- shaun1018, on 10/12/2007, -11/+74Yay! The puppet on the left is beating up the puppet on the right.
- greywolfexcel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+58As far as I'm concerned, we should just forget about the parties and vote based on the candidates themselves. Vote for an Independent next time around, and show both bloated parties that we're sick of their power plays and political machinations, and show everyone at the same time that being independent of a particular party is the only way to show you're serious about serving the nation, and not out to grab some power and money.
- Marku$, on 10/12/2007, -5/+53Civil Liberties are soooo September 10th.

The {select one: Democrats, Republicans} are full of *****!
Plain and simple. - CannedMango, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31Would you support a party that was AGAINST blowjobs on the job?
- cliffzdude, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28Progressive ideas, like unionizing Airport Security Workers, because they care SO much about customer service already.
- roosterjm2k2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24Um, no they wont.
Sorry. Dem or Rep, parties serve themselves. If you think they give half a ***** about your civil liberties, you've fallen for the most obvious trick in the political book. They are laying the groundwork for their campaigns (notice how the closer to elections, the more promises come out? Where was all of this 6 months ago, a year ago, 3 years ago?) ... The dems might get power, but they aren't going to just put everything back in place. The current system serves the rich, and it serves the government very well ... They could stop a lot of this stuff right now, but they arent. If they stopped it all now, they would have no promises to run on next year.
I find it ironic that anyone actually believes that either party cares the least bit about the american public. - otheruser, on 10/12/2007, -26/+47are you kidding?
the dems have passed a hell of a lot of progressive legislation in the few months they've been in control. - an0nymous, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25Hey Pabster.
Remember last November when you told us that the democrats were never going to get control of the House? Nice to hear from you again. - Dustin00, on 10/12/2007, -9/+25We already won. There was a banner and an aircraft carrier, a band and the president in a fighter jet! It was real cool!
So we can leave now. It's OK. - geekee, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24How many billions in pork barrel spending is this going to cost us?
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -26/+41@patscru
And then they will turn the country into a nanny state where everyone gets a set amount of distributed wealth that they "deserve" because the rich old man is abusing them to make all his money.
The only interest the Democrats have in "restoring .....blah blah blah" is to get more power and then magically, they too will forget their promises. - PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -27/+41good job dems for being the party with the wherewithal to reunite our country with it's true ideals. civil liberties, privacy, and honor during wartime were all pillars of our nation until around 6 years ago.
- wintermd, on 10/12/2007, -15/+29"lot of progressive legislation '
Please name one that in law right now...... - rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22((Yaaaawn))
Hey guys, I was just having this horrible dream about the government and this horrible prison and this Skynet-like Patriot act....
And you were there Cheney, and you Rumsfeld, you too Condi, and of course you too scarecr-uhm...Mr. Bush. - RedHerringHack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Talk is cheap. Lets see some action. You are on the clock.

APRIL FOOL...
MEET THE NEW BOSS, SAME AS THE OLD BOSS... - Verchiel77, on 10/12/2007, -11/+23You mean the plan that 60% of the American people support? Yeah, actually we *have* seen it.
You might've seen that, too, if you could tear yourself away from digging lgf articles.
143 of your last 150 stories Dugg?
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sock+puppet - Ninja337, on 10/12/2007, -8/+18All the Democrats on Digg are digging down the skeptics who say they aren't seeing any action from the Left, but they can't seem to actually respond to them and refute them

