“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world - no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

- govtdoesnotwork, on 06/11/2009, -7/+67Ya know what's great? There's huge attention, as there should be, to the Holocaust Museum nutcase (except for the part about how he obtained a rifle as a convicted felon, of course). And there's even some attention on auditing the Fed, which is also a good thing. But there's 0 attention on:
http://digg.com/business_finance/Did_U_S_Export_Ov ...
Qualifies for a digg in the "holy crap, why isn't anyone noticing this!??!??" category. They've been exporting & selling the bars FDR confiscated from us for a long time, and they're 90% rather than .99x, which makes this criminality via definition possible. Gold is the most opaque business on the planet, except MAYBE silver...
FTA
...According to the Census Bureau, gold compounds include industrial type products containing low percentages or amounts of actual gold content, with gold paint being given as one example. Kirby mentioned to the USGS employee that the increase in net exports from 2007 to 2008 did not make sense given the global economic downturn. The USGS employee acknowledged that the figures did not make sense, which was one reason that the Census Bureau had been contacted to confirm the data.
Kirby then observed that the high value of such exports did not make sense if it could include only industrial goods, given the decline in global commercial activity. Rather, Kirby speculated the amount of gold exported indicated that it was more likely to be gold bullion or equivalent forms. To this, the USGS employee responded, "That would be correct."
So, for 2007 and 2008 combined, the U.S. exported 22 million ounces of refined gold and over 154 million ounces of "compound gold." This is more than 11 times U.S. gold mine production during those two years. In fact, this is higher than global gold mine output. ...
If this guy is wrong, how come all his numbers add up perfectly. - Xihix, on 06/11/2009, -3/+58AWESOME 222 CO-SPONSORS!

They're apparently pretty good friends; just because they disagree on politics doesn't mean they don't feel the other can't provide insight into problems. - richmomz, on 06/12/2009, -2/+27HR 1207 now officially has enough co-sponsors for a House majority - 222 (and still rising!)
- mrsteveman1, on 06/12/2009, -0/+23What if i just want to chat?
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+23He just supported it today.
- cmcagle, on 06/11/2009, -6/+291) Ron Paul, as a medical doctor, has worked FOR FREE when his patients couldn't afford care.
2) Please explain your conception of rights. If health care is a basic human right, where does it end? Housing? Automobiles? Flat-screen televisions? Just because the relatively affluent West takes certain things for granted doesn't mean those things are basic human rights. Only those actions which impose a negative duty on others can properly be considered a right. - inactive, on 06/11/2009, -0/+23I didn't know Ron Paul was so good at trolling.
- bizzywho, on 06/11/2009, -4/+26FTA: "The bill has surged past 200 cosponsors and is just five short of the 218 needed for passage."
This is beautiful! I can't believe we might actually be able to audit the Fed soon! - doctorgrim, on 06/11/2009, -3/+25Kucinich Rocks! Don't ***** with that little guy.
- NoTiG, on 06/11/2009, -5/+27Call me a pessimist.. but considering that 95% of congress is corrupt if this passes it is because they know it won't change a thing or may even help them in some regard
- cloviejr, on 06/12/2009, -2/+22Even if Obama wasn't an errand boy of the international banking establishment, he's not an idiot. Last President that tried to ***** with the Fed? JFK.
Veto'd - faithfreedom, on 06/12/2009, -0/+20Kucinich did it on purpose. He's the last vote for majority requirement
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -2/+20"No man is good enough to govern another, without that other’s consent." - Abraham Lincoln
You do NOT have my consent, you hear me FED? You hear me Congress? I do not regard the current government as legitimate, but as a tyranny of which I am a victim. - funkedup, on 06/11/2009, -3/+21People still don't have a solid understanding of monetary policy. It's quite sad when people advocate all these programs and entitlements and don't have the slightest clue on its long term effects. The fedreal reserve is just a helicopter printing press that politicans use to further their agenda. Hopefully, this bill will lead to greater things and abolish the fed once and for all.
- chrism123, on 06/11/2009, -2/+20just hit 222 co-sponsors
- Njon, on 06/11/2009, -4/+22Kucinich has done some good stuff, but all things considered he is clearly a liberal; way different from Paul. Plus, Kucinich still hasn't co-sponsored H.R. 1207.
- appleofdischord, on 06/11/2009, -0/+16Political opposites doesn't *necessarily* mean an awful combination.
Look up "group think" - Dzue, on 06/11/2009, -3/+19Call Kucinich to support HR1207 at (202) 225-5871
;) - sgerwel1985, on 06/12/2009, -2/+18Ron Paul is the friggin man. I have a feeling if this gets passed we'll see an end to the fed very soon... Or so one can hope.
- boulder555, on 06/12/2009, -0/+15An Honest dupe, it appears.
Unlike too many of the current decision makers.
Like the GOP.
WE screwed up and need to adsmit it.
We STARTED this bailout crap and we need to admit we screwed up in our reach for power.
The Bush's were a disastrous overreachreach for power coupled with abandonment of principle. Lets admit it and identify our new leader --- Ron Paul.
Right from the beginning. - BillE3, on 06/11/2009, -1/+16How about if I call you a realist. They have been corrupted by power and money (ours) to the point where they refuse to obey the will of the people.
- 1fastdak, on 06/12/2009, -3/+18As sad as it may be it its the truth. JFK was supposed to be a easily controlled pawn and played the part well until in office. Not saying they killed him but they definitely wanted to see him disappear.
- Minarchian, on 06/12/2009, -0/+14Kucinich HAS signed on the HR 1207...so I've been told.
So has Howard Coble, thanks to a call from me :) - Dzue, on 06/11/2009, -0/+14Hey, maybe that worked lol. Way to go Dennis!
- tpirfan28, on 06/11/2009, -1/+15I wonder how many more sponsors the bill will get if its found that Ben lied to the congressional panel about Bank of America's shotgun marriage with Merrill Lynch.
- Gryffydd, on 06/11/2009, -6/+19"Every human being has a right to health care."
And every human being has a right to not be forced to pay for the healthcare of others. So where does that leave us? - Kevin108, on 06/11/2009, -4/+17HuffPo ran with the story because of the 50 Dems going "me too". Government is like high school. You have to do the same thing as the popular kids to stay cool...and win reelections.
- alman783, on 06/11/2009, -5/+18Yea because private Charity NEVER helps people(Sarcasm)
Besides When You get rid of welfare the people have more money to spend and thus more money will go to private charity which does a much better job then the government.
Also.
Even now there are free health care clinics that ARE NOT supported by the government. - ltethe, on 06/12/2009, -0/+12They're on a string of good stuff lately. Less fluff, more tough questions. Less reposting of other organization's content.
I'm not saying it's great, but in the past 7 months, I think the huffpo is on a good trendline. - kevinmac22, on 06/12/2009, -1/+12"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -5/+16So, you have a right to force someone else to care for your health? Whether to provide it or pay for it?
So hypothetically, what if there aren't enough doctors to adequately service the publics health care needs. Does the government have the power to draft people and force them into medicine? How else does the government ensure that everyone is getting their right to healthcare?
Since when does any "human right" require service from another human? - Richandler, on 06/11/2009, -2/+13Why would someone digg down?
