prisonplanet.com — The self-proclaimed digital democracy Digg.com has been caught red-handed artificially suppressing and censoring Ron Paul stories by expunging them from the website with just one bury, despite the fact that thousands of other Digg users are voting the stories up.
- 1526 diggs
- digg it
- delelles, on 01/17/2008, -11/+125If this is the case, then all articles with a Presidential candidate in the tite/description should be removed from the index after 1 bury as well.
- theblueprint, on 01/17/2008, -45/+16First of all, the allegations in the submission are *****. There's no proof offered, other than an anecdote based from the results of a "bury recorder" that may or may not be accurate.
Second, aside from Huckabee, no other candidate's supporters have organized to game Digg for the purpose of getting Paul free publicity. Until there's evidence of other candidate's supporters spamming and gaming Digg to the extent that Paulestinians have, your comparison is completely invalid.- cyborgmind, on 01/17/2008, -6/+18Thank you for the "free" publicity...
- argusbargus, on 01/17/2008, -3/+13Concerning your allegation that "aside from Huckabee, no other candidate's supporters have organized to game Digg for the purpose of getting Paul free publicity", in your own words, "There's no proof offered, other than an anecdote".
- artemus, on 01/17/2008, -5/+11Gee blueprint, do you actually ENJOY being on my block list, or does being a jerk just come to you naturally?
- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -11/+9Obviously he's not on your block list.
- theblueprint, on 01/18/2008, -10/+8I enjoy being on your block list, Mr Cruise... I've known for a long time that "you can't handle the truth", and blocking me just confirms it.
- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -9/+10Do what I did and conduct an experiment. Turn on their little utility, and then bury it. Mine never showed up in there.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -25/+15That tool watches DiggSpy, which never catches all of the activity with a story. It caught a bury, that doesn't mean there weren't more.
- honestjoe, on 01/17/2008, -9/+27This has been happening for quite some time and the preponderance of evidence proves that they actively engage in censorship! There is a lot of irrefutable evidence out there. Here is just a brief example as I do not have time to post much of it and it would take up to much space.

http://www.digg.com/tech_news/Digg_s_Hex_Censorshi ...- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -15/+15Know what proves it's not censorship? The fact that you can link to them.
You must be a child to believe the bury option on Digg is censorship.- argusbargus, on 01/17/2008, -4/+12"Censorship is the suppression or deletion of material, which may be considered objectionable, harmful or sensitive, as determined by a censor" - wikipedia
These articles have been removed from sight from the average user. By definition, that is censorship. The bury option is to allow the user to suppress material that he/she finds objectionable, harmful or sensitive, thus a censor button. Belief by children or adults is irrelevant - it is purely a matter of definition. I don't understand why the concept is so hard to grasp. - chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -6/+8"Censorship is the suppression or deletion of material, which may be considered objectionable, harmful or sensitive, as determined by a censor"
It is not the suppression, you can still access the articles. There is not a "censor", either.
This is like claiming that TV Viewers "censor" reality show candidates by voting them off, it's ridiculous. - argusbargus, on 01/18/2008, -4/+6Chaos, show me, where on the front page these highly dugg articles are.
"Voter suppression is a form of electoral fraud and refers to the use of governmental power, political campaign strategy, and private resources aimed at suppressing (i.e. reducing) the total vote of opposition candidacies instead of attempting to change likely voting behavior by changing the opinions of potential voters." - wikipedia
Clearly the removal of the highly dugg (voted) articles from the front page constitutes voter suppression. Please stop pretending that suppression and deletion are the same thing. You claim it is not suppressed because it is not deleted as though they are the same thing. Is that why it is so hard for you to grasp - you don't understand the definitions of the words that you are using? - argusbargus, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6So, you are saying that Kevin Rose is lying when he says that DIGG does have censors.
http://themulife.com/?p=333 - chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -4/+4"Chaos, show me, where on the front page these highly dugg articles are. "
Why should they be on the front page? They do not match the criteria for hitting the frontpage.
To put this in a way you may understand, the frontpage is supposed to be "fresh" new content. If diggs alone were enough, the same articles would remain on the frontpage forever. - argusbargus, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Chaos, you must be new here. Let me explain: the front page is ordered by time. If you keep clicking the next button, you will get to the time period that the article was submitted. The front page is kept "fresh" by adding new front page articles at the top of page 1, contrary to your incorrect assertion. If you need to acquaint yourself more with the concept of front page, go to the DIGG search engine and see the drop down "All Stories", "Front Page Stories", and "Upcoming Stories". You will see that DIGG never intended that that "front page" meant the same thing as "page 1 of front page".
It is not just a matter of suppression from the front page - it is also from the search engine. Here's a little experiment - click on this:
http://digg.com/search?section=all&s=naacp
and see if you find this:
http://digg.com/politics/NAACP_President_Ron_Paul_ ...
You will not find it. It has been deleted from the front page and from the search engine. It has been suppressed. It has been censored.
- argusbargus, on 01/17/2008, -4/+12"Censorship is the suppression or deletion of material, which may be considered objectionable, harmful or sensitive, as determined by a censor" - wikipedia
- lostangelonline, on 01/17/2008, -6/+7i've just sent this email to the Digg Team:
Dear DIGG Team,
Many of us diggers have found out anomalies in the voting system. They all have the same symptom; here is one example:
"At exactly 43 votes the story received one bury for spam, and then it completely disappeared from the upcoming sidebar at Digg in its particular category. I ran a search for TechCrunch posts (newest via URL) on Digg to see whether it was there; nothing, clicked the include buried stories post: bingo, the post appeared in the list."
What is even more strange is that almost all stories that got buried this way were stories related to the congressman RP running for president. We the diggers found this situation outrageous and urge the Digg team to solve this issue asap.
Please let us know your stand through a public post on the digg site.
Sincerely,
We The Diggers- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -8/+8Actually I have had several anti-Ron Paul stories hitting upcoming and moving up quickly before the Bury Brigade came along and censored me.