- d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13"Hey Pabster.
Remember last November when you told us that the democrats were never going to get control of the House? Nice to hear from you again."
That shut him up. - irvman21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"And a question for Bush supporters... would you count Bush vetoing sound bills from a Democratic congress a sign of the Democrat's "doing nothing"? Or would you come down on Bush for putting his personal interests before national interests?"
Sounds to me like they are intentionally trying to get things vetoed so they can go home and say "look at how hard we are trying" without actually taking the risk of getting their ideas passed. - WarpFox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12@rstarr
thats what happens when you fall asleep watching V for Vendetta. :) - marmanukem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Nothing will get done, because we have a lame duck president that will veto everything, and a senate that is too divided to over ride those vetoes. Its not the Dems fault that we have the worst president in history, and that the people elect retarded partisans that can't think outside of party policy.
- pabster, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12"America is nothing but a faint shadow of it's former self. Pathetic."
America remains the greatest country on the face of this earth. What is pathetic, you ask? That would be blowhards like yourself thinking we give two ***** what some European thinks. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Page stolen right from the Clinton book of Political Maneuvering and Posturing.
Whomever you're speaking to, say what they want to hear. Don't worry that you'll get caught flip flopping, most people can't even remember what they ate for breakfast. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+22Democrats: APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!
- fuzzmeister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Mmm... talking points.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"Vote for an Independent next time around"
Last time I did that, Bush took office. I'm with you all the way on principal -- the two party system doesn't represent anyone well; but until the political climate changes drastically (which will take some doing; we've been limited to two parties for the vast majority of American history), voting third party in major (e.g. presidential) elections is ineffective. - uptown, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Reminds me of the kid that runs for class president whose platform is to abolish homework.....
The only way they passed the Iraq deadline bill was to pad it with money for pet projects. One step forward, two steps back. - MrFlesh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Your not thinking enough if you think dems are screwing up the war on terror. Our government Repubs or dems can't keep out 12 million poor uneducated illegal immigrants yet we are expected to believe they can keep out a team of 16 well trained well funded terrorists? Please, nothing shows the war on terror is a crock of ***** than this simple fact. Nothing show that the war on terror is being waged on the american people by its government than this simple fact. Think about it if there was a terrorist hiding behind every rock on the other side of the border like MSM and our government wants us to believe wouldn't the attacks be on going? We know now that 99% of cargo shipped here goes unscanned......wouldn't we have more attacks? I'll make a prediction right here and now that the next terrorist attack will be used to excuse another war or draft until then we probably won't see one until a democratic president takes office.
- DiggingDeep, on 10/12/2007, -10/+16I thought April Fool's was yesterday
- IslandDog, on 10/12/2007, -8/+14Democrats, our enemies best friend.
Running around telling us what they will do to protect the rights of the people trying to kill us. - jasonj75, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Digg you down for what? Lack of a coherent thought?
I don't have that option so I'll just ignore you.
Cheers! - MrFlesh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6About the cow boys, desperate house wives and sofa from the 10th mortgage I agree with....but you don't follow enough American politics if you think people are getting pissed because dems promise to end guantanimo. You see the dems were re-elected on three issues......1) Ending the Iraq war 2) Impeaching Bush 3) Improving the economy........The following day after the election they took reason #2 off the table. Two months later reason #1 was taken off the table, and they haven't adressed reason number 3. On top of this they have given bush the green light to start war with iran when they stripped out the "No attacking iran" clause out of the new military budget. Unlike republicans democrats don't need six years worth of evidence before they realise they've been ripped off. As for at least we have our guns.....comming from experience I would much rather have a gun than call the police who won't show up for an hour and when they get there are more than likely to shoot the wrong person or get the wrong person in trouble. I will agree though that there is a large section of the population that is republicans that without fail sellout thier own intrests for empty words that are never followed through and thier masters benifits.
Liber media my ass. You ***** bible beater warmonger republicans see only two things. Your view and the far left. There is no moderate, there is especially no far right.....we've lived under your assinine policies for 6 years and they've been a failure at every turn. - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9@jazzmine - Can you provide a logical argument as to why it is necessary?
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@ringworm
Would you? The democrats stabbed him in the back in the primaries and he still won in the general election... If I were him, I'd be voting my conscience down the line.... ***** what anyone else thinks.
As an independent senator in an evenly divided congress, he's got some hella power and he can really do some good. He also owes neither party any favors... He's the man to swing to your side. - Favre4Favre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Term limits so they can focus on what needs to be done and not getting re elected
- MrFlesh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I can identify your political leanings by the term "Liberal Media" no liberal in this country thinks the media is liberal
- tas783, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I think we need to go into The Capitol building and hand every single one of them a pink slip. Then go out and get people who actually give a damn about the people of this country, sit them down and say ok here is your chance, screw up and we'll kick you out too. Idealistic, sure but it would be nice. In reality though if a Politician says something, Democrat or Republican, it is probably a lie to get more power, plain and simple, and I for one am really sick of all the damn politicians in this country. Where the hell are the Statesmen?
- strabes, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I love how all the libbies on digg think that the more a party does, the better. The fact that this administration has passed very few laws is a good thing. (not that I support Republicans) Name me one thing that the government does better and more efficiently than private free markets. How about something the government even does well with little waste or bureaucracy?
I don't know about you, but I don't want Airport Security Workers being unionized & having tenure. airport security with tenure = crummy airport security = unsafe flights. - dcmjzero, on 10/12/2007, -9/+13"cut and run?" i would quit watching fox news.
and besides, the administration's plan of "send troops and fail" hasn't been the greatest success. at some point "cut and run" is a good option. - GRTWHT, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Wow! Huge kudos to most of the posters above (ignoring the trolls) for restoring my faith!
I had started to wonder if anyone else recognized that both parties are full of it and both intend to screw the american public as often and completely as possible, but obviously at least some people aren't falling for the same old BS!
Of course, I just looked at the comments below and found that many are still falling for the 'we're the good guys, they're the bad guys' crap. - GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What of those who have been released without charge. I assume these are not enemy combatants. At this point all those remaining are terrorists then?
- ironpirate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Democrats want to close Guantanamo and to keep the terrorists inside the US. Who the hell wants those people in my back yard.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Democrats are all talk and no action. Let's see if they have the guts to stop funding the troops. I'm waiting....
...and still waiting
...and still waiting - thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -15/+19Ask the soldiers what they think.
Every one I've talked to thinks they are doing the right thing.
Stand and fight is better than Run away and get shot in the back. - stepnw1f, on 10/12/2007, -10/+14Dumb... just another typical sophmoric shot at .......... drum roll......... Clinton. It's all you right wingers have. At least the man can get a blow job! Unfortunately when people do, the republicans get uptight and have to make an issue of it. God forbid people in this country have the right to do whatever the hell they want in their privacy..... ooops, that's right. You right wingers seem to hate privacy. How does one's privacy bother you.... paranioa maybe? Seems to be consistant.
Women's Right to chose=privacy
Terri Schiavo and her husband's decision=privacy
Forcing YOUR religion down American's throats=privacy
Wire Tapping=privacy
etc.......
Interestingly though, everything public, you wish to make private, as long as it's the wealthy that own everything, even our privacy. How Orwellian....... - razor150, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4So, what are you saying? That they should do nothing until there is a new President, because frankly that just sounds stupid. Or that they should do whatever Bush wants to make it look like they are getting things done, because that is what got the last Congress voted out.
