- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -3/+189This lady needs to be unmasked around the country. The idea that the Fed can lobby Congress to block or promote legislation flies in the face of its Charter.
This should be illegal! - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+174wait... they're spending OUR money to lobby THEIR OWN existence? ..with money they're going to print? how ***** up is this country
- kemp34, on 06/07/2009, -2/+147The Fed hires a former ENRON LOBBYIST??
- SmokeyBBQ, on 06/07/2009, -4/+147END THE FED!!!
- mah2cent, on 06/07/2009, -1/+97It appears that Rep. Paul has finally gotten the Fed's attention. The next step should be to just "End The Fed".
- BlacklabelSAR, on 06/07/2009, -0/+88“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world - no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”
-President Woodrow Wilson

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-255015645 ... - smacksaw, on 06/07/2009, -1/+86The average rapist in a modern country needs privacy to commit their crimes. But when a rape happens in public, you know that your society is in deep trouble.
The average politician used to need privacy to do their backroom wheeling and dealing behind closed doors. Now they're just raping the gov't right out there in the open for everyone to see. It can't be much of a crime if they don't fear doing it in the open.
When I said I wanted transparency in gov't, I meant I wanted it cleaned up. I didn't want the graft to be out in the open as if it were ok. It does not matter where you stand on this issue, we need less lobbyists, not more. - Coinspinner, on 06/07/2009, -0/+67No deal.
We'll take the audit. - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+58rape and pillage more like
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -2/+56rape...that's a great description of what's happening to us.
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+50The Fed is not part of the executive branch. It is not reallybpart of the government at all.
- ridusoftyranny, on 06/07/2009, -6/+53This is so wrong. The Exectutive branch should not lobby the Legislative branch of our govnment. What about checks and balances? BTW - Lobbyist's frequently contribute to the campaigns of Congress members. I believe they can contribute up to $15,000 for each member. Let's see, 535 members of congress @ 15,000 per...you do the math. I won't even go into the other perks. Damn, this has to stop before it starts.
- silkheat, on 06/07/2009, -0/+46So we are paying them a 6% tax free dividend, while completely funding their operations with our taxes, and letting them double our money supply in complete secrecy in the last six months and all we are asking for is a little transparency? Now they are hiring a lobbyist with our tax money to fight against transparency? Sounds fishy.. If they have nothing to hide why do they fear transparency?
- smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -1/+46The fact that they are hiring a lobbyist just proves that they need to be audited.
If this bill passes, and we should all be praying that it does, the corrupt Federal Reserve can be exposed and be abolished. Our country will be much better off without it. They are the source of corruption in our country.
http://endthefed.us/ - nullvector, on 06/07/2009, -3/+42NOW you take notice that the government is out of control?
The fact that the government has to hire a lobbyist to lobby against itself is quite entertaining. - smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -0/+37I know it's a cliche, but the Federal Reserve is as federal as Federal Express.
People need to know this is a PRIVATELY owned bank. A privately owned bank controls our money supply and an unfortunate number of people, for some reason, seem to be ok with that. - royalecraig, on 06/07/2009, -0/+37Naturally the Privately run Fed doesn't want you to know you Borrow your own Money, they don;t want you to Print your own money.
They want you kept in the dark so you will borrow it intoi existance from them, at interest, rather than coining it yourself Free of charge.
This is why ron Paul says Income tax can be abolished.
If you coin your own money , free of charge, there is no loan to pay back, no interest, no govt debt, Hence absolutely no need for income tax.
If you still think borrowing your money into existance rather than coining it free of charge is the way to go, can I offer the US a deal, I will print money for you, borrow it from me and I promise to Undercut the PRIVATE Fed by 100%, no make that 200%, hey I'm feeling generous, make it 500%...It's only unbacked worthless paper anyway.
Aw what the Hell, I'll under cut them by 1000%
Can we call that a deal. - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -2/+36yes. She is an example of the political class that slides from academia into government into corporate lobbying. She is a terrible amoral power broker.
