--Joseph Stalin - jwaf, on 10/31/2008, -7/+211Two stolen elections and "A network security expert with high-level US government clearances says the documents raise troubling questions"! McClueless thinks this is in the bag for him.
If people don't think they will try to steal this one, they need to wake up!
- - avahome, on 10/31/2008, -4/+188Why isn't the FBI looking into this?
- allowners, on 10/31/2008, -3/+153Paper Ballet.
- rald84, on 10/31/2008, -1/+122huh. why do they need servers for vote totals even at the precinct level?
- MrEthiopian, on 11/01/2008, -2/+110OMG!! Why is it that people have no clue what has happened in the last 8 years?? Rolling Stone did a wonderful synopsis of the voting issues in 2004, its rather a long read but well worth your time if you care for the USA not having fraudulent elections : http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/10432334/wa ...
The media is part of the problem, ABC,NBC, FOX,CNN,BBC, ETC all failed to ask questions that were raised by bloggers and other third party news organizations
Another site you should read is http://blackboxvoting.org/ this site was created because of the inaccuracy's and illegal activity around electronic voting, this site and its patrons republican, Democrats, independents and third parties who want fair elections.
You don't have much time, we the people of America have been robbed of fair elections, I have given you the basics, read what I have given you, do some of your own research, Google, dogpile - iching, on 10/31/2008, -5/+97This is an important story that shows why the Acorn
stuff was pushed by the right and exposes the corruption of our electoral process by the Republicans. ... please digg. - dracostimpy, on 10/31/2008, -11/+101Because the FBI only investigates what it's told to investigate. Remember that whole 9/11 thing? We're still waiting for the FBI to get cracking on that one, too.
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -4/+86I think you meant ballot, unless this was an obscure reference to Swan Lake which I totally missed.
- thebradmiskell, on 10/31/2008, -4/+71Okay, this needs to get some attention.
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -3/+64Excellent quote. If Democrats are socialists/Marxists, then Republicans are Stalinists/Fascists.
- angeladtao, on 11/01/2008, -2/+53This is not news. I have been reading about hacked voting machines for years. Nothing will be done as long as the party in power benefits from this kind of corruption.
- CloakandSwagger, on 11/01/2008, -1/+51America ranks 139 out of 172 countries in voter turnout.
So, not only is there limited participation, but that limited number runs a significant risk of falling victim to some form of error or sabatoge.
Some serious attention needs to be directed towards election reform. - FlaG8r, on 11/01/2008, -3/+45This is why the 50-state strategy was so important. Obama having so many paths to 270 means the GOP can't steal this one by turning one state.
The fact that Obama can get to 270 with just the battlegrounds that have Dem governors is also a huge plus this time. - apastafarian, on 11/01/2008, -5/+43Gore's victory was stolen in Florida and we did nothing. Kerry was robbed in Ohio, the Democrats blamed themselves for letting it happen and we did nothing. It has cost us many personal freedoms, national power and wealth. What will we do in 4 days if it happens again?
- heystoopid, on 11/01/2008, -0/+36Like thieves in the night , thy steal much and often with out hindrance .
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -0/+32Did someone lose their sense of humor?
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -4/+30The reason this ***** continues after 2000 is the Regressives have been in control. Under a Dem govt, we need to enact legislature that would take this out of the hands of a few biased people. BASTARDS!
- 33PercentGod, on 11/02/2008, -3/+27How else would they tinker with the results?
- allowners, on 11/01/2008, -2/+25Yes, I suspect a paper ballet would be rather entertaining. ;) I was using the international spelling. :)
- allowners, on 11/01/2008, -2/+25No problem, I didn't take it as an insult, FrankHope is among those I respect. Thanks for your support though, I appreciate the thought.
- joand315, on 11/01/2008, -2/+24The Obama campaign studied these losses extensively. He did not do nothing. That's why he's invested so heavily in Protect the Vote. He has 5000 lawyers in Florida alone. The Republicans can only suppress so many votes. They are not all powerful.
I think the 50 state strategy is tremendously important, and we should thank Howard Dean for putting the Democrats on that path even before Obama announced his run for the White House. - tao52nyc, on 11/02/2008, -1/+21Let's say it Digg style:
Paper ballot, or it didn't happen. - theviceroy, on 11/02/2008, -2/+21Revolt, if we have any Americanism left in us at all.
- magicmarker44, on 11/01/2008, -2/+21everyone should watch the documentary film FREE FOR ALL! which documents the whole story of how the GOP stole the election in ohio in 2004: http://www.freeforall.tv
- wherearemymeds, on 11/01/2008, -3/+22Because Bush/Cheney have had too many bindings on this agency--I have a feeling that Obama may try to get this straightened out.
- inactive, on 11/01/2008, -0/+18Scary *****!
- wherearemymeds, on 11/01/2008, -0/+18I like your cultural inclusion AND I knew what you meant! :)
- VitriolAndAngst, on 11/02/2008, -4/+21More proof that todays Republican party is merely the front for an organized criminal syndicate.
- wherearemymeds, on 11/01/2008, -2/+18This needs to be major news until we finally get it cleaned up.
- mtnmusicman, on 11/01/2008, -2/+17I think I'll have to move...seriously.. I survived cancer 2 years ago, I really thought of not fighting it because of the financial burden on my family. I'm just getting my head above water, and if McBush is elected, it will devastate me.
- Dustin00, on 11/02/2008, -0/+15And if I was an Ohio tax payer and voter, I'd be asking "Why is Tennessee handling our voting at all???"
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -2/+17We are busy trying to wrest back our lives from the likes of you.
Get a conscience, moral compass, some humanity... in short -a soul. - inactive, on 11/02/2008, -1/+15How much does you cost? What is your price?
