- jbenson2, on 08/21/2008, -27/+64Wonder if the left-biased Digg will sponsor anything during the Republican convention.
- solboldi, on 08/21/2008, -35/+60Ah yes...I can see it now...ThinkProgress...JedReport...Puffington Boast...Daily Kos...Mother Jones....Salon...New York Times...LA Times...all in bed together. The Dems are not elitist though..not at all.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -16/+31A tent full of pompous opinionated hacks who cant hack real journalism because their stories would never survive the editorial vetting and fact verification process.
Bloggers used to be interesting, but now it is a business so they are no different than the main stream because now their decision process has to include how their sponsors will react. - NCSD, on 08/21/2008, -12/+27its obvious enough that this site is biased but it would be nice if they tried to stay somewhat neutral and just let the users be the biased ones
- chmcarro, on 08/21/2008, -17/+30Hey Digg,
Why don't you sponsor the Rally for the Republic while you are at it? - krahzee, on 08/22/2008, -14/+25Is anyone shocked? The liberal bias on digg is so transparent.
What Kevin and the digg team need to understand is that for digg to entertain any of it's remaining integrity, it needs to remain neutral.
By sponsoring this tent they are perceived as picking sides. That's fine in the private lives of the site management, but to put it out there in public it can lead to credibility issues.
Why? Just remember, digg is not just another company, it is a news aggregate service. A user run and supported service based on the concept of an unbiased formula to determine what reaches the front page.
By sponsoring this tent, even if done with the most sincere motives of helping the small bloggers get access, it helps lend credence to some of the complaints that some of the more right leaning members of digg have about the site being one big ad for Obama's campaign.
The fact that it is hosted by the daily kos, a blatantly liberal blog, among others does not help one feel secure that they are going for an balanced pool of bloggers.
What will we get? Three more months of bloggers filling up the front page of digg with "stories" about how evil McCain is because he once belched without saying "excuse me" after, instead of stories dealing with the REAL issues facing this country and world.
BTW: Does anyone else see the irony in the site that used to crucify people for linking to blogs now sponsoring them? - benologist, on 08/21/2008, -3/+14Ariana should be giving him a blowjob for all the traffic he gives her. Or maybe that's already the arrangement?
- simonowens, on 08/21/2008, -8/+19I think I heard Google would be sponsoring something for the Republican convention. I think the Republicans were slow to cash in on new media, but last I heard they're now inviting 200 bloggers to their convention, which is more than the 130 the Democrats are inviting.
- Xihix, on 08/21/2008, -14/+25This article alone proves that Digg sucks now.
inb4 it always sucked - ks136, on 08/21/2008, -2/+11He's right about one thing though; my ***** detector went off at full alarm at the word, "rightard".
- ninjacob, on 08/21/2008, -10/+19If the GOP doesn't give a crap about small businesses, then why is it that the DEMOCRAT run congress has run all of the small businesses off of Capitol Hill?
- aubs, on 08/21/2008, -11/+20More details on The Big Tent - including the full schedule of events - can be found at http://www.BigTentDenver.org
- GrodyChamp, on 08/22/2008, -9/+17Does this make huffpo and Digg officially in bed now? ***** I think I'm going to puke.
- ancientshoes, on 08/21/2008, -12/+20digg sponsor democratic convention blogger? never saw THAT one coming
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -2/+10There were never many small businesses on capitol hill unless you count all the prostitutes and liquor stores.
- richirwin, on 08/22/2008, -1/+9Arianna Huffington owns 27 homes in 45 states.
Uh... - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -2/+9Blogs have become an essential element of the fact verification process. If it weren't for blogs, Alberto Gonzales and Donald Rumsfeld would still be employed and Bill O'Reilly wouldn't have that permanent grimace like he's piching a 20lb loaf.
- malex, on 08/21/2008, -4/+11Citizen journalism is "elitist" now? What a country!
- 15charmaxwtf, on 08/21/2008, -4/+11So the Democrats do give a crap about small business? Hah.
Generally it is best looking at what people do, not what they say. - boonesfarm, on 08/22/2008, -2/+9"We are the majority. If you don't like us, tough."
