Early Morning SuperDel for Obama Already!
huffingtonpost.com — Today, Indiana Congressman Joe Donnelly endorsed Barack Obama for President, citing his commitment to working families and building a real coalition for change: "Today, I am pleased to announce my support for Barack Obama. At a time when too many Americans have lost faith in their government, Senator Obama can move us beyond the politics of stale..

- jforjools, on 05/14/2008, -9/+38In addition to this morning's *four* superdelegates:
"Also, the Washington Post reports that one of Clinton's pledged [not 'super'] delegates from Maryland has announced that he will support Obama at the convention."- maximize, on 05/14/2008, -6/+6Put a fork in her, shes well done.
- jgzman, on 05/14/2008, -1/+14I maintain that it is wrong of the Delegate from Maryland to cross the lines like that.
- thanakar, on 05/14/2008, -2/+9Very wrong, if the people the delegate represent voted for Clinton than the delegate has a moral obligation to support Clinton.
- svtspeed, on 05/14/2008, -4/+4Since when does morality count for anything? If this was truly a moral race HRC would have coincided a long time ago.
- Eezyville, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2The morality of HRC has nothing to do with the morality of the delegates. The delegates are supposed to represent the votes of the people, they aren't super delegates.
- JaronDiggGuy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I think you meant conceded.
- dn11, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1fortunately, it won't matter, since Obama doesn't need any of her pledged delegates.
- Adelie, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1The system rules exist for a reason. If the delegate doesn't feel the vote is strongly representative of what the people want, that is why the rules are setup the way they are. In California where I am, I think the vote would be very different today because at the time of the California vote, Clinton had much stronger name recognition. Obama also won strong in the Bay Area and Sacramento (Minus Santa Clara County *shrug*)
At this point in the race with the way things stand,I am not surprised that pledged delegates might take a stand against any possible shananagains that might take place at the last moment. Now if the Republicans can get it together to recognize that Ron Paul, given proper support, is the only candidate that can realign the party.
Barak Obama v. Ron Paul would be a REAL match up! If that were a real posibility, I don't know which way I would go.
- svtspeed, on 05/14/2008, -4/+4Since when does morality count for anything? If this was truly a moral race HRC would have coincided a long time ago.
- DavidGX, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4Nope. She tried this ***** not too long ago, trying to convince Obamas pledged delegates to switch. She can dish it out, hopefully she can take it.
- exomni, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3Agreed, but honestly if you're in a position to help your party by staying this ridiculous blood sport, I couldn't blame you for doing your part.
- dn11, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Pledged delegates are chosen specifically as the most loyal, fanatical supporters of a candidate, if they are coming out now and making noise about wanting to jump ship - that isn't good - regardless of who they are going to ultimately support at the convention.
- thanakar, on 05/14/2008, -2/+9Very wrong, if the people the delegate represent voted for Clinton than the delegate has a moral obligation to support Clinton.
- geolittle, on 05/14/2008, -5/+7Does Digg get paid for all these political commercials? Just wondering since, just like on TV, all I see are repeats of the same diatribe with no sustenance. So much for a real discussion of issues or OMG something new. Instead we get the constant beat of SOS propaganda.
- ljohnblaze, on 05/14/2008, -4/+5No - digg is where the 2% of intelligent people that politically-minded people go for relevant news. Intelligent and politically minded people just have a thing for Ron Paul and Barack Obama. Are you sure you didn't mean to visit www.foxnews.com instead?
- didiman, on 05/14/2008, -4/+5Ron Paul and Barack Obama have nothing in common, and if you rely on Digg for your new then you're simply an idiot.
- dOOBiEx213, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4Agreed. Nothing like seeing "Breaking News" two weeks later.
- Adelie, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Digg is better, if not for the shear sake of balance, than any other news source. CNN sucks, fox sucks, ABC sucks, Washington post sucks, San Francisco chronicle really sucks. I am not saying it is all bad, but Digg makes it much easier to sort through the crap. 90%+ of digg is junk, which is quite a bit better than most news 'sources'.
- didiman, on 05/14/2008, -4/+5Ron Paul and Barack Obama have nothing in common, and if you rely on Digg for your new then you're simply an idiot.