Hilarious. Looks like we have ourselves another conceptkid here.
- pcapostate, on 01/17/2008, -5/+14Digg censors 100% of everything I submit
- M4v3rIC, on 01/17/2008, -3/+8"Digg censors 100% of everything I submit" way to back that up.
- chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -9/+6Maybe 100% of what you submit is fecal matter.
It's not obliged to hit the front page, you know. - chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -3/+5Wow, I actually looked at your threads.
First of all, they don't get many diggs to begin with, most times less than ten.
Secondly,
"The Dirty Work of Zionism is Unfinished"
"Another Black Male in the “Wrong Place at the Wrong Time.”
"Letter from David Duke to a Questioner of Diversity"
"Curtis Maynard and the Jewish Question"
"Queer white parents bring 2-year old girls to gay fetish fair"
"Four ***** Responsible for Murdering White Girl Emily Haddock Arrested"
"Bill O'Reilly is a Lying Son of a Whore"
Okay, maybe the last one is correct, but why exactly are you demanding not to be dugg down for your White Supremacist submissions? - onetimer, on 01/18/2008, -7/+3Wow, you really are a sick *****, pcapostate. Go take your filth and hate mongering back to StormFront or ronpaulforums.
- Parapadrifter, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6jeezz you should take your own medicine and go to dailykos or newrepublic...

- brightmarc, on 01/17/2008, -3/+6Digg censored my story about the YouTube Forums
- phronko, on 01/17/2008, -4/+4Digg censored my story that linked to the front page of my blog for no reason at all. It's like the only stories that make it to the front page are things that people find interesting and the rest totally get censored....wtf...
- COINTELPROAgent, on 01/18/2008, -6/+7"Digg censored my story about the YouTube Forums" Well here's a clue for you: your story sucked, so digg users censored it.
- notque, on 01/18/2008, -3/+5Digg has censored stories though. Try submitting anything about banned users, and they will bury it. We had one up something like 400 diggs in 20 hours, with no comments buried in a massively large thread.
- EditorResponse, on 01/18/2008, -7/+2notque, it was probably that you Marxists were trying to take over.
/s
- royall64, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2I would be such an ass if I clicked bury...
Must...resist... - bluezinc, on 01/20/2008, -1/+2Yes, we NEVER hear about RON PAUL on DIGG.COM!
You mean every single story isn't about the messiah himself? CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!
- theblueprint, on 01/17/2008, -45/+16First of all, the allegations in the submission are *****. There's no proof offered, other than an anecdote based from the results of a "bury recorder" that may or may not be accurate.

- CaptainNoPants, on 01/17/2008, -17/+19Hilarious.
- Gratefuldead, on 01/17/2008, -2/+7they're not their
- noctem314, on 01/17/2008, -6/+7Is this just a big joke I'm not getting?
There's so many people on here that sound so sincere putting down digg, and yet they're on the bloody site! So many talking about how this proves something, so few of which seem sarcastic, when the "evidence" is about as far as you could get from any sort of proof!
A *third-party tool* that monitors digg's *apparent activity* shows a *single article* submitted by a *single member* sinking after one bury. While this seems to be an instance where digg's logic is a bit off, it hardly qualifies as proof of some conspiracy. Maybe a software glitch, maybe a badly-tweaked algorithm acting too extreme, maybe justified but taken out of context (based on user credibility or past activity, etc.). The point is, nobody knows because the internal workings of digg are not known. It's a black box, so you'd need a whole load of regulated tests carried out against it to even guess at the reasons behind any apparent fault.
Geez, I actually thought the article was satire at first, it seemed so ridiculous... - EditorResponse, on 01/18/2008, -7/+3towne420, all this bitching and one story submit, with thirty comments, NOT ONE friend and you have been here since August 1st, 2007. If the place bugs you so much what keeps you? ...you hardly exist anyway!
- 12Bo, on 01/17/2008, -69/+23ok irrational RP supporter don't throw Digg under the bus so quickly like many of you have done to RP because of the so-called rascist stories that came to light. Lets wait for a response, if one will even be issued. If this is the case then just turn off the politics checkbox on the customize link and just go back to what digg was great for. TECH NEWS. Again, if you are watching Digg for all your political views then great but i recommend doing some research and looking into other form of content. One more thing besides all of the trolls and RP haters Digg is largely a libertarian independent base.
"Here is a spoon, you know what to do with it."- DodgerBlues, on 01/17/2008, -17/+9I agree. People get so emotional so fast.

