- proseandpromise, on 12/12/2007, -3/+55FTA: "He'll easily be their McGovern, an easy kill," mocked one senior Democrat operative Tuesday morning from Washington.
"His letting out murderers because they shout 'Jesus', his wanting to put 300,000 AIDS patients and Magic Johnson into isolation, ain't even scratching the surface of what we've got on him."
Doesn't look good for Huck. - manicmarvin, on 12/12/2007, -1/+36That will backfire. Based on the last two elections, I predict the dumbest candidate will win. Mike "The World is 6 Thousand Years Old" Huckabee fits the bill.
- MasterThief117, on 12/12/2007, -1/+29Is Huckabee joking with his stance or is he an idiot? I mean seriously. He is a nut. He is pro everything everyone the majority is against. He not only supports the current war, he wants to increase the number of troops. He not only agrees with the Patriot Act spying on us, he is pro sending "terrorists" to Guantanamo. He is against stem cells. He is also against same-sex marriages AND same-sex civil unions.
His sense of humor is tasteless. He talks about how much weight he lost, and even compared his weight loss to the experience of a concentration camp. Who the hell does this and thinks it's a good idea?
He disagrees with state benefits to illegal immigrants because for whatever reason he thinks it is "un-Christian." What does that even mean? How is it "un-Christian?" - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -4/+31Huckabee's hard core uber-religious, close minded views will be a guaranteed loss in the general election. The Dems are hoping beyond hope Huckabee is the nominee.
- ThaddeusB, on 12/12/2007, -9/+33Matt Drudge is a Romney tool and got this "inside info" directly from Romney's campaign
--------
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1207/ ...
I asked officials at the DNC about the item screaming at the top of Drudge today.
Responded Communications Director Karen Finney:
"We always appreciate having our hard work noticed, and we know Mitt Romney likes to feel special, but the truth is we've been tracking Huckabee for over a year. The Romney campaign should take heart in the fact that the Drudge Report is buying their spin hook, line and sinker because nothing in that story came from us." - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -2/+23Yeah, if you see bigotry, religious zealotry, close-mindedness, and vindictiveness as "bringing America together in a positive way" then yes, you are correct.
- wishninja, on 12/12/2007, -5/+24I hope the republicans tear themselves apart over this race. It looks like they might.
- GregLoire, on 12/12/2007, -0/+19You pasted one too many times. Or perhaps two too many times...
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -3/+22It's funny that Huckabee carries on about being at war with Islamic extremists, when he is basically the same thing under a different label.
- inblosam, on 12/12/2007, -3/+19And you can tell who the DNC is the most afraid of by the number of press releases going out.
Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA) – 37% (99 press releases)
Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY) – 28% (74)
Senator John McCain (R-AZ) – 24% (64)
Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN) – 8% (20)
Governor Mike Huckabee – 2% (4) - quadforce, on 12/12/2007, -10/+26There's only one candidate who can beat the dems and that's Paul.
- proseandpromise, on 12/12/2007, -1/+17Honestly I don't think he'll pull in the evangelical vote nationally if this keeps up. The number of Evangelicals fed up with guys like this is higher than you'd think. Most got burnt by the Bush admin and aren't really looking to repeat that frustration.
- ThaddeusB, on 12/12/2007, -3/+18If the DNC is afraid of Romney, they are clueless - he is by far the easiest target.
- PATSCRU, on 12/12/2007, -1/+16so sad, so true.
- fuzzmeister, on 12/12/2007, -0/+15"the DUMBs"
What is this, 2nd grade? - PATSCRU, on 12/12/2007, -0/+15Hey guys! my name's moniquecat and i'm paid by the huck campaign to make sure that you get the maximum amount of ***** information about huckabee using as many accounts as possible! enjoy your stay on digg!
- kaelyiesta, on 12/12/2007, -2/+16Don't buy into the lie that there is much separating the democratic and republican parties. In many ways, they are the same. The supporters for one side or the other are the only ones truly divided, just like they want you to be.
- stealthc, on 12/12/2007, -20/+34Once again, if the RNC nominates ANYBODY but Ron Paul, they are scuttling themselves either deliberately or through ignorance.
- joshmoney, on 12/12/2007, -1/+15If the Republicans really only care about defeating Hillary then they would be foolish to elect Huckabee - theres not a dem or lib alive who would vote for this guy. If they were really smart they would recognize the one candidate within their party who has already one over voters from other parties...
- Chestnutridge, on 12/12/2007, -0/+13You really drank the Kool-aid didn't you? For Huckabee's sake, I hope all of his fans aren't as hysterical as you.
- johnnick, on 12/12/2007, -1/+13And simply stating that he's doing it over and over really doesn't make your case very well.
- UltraAyla, on 12/12/2007, -2/+13That's not at all what it says. Wanting an easy opponent doesn't mean that you only think you can win if your opponent is easy. It means just that: An easy opponent is EASIER to beat.
It's thinking like yours that has divided our country and made it a nation of hatred and escalations. - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+11Absolutely. He'll split the Republican vote.
- rhabd0mancer, on 12/12/2007, -3/+14I think Rudy Ghouliani will be the easiest to beat. Loony xtians are not going to flock to the polls to vote for a pro-abortionist. They will overlook the numerous skeletons in Huckabee's closet because he is filled to the brim with the spirit of Jesus Christ, amen.