*fwoooshh!*
I DRINK IT UP! - ruyen, on 05/14/2008, -1/+7As a firm Obama supporter, I reject *and* denounce this person's action. If they choose to change their mind they should contact their district/precinct and get an alternate to replace them if they are to go to the convention. Pledged aren't Super Delegates, they represent the voters and can't change who their delegate is counted for.
Although, as DavidGX mentioned:
She did try to say it was ok for Obama's pledged delegates to defy the voters they represent and crossover, but I still don't think it should be done.- exomni, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Are you hard AND firm?
- SheilaNoya, on 05/14/2008, -14/+27Drip, drip, drip. Hillary's bucket has a hole in it, while Obama's bucket is filling up.

- insomniacal, on 05/14/2008, -1/+8The best thing about your comment is that you don't even see the hypocrisy in it. :-)
- x0rcist, on 05/14/2008, -6/+32Super Delegates from today for Obama + Pledged Delegates from WV for Obama > Pledged Delegates from WV for Clinton
Watch it happen, it'll be funny.- zenithmbr, on 05/14/2008, -10/+3i wish i could bury you again
- insomniacal, on 05/14/2008, -12/+3As funny as 67% to 26%? Gimme a minute, I'm still trying to get over that one.
- rossmcd, on 05/14/2008, -0/+13If you want to look at landslide wins, Obama has more.
Obama won DC: 75% to 24%
Obama won Hawaii: 76% to 24%
Obama won Georgia: 67% to 31%
Obama won Idaho: 79% to 17%
Obama won Kansas:74% to 26%
Obama won Washington state caucus (the state's binding election): 68% to 31%
But if it gives you pleasure to see her win, then you should relish the moment. After next week it won't happen again.- winnestow, on 05/14/2008, -3/+1bet?
- Adelie, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Wow, she won strong in a state that voted for the GOP nominee the last 4 elections (at least), voted 58% for Bush in 2004, all republican reps. and 1 democratic senator in 110th congress. I will agree 67:26 is a very good representation of who isn't voting for Obama in West Virginia, but I don't think they are Clinton fans either.
- rossmcd, on 05/14/2008, -0/+13If you want to look at landslide wins, Obama has more.
- anubis2night, on 05/14/2008, -5/+18It's almost laughable the longer she keeps up her campaign the more delegates Obama picks up by the time She's done with W Virginia and Kentucky Obama could have an equal amount of new delegates and super delegates to still keep him ahead, at this point Hillary should take a moment and figure out how spending millions more every week is good for her campaign, unless she's doing it for the economy
- CicurateGroup, on 05/14/2008, -2/+10She is not spending money, she is borrowing it and will not pay it back, and definitely not out of her pocket.
- xmykro, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2Didn't she put $11 million of her personal money into the campaign?
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -1/+7Technically it was a 'loan', so when they pay off their debts, she gets all her money back.
- petrodollar, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5She's like a mini-subprime crisis with breasts.
- getbusyliving, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Really gross breasts
- xmykro, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2Didn't she put $11 million of her personal money into the campaign?
- Nanite, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3My theory is she is a "useful idiot" and needs to stick around until the 20th so Obama doesn't lose in kentucky to someone who has dropped out. (things are just as bad for him there as in WV.) I think after Kentucky she'll drop out, she can't carry anymore states after that. Oregon is going to landslide for Obama and I'm not sure about south Dakota, but it certainly won't be another clinton blow-out.
Yes, after kentucky people will be openly calling her to quit, there will be much more pressure than there is now once she can't possibly win any more races.- winnestow, on 05/14/2008, -5/+2my theory is obama is the "useful racist" that will put mccain in the white house
- CicurateGroup, on 05/14/2008, -2/+10She is not spending money, she is borrowing it and will not pay it back, and definitely not out of her pocket.
- kjames00, on 05/14/2008, -8/+23Obama is definitely racking up the super delegates...now if we could only convince John Edwards to endorse him :)
- m4lomb, on 05/14/2008, -2/+3Wouldn't that be nice? I think the problem is that Mr. Edwards has his own agenda. Having said that, we know he will not endorse Hillary and he will endores one candidate. It will go to Obama and dont worry about timing, it is immaterial, his endorsement is not as powerful as it seems.
- taradisiac, on 05/14/2008, -3/+0He's too busy getting his hair done.
- chrissku, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Who cares....John Edwards didn't even carry his own state in the 2004 Presidential race.
- SupTricolor, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3I disagree. I think at this time, when Clinton is trying to make the argument that working class won't vote for Obama, the endorsement from Edwards would be really good. It will negate the entire argument from the Clintons. Edwards is not that strong but the working-class voters like him.
- MrSkrilla, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2John Edwards in a douche. The fact that he hasn't endorsed yet shows how much of a pussy he is.
- Adelie, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Check YouTube. Edwards has endorced Obama a number of times, at least in terms of the way he plays politics, and most often (if not always) as a slam against Hillary and her BS. Ron Paul has made some very positive comments about Obama with what has been dubbed the "This isn't an endorcement, but..." speech, and Edwards has done things like that many times over the course of this primary.
- AhrenBa, on 05/14/2008, -8/+46Ok, I am totally psyched that Obama is raking in the super delegates, but come on....do we need a Digg story for each one? I seriously see an average of 2-3 a day....that's a little much. ;)
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -9/+3Actually this was a digg story for 4 supers, and imho getting out the view that Hillary isn't going to win is worth a little annoyance.
- dagamer34, on 05/14/2008, -6/+2Actually, this story did 4. But I see your point.
- zenithmbr, on 05/14/2008, -11/+2don't digg up this comment unless you buried the story, fag.
- afterlife23, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4dont be dissin digg all the time, we are the ones who digg up the stories
- stonewaljacksn, on 05/14/2008, -4/+2afterlife, get with the program. it's not a coincidence that HuffPo (auto-bury) is getting 5+ front page stories a day. they are gaming digg for hits with their ***** irrelevant obama mancrushing stories and that's *****. we are the ones who blindly digg ***** that gets to the frickin front page. huffpo OBVIOUSLY has a little "digg my submissions up" network on this site and it's retarded. i say revolt.
ok fine dont, but i bury all huffpo now without reading the articles. digg is not meant to be their propaganda outlet.

