- Alderon, on 05/06/2009, -1/+87This is a perfect case for why HR 1207 must be passed into Law - Audit the Federal Reserve. Call your US House Representative and get them to co-sponsor this bill today. There are 124 co-sponsors at this date, get your Representatives name on the list!
Thanks - PlutoIsApluton, on 05/06/2009, -1/+48The Fed is printing our money like crazy and handing it out to god knows who and the FED INSPECTOR GENERAL hasn't got a clue. This makes Bernanke's re-assurances about Fed auditing and oversight, when giving testimony yesterday under Ron Paul questioning, worthless. Check it out at 4:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N05mIiZkPIQ
"Clean bill of health" my arse. - aWombat, on 05/06/2009, -0/+33Scary. Just plain scary.

"Elizabeth A. Coleman was appointed Inspector General for the Board effective May 6, 2007. In this role, Ms. Coleman leads a staff responsible for promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness within Board programs and operations.
"The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also responsible for preventing and detecting waste, fraud, and abuse at the Board, among other duties. The OIG achieves its legislative mandate through audits, evaluations, investigations, legislative reviews, and by keeping the Chairman of the Board and Congress fully informed."

Ouch. - buffalogums, on 05/08/2009, -0/+26You're not alone. Nobody else on Capital Hill knows much about the Fed either.
- dancantone, on 05/08/2009, -4/+28Playing stupid is more like it.
The Federal Reserve is a private firm controlled by world banksters...I think it's becoming obvious to even the simpletons now what's really going on.
The End-Game they plan is a "New World Order" with every commodity centralized and dominated by the global elite in order to enslave or otherwise destroy the "useless eaters". - theskillwithin, on 05/08/2009, -1/+22Makes sense.
The FED is a scam, it is not even monitored. dont even dream of regulation.
Who controls the money controls the country. - dre229, on 05/08/2009, -0/+20This is why I support HR 1207
- CrookedFed, on 05/08/2009, -1/+20First sentence: "Yes, the Federal Reserve banks are privately owned..."
Here's the deal. The owners of the Fed have more money than you or I will ever understand. Our Income Taxes go right to them as payment for the interest on the money they loan to us. Think about how much money that is. They can and do buy whomever they need to. "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Why is it better for a privately owned central bank to create money out of nothing and loan it to us as a country with usury than for a country to create gold and silver backed currency?

Stop believing everything Edward Flaherty tells you. - inactive, on 05/08/2009, -1/+19There is this guy from Texas named Ron Paul she should consisder talking to him maybe?

