- quidpro, on 11/17/2007, -13/+362I thought this would be pokemon related...
- oceanrain, on 11/17/2007, -20/+239Clinton News Network (CNN) strikes again!
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -4/+141Although she'd only settle for diamonds after she found our about the pearl necklace Bill gave Monica Lewinski.
- tidu, on 11/17/2007, -1/+126CNN: Mr. Obama. Considering the latest happenings in the Middle East, what starting Pokemon would you choose?
Obama: I would probably go with a Squirtle, although more investigation into the topic is necessary.
Post-show: Squirtle? That response is really going to hurt his campaign. I agree, I don't think this man is fit to run the country. - theshizzler, on 11/17/2007, -0/+111Good. I was pretty upset that CNN wasted any time at all on that question. Couldn't they have asked a real question and gone over by 2 minutes? Would it really have killed them to push Anderson Cooper's "analysis" back another minute?
My wife was furious at how sexist the question was, too. Something like that has no business at a political debate. I can understand having a "fun" question once in a while, but to force one into the end of every debate is gratuitous. - Adamande, on 11/17/2007, -1/+108On one hand, I applaud Maria Luisa for exposing the questionable workings of mainstream media. On the other hand I don't understand why she would play along with them and ask that question at all. I'd honestly rather just go back to my seat than ask a presidential candidate what kind of jewelry they prefer.
- JRjJ106, on 11/17/2007, -3/+107Everyone knows that Hilary prefers blood diamonds.
- christianjb, on 11/17/2007, -3/+97She should have asked her question anyway. There's little CNN could do to stop her in a live debate.
- drlha, on 11/17/2007, -2/+82Real liberals don't support Hillary.
- icebrk, on 11/17/2007, -0/+69yeah seriously, worst case scenario: she'll get tased, this is after all still a free country
- Demortius, on 11/17/2007, -0/+65The real question is whether she prefers Red or Blue.
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -0/+61I'm curious as to why someone (any tv station) doesn't arrange for EVERY candidate to answer random questions from the audience for at least 2-3 hours (each). Screw this preapproved *****. If they want people to vote, you need to let people line up and ask serious questions and get answers. No screening, no nothing. These debates are worthless if you moderate them like this. Every single candidate should be drilled like crazy on the issues.
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -2/+58It pisses me off that people don't realize how spineless this girl is.
She's on live ***** TV. Why can't she expose them then and there, "Well, despite your camp and CNN wanting me to ask a canned question, I have one of my own.."
Then when they cut her out, IF they cut her out which is harder on live TV (and not done during improv questions), people will wonder what the ***** is going on. - wstrucke, on 11/17/2007, -3/+46i hate calling people "conservatives" or "liberals". It only adds to the "left vs right" mentality that is maintaining the status quo. The real problem is that both sides are funded by the same companies and they're all in corporate pockets. We need a major shake up or change and the only way for that to happen is for the public to wake up.
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -0/+38From the comments on the site:
Too bad they didn't have time for the Obama question -- "Watermelon or fried chicken?"
Posted by DHN
It's essentially the same question. - Frostman3D, on 11/17/2007, -5/+40Well, that's at least 2 that we know about. I'm pretty sure the majority of all questions are planted. None of these bastards will actually answer a real question except for Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.
- demonsnake69, on 11/17/2007, -0/+33Yeah I have to agree with you on the second part. She could've lied to CNN and asked her Yucca Mountain question instead. The worst case scenario would've been that CNN cut her off mid-question and that would make CNN look bad (which is always a good thing).
- ejpusa, on 11/17/2007, -11/+40Is it me, but are a lot of folks (even the Ron Paul crew?) starting to SERIOUSLY look at Kucinich? hmmmmmmmmmmmm . . .
- fatfreddyscat, on 11/17/2007, -0/+23Nope it's not just you. I'm a RP supporter and I like what D. Kucinich has to say. Out of all the candidates (to my knowledge) they are the only ones that voted against the war and the patriot act.
- thebellmaster1x, on 11/17/2007, -2/+25You know, if people stop being defeatist, we might actually get the chance to vote for Kucinich.
- chukd, on 11/17/2007, -0/+22Let them cut it then. I wouldn't look like an ass face just so I got some time on television. She should of had some damn pride.
- SayeSayno, on 11/17/2007, -0/+21"On one hand, I applaud..."
How? - cvindustries, on 11/17/2007, -0/+20Made all the better by your choice of avatar.
- drlha, on 11/17/2007, -0/+20It was a live debate wasn't it?
- iillthe2nd, on 11/17/2007, -5/+24Have they no SHAME?
- masgrada, on 11/17/2007, -19/+37Reality does have a liberal bias.
