- blahblah, on 10/12/2007, -15/+71Anyone who thinks fox is fair and balanced won't allow factual evidence to convince them otherwise.
- shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -10/+65on behalf of Australians everywhere, we're sorry for being somewhat responsible for fox.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -12/+67I love how Fox always spurts out "REMEMBER, WE'RE FAIR AND BALANCED!", just in case you start coming to your senses over the commercial break.
And O' Reilly too, with his "NO SPIN ZONE!!" and then proceeds to spin reality for an hour. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+61I've had it with these *****' snakes on this *****' plane!

The Huffington Post never claims to be "Fair and Balanced," that's the difference. - badave, on 10/12/2007, -9/+53Here's an idea - a journalist shouldn't be searching for a response. Ratings don't necessarily make things true either.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+50Of course we know it's total BS that a NEWS (and therefore supposedly impartial) organization caters to a political party, but try explaining Fox News bias to a conservative who watches it religiously. They don't see it. (not meaning to generalize by "they") No matter what I say and point out to a couple conservative friends of mine, they can't understand that what Fox News "reports" is not *just* news, and that a news organization is supposed to report just cold, hard, factual NEWS from a neutral POV. Of course news casters are only human beings and therefore likely to exhibit at least some faint hint of partisanism, but it should never be so obvious as to distort or overshadow what's important - the actual events (etc.) that are the news.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+49Hopefully they'll spell check them too ... the guy must think red underlines from his spell checker are for emphasis.
- Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -9/+37I totally agree but this goes beyond the fact that Fox News's reporters are slanted towards the republicans, it shows the entire network is orchestrated to smear the other parties/ sides using propaganda such as this.
- Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Pro liberal or not, it doesn't change the fact about Fox News and their methods.
- DevilDunkard, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29Who let the bitter neo-con in. Quick, hide your kids and your money!!

I really hate this argument, because it shows your blindness to the truth, and it also shows you rarely view these other forms of news you refer to. I doubt anyone will claim that CNN is right wing. But they seem to be a bit further to the center than Fox (note: I don't consistently watch either). My opinion of course, but it just seems that devout Fox News fans are so far to the right that ANY other source of news is liberal (your list of networks confirms my claim.) If every single news source is liberal, maybe you should take a step back and start to wonder if maybe you're just really far to the right (which is fine, but be true to your opinions). Also, what is your second news source? What other network supports your views and reports the news to your satisfaction? Is there any other?
An example. If anyone stayed up last Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning to watch the election results, around 2:00AM Fox news had CALLED THE SENATE ELECTION FOR THE REPUBLICANS! They had the whole map up, with the Republicans leading 51-48, one undecided. I couldn't believe it. You didn't see ANY of the other networks you claim to be so left winged pulling ***** like that, they left the race undecided until FACTS came in. This is an unbiased example, so if you don't like it, you don't like facts.... I'll refrain from making a Colbert reference here... - Clearz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29"I love how Fox always spurts out "REMEMBER, WE'RE FAIR AND BALANCED!", just in case you start coming to your senses over the commercial break.

Its just like when any county puts democratic in their name it usually means the opposite. - Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23You must be a fox news supporter. The big deal is that this clearly shows the intent of the network on paper. Not"oh we're not biased, you just think we are" but proof that not only are they biased, but they plan for it ahead of time.
- fredrated, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Of course they are thrilled, and that is why the insurgency has practically ended, because the Dem victory is what they were all fighting for, right?
Idiot. - beatbox360, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24How does Fox get away with calling themselves a "news" channel. Shouldn't there be a rule about accuracy concerning the information that is distributed. Just because they use a lot of opinions like "I believe.." and "I think..." doesn't mean that their disinformation is any less blatant or intentional. They should at least not be able to use terms like "Fair and Balanced" and "No-Spin".
The company News Corp. has a proven political agenda, and that is okay by me. However, misleading the American people intentionally with propaganda and telling them it's "news" just seems borderline criminal to me. - jackhole, on 10/12/2007, -17/+37I've had it with all these *****' references to that *****' movie.
- tservold1421, on 10/12/2007, -12/+32UNBELIEVABLE...Enough is ENOUGH!
- ardenr, on 10/12/2007, -7/+26It's digg-worthy because now I can shove this memo down the throat of anyone who quotes Fox News. While they won't listen, as they're too far gone, the undecideds with any sort of brain will have to see the BS in front of their eyes.
Time for new lines, neo-cons. - taotehue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18 This just in,
Hannity is indeed an *****! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19this site does'nt require you to be of any political persuasion. only the wittiest survive. now speak and be judged.

