You can not make an undemocratic system democratic by adding more undemocratic pieces to the puzzle. I would go as far as to say that a single-party system (which in effect is a no-party system) is far more democratic than a two-party or multi-party system, as long as that single party (or "no party") has a democratic structure, unlike the Communist Parties of the Soviet Union, the People's Republic of China and others.

The only way we can hope to get a say in the running of our country, is to consistently vote out the incumbents when they act against our wishes.
