Congressman admits Democrats misled about ending War

We really in this last election, when I say we...the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn't say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn't true."

    So the Democrats in Congress admit that they lied to the American people... Where are the placards and the subpoenas and the Congressional hearings?

    I guess we don't do that kind of thing in Congress. We investigate steroid use in baseball and the time-travelling weather-controlling anti-Christ Karl Rove.

  • badqat, on 05/23/2008, -0/+3Actually, the democratic controlled congress has two choices at hand to stop the Iraq "war". They could repeal the legislation that enabled Bush to engage Iraq or they could end all funding for it. They could even do both.

    So I'd submit that he's actually lying NOW, not that they lied before, unless they never intended to end Iraq in the first place.

    I think it just goes to show that power is the real goal...of both parties. Power is what is important, not what they accomplish with that power.
