infowars.net — Researchers funded by the federal government want to shut down the internet and start over, citing the fact that at the moment there are loopholes in the system whereby users cannot be tracked and traced all the time.

Haliburton recently selling technical equipment needed to build nuclear devices to Iran a few months back was the #2 most censored, fyi. :(

OMG. What a douche. LOL!
The people with all the $ trying to lead this world have such a puny vision of the future. They do not want to see that people are AWAKENING and that their attempt to CONTROL everything will fail.
Even here on Digg,... I wonder how many Digg users realize that the MOST relevant stories that get close to hitting the front page are immediately removed because they don't buy into certain special insterests that are all about trying to propogate fear, fear, fear, fear. So lame. So utterly, and completely lame. The lack of VISION of these controlling sycophants is astounding.
syc·o·phant
– noun: a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite.
These lame ducks are just trying to please their master, and their master is just trying to please THEIR master, etc. etc. etc. $ $ $. Lame. Lame. LAME.
GIVE UP. People are actually pretty decent when their not beaten into submission all the time.
Breath in the fresh air.
If this article gets popular, I wonder if we will once again see the result of those words that will resonate through all of time. "Pull it". LOL! - stalepie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Mega64 gave their view on Internet 2 some months ago:

- kayaker712, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I recall seeing an interview with the Hilary-beast about the Internet. She was whining and moaning that "Right now just about anyone can just start a web site and start saying anything they like, we need gatekeepers."
I think the interview was with Barbara Walters, she did not seem to want to dispute that idea.- BravoLima, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We have plenty of GATEKEEPERS on this site:

http://www.savetheinternet.com/ - erichnewell, on 10/12/2007, -17/+4For all I know this article could be spot on...but we'll never know. There aren't any sources quoted, the names of the research groups, senators allegedly sponsoring this....and the references to "Internet2" are wildly inaccurate.
No one is *turning off* the internet any more than they are planning to *turn off* the sun. - LifeInANutshell, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18There a six corporations that control all mainstream media in this country. Six.
For decades they've been deciding what news people get to receive and basically controlling real political debate in this country, even going so far as to manufacturing news stories.
The news networks have more in common with hollywood movies than they do with actual news. It scares them ***** that people are starting wake up and get REAL news from sites like infowars.net, davidduke.com, and stormfront.org.
Look to see a much more concentrated push to censor the Internet coming soon.- theevilbrain, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11lifeinanutshell is a Rat! He's a provacature! Infowars.net is nothing like those other racist websites he listed! You are trying to get people to link Infowars with hatespeech! Don't fall for this crap, people! Infowars has legitimate news sources!
- Mik1984, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Where? which ones?
- tiredofit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14This will happen. No one in power wants to share that power.
The Internet is knowledge.
Knowledge is power.
Knowledge MUST be suppressed.- BravoLima, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You tell em, Alex!
- craftycorner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10There should be more than one Internet, CHOICE FOR ALL!
- fxstc1993, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Workaroundz, hackz, crackz, IP cloaking Appz and open source encryption!!!! Once you've had a taste for the truth, you can't get enough and those that want to get it out will. There will always be a way to beat the system. The government is, has and always will be a decade behind the Internet's best and brightest. Someday we could see alternative news being distributed by "on demand" torrent feeds - single articles uploaded to and downloaded from, not one server, but from thousands of peers and seeds completely encrypted.
- Constitution, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11The police state is coming folks, and full speed at that! I'm afraid many of us will be alive to see our country litteraly come apart at the seams.
- mojibyrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11This kind of thinking needs to be stopped dead in it's tracks before it is too late, as the Government is already involved in our lives too much as it and are controlled by big business now and are not governing for the people...wake up folks and take back what freedoms you have or have had before it becomes a mute point.

- Bankal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The counter-culture as it stands today exists primarily on the internet. If they shut down the internet I think they would have an uproar of the likes they couldn't possibly imagine. If I were them I would prefer that people stay indoors, vaguely communicating with others via internet, rather than have us take to the streets and actually see the faces of the people that think like us. That solidarity would bring us power. That's why they will just incrementally "update" the internet, "editing" out those sites that don't fit into their overall view of the world. You'll log on one day and 911scholars.org won't come up, and then Google searches won't yield searches with the name Alex Jones in them. Dissenting voices will be sporadic and easily dismissed by the talking heads that sell their kool-aid. They will do this under the guise of National Security, speed, ease, safety (they will have several parties spinning different aspects of the changes), and customer service. It's all lip-service. They want to censor you and watch you every second (or at least make you think that they can), they want to know you mind-- so they can control it. Permanent power is the goal and we (the American People) are the biggest hurdle in the way. That's why they are slowly grinding us down--repealing Bill of Rights, killing the Dollar, selling our real-estate to the UN (parks), trying to take guns from citizens, and generally eroding our infrastructure. They want us weak, they want us to have to rely on them so they can inevitability pull the rug out from beneath all of us, or pull it just far enough to make us beg for the North American Union. What happened to personal RESPONSIBILITY in this country!?!? Register Republican and vote for Ron Paul in the primary (I just did so I can and I've never voted in my life), and then demand a paper documentation of your vote-- or vote for whomever you want, but at least demand that you vote can be proven! Those that ask for your freedom want it, and those who give it up don't deserve it. We must protect those who don't deserve the freedoms we share. We must change their minds. Eroding the Constitution is a grave perversion and we must fight to restore it, both on the internet and beyond. American Revolution 2.0
- globalstomp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The only way to keep the internet besides telling your reps to maintain net neutrality is to rid this country of the globalist and criminals in the White House. This is all part of the plan for total control and they want to end our edge against them on the war against the NWO. Start petition drives in your town and send the signed petitions to your reps after you talk to them and tell them your intentions. Flood the white house with faxes, e-mails and petitions. This is a very important story that you will never hear about and even if you call your tv stations they will not run this story I know I've tried many times. The controlled media is complict in this cover-up.
- hockeysmurf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Damnit! Just when we were starting to have fun.

- kcfalcon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Anyone ever had windows come in and automatically "update" your computer? I don't even use Explorer and have Zone Alarm set to disallow access to it yet mysteriously my computer has been updated without my permission and turned off by itself on two occasions while I was out of the room. They can get access to your computer easily or install an update which will self destruct the whole thing. And who do you think makes the many of the viruses? Wake up people they are trying to shut down the truth leak.
- darthchaosrspw, on 04/20/2008, -1/+2Buried for being Infowars spam.