Everything in America is for sale, even the government! - ShaneinNY, on 11/02/2008, -2/+16I voted today after waiting two hours in the rain. I'm so happy we're going to retake our country after 8 loooong years of Republican occupation.
- 955701, on 11/02/2008, -0/+14You know something is horribly wrong when you see the words "elections" and "Internet" on a network schematic.
- dsmx, on 11/02/2008, -0/+13Isn't this technically illegal?
- jessehadden, on 11/02/2008, -1/+13People keep blaming the Republicans as the reason this sh*t keeps on continuing today.
It's not just the Republicans. It's also every single person who says, "That's crazy. They could never steal an election in the US. Put your tinfoil hat back on."
It's every single disenfranchised Democrat, third-party candidate and independent who says, "Well, I think I got robbed, but I best keep that opinion to myself and just accept it." (Are you listening to me, Democratic party?)
It's literally everybody in the United States Senate, of both parties, who silenced every representative from the House on just this issue 8 years ago.
Don't be fooled by the partisan rhetoric... by providing absolutely no opposition, the Democrats have demonstrated themselves to be willing enablers. - Glofern, on 11/01/2008, -1/+13This is another example of what crooks in power will do to keep their power - even those who most likely had family in the not so distant past who fought and died for that right to vote - yes, that's you Mr. Blackwell. Too bad you lost your quest to become Governor of Ohio.
The answer here has got to be paper or at the very least, a verified voting trail that the voter gets to check before leaving the polling booth and then the voter places that paper in a secure box that can be used for recounting if necessary.
I also am happy that Howard Dean and Barack Obama were smart enough to demand a 50 state strategy so that they could expand their opportunity to win as well as give voice to the millions of Democrats who live in states that the old school Democrats didn't think even mattered to campaign in.
Go Obama! - muffcakes, on 11/02/2008, -2/+14@0260 I don't think so. Seems like an appropriate analogy to me.
- Zap2, on 11/02/2008, -1/+12Compare votes getting miscounted vs a refs bad call is simply not fair.
There is no "judgement" in counting votes...its all number. - Waiting2awake, on 11/01/2008, -1/+12I wish more Americans would see this wisdom. This isn't a partisan thing at all. The republicans ARE the democrats, and the democrats ARE the republicans. Merely two sides of the same coin.
I really worry about America. Problem - Reaction - Solution; keep flashing through my head - and Bush was one heck of problem, there is one heck of a reaction out there............
In the end, the cold, hard, harsh reality is that those who are most responsible for this happening are the citizens. Yes Bush and his cronies are criminals - but we all know all politicians are criminals, and criminals can't steal something you are watching. Yes, what they did is criminal and they all should stand trial for war crimes - but they wouldn't have had the opportunity had Americans been watching.... In the end, it was the citizens that took their eye off the prize, and the known crooks took advantage of it. ....
Those that really endorse Obama are similar to those yearly neo-cons in so much that they are all believing with the mantra, and what he says. Any suggestion that he might be lying because - you know he IS a politician, is met with the same scorn and ridicule that was met when people suggested Saddam shouldn't be targeted back in 03. Hopefully Obama, if elected, honours the White House and the Nation he will be leading - but without an ever watching populace, he will be free to do what Bush and his ilk have done...
What was it we said about politicians again? - Urbalist, on 11/02/2008, -3/+13I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say that Socialism isn't that bad compared to what we have now. Uh oh , I guess that means we're all terrorists right? Go patriot act !
- akchrs, on 11/02/2008, -0/+10"What will we do in 4 days if it happens again?"
Nothing? - inactive, on 11/01/2008, -2/+11I hate to be the one to point out that this is not just a Republican problem. Democrats are experts at Gerrymandering. It was in the Democratic South that voter disenfranchisement reached its apex, which resulted in the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
There is also the issue of ballot access for 3rd party candidates in which the dem-repub duopoly conspire to keep 3rd parties from participating in elections. The most blatant example of the duopoly in action is the presidential debates which used to be hosted by the League of Women Voters, but is now controlled by the bogus Commission on Presidential Debates. (Listen to some of Ralph Nader's speeches online to get a better sense of this.)
Wikipedia - Presidential Debates
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_debates
The LWV withdrew from debate sponsorship, in protest of the major party candidates attempting to dictate nearly every aspect of how the debates were conducted. On October 2, 1988, the LWV's 14 trustees voted unanimously to pull out of the debates, and on October 3 they issued a dramatic press release:
"The League of Women Voters is withdrawing sponsorship of the presidential debates...because the demands of the two campaign organizations would perpetrate a fraud on the American voter. It has become clear to us that the candidates' organizations aim to add debates to their list of campaign-trail charades devoid of substance, spontaneity and answers to tough questions. The League has no intention of becoming an accessory to the hoodwinking of the American public." - Bith8654, on 11/02/2008, -0/+9I'm pretty sure that's 4chan style if you want to get technical.
- Pseudohawtcakes, on 11/02/2008, -1/+10public needs to know about this
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -2/+11President Al Gore 2000-2008
- DangerCollie, on 11/02/2008, -3/+11If it turns out election results were deliberately manipulated, whoever was involved should be shot. Not life in prison, not years on death row, shot.
Swift, barbaric and final. Yap all you want, invent stories, question each others patriotism, but when it comes to counting votes, anyone convicted of deliberately trying fix an election gets the death penalty.
That's how important it is. I don't care if you want to run the ghost of Dick Cheney, as along as they're elected fair and square. - joshwehatetech, on 11/02/2008, -2/+10Sorry we do not read articles here. Please refer to page 5 of manual.