- EditorResponse, on 01/18/2008, -7/+1Exactly what I thought. Digg is a hangout for socialists, Marxists, and antiRepuiblican....NOT Libertarian.
- Herkimer56, on 01/17/2008, -21/+13Why would anyone respond to a story from a sensationalist waste dump like Prison Planet? None of their other content is reliable and neither is this. That's why it's been labeled as inaccurate.
- 12Bo, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6Explain why it is inaccurate. Site some sources that prove it is inaccurate and I will digg you up. Just because you don't believe it, doesn't make it false.
- gandhii, on 01/17/2008, -1/+10good comment.. depressing it got dugg down so far... ;[
- 12Bo, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Thank you. For once I was trying to be serious and not immature in my posting. But i couldn't help it with the "eat my ass" remark at the end. No but seriously, I was trying to bring to lite that many mouse pad activists and trolls are IRRATIONAL and tend to let their emotions trump common sense.
Don't believe it, then research it.
Then make an informed decision.

- shakingfist, on 01/17/2008, -5/+2For that matter, the world wide web was created for tech, so we shouldn't mind if someone wants to censor everything else?
- chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -5/+8Burying isn't censorship.
- ronpaulftw, on 01/17/2008, -14/+163digg, just as bad as any other lying corporate machine.
you should be ashamed of yourself.
reddit.com- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -24/+28I highly encourage all Paul supporters to leave Digg and go to Reddit.
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -7/+19What would you do all day then?
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -22/+13Enjoy Digg a lot more.
- BrapAllgood, on 01/17/2008, -6/+9You act like people step in front of you shouting Ron Paul! No. It is a *choice* you make over and over again to click on the stories associated with him. No amount of burying could *ever* make more time for you to go digg the subjects you actually find interest in. I have been watching you and several other complete losers troll Ron Paul posts since June. Your redundant behavior shows that this *is* how you enjoy Digg. It's absolutely no wonder some people think you (and certain others) are paid. It's easier for me to believe you just get off on putting down the interests of others because the internet makes your dicks feel bigger.
Well, then here's another perfect chance for you to have a Coke and a smile and get back to doing what you do so well. - COINTELPROAgent, on 01/18/2008, -10/+7Brap, I got involved with this because RP supporters were going to other people's submissions, even about other candidates and topics, and harrassing the heck out of them. Me included.
Spam is spam, whether it's a spam story or comment spam. The harrassment by you people is what drove me over the edge, and a lot of other people too. - onetimer, on 01/18/2008, -8/+8...AND brappie makes another post with a reference to male genatalia. Can't break the streak, can you?
- hollyberrry, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3LOL! I found this story on Reddit, after checking digg for the day.
- BrapAllgood, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3@CONINTELPROAgent: You are saying you started harassing Ron Paul supporters because they harassed you?!? Ridiculous logic you have there. Go read Batman comics until you learn better.
@onetimer: .^.

