- Shigatsu, on 12/01/2007, -9/+76All the people labeling the Ron Paul supporters as spammers, I hope you get as upset over this ***** as you did a few digg articles talking about paul. Unless of course your a bunch of bias ***** (ie: Its ok if we do it, but not you etc...)
Anyone who votes twice + sucks it makes the rest look bad, doesn't matter if you support RP, or any other candidate. Integrity people... - inactive, on 12/01/2007, -3/+66Going with 10 friends to support Ron Paul, and having the guy in front of me (1/20th or so of Mitt's support, including his 4 or 5 sons) vote for Mitt Romney with twice as many votes as the entire party with me was a bit frustrating.
This is why we must know the difference between men of integrity that would enter politics to defend us all from tyranny, and men who believe that legality = morality. Parasites that enter politics, with no interest other then what they can procure for themselves. It was politics. Politics of a man who is willing to do anything if he can twist the letter of the law into even temporarily supporting his agenda.
This reminds me of one of the first debates when Mitt Romney said something like he would consider either nuclear preemptive strikes, or torture, if his lawyers said he could get away with it. Ron Paul called him out, and said that was unbelievable.
What is unbelievable is that these people running for president, on national tv, ***** all over The Constitution, and the principles this nation was founded on, and not only aren't accused of treason, but are applauded by our national "news" agencies.
Wake up, people. This isn't right. Don't accept it when you're told this isn't news!! - theantirobot, on 12/01/2007, -4/+51How can the mitt people think this is alright?
- obliviousfool, on 12/01/2007, -5/+43To hell with these straw polls! The money goes to the RNC and you KNOW they aren't going to give any of that money back to Paul! Just go to Ron's site and give him your money instead of wasting it on this garbage.
- SiNN4R, on 12/01/2007, -0/+38Voter fraud in Florida? Thats unpossible.
- fishwhistle, on 12/01/2007, -1/+39I was there and saw it first hand it really sux the big one
- fishwhistle, on 12/01/2007, -3/+34one woman said this is just politics
- reeder, on 12/01/2007, -2/+30We need to organize a civil suit against these bastards. How dare they subvert an election! Action must be taken!
- Kallius, on 12/01/2007, -1/+16Voters who knowingly support this sort of behaviour are just as guilty as their candidates.
- undergroundrr, on 12/01/2007, -2/+16This video made me tear up with frustration. I never cry. This needs to be the top of the political news everywhere.
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -1/+13This video is unlike the other ones. I assume you haven't watched it with a comment like that. Please watch.
- barktwiggs, on 12/01/2007, -1/+12On what grounds? Was this a legally binding election or poll? Did the poll organizers limit it to one ticket per voter?
I think you need to answer those questions before you consult any lawyers on this one. - orangefly, on 12/01/2007, -1/+11if another idiot gets elected there will be a lot of people moving into mommies basement....you people have ruined our economy....we need a bumper sticker that says "if you voted for bush you owe my children an apology"....
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -2/+12Thank you. I am sure I am not the only one who was concerned about what you would, and wouldn't, care about.
I agree that Ron Paul could win every poll in existence, and it still wouldn't matter to you, and people like you. Believe it or not, others may see it differently. Like the ones who lie to make sure that the truth about Ron Paul's support doesn't come to light. Why do you suppose it matters to them?
You don't have to worry your little head about it, though. It doesn't concern you. It might seem as though ignorance is bliss, but something motivated you to write that. Maybe it's not so blissful after all. - inactive, on 12/01/2007, -10/+19Mitt Romney has proven time and again the dirty tactics he will employ and how he buys straw polls. The man is pure scum. Only one answer to all these scum.
RON PAUL!
http://ronpaul2008.com - fromonesource, on 12/01/2007, -1/+10This isn't just about them voting twice! PEOPLE WHO QUESTIONED THIS WERE THREATENED AND INTIMIDATED! RON PAUL VOTES WERE SWITCHED TO MITT ROMNEY VOTES!
- kedohmen, on 12/01/2007, -0/+9yeah, and you can only vote ONCE -if it is the law or not, morally it is the right thing to do, and a bunch of Christian Right Wing, nutjobs should know what morals are, right?
- syroncoda, on 12/01/2007, -4/+12all republicans (cept ron paul but i consider him different from most people) are liars and cheats.