- juk3box, on 05/08/2009, -1/+18support H.R. 1207. Audit the Federal Reserve System.
- curtisag, on 05/08/2009, -0/+16This is truly a unique case where liberals and conservatives alike should and must agree.
- Evolve, on 05/08/2009, -0/+15The system never works how the population interpret it.
The system works how the 'power players' want it to. - Goph09, on 05/08/2009, -4/+19What's really scary is my econ professor (who now actually works as a consultant or something at the federal reserve in Cleveland) said we are *****. totally *****, laughing as he said it to the class because it's THAT absurd what the Fed is doing and Obama's budget
His words, not mine - censormagnet, on 05/08/2009, -0/+15hell ya, audit the fed AT LEAST (end it imo)
- CrookedFed, on 05/08/2009, -1/+15The "Federal" Reserve central bank loans money to our country at interest. Every dollar circulating through our country is DEBT. It is impossible for our country (us, as citizens) to EVER pay this back. How could we? How could we pay the prinicipal + interest with money that does not exist?? They have literally owned our country since 1913. The Income Tax that we pay goes directly to the "Federal" Reserve to cover that interest. It is the biggest scam in the history of man. A dollar today is = about 4 cents in 1913. 4 cents! Don't fool yourself into thinking inflation is natural!
Our founding fathers knew that a central bank was the death of our republic. Thomas Jefferson knew this. Benjamin Franklin knew this. Andrew Jackson knew this and did away with an earlier central bank during his presidency. Kennedy may have been killed because of Executive Order 11110. The plan was to dismantle the Fed.
The owners of the Fed own our politicians. This has to stop now. - curtisag, on 05/08/2009, -1/+15The President isn't given a choice. The selection of who the President may nominate as Chairman of the Fed is out of his hands completely. The Fed basically says, here's our choice, take it or leave it. The Fed doesn't believe a President is qualified to make such a decision anyway, he's far too unqualified in economic matters to decide. The people are simpletons that need to be lied to after all. Confuse them enough with economic jargon and they will submit to just about anything.
- russianassassin, on 05/08/2009, -1/+15kill the fed
- sproket, on 05/08/2009, -0/+13The problem is not Coleman. Nobody knows what the fed is doing. support H.R. 1207
- govtdoesnotwork, on 05/07/2009, -2/+14In the end? Goldman & Morgan made all the choices, because they run both parties & the entire government now. Thanks neocons!!
- elbrad0, on 05/08/2009, -1/+13Then why didnt the inspector have more to say about their goings on?
Seemed like she'd been kept in the dark from the video, why do that with nothing to hide? - aheinzm, on 05/08/2009, -0/+11Have you ever paid attention to these hearings with top Fed members?
These are always their answers. You get nothing. They never bring any pertinent information, they never know off hand, they are always 'in the process'. - idavidtang, on 05/08/2009, -0/+11Can you elaborate on what your professor said? I'm just curious.
- kemp34, on 05/08/2009, -0/+11When Bernanke is talking, that's when you know he's blowing smoke.
- dwaeurf, on 05/08/2009, -2/+13"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money,
first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will
grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property
until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 in a letter to then Secretary of the Treasury, Albert Gallatin
Looking for answers to where the trillions of $$$ went? Try asking the Bilderberg Group meeting in June in Greece, they will know 4 sure!!! - vsujohn2, on 05/08/2009, -2/+12
- cybershoplifter, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9"The Office of Inspector General is responsible for detecting and preventing waste, fraud, and abuse." Like she said, they are detecting right now, and don't have the report done. I mean it's only a trillion dollars. Whats the big deal?
- mikedoth, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9Since most American's don't know...
- Spentlife, on 05/07/2009, -1/+10He was suggesting the understanding of why you bail out one firm saying too big to fail.. when you let go another too big to fail. Someone made the choice.. who did
- lostinseganet, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9How can I check which michigan members are on that list?
- algaeturd, on 05/08/2009, -1/+10Nobody who knows anything about the Fed should be surprised by this. It's a cloak and dagger operation. Nobody but a handful really knows what's going on there and that's the unfortunate truth. It's why this country has been held hostage since its inception.
- tekgnos, on 05/08/2009, -1/+9Maybe watch the video of the actual house hearing where you can see the lady who obviously knows nothing about what the FED is doing and is the "inspector general" who is supposed to know where a trillion dollars went?
- govtdoesnotwork, on 05/07/2009, -3/+11I agree with you about the left (NO bailouts, of anything, ever!) but I had to digg the story anyway, for the government official's lame, weasel-worded "update."
- kemp34, on 05/08/2009, -0/+7Watch the freaking VIDEO moron.
- bigp3rm, on 05/08/2009, -0/+7You know I try to share this stuff with people I know and they get upset with me. I think the fact that it is so scary to them they want to blame the closest person. So I am the alarmist. But once their money is worthless you know whats next. I told you so...
- King0007, on 05/08/2009, -1/+8I know you guys on Digg always hate Ron Paul, but he has a bill right now H.R. 1207 with over 143 co-sponsors. This bill would audit the FED. - vbullinger, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6You'll have to read it before you can be a critic.
I _am_ right. - kbillar, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6I just put half my savings in silver, my family is treating me like I've lost my mind. They can say what they want, but I am going to keep buying silver every month.
- Anachronus, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6This is a surprise?
- King0007, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6143 NOW!!!
Call your Reps
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111 ... - kbillar, on 05/08/2009, -0/+5Right On!!!
- butterbee, on 05/08/2009, -0/+4She claims that all that stuff is outside of her purview?!
She's to monitor and report upon the Board of Governors' activities. The BoG controls the Fed banks! Shouldn't she be required to monitor and report up how and what the BoG is doing with the Fed?
A shameful shirking of responsibility. Fire her ass! This is just when we need a healthy Fed counterbalance! - 2Pharcyded, on 05/08/2009, -0/+4OMG i hate this woman.
politics is *****. so few are actually held responsible. who actually feels a duty to the people? the whole point of government. theyve built their own little world that they squirm around in, filing endless amounts of unimportant tasks and never missing a paycheck (but certainly missing the tax payments they owe).
obviously this is not true for all of them. im just ranting - deeptroll, on 05/08/2009, -0/+4people give money its power
- mikedoth, on 05/08/2009, -0/+4It ends with the people.
- Rsulliv1, on 05/08/2009, -0/+3Computers, my friend. Computers.
- yerdaddy, on 05/08/2009, -0/+3Not roughly nothing. Precisely nothing.
- thecoolestguy, on 05/07/2009, -11/+14I can't digg this article because the endorses the idea that Lehman Brothers should have been saved by the Federal Reserved (tax payer).
It's funny how the left hates capitalism on the one hand, yet is always the first to suggest bailing out capitalist firms on the other. -
