- DenaL, on 06/10/2008, -10/+174Good for Kucinich for having the courage to start the impeachment process. This is long overdue. I certainly hope that Cheney is included in all this. Too early for a complete transcript. Bush has to be stopped before he signs away the lives of Americans in a long-term agreement regarding the middle East and starts a war with Iran. He is going to get the US blown up. Cheney is the "brains" behind all this and should be impeached as well.
- TruthReason, on 06/10/2008, -7/+151The 35 articles summing up 35 independent occurences of impeachable acts will make any citizen, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation scathingly mad. The current corporatist system with it's spheres of power interests marianeting our political system, is the only reason these crimes were allowed to proceed. Get the corporate conglomerate money out of Washington. Prosecute the current administration for treason and undo the restructuring of government checks and balances ammended by them.
Thank You Representative Kucinich for having character in tandem with a spine.
Truth and Justice - without of which, no democracy can survive. - Tess101, on 06/10/2008, -7/+107It's about time someone with integrity stood up to this DECIDER/TYRANT, thank you Mr. Kucinich.
- harbinger08, on 06/10/2008, -7/+105Watch how the news media fails to cover this story if you still need convincing that the game is utterly rigged. A groundswell of public pressure may send the rats scurrying for cover, though. I wouldn't hold my breath, not enough Americans give a crap about anything important, not even the destruction of their livelihoods, their freedoms, their children's futures, half a million dead Iraqis, whatEVAH. We are just now entering a period of great hardship and suffering and I'm afraid that collectively speaking we've earned every minute of it.
God bless Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, and the few other "crackpots" willing to point the finger at the problem. Good men, all. - ddhooper, on 06/10/2008, -9/+63What frightens me almost as much as the prospect of Congress failing to act upon this resolution is the likelihood that our nation's supposedly "liberal" mainstream corporate media organizations will ignore Kucinich's resolution entirely, thus preventing the American public from engaging in a necessary consideration of and debate about the merits of the case for impeachment.
As Thomas Jefferson said, "Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government; whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights."
If an impeachment resolution falls on the floor of the House of Representatives, and nobody gets to hear about it, all it does is annoys.... - silkyangela, on 06/10/2008, -6/+50May truth, liberty, and justice prevail!
- edwartica, on 06/10/2008, -7/+45Kucinich is the reason I registered as a deomcrat. Barak would be wise to have him on his staff.

- EvansHall, on 06/10/2008, -7/+31I wish Kucinich was the democratic nominee.
- spratt0928, on 06/10/2008, -3/+24Didn't see anything about this on CNN.
- IPublius, on 06/10/2008, -6/+26You know what would have been the greatest Presidential debate match? Dennis Kucinich vs. Ron Paul. Both true believers on their respective sides (and neither on the side of the Republicans at that). I would have loved to have seen that.
- Zarokima, on 06/10/2008, -3/+22No, we will just have to add "rigging a trial" to the list.
- Zarokima, on 06/10/2008, -1/+18Clinton got a blowjob. I'm pretty sure this is quite a bit worse.
- writerboyVSgod, on 06/11/2008, -2/+18Wow. It is really scaring me that one the homepages of every major US news site there is nothing. CNN, FoxNews, NBC, CBS....
- geometry, on 06/10/2008, -0/+17Has OJ been forgiven?
We all know that money can buy innocence, but it can't buy forgiveness. - mlrigsby, on 06/10/2008, -8/+22It's amazing sometimes how much courage it takes to simply state the obvious.
Thank you Mr. Kucinich! - Daggity, on 06/10/2008, -0/+14Kucinich already tried to impeach Cheney, actually.
- diggjcarp, on 06/10/2008, -6/+20We need more democrats like Mr. Kucinich. There has to be accountability. Bush and Co do not deserve a "graceful" exit as they slither off the world stage after their grotesque rampage.

