- Raisedshoulder, on 03/23/2008, -12/+109I think Al Gore should give an endorsement too.
- bitfreak, on 03/23/2008, -14/+78If there is someone out there that knows John Edwards, I hope they are having this discussion with him and encouraging him to step up. He could really make a huge difference to the party and the country. Maybe even to the world.
- ljismeok2, on 03/23/2008, -18/+80I can 't believe you are a Ron Paul supporter. If all the other Ron Paul supporters are like you, it really turns me off.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -8/+60Krauthammer has never said anything perfectly. How are his predictions on the Iraq war coming along btw?
- merper, on 03/23/2008, -7/+54Holy crap, what the hell happened to digg? The Clinton trolls look like they've been reproducing like bacteria.
- thethinktank, on 03/23/2008, -16/+63you're a colossal toolbox, cashman57. At the most base level of his character, Obama is a uniter-- he has been even before his days in the state legislature in Illinois. Clinton, on the other hand, is entirely divisive. She is leading her campaign to the demise of the Democratic Party-- if she can possibly push the superdelegates to overturn the pledged delegate vote, young voters and minorities will become disenfranchised with the Dems and not likely vote in the general election, and perhaps the future. I am one of those young voters (28) who will not vote unless Obama wins the nomination.
As for Obama being a uniter, since his early days, do your homework:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...
And since then, his U.S. senate experience:
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/2/21/164117 ...
I voted Barack Obama into the U.S. senate in Illinois. I caucused for Obama in my new home here in Iowa in January. I will vote for Barack Obama in the general election against John McCain, where Obama will be victorious. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -8/+53I wonder how many of these trolls work for the Clinton campaign.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -12/+57Darn, there goes cashman57 speaking for all of America again. Hey, cashman, here's an idea: shut the ***** up you trolling *****.
- erkokite, on 03/23/2008, -17/+60Wow. The Clinton shills are out in full force. I'm not worried though. Clinton will lose the nomination, just like she lost almost all of the primaries. Reality is a bitch, isn't it, Clinton shills?
- gypsi, on 03/23/2008, -15/+57the problem is you didn't watch the speech, you just listened to 5 second soundbites as the reverend rush limbaugh explained what all the big words meant for you
- saska, on 03/23/2008, -5/+44It was clear in Iowa a few days ago that John Edwards's supporters are speaking for him.
- Eiknujrac, on 03/23/2008, -9/+46Cashman is pretty entertaining. He's pretty much the kind of person that makes me want to vote for Obama even more. I want to prove that these kinds of people have no voice in America anymore.
- TinternAbbot, on 03/23/2008, -10/+43"Barack Obama distinguished himself as a pivotal figure in American history with his historic speech on the 18th"
I'm sorry...granted I'm no fan of Obama's, but this statement is simply not true. Obama distinguished himself as a pivotal figure not by some speech, but by transcending race in politics and becoming the first legitimate politician of color to contend for the Oval Office. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -2/+32I didn't realize people took Krauthammer seriously.
- BevansDesign, on 03/23/2008, -4/+32* Paid for by the Hillary Clinton for President Foundation.
- saxreturns, on 03/23/2008, -3/+30Seriously, don't you ever get tired of being wrong?
- saska, on 03/23/2008, -6/+30No, we're not all like him.
- felman87, on 03/23/2008, -4/+27I didn't know First Lady was considered a position of leadership. In that case
Laura Bush 08!! - goomba323, on 03/23/2008, -6/+29But there IS a difference from a black man calling his GRANDMOTHER "the typical white person", when she grew up in a time where she would have those instilled racist thoughts (even if she wasn't racist...my white grandpa and grandma were the same...seems "typical" to me).
And I don't think it's racist to call Rev. Wright your "typical black pastor", if you mean it in the context that they tend to bring social/politics issues into their sermons.
It's all about context. And intelligent person can realize this and see Obama wasn't being "racist" in the slightest bit by using the phrase "typical white person" when referring to his grandmother, when it's pretty accurate description when put into context. - BevansDesign, on 03/23/2008, -5/+27A vote for Hillary is a vote for more of the same!
- scotticus, on 03/23/2008, -4/+24Anyone still thinking that republicans are smart need only reference the past seven and a half years.
If he's such a separatist, why are independents voting for him in droves? I see a guy who manages to see both sides of a story and can explain the positions on both sides of a partisan issue. - internetcoward, on 03/23/2008, -6/+24it is because he pretty much bashed every obama supporter, not really JUST disagreeing... Just like how you did. Maybe you need to leqarn how to interact, even in just typed word, with people.
- scotticus, on 03/23/2008, -3/+20Way to form opinions using sound bites.
You're a tool. - inactive, on 03/23/2008, -7/+24Obama>Hillary,Mccain&Ralph Nader
- smotpoker, on 03/23/2008, -8/+24For someone who hates Obama and Obama supporters you sure do tag along a lot...
- merper, on 03/23/2008, -2/+18Krauthammer was a neo-con tool, when my poli sci teacher in high school introduced us to him. He's only gotten worse in the five years since.
