- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -8/+106Just another case of the media trying to decide for us. I guess if anyone still subscribes to that rag they already know what's up.
I hope Dennis has a rally outside the debate forum. - shadash, on 12/13/2007, -21/+103I'm for Ron Paul but this is *****
- diggerydood, on 12/13/2007, -6/+80The following contact info and phone number was posted at Buzzflash: "Call the Des Moines Register. Outside Iowa:800-247-5346. Inside Iowa:800-532-1455. Ask for the Newsroom. I complained to the woman who answered the phone. She said they have already received hundreds of calls. It was the decision of the editor and publisher of the Des Moines Register to exclude Dennis. Reach the editor at cwashburn@dmreg.com. Her name is Carolyn Washburn."
- tedonion, on 12/13/2007, -4/+69The debate will sure be less interesting without Kucinich present.
- beejive, on 12/13/2007, -9/+69When Ron Paul gets excluded - its red alert. Kucinich is getting excluded for the same reasons - media bias- and we should be just as appalled (no pun intended). Internet user's support for equal access in the political process shouldn't be attached to just one candidate. I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but the Media has it easy if they can shut out one candidate and thereby silence the issue of exclusion. We need to support anyone who gets shutout - democrat or republican!
- daoism, on 12/13/2007, -3/+46That's really too bad that's he's unfairly excluded (I mean WHO CARES if he has a guy working out of a home office) Kucinich offers a thought provoking perspective to the debates which is not contrived or catered to the media. His opinions matter because it offers diversity. I think the public lose on this call.
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -1/+40thanks diggerydood, this Paulite has now sent Ms. Washburn an email.
- darkciti2, on 12/13/2007, -3/+38What the ***** is happening to our COUNTRY!?! The country where people repeatedly gave their lives JUST TRYING to keep Old Glory flying high...
- Fabc001, on 12/13/2007, -3/+36Too right, if Kucinich supporters don't swamp that Old media rag and cause a ruckus than he is finished.
- Community1, on 12/13/2007, -3/+34Call the Des Moines Register at 1-800-247-5346 and protest their private decision to censor a public election. The Iowa Caucus has National Implications and the Des Moines Register is excluding Dennis Kucinich from the Debate based on local politics. If that infuriates you, step up and call the Des Moines Register at 1-800-247-5346.
Better yet, call their Editorial Board too:
Carol Hunter - 515-284-8502
Laura Hollingsworth - 515-284-8041
Those of you calling The Des Moines Register to prtest their censorship of Kucinich, should also email their editors at the following...
Carol Hunter - 515-284-8502
chunter@dmreg.com
Laura Hollingsworth - 515-284-8041
Lhollingsworth@dmreg.com
They were scared of having a repeat of this:

Let the Des Moines Register know at 1-800-247-5346 - proseandpromise, on 12/13/2007, -5/+34Did they really boot Dennis and let in Dodd? I forget that guy is even running in between debates. This is a real shame. I hope no one takes this debate (or really any of the debates so far) seriously.
- Dustin00, on 12/13/2007, -1/+26He wasn't given a list of requirements. They wanted to block him from the debate, they just picked this as an excuse.
If they were interested in having a good debate, they would declare their requirements and give candidates time to respond.
They're not interested in a debate. They just want to advertise the candidate they want to win. - pintomp3, on 12/13/2007, -3/+28candidate doesn't poll high because of unequal coverage, don't give candidate coverage because he isn't polling high. self-fulfilling prophecy.
- notque, on 12/13/2007, -1/+25Email sent, phone call tomorrow.
- phnx0221, on 12/13/2007, -1/+24Email sent, thank you so much for this information diggerydood!
- pintomp3, on 12/13/2007, -3/+26well, we can't have anyone who represents real change after all.
- trogle, on 12/13/2007, -3/+24Why should personal wealth be a determining factor in public debates? Frustrating at very least.
- babcat, on 12/13/2007, -3/+24I'm a Ron Paul supporter but this is absolutely crazy! Kucinich is the only "real" democrat!
- notque, on 12/13/2007, -4/+25Call, and Email. We must bomb them with complaints. I intend to call often tomorrow.
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -6/+26i wish the oligarchs would just tell us who to vote for now and lets get it over with. why the pretending? bring in al gore now and tell us how he is going to save the world. yawn... i call bull chit on all of these criminals.
- StarofTroy, on 12/13/2007, -1/+21The media is already telling us to vote for Hillary. But they're so fond of polls why don't they quote these? Scary scary stuff.
- rhedwolf, on 12/13/2007, -7/+26Except he DOES have a campaign HQ and dozens of people working for him in Iowa. The real reason he can't come is because the corporations don't *want* him to have a chance of winning.

SHAME! Drop your arbitrary criteria and include KUCINICH as well as all the presidential candidates you money hungry pigs! Yes, that includes you Des Moines Register.
- colberrep, on 12/13/2007, -0/+16Contact the Des Moines Register and urge them to include Dennis Kucinich in their debate.