- card51short, on 01/17/2008, -6/+11"Enjoy Digg a lot more."
Alone in your "Ron Paul is a Slave Owner" threads?
You would enjoy that? - onetimer, on 01/17/2008, -11/+12Those threads wouldn't exist
- ZZeke, on 01/17/2008, -5/+17@Hornton: *****. There's nothing you trolls enjoy more than antagonizing people with different opinions or ideas than you. You'll be wherever anybody is pushing stories and ideas you don't agree with, whether it's RP, Alex Jones, Raw Story, Huff Po, NYT - it doesn't matter.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -11/+12Welcome to the internet, you must be new around here.
I wouldn't be a good troll if I didn't piss people off, now would I? - ZZeke, on 01/17/2008, -6/+6First of all, you know damn well I'm no noob - besides the fact that what I said has absolutely nothing to do with my internet experience. Second of all, thanks for confirming exactly what I was saying and thus proving that your comment about "enjoying digg alot more" was complete *****. Trolls are only happy when they're pissing someone off - that was my whole point!
- Hortnon, on 01/18/2008, -8/+9Being a good troll and enjoying Digg are two very different things.
- theblueprint, on 01/18/2008, -10/+7"There's nothing you trolls enjoy more than antagonizing people with different opinions or ideas than you."
I like to antagonize douchebags and idiots, not people with differing opinions. It just so happens that Paulestinians and Truthers are the best of both worlds. - ZZeke, on 01/19/2008, -0/+1Blue, you and I have had plenty of reasonably intelligent debates here, all insults and jabs aside. You're the one being a douchebag when you classify people who don't agree with you (RP supporters and "truthers") as douchebags and idiots...
Again, you're proving my point about trolls and how they operate - you don't like Paul, and you don't want to hear anything about 911 unless it comes from the government - so that makes anyone who supports those things a douchebag or an idiot?
That's some real self-serving logic there, pal - "I don't like these ideas, so anyone who does is just a douchebag or an idiot"....real scientific discovery there, lab-boy....
I'll give you this: there are alot of people here on digg with nothing more to add than "RON PAUL 2008" or "DOWN WITH NWO" - if that's all you have to add, you might be a douchebag or an idiot, it's true - but just like Hornton, your comment belies your absolutist nature, the tendency to write off anyone who doesn't think like you do - and then you go a step further in admitting that you "like to antagonize" them - further emphasizing the point I made in the first place!
Trolls are trolls, and they do what they do, it's plain for all to see - if that works for you, that's fine - but don't even try to justify it to me with that kind of twisted logic. - ZZeke, on 01/19/2008, -1/+1Hornton: Not if you're a troll they aren't. I "enjoy digg" without trolling and insisting on antagonizing others, seeking out stories I don't agree with. If you're a troll, that's what makes you happy in the first place, so I don't see your point at all.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -11/+12Welcome to the internet, you must be new around here.
- NonServium, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6If Reddit became as popular as Digg, he'd go there and harass Ron Paul supporters there and tell them to leave again. The idea is to make places where stories are likely to be seen by a lot of people hostile enough so that news which challenges the establishment isn't published there.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -22/+13Enjoy Digg a lot more.
- COINTELPROAgent, on 01/17/2008, -14/+14Hear hear. All of you whining little brats should just go reddit where you can listen to other whiny little brats and console each other. People here are sick of your spam.
- artemus, on 01/17/2008, -8/+11I don't think you're in a position to call anyone a "brat", considering your childish behavior.
- COINTELPROAgent, on 01/18/2008, -9/+7"I don't think you're in a position to call anyone a "brat", considering your childish behavior." And what childish behavior might that be? Asking who wrote Ron Paul's racist newsletters?
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -7/+19What would you do all day then?
- JohnFive, on 01/17/2008, -8/+29Digg has been going down hill for me since I joined. All their lil fancy social perks are pointless when one person has control of what gets published. ***** digg. Every day its getting more in line with MSM. What kind of alternative is that?
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -20/+12Yeah! All those stories about Kucinich not allowed in the debate never frontpaged!
- card51short, on 01/17/2008, -6/+12exactly...there's no one targeting Kucinich because he has no chance.
- chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -10/+8No one's targeting Kucinich because his more radical leftwing ideas are far more less harmful than Paul's.
I wasn't fond of him in the last election but I guess Paul made him look harmless in comparison. - theblueprint, on 01/18/2008, -9/+8No one is targeting Kucinich for the following reasons:
His supporters haven't spammed every available whitespace on the web.
His supporters don't attack anyone who dissents or doesn't like their candidate.
His supporters aren't self-righteous assholes who attempted to subvert Digg.
If supporters of my candidate were to engage in the bad behavior that Paulestinians do, I would bury them just as mercilessly.
- chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -10/+8No one's targeting Kucinich because his more radical leftwing ideas are far more less harmful than Paul's.
- onetimer, on 01/17/2008, -14/+10More like no ones targeting kucinich because his supports just aren't quite as bad as the paultards.
Well, at least none of the kucinich supports were screaming about you being "anti-freedom" if you opposed him, and how he was going to "sweep the election and kick the neocons out of washington"- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -7/+8You'd have to go to DemocraticUnderground.com for those crazies -- and they get shot down there. At least that's how it was in 2004.
- card51short, on 01/17/2008, -6/+12exactly...there's no one targeting Kucinich because he has no chance.
- KMye, on 01/18/2008, -5/+4Digg has been going downhill since about 2 months before you joined, in March, when the first great wave of Paulnuts invaded.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -20/+12Yeah! All those stories about Kucinich not allowed in the debate never frontpaged!

- WaterDragon, on 01/18/2008, -2/+9I spend a lot more time on Reddit these days than on Digg.
So, I get many of the best Digg news stories just a little bit sooner.
Digg has sold out to the corporate money-pigs, and is getting more like FOX news every day!
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -24/+28I highly encourage all Paul supporters to leave Digg and go to Reddit.

