Our 4th Amendment rights were stolen in the drug war and now they can get away with murder. - ChesapeakeBaybe, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3This is an outrage. How much more evidence is required to prove that the "war on drugs" is a sham and a complete waste of our tax dollars.
- techie4life, on 11/27/2007, -1/+1Drugs ***** people up, I have seen it first hand. Drugs cause stupid people to do stupid ***** to other people. you cannot argue that fact. You don't think the war on drugs is necessary, what happens when a drug addict kills an innocent mother and/or children for drug money? what about their rights? Kathryn Johnston shot at officers who were clearly identified as officers, wearing SWAT gear. Her death was unfortunate, but it was her own stupidity that got her killed. You don't shoot at cops, EVER.

1) A drug addict who kills anyone for drug money has killed someone. That's the crime, not the vice of drug use.
2)Drug addicts only kill people for drug money because the prices are artificially inflated by the black market. This same thing happened during alcohol prohibition, then when alcohol was re-legalized, criminal violence surrounding alcohol virtually disappeared.
2)Drug-related violence was unknown on the North American continent prior to the first drug laws in 1913. Prior to that, no less than heroine was available in corner drug stores. Sears and Roebuck sold heroine in pre-measured, safe doses, with a clean needle, via it's catalog.
4)The raid on Kathryn Johnston's House was a no-knock raid. They knocked the door down, and she shot at them before she knew who they were, as soon as the door was forced open. Clearly marked or not, she didn't know they were cops, and had no reason to believe she would be raided. She thought they were home invaders, and defended her home. That's not stupidity, it's courage, my friend.
5)The cops acted on a false tip, falsified the application for the warrant, got caught planting drugs in the house during the follow-up investigation, tried to convince an informant to lie to the FBI that she was actually a known drug dealer, and lied about who shot the three officers, even though they knew it was friendly fire. None of these are acts of good faith.
6)Drugs do f*** people up ...sometimes... which is why I choose not to use them. Legalizing drugs would not prohibit a single person from choosing not to use drugs. - blewsdawg, on 12/08/2007, -0/+1Techie4life,