- Skod, on 12/01/2007, -0/+7This needs to get out, this needs to be heard. This is unacceptable, the straw polls do indeed count for public awareness and people who play by the rules should at LEAST get a fair chance. Spread this video far and wide, hopefully people will be let known about this disgusting corruption.
- AntBing, on 12/01/2007, -1/+8It's sad, but politics has become more about winning rather than doing what's correct.
- obliviousfool, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6I think the argument here is that the press reports on these things. They'll give a total of 500 votes to Romney when he should have gotten 50. This affects national opinion. Popularity fuels popularity even if the original popularity is just an illusion.
- synthpop, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6how long before Republicans adapt this vote buying system to the presidential elections?
- SeventhSon, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6It's not just republicans. It's politicians in general.
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -1/+7The NRA sold their souls when they abandoned the Libertarian Party to back George Bush. They showed their true, unprincipled, colors. I, for one, am through with the NRA.
- barktwiggs, on 12/01/2007, -1/+7I've watched it. It just sounds like the Ron Paul supporters should be upset about the local Republican fundraising methods. More tickets = more money. Save your energy for the caucases and primaries. Those are the ones that will count.
- Todamont, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6Too bad the real elections are rigged too...
- barktwiggs, on 12/01/2007, -2/+8Wow, you have some pretty thin skin. This is just standard procedure for a 'money-raising' straw poll.
- AnarkeIncarnate, on 12/01/2007, -0/+6You may not agree with his political beliefs, but that is counter to democracy. I support Ron Paul, and I approve this haranguing.
- tehbishop, on 12/01/2007, -3/+8nice - guess you didn't hear the part that when those first tickets were sold out they put another 1000 out there to be bought. Guess that "buying up a percentage" doesn't really work when they sell more after the first ones are all sold out. Also you forgot the 1 person 1 vote part ... Good ol college try though. Cry more n00b.
- SaxxonPike, on 12/01/2007, -1/+6I could've dealt without the blue screens, honestly. But this should be seen all the same
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -2/+7this poll seems to be of no consequence of all, but the video shows the difference between Paul and Romney supporters. Paul's supporters all looked lively, bright, and together, while Romney's are old and withered and smug. man these rightwing twits will vote for anyone who promises to be a steamrolling denying bully.
- JoeVet, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4Corruption in Florida GOP politics? Isn't this how we got Bush in the first place? Raise your hand if you haven't learned this lesson yet!
- DietRitePure0, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4Remember, remember, the 7th of November.....2000.
- skews13, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4voting inproprieties in the state of florida.say it ain't so.as far as i'm concerned the state of florida has forfieted it's right to participate in the vote.is there anybody in that state with more brains than my daughters hamster?
- OldJesser, on 12/01/2007, -1/+5True, but I think the fear is (especially with election machines) that this will become par for the course during primaries and elections.
- redlion145, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4What difference does it make? You have to BUY a ticket to vote, so where is the veracity of the poll?
- D3koy, on 12/01/2007, -1/+5even at 10x he shouldn't be getting much more than "100 votes"
- MaximusPryme, on 12/01/2007, -1/+4I think he meant because they were voting more than once, not because they support Romney.... although, supporting Romney is comparable to a crime.
- Barman, on 12/01/2007, -1/+4this gets good about 4:20 in .
- Skod, on 12/01/2007, -1/+4Think about what you just said for a second. Any ticket she doesn't sell doesn't go into the total so it really doesn't skew anything except the total amount of available tickets and from what I've read it doesn't look like the tickets sold out by any means. Oh and BTW, Romney's people not only did the same exact thing, they also gave the tickets out in stacks for FREE. At least RP's people were following both the rule of "one man, one vote" but also for the individual person to pay for their one vote, which is how a straw poll works. Now this is just speculation, but I have a feeling that if the poll ran out of tickets as a whole she would probably have sold them to non RP supporters just as a gesture of good faith. However, seeing as one man was GIVEN 80 tickets, I really don't think they were remotely close to a ticket shortage. Please, learn to THINK before you speak.