- conceptkid, on 11/17/2007, -0/+18Not only was the question planted, after Hillary answered. The girl then said "Well you are the only one shining on the stage!!" ......WTF? Talk about brainwashing.
I was seriously getting pissed off at Hillary for playing the "im the first woman to run for president, so that means I should win!" card. Its ***** annoying.
Im a Ron Paul supporter and I sure as hell look at Kucinich alot more seriously than I do Clinton or Obama. In my opinion, the democratic debates would be a hell of lot better if they took out HIllary and Obama - Haecceity, on 11/17/2007, -1/+19This was *her* question. Apparently she submitted five, including this "diamonds or pearls" one. CNN picked that one rather than her Yucca question, and now she's trying to slip free of the "frivolous" label by saying "yeah, I submitted a serious question too, but they told me they wanted me to ask another one."
- jallengarry, on 11/17/2007, -1/+18Sorry...but it's the chick's fault as far as I'm concerned.
1) She still authored the question, she could have had a better second question but she knew the frilly query gave her a better chance of getting on T.V. ("OMG....like 4 sure').
2) They told her to play robot and she did...if she's "almost" a Truman scholar...I'm not too impressed with that distinction. - lex10, on 11/17/2007, -1/+18She was probably afraid of getting tased if she changed it.
- masgrada, on 11/17/2007, -3/+20Man, good thing bush's audiences aren't stacked.
- Webler707, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16Good to see that I am not the only person to get hopes up on this one.
- dazparkour, on 11/17/2007, -0/+16No.
- XopherMV, on 11/17/2007, -0/+14Actually, that's exactly what happened with the black woman who asked the candidates about their requirements for a Supreme Court nominee. Suzanne Malveaux, the CNN reporter holding the microphone, immediately interjected with a question about abortion. What later came out was that five minutes BEFORE the abortion question was asked, CNN had updated its website to cover the candidates' answers on abortion. CNN was able to do this because CNN prescreened ALL the questions and it ALREADY knew where the candidates stood on abortion. This black woman didn't ask the question CNN expected, so Malveaux had to cover the network's ass by asking the question for her.
- inactive, on 11/17/2007, -1/+14I think Guiliani has Fox, Clinton has CNN
- tidu, on 11/17/2007, -1/+14Fox debates: Let's say a bomb was set off in Chicago, with more nuclear bombs set to be detonated. *crowd gasps* Intelligence states that it was Iran's doing. (Hypothetically) WHAT WOULD YOU DOOO? *bated breath*
no absurd questions? - dazparkour, on 11/17/2007, -2/+15If she asked the question she wanted, couldn't CNN cut it?
- vanbacon, on 11/17/2007, -3/+15Does that make bias anymore wrong.
- carpespasm, on 11/17/2007, -2/+14i do prefer kucinich, but paul is the one with the momentum, and if i can do anything to get either of them into a position to do some serious change in the country, i will. I agree with kucinich on some points i disagree with paul on, but getting either of them in the white house would be worth it.
- spankaccount, on 11/17/2007, -37/+49The conservatives have FOX and the liberals have CNN.
- carpespasm, on 11/17/2007, -1/+13it's a live debate, but they likely still run it with a 30sec tape to transmit buffer so they can bleep any cursing and cut anything they otherwise don't want and just cut to commercial or a commentator if need be.
- pintomp3, on 11/17/2007, -1/+13or his press conferences.
- theblooms, on 11/17/2007, -31/+42The conservatives have FOX , AM radio and the Wall Street Journal; liberals have CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, the NY Times, the LA Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Seattle P-I, the SF Chronicle, the Balto. Sun, the Wash. Post, the Boston Globe...
- appetite, on 11/17/2007, -0/+11Correction:
Money has Fox and Money has CNN.
Conservatives have church and liberals have Digg. - pwnies, on 11/17/2007, -0/+11Should have chosen mudkip. Every campaign needs moar mudkips.
- kinerry, on 11/17/2007, -5/+16What the hell has come of our democracy?
We Paul supporters should mobilize for Kucinich, help him out - DiggLive, on 11/17/2007, -1/+12Your session has expired, please refresh the page before commenting.
- ornellasm, on 11/17/2007, -1/+11That is when you punch him in the gut first, being a "realist" is just how you cope with being a wimp
- michelspc, on 11/17/2007, -1/+11I've been getting that too
- cmorwhat, on 11/17/2007, -14/+24ok, before i say anything else, i have to proclaim that i ***** hate hillary and i know she will just contnue where W. left off. that being said i have a few comments on this story. First off, when is MYSPACE a reliable source for national news? and second, why didnt she have some character and either decline the offer to ask hillary something, OR (this is what i would have done) said yes to CNN and just ask the question when you get the mic?