- Zarokima, on 06/10/2008, -1/+13Since when do prisoners get internet access?
- shadowofapuddle, on 06/10/2008, -4/+15This is good that the impeachment legislation was made on the record before Bush's term ends, mostly for the history record.
When historians are trying to sort out this whole 9/11 and Iraq mess 50 or 100 years from now, it's good that the allegations against Bush and company are succinctly laid out in a nice, coherent form written by Kucinich.
Whenever they lookup Bush, they will have the articles of impeachment against him, whether it succeeds or not. - fjklein6501, on 06/10/2008, -8/+19Inspirational and ecnouraging. Maybe there is still hope.
- laserdog, on 06/10/2008, -1/+11Makes sense, I suppose being metaphorically taken up the ass can't hold a candle to the genuine article.
- Shanich, on 06/11/2008, -2/+11Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
This statement was used as a motto on the title page of An Historical Review of the Constitution and Government of Pennsylvania. (1759) which was attributed to Franklin in the edition of 1812, but in a letter of September 27, 1760 to David Hume, he states that he published this book and denies that he wrote it, other than a few remarks that were credited to the Pennsylvania Assembly, in which he served. The phrase itself was first used in a letter from that Assembly dated November 11, 1755 to the Governor of Pennsylvania. An article on the origins of this statement here includes a scan that indicates the original typography of the 1759 document, which uses an archaic form of "s": "Thoſe who would give up Essential Liberty to purchaſe a little Temporary Safety, deſerve neither Liberty nor Safety." Researchers now believe that a fellow diplomat by the name of Richard Jackson is the primary author of the book. With the information thus far available the issue of authorship of the statement is not yet definitely resolved, but the evidence indicates it was very likely Franklin, who in the Poor Richard's Almanack of 1738 is known to have written a similar proverb: "Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power." - Loonacy, on 06/11/2008, -0/+8I don't care whether they have merit or not, a member of Congress submitting articles of impeachment against a sitting president is newsworthy, period. Go to some mainstream news sites and search for "impeachment" or "Kucinich".

That last one surprised me, but why do the other two have absolutely nothing on this incredible event? - h4mx0r, on 06/10/2008, -0/+9Ok.
- KMartSheriff, on 06/11/2008, -1/+9Oh, well then it must not be important. *rolls eyes*
- williamlee, on 06/10/2008, -1/+9Not much of a citizen. You have no rights.
- minnymoo, on 06/10/2008, -0/+8nice, what's in the "Arrrrrr!" folder? =)
- EvansHall, on 06/10/2008, -2/+10Wow. I just looked at your profile, and you seem like a nincompoop. All your comments are flame bait, and one of your favorite digg articles it about hooking up with your cousin. Hmm ...
- zobs, on 06/11/2008, -1/+8One huge problem is Nancy P. I can only think that she is sleeping with everyong in Bush admin or you can not figure why she is doing what she is doing....
- cherwilco, on 06/10/2008, -3/+10shocking! you mean felons serving life don't care whats going on in the country!! WOW
- macfan93, on 06/11/2008, -2/+8I can't find this story on any major news outlet. This is unsettling. They would rather focus on Obama's fist pump than the impeachment of our president?
- BlacklabelSAR, on 06/11/2008, -2/+8If the Bush Admin is allowed to get away with their crimes, then people will rightly feel that they cannot make changes within their system of government. That the rich and powerful just get away with anything and will never be punished. What the hell do you think will come of that?
- doomcomplex, on 06/11/2008, -0/+6How about solving the problem of our president is a liar and a criminal?
- Pixelpaws, on 06/11/2008, -0/+6They will make any citizen who hears about them mad. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a single major US media outlet that's running the story. This is huge news, even if it's not going to go anywhere. Why hasn't anybody picked up the news?
- arcooke, on 06/10/2008, -4/+9Look what popped up just as I was checking out this article...

You've got mail. - swrostmore, on 06/10/2008, -3/+8Washington Post has it, as well as Reuters News Agency. It's not much of a story unless congress votes to begin proceedings. More of a historical footnote, which I might add is completely necessary. An asterisk next to Bush's legacy.
- inactive, on 06/10/2008, -1/+6It is a book.
http://www.amazon.com/Rabid-Nun-Infects-Entire-Con ... - gracie28, on 06/11/2008, -2/+7Dennis Kucinich is an American Hero. The man has guts. May his tribe increase.
- inactive, on 06/11/2008, -1/+6Make an example out of Bush. If Bill can't get away with a BJ, Bush shouldn't get away with murder, treason, terrorism.
- shagen454, on 06/11/2008, -0/+5Kucinich has accomplished more than Obama; in his hometown as mayor sticking up for the working man and making sure jobs weren't outsourced by huge corporations. Oh, but you must be some rich ***** republican that disagrees with the fight against corporate elitist corruption. Living in that clone world of yours that everyone needs to fit into.
He accomplished a lot on the floor of the house of reps and congress... He's done more good than most politicians. The brainwashed will just never understand. - alvarezg, on 06/10/2008, -6/+11Without consequences, what's to keep the same or worse from happening again? We have a system of due process, and the guy and his puppet masters must be held accountable for what he did or didnt do. That is far more than all the people arrested without cause and denied habeas corpus have received.
