- EnviroChem, on 05/22/2009, -1/+51That was a really interesting article. The more I read, the more it seems that personality wise, Hillary is very much like Bush. She has an "your with me or against me" attitude, believes her way is the only way and will try to destroy anyone who stands in her way. Just look at her comments about economists being elitist when she couldn't name one economist who supported her gas tax holiday. We've had eight years of this kind of leadership under Bush and look where it got us.
- LKnight, on 05/10/2008, -2/+50"I respect Hillary supporters because they haven't had the chance to get to know her like I have." U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper, D-TN. "Democrats would be crazy to throw this away. There's like a million new voters registered in North Carolina and Indiana. Nobody else has been able to do that. The Clintons had eight years. You don't get a do-over in American politics. They had eight good years. Now it's time to turn the page. We need to change."
The Clinton campaign, meanwhile, declined to respond to Cooper's remarks. - bklynsam, on 05/10/2008, -0/+26More about Clinton fighting Cooper on health care back then...
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/05/opinion/05brooks ... - CanIGetAWitness, on 05/10/2008, -3/+23If Hillary developed a National Health Care plan as president, you can bet that it will greatly benefit BIG Pharma to the detriment of the population.
- jaymzdean, on 05/10/2008, -5/+28I've been saying for the last 7 years, Hillary reminds me of Bush with a vagina.
- kanvas, on 05/10/2008, -1/+14Absolutely correct.
Issue positions are important, but a good style and approach to the job are absolutely vital for people who MUST build consensus to get things done (politicians). If you take things personally and hold grudges, if you have no tolerance for opinions different from your own, you'll get nowhere (see: Bush). If nothing else, at least Barack understands what it takes to succeed in policymaking -- a skill that all of Hillary's experience has not taught her. - pidge, on 05/10/2008, -1/+11I'm glad more and more American's are waking up to the real Hillary. I think she is smart. She is probably a great mom. I just think she represents exactly what is wrong with government today. I did not like Bill Clinton as President (was too young to vote back then). I did not vote for Bush either times. I want a President I can respect and trust.
- CanIGetAWitness, on 05/11/2008, -0/+9Hey Numbnuts,
I'm not Obama obsessed, research and get your own facts straight. I said BIG Pharma, nothing about "insurance". Where did I make a comment in support of Obama's health care? I don't give a ***** who Elizabeth supports.
Sincerely,
People Who Think - RebeL5K, on 05/11/2008, -0/+7It wasn't "passed over". She threatened to "cut his legs off (politically)" and when he decided to run for Senate in 1994, she used federal government resources to establish a "War Room" with the sole mission of seeing him fail at his senatorial bid. If you noticed, they are still referring to him as "Rep", not "Senator", so yeah, I would hold a grudge too.
- spurtle, on 05/10/2008, -0/+6"We would be," not "We are."
- motivatedmama, on 05/11/2008, -0/+6Obama was for single payer health care before now. We'll just wait and see who cuts out the insurance companies. And ***** Hillary's "forced" health care. It's "universal" because she will mandate it and fine those who don't pay. Now who does that benefit I wonder?
- davidlow, on 05/10/2008, -0/+6You mean she reminds you of Bush with bush?
- Nexnecis, on 05/11/2008, -0/+6http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ... is probably the best known example.
- Jexie, on 05/10/2008, -1/+6Its how digg works, and you chose to participate in it. There is no censorship.
- cquinnd, on 05/10/2008, -0/+5She is gaining supporters in the primaries from the Republican base because pundits like Limbaugh are frothing at the mouth in the hopes of slandering her during the general election without making an effort.
GOP disklike of anything Clinton still runs strong in the ranks. With Obama they would actually have to work harder to dig up dirt and try to make McCain (who is also not popular with a significant part of the GOP) out to be the better candidate. - EnviroChem, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4That NY Times opinion piece was really good. I always enjoy watching David Brooks commentary and analysis on the PBS News Hour. He's a pretty sharp cookie.
- RebeL5K, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4Um, you must be one of them "blue collar white voters" Hillary is so fond of. In the quote, "...Well, today WE'D be celebrating the 10th anniversary...". The "WE'D" is a contraction for 'we would' (be); in other words, she shot down his plan because it would have taken 5 years (until 1998) to cover all Americans and so today every American would be insured for 10 years. Instead, since she "passed it over", even fewer people have insurance than had it then because her plan failed.
- Razormane11, on 05/10/2008, -0/+4I think you need to read it over one more time. Your sentence doesn't jive with the article or the quote.
