This is UNACCEPTABLE!! Gentlemen, our country is at a crossroads, it is my firm belief that only a solid constitutional CHRISTIAN can lead this country out of the mess that it is in right now. I implore you to reconsider your decision for the good of the country and the rights of the unborn.
Mark my words gentlemen...you have yet to experience the full force of the Ron Paul Revolution. I suggesting very, very, very kindly that you would be well served to reverse your decision, APOLOGIZE to the distinguished congressman, IMMEDIATELY and allow Ron Paul to participate in your debate.
May Almighty GOD give you the strength to do the right thing!
Thomas Mario of the family Costanzo.
PS I understand that Mitt Romney is invited to the Debate yet he has a Pro choice position

Ron Paul Excluded in Iowa
Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance will host a presidential candidates forum on Saturday, June 30th in Des Moines. Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, and Tom Tancredo will participate.
Ron Paul, however, will not participate. Why? Because he wasn’t invited.
We heard about this forum from numerous supporters in Iowa who asked why Dr. Paul was not going to participate. Those supporters assumed that Dr. Paul was invited.
The campaign office had not received an invitation so we called this morning; thinking we might have misplaced the invitation or simply overlooked it. Lew Moore, our campaign manager, called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it. To our shock, Mr. Failor told us Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate. And when asked why, Mr. Failor refused to explain. The call ended.
Lew then called Mr. Steve Scheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, to talk with him. Mr. Scheffler did not answer so Lew left a message. He has yet to respond.
Why are the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluding the one Republican candidate who scored at the top of every online poll taken after the MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN debates? Why are they denying Iowans the opportunity to hear from the Republican presidential candidate whose popularity is growing by the day?
We couldn’t get answers to these questions from Messrs. Failor and Scheffler. Maybe you’ll have better luck. Their contact information is below.
It's ironic that on the same day we learned the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluded Dr. Paul from their candidates forum, we received a call from ABC News confirming Dr. Paul’s participation in its nationally broadcast August 5th debate to be held in Des Moines.

Iowans for Tax Relief But Not Ron Paul
The Ron Paul campaign just sent out an e-mail saying that the Iowans for Tax Relief will not allow Dr. Paul to participate in a debate they are co-organizing with the Iowa Christian Alliance. This seems strange, given that Paul placed second in a straw poll conducted at the NTU conference this weekend. Anti-taxers are generally pro-Paul.
The NTU conference is co-organized with Iowans for Tax Relief. My guess is that someone in Iowa doesn't like Ron Paul. Who could it be and for what reason, one wonders. Dr. Paul's position on Iraq? - des00s, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Here are numbers and email addresses for these bastards.

Allow a small group to continue to censor information which is popular with a larger group utilizing the fact that Digg grants more power to a No vote than to a YES vote or just step it up and ignore earlier offers to self police dupes. Considering that the censors are stepping up their censorship I am inclined to withdraw my previous reasonable offer to help police dupes and encourage others to do the same.
Concidering there are some that feel authorized to decide for all what may go "POPULAR" I am on the verge of encouraging a no holds barred effort to thwart the DECIDERS.
