The same "redevelopment" is taking place in Toronto's Regent Park public housing projects with more than 20,000 of the city's poor eventually being displaced. Similarily in New Orleans, city council makes no promises to care for the most vulnerable - and the situation is exacerbated by the unplanned destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Politicians are traeting it as a windfall opportunity to eject the poor (and mostly black) residents.