You're supporting the intentional submission of dupe/inaccurate stories to promote your agenda. People who are *actual* members of the community don't like this *****, and are taking it out on all Paul submissions. (I don't support nor engage in blind digging/burying, but it's happening).

THE NAZIS GAVE SOME PRISONERS BREAD, BREAD HAS HARMFUL EFFECTS IF YOU EAT TOO MUCH OF IT.
BREAD IS A NAZI TORTURE DEVICE
God, if you sheeple only knew what SALT was linked to, whoo-boy! Every serial killer in existence imbibed sodium chloride the day before he went to kill. - card51short, on 01/17/2008, -5/+8"Your obviously an idiot. He just wanted their skulls which adorned his desk to have that extra white glow.
Why are you guys debating with chaosium and imperium? If they want that healthy white glow...let them have it! Obviously, we just don't care too much about our oral health.
I say chaosium should enjoy a nice tasty glass of tap water right now for us all!
Go for it chaosium, take care of those choppers!!! - chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -11/+13"He just wanted their skulls which adorned his desk to have that extra white glow."
Fluoride isn't imbibed or topically applied for color, it's used for bone strength.

It's possible to have healthy teeth without fluoride, but if you start off like that from childhood, it's much more difficult to maintain a healthy set of choppers. Do whatever you want to yourselves, but science doesn't back any health risk in the normal amount of fluoride to be added to the public water system and in toothpaste. You shouldn't eat the tube, and I'm sure overfluoridation should be vigilantly watched out for as with any problem with the public water supply, many of the chemicals involved in maintaining public utilities could cause issues if unchecked. - imperium2000, on 01/17/2008, -6/+9@card:
Do not redirect the topic. Answer my question. What is the significance of the Nazis fluoridating the water? I'm assuming you have ZERO evidence to support any ***** claims. - BrapAllgood, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4"Fluoride isn't imbibed or topically applied for color, it's used for bone strength."
*****. Science says otherwise. The 'benefits' of sodium fluoride as a bone strengthener are complete *****. To 'strengthen bones' with it, you must soak them in it. Momentary topical application does nothing for the bones whatsoever...but then you swallow. Sodium fluroide causes a slow chemical lobotomy, making those that ingest it much more susceptible to persuasion.
http://www.fluoridealert.org/
You can sit there and say it sounds crazy all day but there *is* hard science behind the threats imposed by sodium fluoride. Go enjoy your 8 glasses of tap water a day, but MY water comes from a pure source.

