- MindyB, on 04/20/2008, -10/+81I guess the execs of the MSM's need to get out of their gold plated ivory towers once in a while!
Funny how these endorsements also fly in the face of our "great" PA Governor Ed Renell and our "great' Phila Mayor Michael Nutter! Good to know these guys don't own everything here in PA.
Vote for Obama on April 22nd! and America will have the guarantee of a better and brighter future. - carpespasm, on 04/20/2008, -3/+53Don't call them republitards. Take the high road if you disagree with them.
- GrimHeathen, on 04/20/2008, -4/+42News papers shouldn't be backing anyone. They should be bringing us unbiased news.
- chrissku, on 04/20/2008, -12/+41Pennsylvania please end this silliness on Tuesday. Vote Obama!
- elipabst, on 04/20/2008, -3/+329 out of 10 white multimillionaires agree that Obama is an elitist, coincidence?
- Jamihabs, on 04/20/2008, -12/+36Is Obama the new Ron Paul of Digg?
- futureisours, on 04/20/2008, -19/+42I miss the ol' days where every other article on here was about Ron Paul and freedom.
- JayKeaton, on 04/20/2008, -3/+21Hate the media when it backs Hillary, love the media when it backs Obama? Is this really going to be a fair election with that kind of attitude, how will anyone be able to think for themselves?
- DietMountainDew, on 04/20/2008, -8/+24Pete, "For Pete's Sake"...
- SteveIsTheDude, on 04/20/2008, -2/+17Obama was a baby when that guy was a "bomb-maker". It is a non-issue and everybody knows it.
- theOster, on 04/20/2008, -0/+13anyone that splices "tard" into another word reminds me of an 8th grader
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -4/+17Heavens forbid you actually read a news source in order to get "educamacated" about what's up with the world and the election. BTW, newspapers is still considered to be very credible, unlike Fox News (even The Onion trumps Fox in terms of truthiness).
- Cattywampus, on 04/20/2008, -11/+23Aren't these newspapers the kind of "mainstream media" that Obama fans are always bashing as being biased, out of touch, irrevelant, corporate stooges, etc.?
I guess when such "MSM" endorse Obama, they suddenly become wise, knowledgeable, relevant, intelligent, etc.! - inactive, on 04/20/2008, -3/+15The major papers of Pennsylvania *are* the "MSM." You can't say the MSM are "flogging" Obama while they're supporting him.
- carpespasm, on 04/20/2008, -5/+17the idea that one should do their own thinking is a very good one, but thinking for yourself doesn't necessarily mean you'll be forced to come to a different conclusion that someone else.
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -5/+16newspapers lost their clout long ago. no one cares
- had3l, on 04/20/2008, -9/+20/salutes
Major 'Penn Paper'! - inactive, on 04/20/2008, -0/+11I'm an Obama supporter, and I agree. I don't care what the MSM or some newspaper says. This isn't even a surprise anyway, considering that almost all of the MSM (excluding FoxNews and CNN) support Obama.
- FENWAYFREAK, on 04/20/2008, -8/+18Not all major papers endorse him. Piitsburgh Tribune endorses Hilary, as does the University of Penn School Paper. Basically, Western PA is for Hilary, Eastern for Obama.
- bphicke, on 04/20/2008, -0/+10@petrodollar, then you are equally as stupid.
- omnithought, on 04/20/2008, -5/+14And here I was thinking "Penn Jillette"
- RX9735, on 04/20/2008, -5/+13General Paton once said, "If everyone is thinking the same, someone is not thinking.
- jebudas, on 04/20/2008, -2/+10LukasSmith:
"That the Huffington post suggests that people should vote according to what the media says disgusts me."
Huffington:
"While Beltway pundits and others in the national press have alleged that Barack Obama is clearly and obviously out of touch with most not-so-bitter Pennsylvanians, leading newspapers in the state, who ought to know better, seem to disagree."
This is local newspapers vs MSM hype, not huffington vs you. - brycelb, on 04/21/2008, -0/+8But he won 85% of digg which I think was the point.
- MacEnvy, on 04/20/2008, -3/+11Nearly every Western PA paper aside from the two you mention have endorsed Obama, just FYI.
- crowbar77, on 04/20/2008, -2/+10Where have you been the last 2 months?
- minox, on 04/20/2008, -3/+10Congrats. You managed to fit "neocon," "sheeple," "fascist," and a mention of Rush Limbaugh in two sentences. Sorry, you didn't win a prize.
- sl9sl9, on 04/20/2008, -1/+8The fact that you are being dugg down appears to confirm this. Sad really, what happened to digging up GOOD, FACTUAL posts that you may not agree with but increase the quality and balance of the comments? FFS I give up.