- kreneskyp, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4this is what i expect from hillary. she shoots down a competing plan just so hers is the one that helps people. she had to be the important person saving the day. Its pretty clear who she cares about more, herself. If she really wanted to help the people she would pick the plan most likely to get approved and still meet the goal. she was just using the issue to make a name for herself
- dagamer34, on 05/10/2008, -0/+5Gore is at his best when he isn't in politics.
- oldgal, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3and, like Bush, she never makes mistakes.
- thall, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Fastest CTRL-C/V in the West.
- nightchaser, on 05/10/2008, -6/+10Hillary's big mistake, was not running as a Republican. If she had, she would be the Republican nominee right now, instead of McCain. As it is, most of her supporters are more Republican than Democrat. Most of them say they will vote Republican if she is not the Democrat nominee.
- thall, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Just think, if you were a superdelegate you could superexplode!
- NelsonR, on 05/10/2008, -1/+4You bet it's time to turn a page for America. The Clinton's and Bush's are best left to the corrupt entities they are for posterity. American has been spiraling down, it's time to reverse course. At least with Obama, just maybe. McCain the warmongering flip flopper who now adores the tax cuts he once was against, BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, he is passe.
- queotic, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3A "grudge"? If someone set up to destroy your career, wouldn't you justifiably be upset? And why do you assume that he is supporting Barack because of a "grudge?" Isn't it more likely that he supports Obama because their health care plans are similar?
- oldgal, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3“Hillary’s approach is so absolutist, draconian and intolerant, it means a replay of 1993.” I fear it might be a continuance of 2000-2008, with different policy stands, but still nothing getting done.
- xtinamo, on 05/10/2008, -2/+5Taking into account Bill's extramarital behavior, it's probably one gross vagina.
- evilcaptain, on 05/10/2008, -4/+7I think the Democratic Primaries WERE the Presidential Election.
Al Gore for VP! - 1oneWON, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4Hillary would definitely be a big mistake. I've read countless articles about Hillary's political career and have been wanting to read a couple of books about her that I heard about. This was definitely an interesting and kind of frightening read about the political abilities of Clinton.
Luckily it's practically impossible for her to win the nomination at this point given her huge lead and the ridiculous percentage of remaining delegates she would need to secure to get the nomination. - fanclerks, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3You missed the entire point of the article. The point the Senator was attempting to make is that HRC's modus operandi is to go after anyone politically who doesn't agree with her stances. She is like Bush in the sense that she insists on following the "you're with us or you're against us" mode of logic. Do you really want someone running this country that is like that for the next 4 years? I sure as hell don't. You need to compromise and work with people in politics to get anything done.
- jmkiii, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2You REALLY like posting that!
- queotic, on 05/11/2008, -1/+3You're being dugg down because your comment is ridiculous. Reporting what a superdelegate says about their personal experience with HRC is not "hating." And no, Diggers are not "always" hating on HRC - it's just that, when you have as many scandals as the Clintons (such as the Peter Paul fraud case against them which the MSM STILL has not yet reported on), you're bound to get negative press coverage.
- Hillsfar, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2That's exactly why Big Pharma has donated so much to her campaign. Follow the money, Mike.
- JulyZerg, on 05/11/2008, -1/+3Says the one wanting to censor the Clinton-Bashing...
- KloroFormd, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2"OBAMA WILL WIN"
Quoted for truth. - motivatedmama, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Um, I think you meant to say "her huge lead balloon of a campaign" fixed!
Or maybe "his" lead. I like my version better. : ) - jplily, on 05/10/2008, -3/+4That was a really interesting article
- kylere, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1It is so obvious that only Clinton doesn't
- kescape, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1I don't want to hate anyone but a fact is a fact. Presenting a fact is not hate.
- RebeL5K, on 05/11/2008, -1/+3Wow, you completely took three different quotes from that article and merged them into one. Well done...
- Rendonsmug, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1Her lead zepplin?
- socivitus, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2An Obama/Gore presidency would be great, but I don't think he can be VP again.
- motivatedmama, on 05/11/2008, -1/+1Bush with a vagina reminds me of 70's porn.
Hillary is just as dated and cheesy, but not nearly as much fun to watch. - thall, on 05/11/2008, -1/+1Someone go tell him to invent another Internet, this one has too many bugs.
- goldragon, on 05/11/2008, -0/+0i'd just like to say Cooper is my Congresscritter and proud of him! =)
- davidlow, on 05/10/2008, -5/+2"Democrats would be crazy to throw this away. There's like a million new voters registered in North Carolina and Indiana. Nobody else has been able to do that. - YodaJones, on 05/10/2008, -9/+5Hillary likes vagina's more than Bush.
- mikestg, on 05/10/2008, -4/+0So you can point to concrete examples of this? Let's see them
