- migtex1234, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Murtha, a traitor, has an ego larger than a Whale. He uses the Homeland Security Plane, as his private jet, he was not forced to give up money, he made in a phony real estate deal, he runs his mouth with anti-American bile.
He is the poster boy for arrogant, ego centered. negativity that has become the mantle of many in Congress. Disgusting, no moral center Congress, no wonder their poll numbers of disapproval has fallen below 12%.
I have never witness such a self-centered, ego driven, no ethics Congress
in my lifetime. Democrats, always wanting more taxes from you, finger pointing, more dollars & time, out the window, with their demands for investigations on "just about everything". Cannot get anything done. Vocal negativity, (it's everyone else fault), has created a cloud of dishonor & self interest that follows them everywhere. Citizens are tired of this negative, pick pocket, anti American drivel. - cboeman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Congress is sooooooooooooo corrupt, both parties
- anelajett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Your link is > Nat'l Infrastructure Institute which is a project to secure / inspect cargo containers from NE ports (NH, VT, MA, NY) > Canada and back - - headed by U.S. Senator Judd Gregg. The $1M recipient above is Center for Instrumented Critical Infrastructure. These are two (2) different corporations.
Besides, a certificate filed with the $1M shows the money earmarked for Concurrent Technologies Corporation. Interestingly, the firm has donated $7,000 to Murtha's re-election campaign since Apr-02.
Bottomline, Senators on the spending subcommittee should know where $$ is going (or have a list to refer to) - - to vouch for the legitimacy / purpose for the funds in the event someone asks during session. - savage2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Now you know why they want to take the guns from the law abiding citizens. To make you a subject! Corruption breeds contempt and
Washington DC is full of corruption. - akira185, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Gee, I thought Democrats were criticizing Republicans for this stuff. FUNNY. Typical Democrat.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Democratic Rep. Peter J. Visclosky of Indiana
Questioned Visclosky on the House floor Tuesday about whether the Center for Instrumented Critical Infrastructure actually exists - since, hey, it's getting like a million bucks or something.
Visclosky, who chairs the spending subcommittee responsible for the project, had to admit that, well, he didn't have a clue.
After a lengthy back-and-forth, Flake, complaining that his staff couldn't find a website for the center, asked Visclosky, "Does the center currently exist?"
"At this time, I do not know," the Indiana Democrat replied. "But if it does not exist, the monies could not go to it."
And who could possibly be the sponsor of such an earmark? Yes, you guessed it, the man Republicans love to hate, Pennsylvania Democrat John P. Murtha.
Despite the money's uncertain destination, the House rejected Flake's measure to strike the funds, 326-98. And the Visclosky bill also sailed through, 312-112. - scholty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You want to bet THIS never makes it to the front page of digg?
- texaspeaks, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2A 312-112 vote means that politicians on both sides of the aisle are guilty, but it would be nice if Murtha actually faced an investigation over this. That'll never happen with Democrats in power, though. They only investigate Republicans.
- UnFriendlyFire, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Looks like part of the NAU
- caif, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Its another hi-tech 007 bad guy, "Big-Brother," tracking system. And somehow I'm sure it'll screw up and will jail the innocent. http://www.ni2cie.org/downloads/CUSCSP_Phase2_Report.pdf
