FOX News Tries To Paint Obama As Black Militant Pagan [video]
newshounds.us — Sean Hannity and World Net Daily colunnist Erik Rush teamed up to question whether Obama was really a Christian, whether he was too “Afrocentric” and whether he’s an African separatist. All because a page on his church’s website references and adopts the precepts of something called the “Black Value System.”

- pawchikapawpaw, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3wow, color me surprised: a segregationist church that the liberal left has no problem with. church and state arguments need not apply, huh.
- Sxeptomaniac, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2It hasn't been established that this is a segregationish church. That's just the conclusion a number of people have come to based on one page from its website.
Replace "black" with "white" and the page sounds sinister, but how about if you used a more specific ethnicity? Say, for example, a church had a similar set of statements regarding the "Greek community". What I'm saying is, in some cases, the "black" or "african-american" community has become a unique ethnic group, so there are more than one way that it can be interpreted.
Is it fair that "white community" tends to carry white supremacist connotations? No, but I blame those moronic aryans, not the rest. - pawchikapawpaw, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1swoosh. you've just been race-carded. can't question it, it's a "black" thing.
i agree, there is nothing wrong with nurturing your cultural roots. but being "black" has nothing to do with cultural roots. it has everything to do with the color of your skin. you are right, it is segragation-ish.
if you're jewish and you join a jewish synagogue (redundant), you can be green, orange, or blue, with one eye, blind, with a duck bill. as long as you're jewish, you can feel comfortable joining that synagogue.
being black in this church automatically earns you membership. that is segregationist-ish. that is why whites don't have a white church catering to the white community, because it is segregationist-ish, not because it's unfair.
a person can be buddhist, taoist, hindi, wiccan, christian, muslim, etc. etc. if they're black, white, green, yellow, purple, spotted, flared... but i doubt you can be white, asian, hispanic, green, blue, etc.. to be able to go to a church that caters to the "black" community, with their own "black" set of values. - mrteacup, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Dude, you are totally right. Its a double standard! Why do black people get to be racist, but white people don't? Its completely unfair. These people flaunt their racism every day, while you, Sean Hannity and so many others are forced to keep it quiet, like its some kind of dirty secret. It must be hard to not get to be racist every day, and having to wait until you are around other people you think might agree with you, and you can finally kick back and, you know -- just make a few racist comments and maybe even share a joke or two about how dumb black people are. You guys have been oppressed for too long, and I support your right to stand up and be as racist as you want! I'll even call some local television stations, and we can tell the world -- You're a racist, and your not ashamed of it!

Racism is racism, weather you're white, black, or any race. No one 'lets' black people be racist. - InfamousAtheist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@teacup,
Since when does Sean Hannity hide his racism? - mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sean Hannity?
vomet. - Krymore, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1lol Faux News, buried as inaccurate.

- 10scott10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9wait fox news. i thoguht you said he was an american hating muslim, not a baby eating pagan. wow someone will lose their job over that mistake
- hobgobbler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It's Sean Hannity guys, not exactly the Walter Cronkite of our generation. Grain of salt, please.
- The_Wallbanger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Props to Combs for stepping up to common sense. (Forward to half-way point of the video.)
- Popdmb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Whether you support Obama or not (He'll be getting my vote in 2008), please realize that religious value systems that include race are JUST AS BAD IF NOT WORSE than political systems that include religion.
Race or political affiliation should not be mixed with religion. It's a little alarming that this message still needs to be reinforced in the 21st century. - halfcockedjack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That seems to be a hard point to argue, especially given Obama's testimony that he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior during an altar call at his church a number of years ago.
- Detritus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When I interpolate the words "FOX News" with "Fear Mongering" I see a scary doctrine that worships pagan gods: money and power.
This WND jackass got rattled by Colmes... how sad is that? - aceg1357, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Let's be honest. If this was a white church that a white presidential candidate was going to, he would already be out of the race for being racist. Rightly so. Just imagine IF the word white was inserted where the word black is.
Church believes in the following 12 precepts:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
If you think this is nothing, you are either a racist yourself, or you are lying to yourself and the means really do justify the ends for you.
- Krymore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I believe the cliche you're looking for is, "the ends justify the means", not "the means justify the ends".
- EComni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yep, here we go. I know I'm gonna get dugg down to hell, but here goes.
"Cuz if someone said improve the *white* community, they'd be called out, right? Right?!"
The world isn't simple. It's complicated, unfair, and unbalanced. Black people are still at a disadvantage in lots of aspects of life. Any race-based stats show this. Whether or not it's own own fault is irrelevant here, the fact is that, at the moment, collectively we are behind and need to improve. When someone tries to organize blacks or any other minority of people to try to actually DO something to better themselves and their family and community (particulary, as I said, the problems are in this community), this isn't racist. It's realistic. It's no more racist than Irish Americans trying to stick together, particularly in the 19th-20th centuries. Racist would be blaming all whites for all the problems and demanding restitution or some nonsense.
That said, while I understand these "organization" stepping stones to try to get some minorities to improve their situations, I really hope we get to the point in the country where we no longer need these entities.
