What's so great about stopping the mass graves from being filled? What's so great about shutting down the rape rooms and torture chambers? What are we, heroes or something? NO! - atdigg, on 01/27/2008, -0/+10How about not supporting Saddam Hussein in the FIRST place, if you pay attention US is doing the same mistake over and over, they support dictators only because it's (apparently) convenient for them: Pakistan and in Arabs states, and the Shah in Iran, only to be confronted 10, 20, or 30 year afterwords with the disastrous result of their failed policies.

    For clarification, this comment was NOT directed at those in our armed forces. It WAS directed at the armed thugs who would come to your home and extract you and/or your sons if a draft were enforced.

- h4ckler, on 01/28/2008, -0/+7What's great about the war in Iraq is all the innocents we've killed, all the basic living needs we've denied iranian citizens, the fact we're firing depleted uranium rounds all over Iraq, Iraq's infant mortality rate has risen 300% since 2003, etc. (the list goes on.)

  Even if you're as vacant as you often seem, surely you realize that it hasn't worked out that well (either for Iraq or the Republican Party). I mean, you've seen charts of approval ratings through Bush's terms in office. This great idea is going to yield a Democratic president, likely a stronger Democratic presence in the other branches of government, and it's setting your party back years in terms of political power, public trust, and just general reputation. The libertarian-minded are deserting in droves and the power base of the party is basically down to brownshirts and rednecks.
  
  You're one of the very few hardcore New and Improved Republican Party™ posters with a consistent presence here on Digg. While it's nice and refreshing to have a change of pace from all the libertarians and leftists constantly debating philosophy and science and ideas, I have to say that you're not particularly stimulating. All you do, really, is stick to your guns as your idols repeatedly sell you out to the highest bidder. You're a tool, a useful idiot.
  
  No matter who or what is in power, the nature and existence of that power necessitates that every free-thinking individual exist in thoughtful opposition and only the most cautious degree of trust. I suppose you deserve some credit for being steadfast, but at this point it just seems like idiocy.