wop bop bam bam who likes obama?- digitronix, on 05/14/2008, -8/+2Wow, I couldn't help but chuckle at that video.
- mooseontheloose, on 05/14/2008, -38/+15Obama just got his ass kicked in WV... lmao. Looks like Digg's bury brigade wasn't there to bury the Clinton voters... aww, too bad!
- maximize, on 05/14/2008, -3/+5buried.
- thatspsychotic, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5Bury brigade = the rest of us who are sick of obnoxious comments like yours.
- Fordi, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5Nah, instead there was the idiots who think Obama is a muslim.
- thanakar, on 05/14/2008, -4/+6So when Hillary wins it is because the people are stupid and backwards but if Obama wins they are smart thinkers and looking forwards. What a bunch of hypocrites.
- kreneskyp, on 05/14/2008, -0/+6WV is overwhelmingly white and has a long history of racism. At one point most people in WV were KKK members. kokomo WV was home to the largest KKK gathering recorded (over 200,000 people). Theres also been many people in WV, including current mayors of towns, who admitted they would never vote for a "black man" and that they believed obama was a muslim. I'm not saying its the only thing that gave Hillary the win but it certainly helped. Its sad but racism still exists in this country.
- Monk22, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1"At one point most people in WV were KKK members"
wow just wow. an entire state of kkk. those "hillbilly folks" are not the majority in WV. they have cities and things there as well.
- Monk22, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1"At one point most people in WV were KKK members"
- WhatInThe42o, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1You keep using that word. I don't think that word means what you think it means.