How 'democrat'ic of you. Open-minded too. Why not cut our mic? - vandernderyid, on 08/21/2008, -4/+11"9,000-square foot"
Phew. We'll be safe so long as it's not OVER 9000! - chmcarro, on 08/21/2008, -1/+7http://rally.campaignforliberty.com/sponsors/
- solboldi, on 08/22/2008, -3/+6They won't cover the bloggers at the RNC though.
- geekee, on 08/22/2008, -2/+7"Don't like the liberal bias of digg?
Then leave! "
I don't like the fact that the liberal bias on Digg makes you dumber than you already are. I have to live with the idiot you are going to vote for. - TheInformer, on 08/22/2008, -0/+5No one's forcing you to read those comments. If you're so upset with the "bitching", why don't you leave?
Pot, meet kettle. - floorman56, on 08/22/2008, -0/+4reality has a liberal bias.
Survival of the fittest is liberal?
In nature the weak is controlled or eaten by the biggest
The lead of the pride ...Doesn't share the females or power
The alpha couple of the pack don't let the "lesser" wolfs breed
You need to rethink what Reality is ..... - aubs, on 08/22/2008, -3/+7Digg is sponsoring programs & events at both conventions - we're hosting The Big Tent in Denver during the DNC as the article reports, and are partnering with MySpace, Rock the Vote, and Impact Film Festival to host a party on Sunday, August 31st in Minneapolis for the Republican National Convention. All the details are here: http://blog.digg.com/?p=142
- CaptainNoPants, on 08/22/2008, -0/+4WND is full of ***** too. LGF, Kos, WND, Huffpo, etc. They only report opinions, and most of the time they're belligerent.
- postaldave, on 08/22/2008, -1/+5truely shocking, i know.
- pintomp3, on 08/22/2008, -2/+6reality has a liberal bias.
- geekee, on 08/22/2008, -1/+4The problem with your thinking is that anyone who diagrees with you must be doing it on purpose to piss you off, and are therefore trolls. You may want to consider that you are a clueless idiot instead and that the anti-McCain articles are ***** disguised as news.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -4/+7All I want are some pics of Kevin giving the high hard one to Ariana!
Dont forget to wear your safari hat Kevin! Those cougars have been known to get a little rough in the sack. - TheInformer, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3Actually, considering the Digg populace, Digg should be hosting the Libertarian convention with Bob Barr.
- TheInformer, on 08/22/2008, -1/+4Want something even more delicious?
Go reread all of the articles and threads trying to control the damage of McCain punking Obama in the recent debate. They were and are priceless. - minox, on 08/21/2008, -10/+13I'm hoping for a natural disaster. That should really declutter digg's front page.
- Barackalypse, on 08/22/2008, -7/+10That's gotta be a slap in the face to these folks, they're so far wacky liberal that even the Democrats don't want them at the main convention.
- solboldi, on 08/21/2008, -15/+18Is PBS promoting the liberal bloggers?
- dn11, on 08/21/2008, -3/+6hey man whatever. better than smelling like old man *****.
- johndavidjack, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3Yeah, honestly, I thought the Dems were classier than that.
Digg doesn't represent the majority of Dems; or so I thought... - gpageau, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Yes, the CBS documents were forgeries, and it was a team of bloggers that discovered and proved it. That's the point. Bloggers have been active on both sides of the political divide.
It is interesting how the mainstream media -- whatever that is -- is silent on so many big stories -- like John Edwards' infidelities and McCain's dubious supporters -- but we can never get a damn break about who Lindsay Lohan is dating. - dsgamer, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2@richirwin
how does that work? - ninjacob, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2stagmire,
I know you're trying to be funny, but that's not true. For one, all the small-run cafeterias were run out and replaced with Restaurant Associates. - SpinningHead, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3Nah, the moonbats are busy using their sonar to find WMDs
- JNudda, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2I find that very unlikely, as Google is one of the top contributors to the Obama campaign.
http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contrib.php?cycl ... - ninjacob, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2ahoy,
Not everything in Congress comes to a vote. The Dems have the majority, which means they control the officers of the House, and the CAO is responsible for service contracts. The CAO is a very political democrat. - inactive, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3It's not the number of stories that matters, but their relative signficance. Taking down two high profile cabinet members is a pretty big deal. The mainstream media hasn't accomplished such a feat since Watergate.
- 5urr3al5am, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2@pintomp3 -- really? in what sense? I hear people say that on digg from time to time, I tend to disagree .. what do you mean?
- postaldave, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3digg would go dark......
