He shames his father's name. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5At least Bush ran on conservative ideals. These guys running now aren't even pretending to be running on true conservatism. Paul is standing alone as the only conservative in the whole bunch and he's the only one that could stand a chance at defeating a Socialist Democrat in 2008.
- Elderon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5What baffles me is why they are all choosing to run pro-war campaigns (aside from ron paul of course). I think it's very very obvious to anyone who has paid attention to whats going on that Americans are sick and tired of it. How do these people expect a republican candidate to win when they shun and marginalize their only anti-war candidate? I hope Ron Paul wins because what I've seen from the likes of Gulianni and others is worse than what I saw with Bush.
- jimmyjay, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5The decision to invade and occupy Iraq was wrong.
Based on the results it was wrong and no one can effectively argue otherwise. But because of human nature we ( or app. 30% of us ) can't seem get over the hump on this issue. One of the most difficult things for anyone to do is to admit when they are wrong. People will go to their graves believing a big lie about their own lives, rather than to come clean and admit when they were wrong - - it is just that difficult of an undertaking to accomplish. People get fixated and don't want to hear the facts when their mind is made-up. Close minded people are very stubborn.
The Republicans are faced with a simple choice this election cycle. Either nominate Dr. Paul and help get our government back to it's conservative values or throw the election to Hillary. Personally, I think the hard core GOP would rather have Hillary in our White House that The Honorable Dr. Paul.
Even still, there is hope for America!
Rock on Dr. Paul, rock on! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3You're ignorant. Can you hear me all the way here in reality?
- Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Not just to the Republicans, although they're the current "example" or "lesson" here: See what happens when your own propaganda machine gets away from you? I'd like to think this might teach people to be a little more intellectually honest, willing to own up to political mistakes, and averse to using hyperbole that means you can't step down without admitting you'd made a complete ass of yourself, but I'm not holding my breath.
- Quakee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Ron Paul is the only Republican that stands a chance to be elected as president. Any other Republican candidate would get smashed by whichever Democrat he's running against.
- dallascorbin504, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0His father has interviewed some of the most important figures of the late 20th century. I couldn't agree with you more. No wonder mike wallace tried to commit suicide. Look at what kind of shame his son has brought on to his good name.
- ncairns, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3"...defeating a Socialist Democrat in 2008."
Can you hear me all the way back there in 1953?