- dinot, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5Clinton overwhelmingly winning the Cloetus vote isn't something to be proud of.
- thanakar, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1So, if Obama had won the Cloetus vote would you then be proud of it?
- footfwd, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2If you read the stories you would know that he knew without a doubt that he had no chance in WV, he conceded the state weeks ago. He decided to focus on other states where he knew he could win more people over.
He's in control of the situation.
- digitronix, on 05/14/2008, -20/+12I don't get why people are so opposed to Hillary and enthusiastic for Obama. There really is no substantial difference between the two whatsoever. They support the exact same policies.
- evan3168, on 05/14/2008, -3/+11Obama never claimed he would obliterate Iran.. thats a substantial difference
- zephyear, on 05/14/2008, -2/+16well
obama's health care plan has an actual chance of getting passed
obama wants to talk with iran, instead of "obliterating them" right away
obama was against iraq from the start
obama is better on civil liberties
he's also more electable, and a hell of a lot more likable - zephyear, on 05/14/2008, -1/+16and he also doesn't support the retarded gas tax plan
- frelk, on 05/14/2008, -1/+13Hillary's ***** is ridiculously transparent. She has a questionable history with ethics and the electorate.
- matc, on 05/14/2008, -2/+19There is one very important, fundamental difference between Obama and Hillary: integrity. This election is not just about policies (yes there is little diff. between the Dems on this, and even between all 3 candidates when you look at the broader view).
This election is about keeping ***** out of the white house. - dagamer34, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3Your statement is somewhat false. Obama often goes FURTHER in his initiatives like electronic health records so we can have computers check for potential complications or an actual broadband plan to deal with this countries non-existent infrastructure. Hillary has nothing about that.
- pintomp3, on 05/14/2008, -2/+8she voted for the war in iraq.
she voted for the kyle/lieberman bill which would authorize the use of force against the iranian national guard.
http://www.baltimorechronicle.com/2007/092607Lindo ...
she voted against banning the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas.
http://www.forward.com/articles/back-bill-to-ban-c ... - taradisiac, on 05/14/2008, -2/+0She comes off as a bossy mom and men don't like that.
- kreneskyp, on 05/14/2008, -0/+5even if the ran with identical policies Obama is still the better candidate. Hillary is the type of person who will go out of her way to destroy people who don't agree with her. Obama will bring people together to work through issues and compromise. Hillary will result in deadlocks and nothing getting passed, just like the current congress and bush (or rubberstamping like the previous congress). Obama will work with congress to enact policies that people on both sides of the isle will be happy to vote for
- zenithmbr, on 05/14/2008, -20/+5lolies i luv barack obama because he likes to change things
- Anonchrist, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1That is the most profound statement ever uttered from the mouth of man. I am not at all surprised that you read the article and felt compelled to share that. I mean, how could we of gone though the day without hearing your disdain for the political involvement of others? Bravo... Bravo
- WhatInThe42o, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I, too, have the power to change things. I changed your -15 to a -16.
- petska, on 05/14/2008, -19/+6States that Hillary will win vs McCain= NY, CA, FL, PA, OH, MI, NJ, MA, IN.. thats more than Half the US population right there
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -4/+4yeah, and those that you listed that have traditionally been democratic are impossible for Obama to carry, and we should forget the fact that it's been shown in every race where Obama has actually been able to get his message to the voters the independents and the republicans vote for him.
Good thing Obama's ignoring Hillary to get his message out to the general election voters.- petska, on 05/14/2008, -5/+5well considering that some people want to eliminate FL & MI voters from the process, how will you convince them to go Obama in Nov after eliminating them now?
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5Who wants to eliminate FL & MI? Every single person I've heard wants to find a fair way to include them and value those states' voters. Name one person who's come out and said '***** FL and MI'?
Whether you want them to just be counted the way they are or if you think they deserve some sort of punishment but should still be represented in some way, no one's saying they should just be forgotten. - koft, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5***** FL and MI in these primaries. The rules were spelled out and they blatantly ignored them.
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4No, ***** their leaders that made that decision, but that doesn't mean the voters deserve to get hosed. It's just incredibly hard to figure out how to do that because of all the variables. Who voted differently because they knew it wouldn't count? Who didn't vote at all? How would the vote have changed with campaigning? Etc... etc... Apparently Michigan democrats actually came up with a plan everyone agreed with but Hillary shot it down because it gave Obama the delegates proportional to the 'undecided' vote.
- koft, on 05/14/2008, -3/+2The voters deserve it because they put those leaders in place. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything it seems. If Obama is the next president and he messes everything up, I'll blame myself for it because I will have cast a vote that helped put him there.
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5Who wants to eliminate FL & MI? Every single person I've heard wants to find a fair way to include them and value those states' voters. Name one person who's come out and said '***** FL and MI'?

- resevil83, on 05/14/2008, -9/+4OBAMA!!! If anyone watched the West Virgina Primaries they understand that Obama lost it. However, they also may have noted something very suspicious with Hillary's speech. I took the liberty by taking a screen grab to show you. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk287/resevil83 ... You can find the video on the internet.
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3Meh, there are plenty of reasons to dislike Hillary other than her choice of backdrop. If you remember Obama's background after the North Carolina was a bunch of old white women. It's just the way it's played.
- taradisiac, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2It's dishonest and insulting to us. Thinking we'll be swayed by something so trivial.
- Mejari, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4Or it's just marketing. You really think hot babes will make out in your backyard if you buy a certain brand of beer? No, of course not, but even the insinuation affects you subconsciously. There's nothing wrong with showing at least one black person supports you or at least one group of old white women supports you.
- taradisiac, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2It's dishonest and insulting to us. Thinking we'll be swayed by something so trivial.
- DVision2406, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I wonder how much he got paid???
- resevil83, on 05/14/2008, -3/+2I understand how the marketing game is played. I just made this doodle just to show everyone the point that we've made in this discussion so far. I can't say that some black people do not support HIllary, because they do. To have a black man in a eye soaring yellow shirt is just a little pathetic to me. You can tell that someone is trying way to hard. I REALLY hope that a miracle happens and Ron Paul becomes our President. He seems like the only person who isn't trying to pull any stunts. (I like his politics too) I'm just SICK of the Hillary/Obama battle.

