Crash the RNC Convention! Minneapolis/St Paul Sept 1-4
nornc.org — On September 1-4 of 2008, the Republican Party is coming to Minnesota to celebrate their latest conquests in global domination and exploitation. We of the RNC Welcoming Committee want to make sure that this time the fear-mongers will be met with their own biggest fear: people mobilized, organized, and taking the future back into their own hands.

- yellowcakewalk, on 07/16/2008, -12/+23N.B. I am not personally aquainted with the people who run the nornc.org website, they are one of many groups of activists descending on the RepubliCON. The point is, find some friends and get out and get active.
- redcolumbine, on 07/16/2008, -8/+30Have fun with the agents-provocateurs. I'm sure there'll be plenty to go around. Don't forget your health insurance card, and Mummy & Daddy's phone number at the law firm. Take lots of video!
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/16/2008, -11/+12There are always agents-provocateurs, there were many at RepubliCON 2004 in NYC, and tons of disinformation. Caveat Emptor. You don't have to get yourself arrested to make an impact, in fact this dedicated protester advises against it IMO . And you don't have to join ANY group! Just get up some friends and go. Or go alone and hook up with folks there.
We'll be stretching our trademark "arrest bush for war crimes" banner, and doing a lot of audio interviews.

- ciaran036, on 07/16/2008, -17/+3Hope to see dozens of people getting carried out screaming! Well anything but just sitting there listening to the crap.
- onetimer, on 07/16/2008, -20/+25Yeah! That's the mature way to handle things!
I for one, can't wait to see a replay of some nut running into the convention area screaming "VOTE RONPAULRONPAUL 9/11 was and INSIDE JOB VOTE Ron PAUL" and being tasered and dragged out...- allowners, on 07/16/2008, -6/+1Yeah, I recommend you do it the way the mature side does: Hire a bunch of drug addicted, war warmongering lunatics to preach hate on corporate media 24 hours a day. Then hire a bunch of authoritarian underlings to taser and drag your opponents away. That's the way you do it.
- trogdoor, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Really, onetimer controls the media? Here I thought he just commented on Digg.
- allowners, on 07/17/2008, -5/+1Na, of course not, onetimer is one of the authoritarian underlings carrying their water. I'm impressed with the excellent job he's doing, I was paying him a compliment.
- baldr, on 07/17/2008, -3/+1since when did protest and voicing one's opinion become immature?
- onetimer, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7There's a difference between protesting in a public area and showing up uninvited to a private convention ("Crash the convention")
- Herkimer56, on 07/17/2008, -1/+4Don't discourage them. It will be fun watching them get hauled away by the cops. I'm going to TIVO the whole thing.
- allowners, on 07/17/2008, -2/+1@onetimer: To address the criminals, you have to show up at their party.
- Qtip42, on 07/17/2008, -3/+1onetimer reminds me of david frum.

- jodimcmullen, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6Damnit I just really dread being tasered.
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/16/2008, -3/+4That's what the fascists want. Your dread. Don't give in to dread.
- goph, on 07/16/2008, -1/+7Funny, you don't see republicans trying to crash the DNC.
- TamaraFaye, on 07/17/2008, -4/+0Republicans have to worry enough about their own party.
- poiuytrewq44, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1We're crashing that too.
- deeboe, on 07/16/2008, -10/+7I live in St. Paul and hope you idiots can control yourselves if you do come here. This is a good city and we dont need the likes of you bothering us.
- VigRoco, on 07/16/2008, -2/+4OH NO! NOT THE REPUBLICANS!
Lets all support the other completely incorruptible party!
OH wait, there isn't one. Let's just jump on the Ron Paul bandwagon instead.- yellowcakewalk, on 07/16/2008, -4/+4You also have Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader to choose from, if you want to avoid the Demorepublicancrats.
- sk11, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Vote for none of the above. ;)
- Fangsinmybeard, on 07/16/2008, -3/+8I think the RNC will be crashed by the stock market crashing in late July.
- oMeSSiaHo, on 07/17/2008, -1/+3I'm pretty sure they are gathering to elect the person the people chose to represent their party. If that is global conquest then...well...yeah.
On one hand civil protest is a great thing, on the other if these people think the Republicans are the cause of all our problems they are dumb. To blame our ills on a single party (republicans of course deserve some blame) is shortsighted naive and will blind you to the many other issues. To all going have fun, you arent going to help the world but I'm sure you'll have a great time stroking your ego.
Your energy is better spent elsewhere. - chadsterrr, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3I hope this entire fiasco is a huge, huge embarrassment for a lot of people.

4th Amendment Hit Squad from http://www.bluetidalwave.com/2008/07/fisa-hit-list ...
On Wednesday July 9, 2008 our U.S. Constitution, specifically the 4th amendment was officially torched by the U.S. government. The Democratic leadership in control of the 110th Congress lighted the definitive match to burn up every citizen's civil liberties while a giddy unpopular President George Bush and his highly voter despised rubber stamp Republican caucus held the gas can in bravado glee.
The world would be a better place if Bush was as an effective leader of the globe as he is at whipping the Congressional Democrats in legislative battles.
Twenty One Senate Democrats voted to give final approval today to broadening the government’s spy powers and providing legal immunity for the phone companies that took part in the illegal Bush wiretapping program. - SaintDogbert, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and act like a massengill of douches.