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -7/+14Earlier today p0s3r admitted that he lives in Alabama and supports Jeff Sessions, who has openly advocated racist and white supremacist views in his personal AND public capacities. Sessions has been a vocal supporter of the KKK and has worked tirelessly to overturn the Voting Rights Act, which was instrumental in allowing African Americans to vote, and to nominate to the federal bench a judicial nominee who had fought to uphold laws prohibting interracial marriage.
In revealing his deep appreciation for Sessions' work, p0s3r reveals the extent of his own racism and intolerance.
Is it any surprise that he would stoop to spreading vicious lies and fabrications to smear Barack Obama? - sovereign3, on 04/20/2008, -0/+7Historically, papers were never intended to present "unbiased" news (I argue that unbiased news simply doesn't exist). Papers now, as they always have been, mouthpieces for whatever self-interests the editorial board is seeking to placate.
- id000001, on 04/20/2008, -1/+8It just meant newpapers made up their mind, doesn't mean whether they are trying to change your mind.
- bphicke, on 04/20/2008, -8/+15But with more uneducated fans and less crazies.
- crowbar77, on 04/20/2008, -0/+7Who cares who the papers support? Besides a lot of them are owned by big corporations with there own agenda.
- flink405, on 04/20/2008, -2/+9Anybody here even read a newspaper?
- badqat, on 04/20/2008, -6/+13You missed this part "every major Pennsylvania paper endorses him". You're not allowed to disagree on any Obama thread on digg, even if you're telling the truth.
- Scycon, on 04/20/2008, -3/+10So anyone else sick of seeing 3 huffington post articles everyday? Quite a joke of a source if you ask me.
I come from Minnesota where we have the Star Tribune shoving garbage down our throats, I don't need it on digg too. - Armakillo, on 04/20/2008, -1/+7I can't even begin to express how sick I am of Huffington Post ... good thing it's not biased like the "MSM"!
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -4/+10Ron Paul barely won 5% of the primary vote in his home state.
- badqat, on 04/20/2008, -1/+7I think the main point was that here are two major PA newspapers that have NOT endorsed Obama, in direct opposition to the headline screaming that "every major PA paper endorses him."
- terracottapai, on 04/20/2008, -1/+7I believe he also slapped a soldier for not remembering there were two t's in his name.
- SouthsideIrish, on 04/20/2008, -2/+8Guarantee? So, I should come to you when that brighter future doesn't happen. Anyone who gets elected is going to have a rough time, and there is no guarantee that (s)he can get us out of this mess.
- ileftfark, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8or... vote for the candidate you think will do the best job and represent your interests best. unless you think Random Internet Guy can do that for you.
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8For, we all know newspapers are unbiased and if they aren't, they lean right. RawFL.
- DEIx15x8, on 04/20/2008, -4/+9There have now been 26,900+ huffingtonpost.com articles on Digg! How much more spam can you people come up with?
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -9/+14Which one of these posters is you? http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2004043/p ...
- inactive, on 04/20/2008, -2/+7Here's the thing: Obama has never endorsed the views of any of any radical person or group. Unlike you, he has never pointed to a well known racist as a paragon of public virtue.
You on the other hand did not hestitate to stand up and proclaim your love for and allegiance to Jeff Sessions. You were positively brimming with PRIDE when you paraded him as an example of the kind of public figure you admire.
Nor did you stop there! You went so far as to LIE (fantasize?) about being a resident of Alabama, the state Mr. Sessions represents in he U.S. Senate. It wasn't enough for you to merely announce your support for Mr. Sessions, but instead you went so far as to dishonestly claim that he in fact REPRESENTS you! - badqat, on 04/21/2008, -1/+6I don't know how many times I've heard folks refer to Obama as being pragmatic. He's not, and his supporters are far from being pragmatic. Facts are of little concern, it's all raw emotion, and what they "feel".
Notice how they and Obama claim to be beyond partisanship - they aren't and he isn't. Is Obama suddenly going to be that way when the clouds part and he's coronated king? - Cerebron, on 04/20/2008, -2/+7It's funny, the fact that democrats and liberals can be fascist is largely ignored.
- yodaj007, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5You're comparing papers to mayors and saying the papers have "hyper left biases"? Perhaps because a) you're comparing apples or oranges, and b) you're presupposing the bias. I say the mayors have hyper right biases and apples and oranges are different kinds of fruit altogether.
Let's not forget that people will stop supporting a newspaper if they disagree with it. Support for a paper is proportional to advertisements sold..... Let me emphasize that ellipsis: ......... - scoffey, on 04/21/2008, -0/+4go away please

What is Digg?