- NyteStarNyne, on 03/23/2008, -4/+20I think it's time for any known face in the democratic party that supports Obama to come out and support him NOW (Yes, you too Bill Clinton) and try to counter the biased media coverage that's been spreading like wildfire since last week. They're over analyzing non issue situations, exaggerating sound bytes and stirring up their own fear campaign against the guy. And to think, Hillary supporters are still complaining that he's getting a free ride.
- thethinktank, on 03/23/2008, -1/+17actually, i want to be united-- just not with colossal toolboxes.
- UberNick, on 03/23/2008, -2/+17Agreed. Obama's the only other candidate to even pay lip service to civil liberties. And while he advocates for a much larger role and responsibility of federal government than most Paulites would support, the fact that he's a constitutional scholar and rational, intelligent politician lends credence to the hope that he will respect the limits and balances of our constitution. While not a first-choice for me (a Paul supporter), I'm rather relieved to see how well Obama is faring.
- fluxion, on 03/23/2008, -2/+16you pretend to be objective yet there you sit reiterating the same bs fox and rush pulled out of their ass to create the illusion of some huge backlash against obama, while the polls show a majority of voters had a positive take on the speech.
you're the one trying to create the divide.
you cant make a speech like that without some doufus dreaming up something to bitch about it. as a whole it was eloquent and fair and was rooted in purpose of bringing america together - goomba323, on 03/23/2008, -3/+16Every citizen of voting age has a voice in America? That isn't even true. YOU are the ignorant one.
- NyteStarNyne, on 03/23/2008, -2/+15What's with you guys assuming he'll break all his promises? You folks have daddy issues or something?
- Jareth86, on 03/23/2008, -5/+18Obamunist? Tee hee, you right wingers are so clever.
- marmanukem, on 03/23/2008, -2/+15I always find it funny when they count Texas in the win column. Its about delegates people, and Obama won more in Texas.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -3/+15Wow, an entire four states out of fifty!
Obama wasn't even on the Michigan ballot.
People were voting for Clinton, Obama, AND Edwards in Florida. Hillary won with a 37% "majority". - scotticus, on 03/23/2008, -2/+14Grow up, child. Way to bend someone's words to mean something completely orthogonal and attack them as stupid for it.
It figures you'd be against Obama since his politics are devoid of these tactics. - Zap2, on 03/23/2008, -2/+14No, Paul plan of pretending race isn't an issue to some, isn't historic
- facelesscoward, on 03/23/2008, -2/+14Rev. Wright didn't make any racist comments.
- bethlagarrison, on 03/23/2008, -2/+13All that fundraising money has to go somewhere.. you can only run so many commercials.
- ileftfark, on 03/23/2008, -7/+18I think Edwards is perfectly capable of making that decision for himself, and will do so when if/when he finds it necessary. I don't think he needs "encouragement".
- mochaman, on 03/23/2008, -1/+12Edward's endorsement is only symbolic for voters in rural areas in Pennsylvania but where his endorsement becomes more crucial is with swaying the super delegate vote.
- inactive, on 03/23/2008, -3/+14Yes I've read peices on racism by ron paul. I think some of the more striking quotes included:
"I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."
and
"If you have ever been robbed by a black teenaged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be"
At least he's honest regarding his positions, I suppose... - felman87, on 03/23/2008, -2/+13Obama can be no more racist to white people than he can to Black. In case you forgot, he's half and half.
- bethlagarrison, on 03/23/2008, -1/+11Calling him an "admitted racist" shows that you didn't understand a word of that speech.
- Pentalaimon, on 03/23/2008, -1/+11Honestly, how do you think that will play out?
Hillary would still go to Denver with less votes, less delegates, less caucus delegates, less primary delegates, and ask to be anointed nominee?
And then the democrats would rally round Hillary, and defeat McCain?
Really?
Even if it were possible for Clinton to win legitimately (which it isn't) and she did so (which she won't) she would still lose against McCain.
You might prefer Hillary, but that is no longer a viable choice. Your choice is Obama or McCain. - h0lyavenger, on 03/23/2008, -1/+11But do you have a problem voting for someone who will continue a pointless war that has already cost millions of lives? Or vote for someone who would lie and cheat and generally do anything possible for power?
- smotpoker, on 03/23/2008, -3/+12Don't antagonize the mentally deficient
- erkokite, on 03/23/2008, -4/+13She didn't win Texas. Clinton is the senator of New York. Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan. Florida and Michigan aren't going to count anyway. Obama has won almost all of the primaries so far. 17. Count them. That is reality.
- erkokite, on 03/23/2008, -6/+15Given that Obama is a Harvard graduate, has written a book for which he received an Emmy, has had exposure to many cultures throughout the world, opposed the Iraq war from the start, and has a good environmental record, he certainly has some substance to him. The best Clinton can do is say, "I voted for the Iraq war before I knew it was bad," and trying to cover up her past legacy of promoting NAFTA.
- smotpoker, on 03/23/2008, -4/+13Say the people who classify anti-war sermons as "hate speech", spread ridiculously stupid and unfounded lies and then act like little bitches when they're called on it
