- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -7/+37I feel that somehow Edwards will eventually recover from all of this.
But then again, I'm a pessimist. - ehaugan, on 05/04/2009, -5/+30This guy is a fraud on so many levels.
- urbanetruth, on 05/04/2009, -1/+23Creep. Corruption among politicians, whether Democrat or Republican, should not be tolerated.
- jivatmanx, on 05/04/2009, -3/+22Thank god he didn't become our president.
- booksnmore4you, on 05/04/2009, -6/+22Moral of the story: keep your pecker where it belongs.
- poprocksandsoda, on 05/04/2009, -10/+26It's amazing to watch the Democrats eat their own. It's hard to believe that people like Edwards and Lieberman were once the #2s in this party. What a difference a few years can make.
- Jackson0909, on 05/04/2009, -5/+17If that's so, then I would love to hear you criticize Nancy Pelosi and cry for her investigation.
- vbullinger, on 05/04/2009, -0/+12Only if you're an Edwards apologist.
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -5/+17"we are not afraid to criticize people in our party who behave inappropriately."
Unfortunately, that doesn't prevent you from electing them anyway. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -1/+12LOL!
- dafragsta, on 05/04/2009, -1/+12They say never to judge a book by its cover, but this guy just looks like 100% douchebag.
- Jackson0909, on 05/04/2009, -5/+15He's dirtbag lawyer who saw an opening to make a lot money with a class-action lawsuit. He then parlayed that into a political career. The man doesn't believe in *****. He's an opportunistic chicken hawk.
- brucealmighty, on 05/04/2009, -1/+10The man made his fortune by winning huge personal injury awards which incidentally also led to huge increases in the costs of malpractice coverage and consequently to increases in the costs of medical care for everyone in his state. Then suddenly he goes into politics and becomes an advocate for the poor and especially those unable to afford decent medical care! Maybe there was no ethical breech here but still it always seemed to me that his only real 'core values' were whatever best suited his purposes at the moment......
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -3/+12Don't forget Bill Richardson, who was under serious consideration for VP nomination until, well...some ethical problems.
- lancert, on 05/04/2009, -2/+11I used to like him but if he can't keep a promise to the one's closest to him, how can we expect him to keep any made to us?
- clvngodess, on 05/04/2009, -2/+11Especially when she's being treated for cancer. Otherwise have the balls (and pecker) to leave the marriage or work on it at the very least.
- Chunandler, on 05/04/2009, -0/+9Hey, his wife only had cancer at the time. What was he suppose to do? Support her?..hah
- Chahrlie5, on 05/04/2009, -9/+17LOL
- booksnmore4you, on 05/04/2009, -2/+10Your wife's. Only.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -9/+17You funny, sarahlee.
- papashawn, on 05/04/2009, -2/+9What, did you think the man had a conscience? He's a trial lawyer, for chrissakes.
- whiledo, on 05/04/2009, -0/+7We get concerned when people flat out lie right to our faces. It confirms all our worst fears about politicians. All of the other stuff you mentioned is secondary to the issue of trust. When it comes down to it, our system of representative democracy has on thing at its core -- trust.
- felman87, on 05/04/2009, -3/+10In a vagina?
- whiledo, on 05/04/2009, -7/+14Nancy Pelosi is doing a poor job and needs to be investigated.
Your move, Jackson0909. - whiledo, on 05/04/2009, -0/+7I always got a weird vibe off of Edwards. As someone who is generally on the liberal side of most issues, I agreed with some of what he was saying. But it just didn't feel all that genuine. Granted, almost all successful politicians say what they think a voting majority wants to hear. With Edwards, though, I felt like it went a bit beyond that.
- maz2331, on 05/04/2009, -0/+6Much of it goes directly to trust. Someone who can't even be loyal to a spouse is very likely to also be untrustworthy in other things as well.