- rhabd0mancer, on 12/12/2007, -3/+13Sen. Obama will kick the crap out of any republicon, count on it.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+10except chuck dumbass norris, what a loser
- CSOKI, on 12/12/2007, -2/+11That response was awesome. Glad I read it high..
- carterbaldwin, on 12/12/2007, -0/+8Right, because 'Democrats eat babies!' is totally going to resonate with the voters.
- BrandonMills, on 12/12/2007, -4/+12Yeah, I don't know *why* we'd get bored of Ron Paul. It's not like someone shoved him down our throats until we couldn't stand to hear his name anymore.
- sb66, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7charles bronson would kick his hick ass anyways
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -4/+11Exactly . . . the evangelical stuff plays well with those who focus on "Christian" issues and thus may bring him the nomination where they are so influential in many of the Republican primaries, but it will be divisive in a general election and drive away many who could gravitate to a Republican candidate - especially if shrillary is on the other side.
- gophernut, on 12/12/2007, -9/+16Enough with the Ron Paul bull! Every political article is not about him!
Digg me down, I dare you! - mrfreeziexp, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7"Now, if Romney were to denounce that book, it would be different. But I can assure you, he ain't gonna do that."
No, that wouldn't help him at ALL. It would look like he can't even stick to his own religion, it would make him look spineless. Now I don't disagree that Romney is an easy target(or spineless for that matter), but it's because of his politics, not his religion. - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -1/+8HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Yeah, suuuure he will. You go vote for that guy. :D - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -2/+8Again, evangelicals are not falling for Huck. Lots of people may wish it were so, but it simply isn't, for the reasons that Prose noted. Huck is an open-borders advocate and this evangelical will not vote for him on the basis of that alone.
- ZenMojo, on 12/12/2007, -5/+11Ron Paul's value is highly overestimated. There aren't that many Libertarians in the population.
- carterbaldwin, on 12/12/2007, -1/+7Because it was the democrats who brought about the term 'swiftboating', what with their relentless attacks on the character of a thrice-decorated war veteran. And it was the democrats who called Max Cleland unpatriotic, a man decorated with the silver and bronze stars who lost three limbs fighting for his country. Damn those democratic character assassins!
- jaxcs, on 12/12/2007, -0/+6Pffft, he did. (what's with the crazy disdain in your posts anyway?)
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/artic ...
Really, if you don't know the facts regarding your own statements, don't even bother writing. You won't get away with it. - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -1/+7ok course, it is the globalists wet dream to get hilary in and continue the dynasty of bush-clinton so they place a weak republican candidate. wake up and see that dems/repubs are they same as coke and pepsi!! vote for change, not for a party!
- morningmatters, on 12/12/2007, -3/+9"The only way they can win is by cutting down their opponents, not by building up themselves. Schoolyard bullies."
Surely you must be talking about the GOP? In fact, Rove mastered this technique. - katie212, on 12/12/2007, -2/+7Think about it, what is the difference in the so called frontrunner democratic candidates and the so called frontrunner republican candidates? Hardly anything , they both want to spend our tax money and they both have voted to continue this sadistic Iraq War....Exception? Ron Paul. The elite don't want him...so WE SHOULD!
- proseandpromise, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5I said "I think" and I'm not an expert, but I went to an Evangelical college where 90 percent of the students were republichristians and by the time I graduated last year, most of the people I knew that had been majorly pro-Bush were frustrated and ready to vote for libertarians. Chill out out dude.
- sidewalksurfing, on 12/12/2007, -1/+6i can't believe someone actually seriously believes anything posted on drudgereport.
- morningmatters, on 12/12/2007, -3/+8The problem with Democratic strategists is that they believe the majority conservative voters think logically, which would mean Guiliani or Romney having the best chances to maximize votes. The sad reality is that majority of americans and especially conservatives are easy to manipulate so candidates themselves are more or less irrelevant. No foreign experience? No problem! Just run a few swift boat for truth type ads and your opponents are toast. The real question is, how low will the Republicans go in order to win the next election?
- atheinostic, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5The word "liberal" in Australia means something different than it does in the U.S. We would probably call an Australian Liberal Party member a libertarian or a classical liberal.
- Dukeye, on 12/12/2007, -2/+6I would add this; the only candidates who will follow American law, i.e. the Constitution, are Gravel, Kucinich, and Paul. All of others are CFR members...members of an organization that systematically supports and enables the dissolution of American sovereignty in favor of international governance, i.e. world government. The mass media willfully ignores Paul despite his support (he's got a blimp, his poll numbers go up every week, and he'll set a fundraising record on the 17th). Take this in conjunction with paperless, hackable, unaccountable Diebold machines at the polls, and regardless of who you support, you should be concerned for the uneroded continuation of our great American experiment.
- ZenMojo, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4Obama and Kucinich didn't vote to extend the war. Obama voted for a March 2008 deadline and he spoke out about the war in 2002.
- ScoobyG, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4God that web site is *****. Both form and content.
- BrewmasterC, on 12/12/2007, -2/+6Looks like Huck and Mitt are punching each other's lights out. It's going to be fun seeing the Dems KO'd in the first round by Iron Ron.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4In other news, no one gives a ***** about the drudge report.