Nice try, but a horrible analogy. This is Digg.com not DiggNews.com and certainly there are no claims to any "Fair and balanced" practices here. News can be misleading when it's just opinions, I agree. Especially when it is purposely slanted, like my saying Sean Hannity is an *****. He is, but that's an opinion, and not news. - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Nowhere near as classic as this:

- weaksnyc, on 08/14/2009, -7/+23Speaking of the huffington post.... has anyone found a more reputable source? I'm not saying this isn't true, just curious as to whether or not any _real_ news organizations found this?
- Dundasbro, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21I'm sorry America but I really have to let you know this. You arn't the center of the ***** world.
Now I didn't say you weren't important. But when I hear stuff like this about people in another country fighting and dying and i hear "They must be trying to influence the elections" I get pissed off. When I hear about detainees in guantanamo suiciding and hear "They must be trying to influnce the elections" I get even more pissed off, I don't think those people really gave a ***** about the elections. America, you piss me off in general. - thefirstenemy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21I think you mean Fair and Balanced?™
- reject, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14..and the president of Fox News Channel was a political consultant for the Republican party from the 1970's through the 1980's.

- knaps, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14There are people who still believe that FN is fair and balanced? Honestly, even the people I know who watch that channel admit that it's slanted. Some even say that that's the reason they watch it.
Anyone who watches Fox News regularly probably already has their mind made up. It's the kind of stuff they want to be hearing on the news. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16fox news is as hilariously ***** up television as sunday morning evangelism. it preaches to the sheeple
- xxxkrogoth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13You know, this may show my age but I would give anything to go back to the time when reporters and news agencies just reported the news. How the hell did these corporations with their newscasters become the authority of what is right or wrong, left or right or up or down? These corporations and their usually poorly educated workers and reporters should be reporting the news and that's all. When I see Walter Cronkite or the news of the past I wonder when this all changed. Probably the Nixon scandal is the turning point. Ever since then the news organizations think they can dictate their own agendas.
- gerphimum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12100% true. im a republican and the stuff that fox news "reports" on is the kind of thing that inspires my political heart. fortunately, i have a brain and know that what theyre saying is not the truth of what happened, its what they know i want to hear to get me riled up against the dems, for the war, etc. that being said, i know more and more republicans who are getting fed up with fox news' increasingly steep slant. no more than a few years ago they actually were fair and balanced, reporting on the actual facts of what went down and letting its viewers gather what they would from it. i dont know who to believe anymore, really...
- modiggs1976, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I'm sorry but what does this have to do with the fox memo?
- clickmyface, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Dick Cheney wants every TV in his hotel rooms tuned only to Fox News.
Why might that be?

'nuff said, folks. - thirdman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Please feel free to show me some examples of when the "Democrats" have been proven to be "pussys against terrorism". I'll need at least one primary or 2 secondary sources, properly quoted & referenced. Tertiary or biased sources will not be accepted.
Otherwise, I'd suggest you do a little wider reading and stop regurgitating verbatim the lies & untruths of the various polarised commentators who proliferate in the US today. - kingatrock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I think the majority of the US is most happy since all together we made changes we wanted done. Ouch!

It must REALLY kill you that Fox News gets more viewers than all the other news channels COMBINED"
personally i could not give a ***** how many people flock to something( it is pathetic that you think that most important thing about your news source is how popular it is), that does not make it any damn better. NSync have sold more albums than The White Stripes, The Strokes, and The Shins combined, but that does not make them an authority on good music? People watch Fox News because it reaffirms their own ignorance. Now go back to watching the O'Rally Factor before your brain actually starts thinking for itself. You might kill yourself if you realized what a moron you are. - modiggs1976, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Mommy!! The bad man wants reporters to reveal their sources. Waaaah!
- t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9So what if he's Australian? We don't want him :)
- RamanujanRedux, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12People tailor the news to their own preconceptions of the world. It is the ideas that circulate people's minds that needs to be altered in order for regular FOX News viewers to understand the disconnect from reality.
- tigertiger, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10@gerphimum
Read different websites, watch different shows and do your own research if you feel like it. Then make up your own mind, don't wait for someone else to tell you. Don't trust a single news outlet, if something sounds odd or unbelievable then check it out for yourself. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10"Why wouldn't the insurgents be happy that the democrats won? After all, history has shown that democrats have been pussys against terrorism and they also want to cut and run. Why is that so hard for you libs to fathom?"
if you are going to be such an offensive loser, at least spellcheck your insults you *****. Pussys is not a word. - AlmostEvil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I highly recommend BBC World, I believe people in the US can receive it via satellite. Also, to a lesser degree ITN too, however i'm not sure if that's available to anyone outside of the UK.
I have watched American, Australian and British news channels and frankly I have to say the BBC is probably the most factual even handed one.
But, not all British news channels are even handed. Don't go near Sky News with a ten foot bargepole. It's heavily right slanted. (it's owned by Rupert Murdoch, think of it as Fox News UK, although having watched Fox News it'd probably be classed as a liberal news channel in comparison) - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10In three years, Fox News will be 24 hours of one shot: the camera pulled in tight on Ann Coulter's menacing, angular visage, all the while patriotic slogans being yelled at the viewers.
