- the3rdkey, on 10/11/2007, -5/+61"Brain dead" like the 80% of the voting age population who do not vote.
- AzDraon, on 10/11/2007, -7/+42BREAKING: Joe Biden has changed name to Captain Obvious.
- Jo9100, on 10/11/2007, -4/+33i would change 'accuses' for 'declares'
- Barbarino, on 10/11/2007, -7/+33Biden has 0.0% shot at winning.
- Jugalator, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Still pretty nasty statistics... Over here, if it's less than 80% or so, the parties consider themselves of having failed to engage the public in the topics. I mean, it's your one free right to really voice your opinion on how the country should be ran. Sure, "all are corrupt" and all that, but usually there's at least a lesser evil.
- kevinmotel, on 10/11/2007, -5/+14didn't 100,000,000 people vote in 2004? in a country with 300,000,000 people, thats 33% of the ENTIRE population, minus felons and minors, its probably closer to 40-50% of the voting age population voted
- tHePeOPle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7having no shot at winning always makes candidates more honest. They've got nothing to lose.
- MeMongo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Seriously, here's a more appropriate Latin phrase for our current global situation:
Quid custodiet ipsos custodes?
Who shall watch the watchers? - joklem, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10Can you?
- eean, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10I think it speaks more to the American electorate. :|
- jeffdjohnson, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8You only "get what you deserve" when the outcome is the direct result of your choice. So, unless each and every one of us voted for Bush, that statement is rubbish.
Apologies for being a dick, but it's comments like yours that make me lose the will to live. - Ladymongoose, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10He merely voiced what we all think about Bush.
- logicon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I can't wait to see how the media reacts.
BREAKING: Joe Biden is opposed to the mentally challenged.
BREAKING: Joe Biden compares Terry Schiavo to Bush.
BREAKING: Joe Biden: 'I hate retards.' - JHW539, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4In the 2004 presidential elections, about 70% of registered voters and about 60% of voting age people voted, see here http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A10492-2005Jan14.html and http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html . But hey, saying only 20% of people voted sounds good - why bother with facts?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7That's the side-effect of every single candidate running negative campaigns against their opponents. The more dirt you dig up and pile on, the less desirable these people look. And the fact is that NO ONE, ANYWHERE is a perfect person, and everyone has dirt in their personal history. I'd say that some of these candidates are actually probably better human beings than most Americans, yet the negative campaigns from their opponents do their work and the kind of attitude you have is born.
- TommyBoy919, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Bush is brain dead, I'm not sure why this is news when we've know it for some time. It kindof a shame that Biden has no shot of winning, he would make a great president.
- SocialPoison, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6":impeach ron pauls iphone!!!"
I lol'd - DonKarnage25, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5"I would seriously like to see a "brain dead" person manage to get elected president"
Were you living under a rock in 2000 and 2004? - MeMongo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Yeah, Gravel really seems to have his ***** together. Ron Paul scares me a little too much (not in the way Bush scares me), but since Gravel seems to be smart, competent, and a "buck stops here" guy, he won't make it past the primaries. The way people make their candidate choices (he looks ugly, he's too short, etc.) baffles me.
- Squeetard, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Please, GW is a barely functioning retard. I bet the secret service has to tie his shoes. As a canadian I can not believe you elected him to a second term.
How does a retard get elected? Simple. Your daddy is an EX pres and you jump right into the pockets of Oil and other big interests. GW is a retard puppet on a string. - gordonm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7You are really like idiot if u look at the stuff u write.
- Bobski, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office. - Aesop
- stephk0008, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5It's EASY to win an election when you have Rupert Murdoch in your back pocket. Do your homework to find out how Bush REALLY got elected!
- rauz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I don't know where Jugalator lives but here in Sweden 81.99% voted in 2006. Out of everyone that's qualified (anyone over 18) that is.
- MacintoshSauce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Bush is not a true Christian. He advocates war for nothing and I think the public record shows this quite clearly. Bush has over 3000 soldiers' deaths on his conscience. I can only imagine how many civilians have died unnecessarily because of his war.
He will be judged harshly by Jesus Christ when he dies. - MxM111, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3But that was inaccurate statement by Joe Biden, because it assumes that Bush was "brain alive" at some point, otherwise you can't be dead.
- brianbennett, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This is about as newsworthy as a Digg story comment reading "Bush sucks!"
- monkeyrun, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Definitely not brain dead, he just don't give a ***** anymore.
- graycat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Is this supposed to be a controversial statement by Biden? Who is going to dispute something like that - other than the devoted 20% who would support Bush even if he ate a puppy on live TV?
- janeuner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Here, have a cookie. You deserve it.
- graycat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Okay...so what exactly did that have to do with Biden calling the President an idiot. It's like you copied and pasted a response from some old thread on Usenet.
- jeffeb3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I almost wonder if digging up and exposing your own greatest faults early in the game (like right after the primaries) would let people forget about them, or at least shrug them off by the time the election comes around. If reps. are spending months defending bush as a former drug addict, then when the news comes out about the dem candidate being unpatriotic or wishy washy, they now have more ammunition right before the election to argue with their liberal friends about, while the liberal folks are only spouting the same arguments, that the neutral person heard last time they argued, it makes the reps the winner.
Well, thank you digg, Where else can I publish these ridiculous ideas? - Bobski, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Brain dead? Oh yeah? Oh yeah? Well you're a... a... DOO-DOO HEAD!
- dylansbeard1, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Because they are all politicians
- deleo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Most of our country feels brain dead right now. For the majority of people that don't have a loved one in Iraq, it's the same way as usual, a chili cheeseburger, large fries and coke, and a night in front of the TV watching some brain dead reality game show. It's just the way Bush and Cheney want it. The population is quiet and restrained.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"I can hardly wait to debate Rudy Giuliani if he is their nominee,” he said. “Because I will eat his lunch."
lol, what a weird insult, makes Biden seem like a school yard bully
I don't understand why more people don't like Joe Biden. He doesn't avoid the questions (well compared to the others), his stances are comprehensible, he has a lot of experience, and he seems the most knowledgeable of the bunch. He's also willing to stand up for what he believes in, and has been the chair of the senate Foreign Relations which is the sort of President we need right now, one who knows how to increase America's standing in the world and help create harmony in the world...or at least no catastrophy. - sanman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3UMMMM, Senator Biden, what happened to your presidential candidacy again??
- grizwald, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hair Plugs
- brianbennett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1...because the stuff that comes out of his mouth is moronic. Biden is the guy that called Obama clean and articulate.
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” - WileEPeyote, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2If I based my self-worth on pieces of paper I might actually be concerned. As it is, I now feel better about not having attended an Ivy League school. I am afraid I could not even afford 1/4 of an "Ivy League" education.
- greenm1981, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with you. Even if he did have a shot, i.e. HARDCORE grass roots fundraising, the very thought of amending the constitution to allow for more citizen participation, while extinguishing the ability of non-individuals to lobby politicians, would have many people on the hill gunning for him.
Too bad he's not attractive. - DestroyFascism, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I would change Brain Dead for Non Existent...
- flamadiddle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Maybe not, but 293,027,571 is pretty close. (That's from the CIA world fact book 2004.)
- texnofobix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Is someone calling the Kettle black?
- Bobski, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2That's your best retort?
- Enochyang, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3"Brain dead" ... those words are too kind in my opinion.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Was that Joe "the plagiarist" Biden???
- iChaz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Wow.. I don't think he would want to succeed him. Just because someone is a politician doesn't mean he has intentions of becoming a president.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I will need to see the CT scan that proves a brain exists before it can be declared dead.....
- Xeth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I take it your political opinion involves not voting?