- DoktorJeep, on 01/17/2008, -17/+75If the neocon trolls could be found out perhaps they can be put on trial someday after the revolution.
In Germany they only got it half right at Nuremburg by trying only the leaders. They didn't round up all those Germans who supported Hitler directly, reported neigbors to the Gestapo, censored newspapers, helped destroy the cafe culture, kept foreign slave workers in the factories and farmsm and were complicit in other levels of the crime.
Censoring free speech, hijacking political processes, and facilitating a warlike police state are offenses worthy of judicial review even for those who never wore a uniform, got paid for it, or "followed zee orders".
It may seem radical but there are people on FR who imply that RP supporters should be rounded up. I found this in the upcoming stories section, so I don't know what they're talking about with the UPDATE at the top of the article.
Maybe people who use digg for non-political reasons just got sick of the constant Ron Paul spam articles and their cult-like idiot followers. Maybe there are just more supporters of other candidates and they're burying the Paul stories. I don't live in the states, and I don't know anything about Ron Paul and I'm still sick of the guy. I guess it's all about perspective...- chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -6/+9"you have no problem with MSM shoving Romney, Rudy, Hillary and Obama up your ass 24-7"
Who said we're comparing digg to network television?- ZZeke, on 01/18/2008, -4/+4Since when does MSM mean only network television?
Here's a tip: MSM = Main Stream Media
TV, Newspapers, Radio, and yes - the Internet, ALL carry the same mainstream messages. The trouble with digg (in my opinion) is that if it's not from mainstream source, or carrying a mainstream message, it gets buried regardless of the digg count. That's what the article is about.
Personally, I think digg and it's front page are irrelevant anyway - one look at my profile will show you that I comment alot more than I digg. I don't care what this article says about digg being a major source of info like drudge. I've said it before and I'll say it again - when was the last time you heard a news report that says "this just in from the front page of digg...."? The answer is never, and you never will - because digg is not a news source, it's a dumping ground for everything and anything on the internet. It's nice to see a story you're interested in or a point of view you share on the front page, but all that means is that other diggers like it, too - yippee!
My point was obvious, Chaos - you can't turn on the toob, the radio, or open a newspaper without having Hillary or Obama shoved down your throat, but this diggtard - who doesn't even live here or know who Paul is - is "sick of the guy", yet no matter where he lives I'm sure he's been inundated with news about HIllary, etc - and he's got no problem with that. You're smart enough to figure that out, even if you didn't realize that MSM isn't just network TV....so can it, and come back when you have a valid point to make.- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -4/+8Talk Radio, Fox News, and a great deal of the more popular news sites and blogs out there are not considered the "mainstream media". Mainstream = NBC, CBS, ABC, NY Times, Washington Post, etc.
Your favorite sources of information are what one may call "conspiracy media". Do you honestly believe what you hear on Coast to Coast AM or read at Prisonplanet and not believe anything that you see/hear/read from the left-leaning MSM, the right-leaning talk radio and Fox News, or from the left and right wing blogs on the Internet? - ZZeke, on 01/19/2008, -1/+1"left-leaning MSM" - LOL!!!
yeah, msm was really left-leaning when it helped Bush start his illegal war by supporting the false WMD myth...
You're on crack if you don't think that FOX is considered mainstream - just because everyone knows they're full of ***** and dole out deliberate misinformation on a daily basis doesn't mean it's not "mainstream".
I guess you have your own idea of what MSM is, Joe - not that that surprises me. So let me get this straight - only the "left-leaning" media is mainstream, in your opinion? As far as most people are concerned, if you can watch it on TV, read it in any big regional newspaper, hear it on corporate radio (yes, that includes your boy Limbaugh), or pick it up on the major blogs/news sites - it's mainstream!
I know you think that I'm some kind of non-thinking Jones convert, spending all of my time reading "conspiracy" pieces and listening to coast to coast (which I've never listened to) - but I've got news for you, my friend - I'm usually well aware of important news and opinion from all sources, I just prefer to form my own opinions by taking in as much as I can and sorting it out for myself. I don't take Jones' word over anyone else's, but I do appreciate his insight. There's been many times when I disagree with the over-the-top spin on infowars, I've made that clear here on digg more then once...
You should really stop trying to force the whole world into such a simplistic black/white picture, man - I see mostly gray, with a little black and white at the edges. I have never completely discounted any source - except FOX news, because the propaganda is so blatant and the "news" is so dumbed-down it's pathetic - and even they don't get it 100% wrong all the time...
You see, I'm the kind of guy who clearly sees the RIGHT-wing bias in most mainstream media, almost always towing the line for the government...just because a network or paper might report on how poorly this administration has handled everything doesn't make it "left-leaning" - the same outlets which report negatively on Bush, Cheney, etc., reported negatively on the Clinton administration as well when it was in order. You can't just throw a blanket over every source that disses your fuhrer and call it "left-leaning" because you don't agree with it. Some truths are undeniable, like the fact that Bush is the least popular president of all time - worldwide. Reporting on that doesn't make you a lefty - it makes you a realist, and it means you're reporting a known truth, not spreading "liberal" bias. When the msm ganged up on Clinton for the cigar affair - did that make them "right-leaning"? No, it didn't. They were just reporting the facts, even though many felt that the issue was moot to begin with and inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. It's all about your personal perspective, I suppose - but that doesn't necessarily justify putting the whole world into neat little categories which fit only your views - no matter which "side" of the spectrum you hail from.
- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -4/+8Talk Radio, Fox News, and a great deal of the more popular news sites and blogs out there are not considered the "mainstream media". Mainstream = NBC, CBS, ABC, NY Times, Washington Post, etc.

I know! I hate having to wade endlessly through iPhone and Britney news when I really just want to discuss politics.
There should be some way to only view articles you are interested in instead of being forced to click on, read and comment on random articles.
There should be some criteria where people can post to specific categories that the article fits into.
There should be some kind of filter and search engine, too.
Bottom line is we should stop being force fed all this nonsense we don't care about. I know it takes a good 3 hours of my morning away just clicking on all those iPhone articles and then selecting BURIED before I can get to my Ron Paul news.
Oh well, until Digg finds out some kind of way to sort articles into sections and sub-sections, we are stuck with this murky layout where you are forced to read and comment on random articles you may not care about.

A few of Karl Marx's (aka. Karl Levy's) "Self-hating?" Anti-semitic comments (1843)...
"Money is the jealous god of Israel." Marx
"What, in itself, was the basis of the Jewish religion? Practical need, egoism." Marx
"The bill of exchange is the real god of the Jew." Marx
"Once society has succeeded in abolishing the empirical essence of
Judaism -- huckstering and its preconditions -- the Jew will have become
impossible, because his consciousness no longer has an object, because
the subjective basis of Judaism, practical need, has been humanized, and
because the conflict between man's individual-sensuous existence and his
species-existence has been abolished." Marx

- jasonacoker, on 01/17/2008, -10/+51There's a major shift in American politics coming down the pike. With polls in recent years showing that younger Americans were increasingly socially liberal, the Democratic party thought it was poised to take over. - card51short, on 01/18/2008, -3/+4are you implying that the older you get the more likely you are to want to bomb third world countries to oblivion?
That is simply not true. Look at Ron Paul! - chaosium, on 01/18/2008, -4/+2I don't know, RP helped cement that I couldn't be a social liberal and at the same time a pure "fiscal conservative".