- Track3r, on 05/14/2008, -8/+13Is it really necessary to make a Digg post every time someone announces their support for a candidate?
- insomniacal, on 05/14/2008, -4/+5It's all about the superdelegates, apparently. We're a republic -- not a democracy.

- m4lomb, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5Ahem, a republic is a state or country that is not led by a hereditary monarch where the people of that state or country have impact on its government. Republics are often associated with democracy. India, for example, the largest democracy in the world, is considered a Republic, as is the United States.... just my 2 cents....

The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive and most likely to be decided by superdelegates If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com
If youre tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support either Clinton or Obama- thanakar, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2This is wrong, Superdelegates should NOT be making their choices known unless they are needed after the actual Primary.
- yojiffyskippy, on 05/14/2008, -6/+7How is it possible that Hillary won the IN popular vote yet Obama has the lead with the committed Super-delegates? Something seems very odd. - kreneskyp, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5because more delegates are distributed for the populous areas that obama won. They also realize hillary is not going to be the nominee and drawing out the fight is not good

- alishah98, on 05/14/2008, -1/+0the b*tch still not quitting!!!
- amightywind, on 05/14/2008, -2/+5Interesting that there are no front page stories about Hillary's destruction of Obama yesterday in West Virginia. Black Jesus lost 70% to 30% in a state that has voted with the winning President since 1916! Since the Wrightgate, Obama has collapsed spectularly in the rust belt swing states. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
- NeMoD, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3We all knew that was going to happen months before the primary
- WhatInThe42o, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Only the people who pay attention, and know what they're talking about. Guys like this talking abortion can't be expected to understand.
- banderwocky, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I don't understand where or how your bigotry (border lining racism) fits into what America is supposed to stand for. You consistently point out weak political views which I can understand, but then you take pointed shots at race or religious beliefs. Where does that fit into the Constitution or Bill of Rights? Do these articles only apply to White Christians in your eyes?

- PamalaLauren, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3A huge percentage of white people voted for Clinton in WV. What's sad is most voted for her because Obama is black. I don't care who you vote for but not voting for someone because he's black is just plain ignorant and racist. So you know what, those fools deserve Clinton.
- amightywind, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4So Obama's insults of working white people of faith who own guns had no effect? That might have had something to do with it.
- WhatInThe42o, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1You sound bitter. And you sound like you're clinging to your imaginary friend and replacement penis.

- oldcyborg, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I am from WV, and can tell you that no one in their right mind would even worry about what WV does. I am for Obama, but it was a lost cause. The average person in this state does Not educate themselves, and we have a history that goes WAY back, of electing and reelecting crooks and shysters to office......
The continued support of the superdelegates for Obama, just shows that this is true...... I love WV, but its Politics are horrific.....
Cyborg - rottencod, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I support Obama, but I think all the calls for Hillary to quit are hurting the DNC's chances in November. She needs to stay it so it doesn't look to her supporters like she was "pushed out" before it was over. If she quits now, HRC supporters will cry about how she was "treated unfairly" and be that much harder to convince to vote for Obama in November. She needs to stay in, even though she can't win. Let her quit next month -- it won't change the outcome of the primaries. Obama will still be the nominee, and Hillary's supporters won't feel as cheated. It isn't about Hillary - she's done for anyway. It IS about half the Democratic Party threatening to vote Republican in November just to spite Obama, because they can't handle democracy in action.
- freedomwv, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1OK. Has everyone forgotten that while Obama makes a big talk about less spending and fixing things at home be is the leading supporter of a bill which commits America to spend over $800 billion dollars on overseas aid though a UN resolution. We already have a national debt of over 9 trillion dollars and he wants to add another $800 billion to that debt. I can only support a president who is committed to lowering the debt not making it higher.
If only people would listen to us libertarians more. Now bury by comment and watch some more baseball.