- proseandpromise, on 12/13/2007, -4/+19Anderson Cooper meant to say, "because we don't give a &^%$ about anyone but Hillary" but he messed up... you know, slip of the tongue.
- wolfiemouse, on 12/13/2007, -3/+17This is so outrageous ... I am just frantic with outrage!!!
This can't be true!!! America is better than this!!!No Dennis??? Somebody needs to correct this ASAP!!!
I just wrote to CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and the Register, every blog I belong to, and to everybody else I could possibly think of.
Come on folks ... HELP!
This is outrageous!!! Dennis is a valid presidential candidate ... let all the candidates have EQUAL and fair treatment! Dennis deserves to speak!!!
LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE!
This is outrageous no matter what party you support, or what candidate!!!
http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article ... - numb, on 12/13/2007, -2/+16Right on beejive. I'm libertarian, but I appreciate the fact that Kucinich is an honest guy that supports the constitution. I truly am as "appalled" that this happened to Dennis as I would be if it happened to Paul. It's just not feasible for everyone to agree on everything, but we're all getting screwed when ***** like this happens. We need to end this despicable behavior.
- aboyd, on 12/13/2007, -1/+14Kucinich is a badass in that video. His blunt answers were great.
Wolf: "You were the only one to vote against the Patriot Act..."
Dennis: "Yeah, because I read it." - shunter99, on 12/13/2007, -1/+14Speak louder than the MSM on Dec 15.
http://www.december152007.com - AvangionQ, on 12/13/2007, -1/+14Unbelievable - they make arbitrary rules for who can and cannot debate, rules which go against polling results. Perhaps if there are enough voices of dissent, the Des Moines Register Debate may feel the pressure and revise their standing policies.
- andrgo, on 12/13/2007, -1/+14At least I can say I did my part, left a couple of 'meaningful' voicemails.
Everyone else should do the same, DO NOT let the media think they can control this election! - madroneDorf, on 12/13/2007, -3/+16Ron Paul would probably say its well within the right of private companies to set requirements for appearing appearing on their shows, and they are under no obligation to have anyone.
- Gemfinder, on 12/13/2007, -0/+12They're carrying it on CNN. There's a red flag right there. Remember how Mr. Blitzer kept snubbing and cutting Dennis off in the last Democratic Party debate? He practically had to jump on top of his podium, wave his arms and yell before anyone paid him any attention.
This is straight-up *****, coming or going. - GroundhogBoy, on 12/13/2007, -1/+12And this is what's stupid about these debates. Kucinich, who has participated in almost every debate, gets blocked out while someone like Alan Keyes gets on stage. If anyone caught the debate, he was a completely self righteous distraction. His whining about God being taken out of the educational system was pretty much where I draw the line.
- BlackStrain, on 12/13/2007, -3/+14Never underestimate the powers of a man who can marry an insanely hot 30 years younger wife. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get a FLILF
- pintomp3, on 12/13/2007, -2/+13you seem to show up whenever there is a submission about kucinich to bad mouth him. you troll and comment over and over in each thread. why are you so obsessed with him? are you that threatened by him?
- thewump, on 12/13/2007, -5/+15Sadly DK hasn't managed to get the same army behind him as RP. Nothing would please me more than a DK / RP ticket. No doubt you will have many of us RP supporters backing you up when we see DK being excluded.
- livestradamus, on 12/13/2007, -3/+13Both parties are basically the same. Vote for the person who you feel is the right one for the job, never mind what party they represent.
DK & RP are very different, but they present a threat the ruling elites within their own party.
I could really care who wins out of those 2; a change must come. - andrgo, on 12/13/2007, -1/+11The Des Moines Register has an online message board, in case anyone wasn't aware:
http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section ... - beejive, on 12/13/2007, -4/+14Exactly, but not because of their positions, but because they are treated as fringe candidates. BUT they do shape the discussion and force the major candidates to address issues they'd rather dodge. Thats obvious - and your simplistic dismissive attitude makes you look like an apathetic, status quo dick.
- siszam, on 12/13/2007, -3/+13Using "Special K" instead of correctly addressing Kucinich by his name doesn't make him look bad. It makes you look childish and desperate to get attention and to tear down someone you feel threatened by. Why do people like you feel so angry at the thought of our nation being at peace or all citizens having equal health care? How corrupt your soul must be to support a party who cheers the death of the ill, the slaughter of our soldiers and the neglect of our poor. You're a very small person.
- Look4Truth, on 12/13/2007, -1/+11And so are the brain dead zombies who wouldn't know the truth if it smacked them in the face.
- ftwn00b, on 12/13/2007, -1/+11thats some *****. ***** the media
- amd9495, on 12/13/2007, -1/+10Mike Gravel, now Dennis. They will probably try to exclude Ron Paul next. Damn the military-industrial complex!
- pintomp3, on 12/13/2007, -2/+11"In 1998 the council honored him for having the "courage and foresight" to stand up to the banks and saving the city an estimated $195 million between 1985 and 1995."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kucinich - georgemason01, on 12/13/2007, -5/+14Money talks. Sad but true.
That said, you should know the game by now. Ron Paul supporters did and took action. -