From Johns Hopkins website:
Before coming to Johns Hopkins, Robertson had spent more than 25 years working on federal legislative issues in both government and private sector positions. She spent eight years in senior positions at the Treasury Department, working for three secretaries: Lloyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers. She joined the department in 1993 as a deputy assistant secretary for legislative affairs, rising to assistant secretary for legislative and public liaison and then senior adviser to the secretary. She led the Clinton administration's congressional efforts to replenish the International Monetary Fund and to provide U.S. funding for Third World debt relief. She led the effort to enact the first overhaul of federal financial services industry law in 60 years and coordinated Treasury's legislative efforts to restructure the Internal Revenue Service. - govtdoesnotwork, on 06/07/2009, -0/+34This is traditional, not new. It violates the Hatch Act (IMO) but for anti-pot law lobbying of states, the feds can get away with it. I'm just glad they fittingly chose an ex-Enron lobbyist.
- richmomz, on 06/07/2009, -1/+33Robertson is PERFECT for the job! Since she used to lobby for Enron she already has experience shilling for a massively fraudulent organization XD
- beerhound, on 06/07/2009, -1/+30She should fit right in, both lost/are losing billions............
- compulsive1, on 06/07/2009, -1/+30Is it this Linda Robertson?
http://webapps.jhu.edu/jhuniverse/information_abou ... - jivatmanx, on 06/07/2009, -1/+28I read your post Cafferal.. This one's a real winner
She helped "Replenish" the IMF.
She helped "Overhaul" the financial services industry.
She coordinated the Treasury's efforts to "Restructure" the IRS.
That's a Grandslam of both buzzwords... and elite, anti-liberty organizations. - evergrim, on 06/07/2009, -0/+26More like printed trillions ...
- evergrim, on 06/07/2009, -1/+26So they are using their own money that they print out of thin air to hire somebody to fight against the people's eager intention to audit them? *twitchy eye*
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111 ... - Here's some info and a progress tracker for HR 1207
"To amend title 31, United States Code, to reform the manner in which the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is audited by the Comptroller General of the United States and the manner in which such audits are reported, and for other purposes."
Sponsored by Rep. Ronald Paul with 190 co-sponsors. - Briandrews15, on 06/07/2009, -0/+25The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. -Thomas Jefferson
- td001, on 06/07/2009, -1/+25Federal Reserve is NOT a part of our Government. It is a private run, for profit bank.
- tgc1, on 06/07/2009, -1/+24 OUTRAGE... MADNESS.... DISGUST...
I don't even ***** care anymore. You know why? Because the world has become a bunch of whiny, inattentive pussy babies. People whine knowing full well what the ***** has been going on. This has been going on for DECADES. And yet people, the ignorant masses of cowed sheep, continue to walk the line shown to them by these people (ie. the government -- aka. other people). Chasing the proverbial carrot on a stick. "Want the stick? See... here... stick stupid... stick... go fetch the stick you stupid animal"
I'm ***** tired of trying to shed light on a situation that has existed so long, and yet despite glaring evidence and writing clearly plastered, in billboard form no less, people continue on without care or concern. "Everything will be fine... the government is here to protect us..." they drone on. Well one day, when the government becomes The Peoples enemy, they will soon find that this is all NOT a dream. And we cannot all simply wake up. This is reality folks. We only get one try.
Wake me up when you guys want to go towards a revolution. You'll have my bow. And axe. And whatever the ***** else we can use to take back whats ours. Throughout history, there have been many empires that have risen and fallen. Each and every last one of them was toppled by The People.
Never, EVER forget who you are. - Briandrews15, on 06/07/2009, -0/+21most of it was never printed, it's as simple as typing numbers on your keyboard :/
- BotchaMcCoola, on 06/07/2009, -0/+21The big and powerful don't want their power and authority threatened. Similar to the Chinese rulers.
- richmomz, on 06/07/2009, -1/+21That's the one - former Enron lobbyist/shill to the stars!
- Coinspinner, on 06/07/2009, -0/+20Extremely.
- Khemo, on 06/07/2009, -0/+20This is ***** sickening...
- smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -1/+21The Federal Reserve is under no branch of the government. They can not currently be audited as well. If there is nothing to hide, then what's the problem?
- smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -0/+19Whoever controls the money supply controls everything!
This is a far larger issue than anything else facing our country. The Federal Reserve can instantly cut off credit and our country would collapse.
They are the cause of our recession/depression we are in right now! They cut credit and interest rates. That is why so many small businesses that run on credit are going out of business.