- bingobongony, on 01/18/2008, -6/+3And that is why Ron Paul is getting 6% of the votes? And not even winning the 18-25 demographic?
- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -23/+13And then they grow up
- darthchaosrspw, on 01/17/2008, -9/+46I guess next is for Digg to take a cue from FreeRepublic, which is to reject all Infowars and Prison Planet articles during the submission process. - Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -6/+10It could be quite simple if you spoke English, I deciphered you post and can i suggest that you may have meant 'site' not 'sight'. If this is not the case forgive me, you must really not like the web design or somehow find it 'kooky'.
- artemus, on 01/17/2008, -1/+6Wow, so being a news aggragator, and writing original commentaries based on those articles qualifies it as a kook site? What are you smoking? Because I'd like to have some too.

- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -25/+12yep, hence the spam/duplicate story
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -9/+171 bury shouldn't bury an article, full stop.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -10/+15Prove that it was one bury.
Do an actual investigation instead of this *****. Watch many stories, collect lots of data, and do an actual analysis. Ask Digg to open up bury data to you. Find out how accurate DiggSpy actually is. Do research. You know, actual ***** journalism.
This article is just wasting everyone's time. - chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -7/+12Feel free to actually contact Digg on the matter rather than flipping out.
That sort of story wouldn't make Prisonplanet, though. - vault, on 01/17/2008, -2/+12The guy admits that it only catches 10% of buries http://mashable.com/2008/01/15/diggs-top-buried-st ...

- THEROC, on 01/17/2008, -8/+505% of all stories ever submitted are buried.
95% of all Ron Paul stories ever submitted are buried.- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -25/+17Because 95% more stories are submitted on Paul than other candidates probably :)
- THEROC, on 01/17/2008, -10/+20Logic is not your strenght.
- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -15/+12Wit and common sense are not yours
- chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -15/+12And yet he is correct and you are wrong, funny how that works!
- artemus, on 01/17/2008, -1/+5And yet neither you nor goat roper are right, or even logical! Funny how that works!
- snowball69, on 01/18/2008, -2/+2... and keyboard skills aren't yours (or mine for that matter lol) but a short and provocative statement like that might, at least, have merited a smellcheck
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -7/+9It's a racist name/nic you have there, you know i guess that you call kids kids because of isreali hate for any non jew? and i guess the 'roper' is to try to say somthing too.
- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -9/+11What in the hell are you talking about? Do you even have any idea where that term comes from in America? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=goa ...
Wow, and I thought I had heard every spin of that nickname, lol- jcm267, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4I didn't know what GoatRoper meant.
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -4/+4Thanks.
- card51short, on 01/17/2008, -5/+7Ahhh so goat roper is a hick with no brain.
I see now. - chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -4/+5"It's a racist name/nic you have there, you know i guess that you call kids kids because of isreali hate for any non jew? and i guess the 'roper' is to try to say somthing too."

- THEROC, on 01/17/2008, -10/+20Logic is not your strenght.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 01/17/2008, -21/+13That still leaves way too many pRon Paul stories.
- snowball69, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2How many Ron Paul stories are "enough" in your humble opinion?
- RonLawl, on 01/18/2008, -1/+8You ever notice how if you try to search for the James Kirchick piece on Digg, you can't find it? He's been featured on most of the major news shows, and it's even forced Ron Paul to appear on CNN to defend himself. Oddly enough, you'll find dozen of digg articles attempting to refute Kirchick (usually either with an ad hom attack on Kirchick, or a simple "Ron Paul says he isn't a racist and I believe him"), but no link to the original article itself. So why is that? Well, obviously, because Digg has a huge bias against Paul.
- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -25/+17Because 95% more stories are submitted on Paul than other candidates probably :)
- markvand, on 01/17/2008, -11/+38Hahahahaha I knew this day would come. Digg has been caught with the pants down. I'm going to send an email asking why one bury can cause an article to become buried.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -12/+14Prepare to be laughed at and your email passed around the Digg offices as a joke.
If you get a response, it'll be something like "We do not expose buries to tracking services, so there is no way to accurately track them."- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -9/+11You would know.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -9/+14Anyone that's used Digg and paid attention for a year knows. There was a big story about "BURIES EXPOSED" or something like that, and it started out as a big scandal. Then Digg responded with almost exaclty what I put there.
It's not that hard.- FyreGoddess, on 01/17/2008, -8/+13It's the "...and paid attention" part that gets them.
Every damn time. - Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -7/+4what i can say is you are lying when you say "Anyone" otherwise you wouldn't need to reply.
- Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -7/+13Exactly, and Jockdoe's response is a perfect proof.
- Herkimer56, on 01/17/2008, -7/+11Jock, after all this time you still suck at this. Pitiful.

- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -17/+12lol, what planet are you on?
- Jockdoe, on 01/17/2008, -7/+10The same one your on, but if he were from any other planet it stands to reason that he would be more intelligent.

- MacBigot, on 01/17/2008, -11/+43Wake up, Digg. Our Founding Fathers warned us about democracies (like Digg) long ago:
"[D]emocracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." - James Madison
"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide." - John Adams
"A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction. These will produce an eruption and carry desolation in their way.... The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness [excessive license] which the ambitious call, and ignorant believe to be liberty." - Fisher Ames, Author of the House Language for the First Amendment
"We have seen the tumult of democracy terminate . . . as [it has] everywhere terminated, in despotism. . . . Democracy! savage and wild. Thou who wouldst bring down the virtuous and wise to thy level of folly and guilt." - Gouverneur Morris, Signer and Penman of the Constitution
"[T]he experience of all former ages had shown that of all human governments, democracy was the most unstable, fluctuating and short-lived." - John Quincy Adams
"A simple democracy . . . is one of the greatest of evils." - Benjamin Rush, Signer of the Declaration
"In democracy . . . there are commonly tumults and disorders. . . . Therefore a pure democracy is generally a very bad government. It is often the most tyrannical government on earth." - Noah Webster
"Pure democracy cannot subsist long nor be carried far into the departments of state, it is very subject to caprice and the madness of popular rage." - John Witherspoon, Signer of the Declaration
"It may generally be remarked that the more a government resembles a pure democracy the more they abound with disorder and confusion." - Zephaniah Swift, Author of America's First Legal Text- chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -18/+8"MacBigot is a nerdy nerdenstein" Me, Digg.
- GoatRoper, on 01/17/2008, -18/+11"Is Wayne Brady going to have to choke a bitch?" - Wayne Brady

- bsegovia, on 01/17/2008, -26/+9"mere tool of the political establishment." I think that's going a bit far. Jeez, calm down people you sound like wide-eyed craze-mongers. I've gotten plenty of Ron Paul news through digg. Don't know what you're talking about.
- BurningFIREs, on 01/17/2008, -9/+9Hey MAN Digg is GOING DOWN THE TUBES !! GET USED TO IT !! Stop censoring these stories or we will all work day and night to make sure DIGG goes out of business !!
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/17/2008, -11/+11Wow, really? You have the power to bring digg down? Is this your 3 step plan?
1. Whine
2.?????
3. No more digg! - Hortnon, on 01/17/2008, -12/+11Digg going out of business...hahaha that's funny.
- onetimer, on 01/17/2008, -9/+12Digg will outlast your psuedo-ron-paul-cult movement, and will be in much better shape after you people slowly fade away into obscurity.
- chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -5/+13"we will all work day and night to make sure DIGG goes out of business"
No you won't. You can't even get many Paul articles to the frontpage anymore, there's no way you can cause any actual damage to the site, no matter how many Prisonplanet threads you have on how to "game" digg. You have no power on or off the internet.
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/17/2008, -11/+11Wow, really? You have the power to bring digg down? Is this your 3 step plan?

- AAjax, on 01/17/2008, -6/+35this will never see the front page. Perhaps we should take the "***** You Frank" mantra and apply it to Kevin?
- chaosium, on 01/17/2008, -23/+14Go ahead, it'll have the same exact effect.
It's not Frank's fault that your candidate is a complete flop, and it's not Kevin's fault that your candidate and his backers are unlikeable.- AAjax, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5But it is franks fault that he has used his life to manipulate the perception of others, as it may well be Kevins

- KathySmith, on 01/17/2008, -9/+20That is covert. Thanks for posting. It is to the advantage of the sight owner to maintain a sense of integrity and be unbiased on their power of clicks. Thank goodness for Technocrati and myspace.
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/17/2008, -18/+12You spelled site wrong. Thank goodness for myspace? When you get out of middle/high school and look back you'll realize just how foolish that sounds. Learn how digg operates instead of giving into the RP mob mentality of "Everyone is out to get us! They hate freedom!" It only reinforces the unbalanced perception everyone has of you.
- BenMuldowney74, on 01/17/2008, -8/+12digg is a neocon site.... end of story.

- TheLittleVoice, on 01/17/2008, -4/+37I had the story about Bush possibly involved in some cult murders, matching bite marks, cover up, etc. -- disappear after reading the story and clicking to view the comments. DIGG IS RIGGED!
