- LKnight, on 06/26/2008, -0/+5“Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values. It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason. I may be opposed to abortion for religious reasons, but if I seek to pass a law banning the practice, I cannot simply point to the teachings of my church or evoke God’s will. I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all”
~Barack Obama - Kangalanatolian, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Somebody should ask him why he can't support Chuck Baldwin, the Moral Majority trained Libertarian/Constitutionist running on the Constitution party ticket.
- satyr9us, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Little ol' Jimmy Dobson is only going to get more rash and belligerent as his influence wanes. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, Jimmy.
- danielttt, on 07/27/2008, -0/+2 I suspect his flip flop is all to enhance and enrichen his business. He's responsible for a large payroll now and it is incumbent for any ceo to assure he continues to meet payroll.
I suspect there's little difference between Obama and Dobson with respect to their ultimate goals. These men want and need power. One is trying to maintain it and the other is trying to attain it.
Dobson and Focus ot F has been blessed so much over the years...It just seems Dobson, despite his faith in God, doesn't trust God to continually bless him in the manner to which he has become accustomed. - Kangalanatolian, on 06/26/2008, -2/+3I do not let religious figures speak for me. But I did agree with Dobson that Rudy was not fit to be the president, though for mostly different reasons. Very similar reasons would apply to McCain. In fact, I think even HIS reasons would apply to McCain.
I think Dobson and I would both oppose Obama for his socialism.
What bothers me about Dobson, is that he had every Moral and Constitutional reason to support Ron Paul, and he passed it up. He is a bit player in this media circus.