They control absolutely everything in our country because our country runs on the dollar. - richmomz, on 06/07/2009, -1/+19It's not part of the government period. The Fed has the authority to act on its own without any approval from Congress or the President. It's 100% privately owned and the board of governors is selected entirely from the private banker-owners. The President gets to select the Fed chief, but the selection has to be made from a group of people selected and pre-approved by the banks. What little oversight authority the government does have is a complete joke (no internal audit has ever been made publicly available, not even to Congress) - hence the dire need for HR 1207.
- smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -2/+20Can you explain why you think the Federal Reserve should be immune from all laws and mandates? Immune from audit by the Congress?
Whether you dislike Ron Paul or not, why should arguably one of the most powerful entities in the world have these immunities? - lavis88, on 06/07/2009, -0/+18Whoa, The Fed is not "the feds". The Fed consists of banksters regulating themselves.
- xerigen, on 06/07/2009, -1/+18The corporatocracy will do anything they can to hold down Ron Paul's bill to audit the fed. The bill has 190 cosponsors in Congress and will never see the light of day because the powers that be will illegally spend our money to continue to screw the little people. Unbelievable.
- richmomz, on 06/07/2009, -1/+18She's got experience shilling in Washington on behalf of a bunch of crooks - I'd say she's perfect for the job! XD
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -0/+16Capitalism doesn't exist when you have a Federal Reserve manipulating interest rates and flooding the market with money. In fact, a central bank is one of the tenets of marxism.
End the Fed! - smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -0/+16The Rothschild family, who owns the majority of the Federal Reserve, is the wealthiest family in the world. Buffett and Gates have nothing on the Rothschilds.
Not for profit my ass. - smdyson, on 06/07/2009, -0/+15Just another note. If the government can audit your bank statements, your internet usages, your cell phone records, your phone calls, your small business, any large business, any private bank or institution, then why can't they audit the Federal Reserve?
- lavis88, on 06/07/2009, -2/+16The Federal Reserve is the fourth branch of the government, they make the money, they do what they want. This is why HR 1207 is essential, it restores checks and balances on them.
- juankovo, on 06/07/2009, -1/+15Petersonca, please visit mises.org and start learning.
You are being robbed daily by the most powerful people in the world. Ron Paul is attempting to point that fact out to you, but you'd apparently rather mock and continue being robbed.
Even though you may not agree with him in all areas, it would at least do you good to learn what he has to say. Principled politicians are few and far between. When they come along, pay a little attention. - zeevik04, on 06/07/2009, -0/+13America lets wake UP. Lets call our congressmen lets sign petitions. We have to end this madness called the FEDERAL RESERVE PRIVATELY OWNED CENTRAL BANK.
Monday morning I am sending a letter to my Congressman Henry Waxman Rep 30th District of California. That says that we as people demand audit to the Federal Reserve. Please I beg you all who is awake and cares about his freedoms and his rights as an American. DO THE SAME-send a letter to your representative. They need to know that this what the people want. Also I am going to send a letter to this Lobbyist lady That the Federal Reserve is hiring and let her know that we as people object to her lobbyist efforts to try and throw away this proposition H.R. 1207 from the floor.
People we need to organize and do something to get this bill passed. If the Federal Reserve (Privately Owned Bank- by numerous powerful banker families) didnt have anything to hide, why would it want to hire Lobbyist.
It is not a meter of Democrats VS Republicans that is all they want, to think that politicians are the problem. Federal Reserve is the entity that controls money and money in turn controls all governments.
SPREAD THE WORD OUT. - LouisCipher777, on 06/07/2009, -0/+13"If the American people ever allow private banks

-Thomas Jefferson - foontala, on 06/07/2009, -1/+14Good job on bringing him back to the point. People all too often prejudice Ron Paul without any rational debate of their own, but this issue is truly one that every American should agree on.
"every effort has been made by the federal reserve
board to conceal its powers, but the truth is that
the federal reserve system has usurped the
government. it controls everything in congress and
it controls all our foreign relations. it makes and
breaks governments at will." ~congressmen louis t

"in the us today, we have in effect two governments.
we have the duly constituted government, then we
have an independent, uncontrolled and uncoordinated
government in the federal reserve, operating the
money powers which are reserved to congress by the
constitution." ~congressman wright patman
"the eyes of our citizens are not sufficiently open
to the true cause of our distress. they ascribe them
to everything but their true cause, the banking
system; a system which if it could do good in any
form is yet so certain of leading to abuse as to be
utterly incompatible with the public safety and
prosperity. the central bank is an institution of
the most deadly hostility existing against the