Character DOES matter. - billraydrums, on 05/04/2009, -6/+12$400 haircut. Still looks like a douchebag
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -5/+11"Both parties elect scoundrels from time to time."
The Democratic Congress, even at the top level, is rife with corruption. - inactive, on 05/04/2009, -0/+5Now all together, vagina, balls, peckers, toes.. wait that wasn't how I remembered it.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -0/+5Pre . . . ZACTLY!
- Jackson0909, on 05/04/2009, -3/+8The only individuals that run for President today are power-hungry narcissists.
- sarahlee, on 05/04/2009, -5/+10We don't. But we do call them out when they are bad. Wrong is wrong regardless of who does it.
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -1/+6"Yeah leaving your wife because she was disfigured by an accident after she was raising your young children on her own is so much more noble."
How the ***** do you know what the reason was? He was in a POW camp for five years. I know it probably wouldn't change such a noble person as yourself, but maybe a lesser man would be affected to a certain extent.
"I was referring to mass mailings from progressive organizations to oppose things such as Obama's FISA vote. "
Whatever. The only "campaign" I see is the one Obama continues everywhere he goes, despite winning the election. - piieerrrree, on 05/04/2009, -1/+6the mistress was octomom?
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -4/+9Who are "we," and what campaigns have "we" launched?
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -0/+5"John Edwards has some excellent ideas."
"...on hair care," he added later. - GlobalRoamer, on 05/04/2009, -2/+7In my humble opinion, John Edwards is just another pretty face - but the Democrats say the same thing about Michael Moore, Helen Thomas, Nancy Pelosi, and the Yeti.
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -2/+6"Yeah, we all know its liberals who are always preaching about family values."
What we all do know is that Edwards did. You disputing that?
"Oh, so now its OK for McCain to cheat because he was a POW?"
I don't think it's ever OK, nor did I say that, just that it's a hell of a lot less egregious than Edwards' sliminess.
"But Bush, ect, ect, ect..."
I'm waiting for you to tell me about the "campaigns" launched by the Democrats against Obama. Your emails aren't a campaign. - sprNmgcHlmt, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5what a peckerhead.
- crunchdigg, on 05/04/2009, -2/+6you aren't paying attention.
think back to when Bubba Clinton was
in the news for months for lying under oath about
getting a blow job from an ugly skank.
I have to laugh when clearly rightwingers
try to say only their guys' stupidity is reported.
Nope, and if Barack tries to mince words
about "what the definition of 'is' is" or can't
speak in coherent sentences about "fool me
once, shame on you, ..." expect him to be skewered.
And Edwards is a dick, despite trying to
do some good for some people who could
use some help. - topcat5, on 05/04/2009, -2/+6He should have at least followed Bill Clinton's lead. Keep your pants zipped until "after" you are elected to the presidency. I guess he isn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen after all.
- seanstuart, on 05/04/2009, -1/+5"Edwards acknowledges probe."
So, he finally admits it about the adultery! - Stevanoski, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4What a crook. No wonder the Dem.s adore him.
- atomheartmother, on 05/04/2009, -4/+8"We tend to treat the president as an employee, not someone we have to apologize for."
If that were verbal rather than written, it'd be good stand-up. Who I voted for is none of your business, but I'm pretty sure they weren't making love-children with their campaign-funded harlot as their spouse fought cancer. <wink, wink> You betcha. - Jackson0909, on 05/04/2009, -2/+5Sheesh. Nice attempt at trying to steer the conversation away from John Edwards. If this were a Republican, you would be all over it.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -3/+6>>federal investigators were looking into how he handled his campaign funds.
They got suspicious when they found a line item for $1,200,000 worth of hair jell. - JoeParanoid, on 05/04/2009, -1/+4This is Obama's way of making sure he doesn't have to live up to his promise to Edwards to do something about poverty.
- inactive, on 05/04/2009, -1/+4Hang 'im high!
- akhomestead, on 05/04/2009, -0/+3I seem to remember several scandals when he ran in '92.