- NidStyles, on 12/01/2007, -2/+5Just to straighten a lot of folks out on the whole Ron Supporter's living in Mom's basement. I'm 27 year's old. I haven't lived with my mother since I was 15. I'm currently active duty Army. Not many soldier's really pay attention to politics. We really don't have time these days for obvious reason's.
Of the troop's that do, Ron Paul is the clear favorite. He make's sense to us, and that's a first for a politician for us. If there's any group of citizen's that the public should listen to right now, it's the soldier's, and we like Ron Paul he sees the war for what it is. He see's us for what we are, and not what the government rate's us as.
I'm on my way out, I have less than two year's left on this contract, and I'm scheduled to deploy to Iraq in early 2009. I don't want to risk losing life and limb for eight months that I will have left on my obligation. I'm done, I'm tired, far away from my home, and my family. I have seen my Fiance three weeks out of the past two years. I haven't seen my family in more than two years. I have been home three weeks in the past two year's. I have friend's that have been deployed three out of the past four year's, and for what? So some other people can have what we had to work so hard for ourselves, and we are just giving it to them? Democracy is not free, nothing is free. You have to work for everything that you want, and they need their time on the field just like we had our's. The time is now for them to stand on their own.
I want to go home for good, and I want to be alive, and in one piece. I've lost enough friend's, and time in this cr@p. My family want's me there now, and Fiance want's me there for our future.
If I'm able to I'm voting Ron Paul. I'll write his name in on the ballot. - oracleofmist, on 12/02/2007, -0/+3aparently you weren't there talking to the Romney supporters. Don't get me wrong, some of them were nice folks but a few were a bit...well...they had a few marbles missing and you can hear what was left rattling around. One guy there was ranting about how he would nuke Iran the very chance he got. I'm not saying his views were representative of the whole party and Every candidate has those people. It is just that, they find one or a small few of supporters who are a bit out there or crazy and its a big deal, 1 out of 20 that were there was crazy and no one cares. Funny thing is I'm not a math major but 5-10 crazy ron paul supporters out of 600+ that were present vs. 1 out of 20 romney supporters seems to have a larger portion of the pie.....
- thumbtack, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3For some reason fraud with electronic voting machines are BREAKING NEWS. It sucks but what do you want.
- Matt2k, on 12/01/2007, -1/+4A straw poll is the equivalent of me putting a vote widget on my website. Are you going to sue someone for stuffing the ballot?
- forcedfx, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3"I don't know what a straw poll is" - Then look it up!
- spyd3rweb, on 12/01/2007, -0/+2bury abuse, start using reddit.
- BelXul, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2So you have any evidence to back up your claim? I have seen more evidence of Paul supporters showing they could not rig some of those polls (specifically referring to the phone in polls after the Republican debates on Fox) to defend themselves against Hannity's accusation that they are repeatedly voting for Paul to skew the results.
I don't care who people are voting for... Romney, Giuliani, even Ron Paul. If you vote more than once, you deserve to get your ass kicked. If you run the poll and defend multiple voters, you deserve to get dragged behind a car. - barktwiggs, on 12/01/2007, -1/+3So, are you saying that in order for me to not be noob, I should be content with the same news story being posted several times a day by people who want to spam their agenda onto front page as much as they can?
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -2/+4I know it doesn't suit your agenda, but keep going with it...
She left with 100.
I know you idiots think you're making a point, but each of the candidates representatives locally had a chance to purchase a large block to make them available to their fellow supporters. When the Ron Paul supporters who were going to vote did, she was left with 100. After the 20-25 Romney sons/supporters voted once, they voted an additional 850 times with additionally printed tickets specifically so they could do so.
If you want to accuse this woman, who again didn't go vote with the additionally purchased 100 tickets she ate, even though we could all see what Romney's people were doing with their tickets (btw, she didn't give them away to anyone who would support Ron Paul, like Romney's people did. She sold them.), if she wanted to mathematically cripple the ability of the other candidates support, she could have purchased 601. The GOP of FL must have thought it was pretty reasonable amount (though they were wrong, given that there was over 1000 Ron Paul supporters there, and about 50 combined of the other candidates). - HereticXx, on 12/02/2007, -0/+2Of course they didn't break any rules when the rules where changed to fit the field. You sound like a communist Dan. Oh, and they didn't pay for the tickets, the Romney campaign did. Pinko Commie pieces of trash!!
