- phnx0221, on 02/01/2008, -0/+19Warning. This is graphic. The first picture is not so bad, but the rest of them will turn your heart on its side. It is true, that this is good for us to see. It is good for us to know, with more than just words, of what atrocities are being committed in our names, in the name of "national security" and in the name of "the war on terror."
Throughout the last 5 years, we have committed vile acts of invasion upon the rights of others to simply live. Yes, we lost 3,000 American lives on 9/11 (2001), but, we have lost even more American lives through this war, and between 600,000 and 1,000,000 lives of Iraqi civilians since this war and subsequent occupation began.
During this time, we have lost our morality through the use of torture. Torture that was used on Americans during the Second World War, and in the Vietnam War. We learned from our enemy, and used their tactics on our own enemies, while our officials still cling to the plausible deniability of not being able to say whether or not it is in fact torture (but while they''re trying oh so hard to figure it out, they'll just go ahead and continue using these techniques, right?). We have humiliated, degraded, and destroyed the lives of countless people, and several whole communities. We have put people in prisons without trial, without representation, without the right to notify their families, and without charge.
We have employed some of the most applicable minds in the study of psychology and interrogation, so that we can tweak these techniques so that these people are pushed *just to* their breaking points, and some are pushed far beyond.
We are killing the humanity of these people, and by doing so, we are allowing our government to desensitize us to the killing of humanity within ourselves. We are slowly becoming tolerant, or passively so, of these acts, committed abroad, and here in our US prison systems here at home, where many of these interrogation, isolation, and humiliating techniques originated.
Again, these pictures are graphic. But even if you only look at three of them, two of them, or all of them, you will see, and hopefully remember what our humanity means to us, and to everyone, and we why can NEVER allow ANYONE to take that away from us. - ladybroadoak, on 02/01/2008, -0/+10please visit freedetainees.org - we have NO idea when these men will get out. We're not seeing the mangled bodies and the real horrors of this war like we did during the Vietnam War. You don't just throw out a wall of information and theories at people, you have to introduce them to your ideas carefully and selectively. And let them be the judge of what they see. They're capable, thinking human beings, after all. Allow them to come to their own conclusions.

d) people cannot think about it and come to their own conclusions if they are not exposed to it.
e) the popular "dystopian classics" ARE inspired by the insanity of these creatures in power, and the politics depicted in these movies are telling us the realities, frank herberts 'DUNE' is on the mark, 'aeon flux', 'the matrix'... these authors are very aware of the realities and make a whole lot of money fictionalizing the truth, my personal approach draws attention to it that way.
I am a sci-fi fan from an early age and have read/watched a LOT of it, it is how I have come to understand the psychology and motivations of the powers that be (it also made psychology classes very simple for me). I'm not a closed minded "tin-foil-hat-wearing-conspiracy-theorist", just very observant and cynical.
I'm not david icke trying to tell people political leaders are insane for being possessed by satanic reptilian demons, though at some levels it might make sense with consideration given to the inbred bloodlines of the "true elite" so that genetically they can be more receptive to such posession through many generations.. (a theory I cant totally and offhandedly just dismiss, or prove true/false). the destruction of the economy, global reputation, educational system, and the family unit that WE do not pass knowledge power and money generationally like the elite DO, is most definitely a control mechanism in play.
the approach got your attention didnt it? the web page about george (scherff) bush was fairly well researched, if you have read it, by now you might understand it contains a few large parts of this 'political machine jigsaw puzzle' that is working against the freedom of humanity, and against humanity itself. I, for one, am not going to practice 'static apnea' with that idea in mind.
For when they are not released (or given trial) it will be clear to so very few that they were never held to cover up "evidence of their tourture" but just perhaps to cover up the information gained from it. Myself, being allergic to pain, would probably say "I shot JR, faked the moon landings, and farted in the church"; whatever they want to hear. But just suppose that some information gained from the practice was not crap but truth? And suppose that since much of the tourture was 'outsourced' to other countries that these countries may have kept detailed recordings of everything said for future use (blackmail). Some of the 'truth' may have been along these lines..."I am (insert goathearder name here); I (insert action here) according to the plan of (insert redacted name here)."

I was entered into one of those church of christ private kindergardens. It was ever so boring. Same routine every day.
