- ganjadude4391, on 10/12/2007, -9/+79how about when you republicans "wasted" our time when Clinton got a BJ??
its a waste of time when the charges are real (and important to the running of our nation)
but what Clinton does in his bedroom (or in the oval office) is important???
MAKE UP YOUR MIND REPUBLICANS!!!!
PS I do NOT like referring to a past presidents "mistakes" to try and justify anothers, but for this comment it works - jodokast, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26@doctorfungi,
I would rather have my president lie about getting a blowjob than lie about things that actually matter. - azAZ09, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I love it when Condi testifies. Some of the Bushies greatest hits.
Who can forget such top 40 favorites as "I believe the title was 'Bin Laden Determined To Attack Inside the United States." Or, do you remember early in her career when she brought us "We need a common enemy to unite us." Or, maybe you prefer her cover of an old talking point "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud."
ahhhh--hits that bring back memories... - tehbishop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13This country needs an enema.
- gatekeeper50, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Sorry tex68, but the GOP and the Beelzebush administration have not been held to account for ruining the government of the US. Although it took six years to get a Dem majority in Congress it is time for this investigation to begin; that is what this is --- a beginning of the real investigation. When Waxman and Conyers and Kucinich finally get to the bottom of all of the most heinous of crimes perpetrated on the American public and the world there won't be enough jail cells in Washington to hold all the thugs. Rice was National Security Adviser during the time about which Waxman wants to question her, and she is accountable to the public for her actions that falsely led this nation into the worst foreign policy mistake ever made by any administration in US history.
- itsme92, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12My dad used to like Condi Rice. He knows someone who roomed with her during college. When he heard her being interviewed on the radio, he listened to the interview expecting to be impressed with her work. But she said that like 40% of Iraqi's have potable water, and then when further interviewed, she said she meant 40% have the *potential* for potable water, he was disguisted. He currently has zero respect for Condi Rice, and with good reason.
- scratt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Forget Condi, she's just a puppet anyway. The push to Impeach the satan that is Cheney, followed (and only followed so that Cheney can never become president) closely by Bush's impeachment, is the way to go... Good luck Democrats.
- laserblazer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12So she'll lie under oath and suffer no backlash.
Par for the course. - bicyclethief, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10time for the "don't recall" drinking game
- orbit1979, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Bring the bitch down along with the rest of the criminals in that administration.
/rant - ganjadude4391, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10nixon, while you may be right, I will admit i do not fully know what you are talking about to try and call you on it, I was referring to the Monica Lewinsky issue
remember the blue dress???
I am in no way trying to say Clinton was perfect, he was good not perfect - walkingdogs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9whats the over/under on "i don't recall"
- fredrated, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6From a state dept spokesman:
He added, "So she can be doing those things, or she can be testifying before Chairman Waxman's committee about an issue that has been about as investigated as an issue can possibly be investigated."
Let me fix that:
He added, "So she can be doing those things, or she can be testifying before Chairman Waxman's committee about an issue that has been about as white-washed as an issue can possibly be white-washed." - dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Your republican party appology accepted for wasting our nations time and money ( millions ) on an investigation into the private life of Clinton over a BJ is accepted. While the dems and some rep are eagerly working to expose this administration as what it is................which is more than a BJ. It includes murder of Iraqi's for the falsified ( nice word for LIE ) concerning WMD's in Irag. Which a teaspoon full has not been found in 4 years (Bush CIA puppets said it was there). Remember the yellow cake uranium from nigeria falsehood? Remember Condi "are we going to wait for the mushroom cloud?" Adamant claims Iraq was involved with 911 yet 911 commission found no connection. Apparently you have short term memory and are very manipulated by Faux (RNC) News.
- Corvidae, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I doubt she's up to it. It takes some serious amounts of incompetence to repeat "I don't recall" over 70 times in one sitting. Gonzo will easily win the incompetence crown unless they actually get Bush himself to testify.
- omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Uh....memo? What memo? Hey...I need shoes!"
- Hentez, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8One can only wish, this is true
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Amnesia machine.... Anyone else think BushCo got a copy of the memory-eraser machine from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?"
Right now, there are two young RNC staffers making out (poorly), while Condi just lays there like a vegetable, hooked up to the machine, dreaming of the good old days when she was simply ignoring intelligence reports instead of making up false ones... - isomorf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5We need to cut off the gangrenous limb of corruption that is the two-party system.
The republicans at present, and the Bush administration in particular, are no doubt thoroughly corrupt, and the don't give a ***** about the public good, but even if we got Bush and cronies out tomorrow, the system would not change as long as choice is limited to 1 corrupt & dumb republican or 1 not quite so corrupt & dumb democrat. - samcrut, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6What will be great is if the world starts to chill out because we're finally going after the top brass that's been poking them with a sharp pointed stick for so long.
I can see it now, "Since subpoenas went out, well, pretty much all terrorism has come to a halt." =) - 50Mhz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Condlieza can find time to shop for shoes, then she can certainly find time to answer questions about her job performance over the last 6 years.
- kenvsryu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I would sex her for freedom's sake.
- Harboggles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@tex68 "quite" wasting our time.
douche. - tehbored, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6This may not accomplish much, but at least putting pressure on the Bush Administration will make them think twice before trying something. Make those bastards feel the heat!
- Amnesia10, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The important thing that the Republican diggers do not seem to appreciate is that this is procedural. If the Administration does not have to appear to answer a single question then what is the point of The House of Representatives or Congress? That is the basis of democracy. Why vote?
In a democracy all the executive have to be accountable, without accountability you have a dictatorship. What would be the difference between George Bush and a middle east dictator? They would be treating the elected representatives the same way by ignoring them. - smackywentz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4We need a new political party. Everyone let us join together as one unified people and rise up and smote them.
- fredrated, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I prefer Kindasleazy Rice or, better yet, Kindasleazy Lice.
- rebopper, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6@tex68
"Quite waste our time on this BS!"
Huh? - ganjadude4391, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5ok guys we all know why he was impeached (lying under oath) and not for getting the BJ, but the facts are we are asking questions about our national security they were asking questions about a personal affair. i simply say that is what he was in trouble for and when you look at how stupid the investigation was to begin with, you see the bottom line is he got in trouble for getting a BJ. and thats all that matters, the bottom line.
the bottom line with bush is he is an incompetent puppet and he has been lying to us the entire time. the cards are falling and to claim that a few hours of her time are THAT important that she cannot try to defend herself
to use your type of scare tactics, "if you arent hiding anything why wont you come talk to us, if you just tell us the truth we will be much easier on you."
/rant - samcrut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'd think it's more like Men In Black. "Condi, before you go in there, one more thing..."[FLASH]"You don't remember anything."
- Soldan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yes put that overblown "expert" in Middle Eastern affairs on the stand.... seems to me that she must have got her doctorate out of a box of crackerjacks..
the problem is none of this is doing the business of the people...
congress should stick to its guns and just sit on the war funding bills...just like the last congress did with all the domestic stuff....such as HeadStart reauthorization. what would happen if the pentagon runs out of funds...they cant just leave troops with no food or money...they will have to withdraw plain and simple.. there is no progress in iraq.... when powerplant production and employment are at least to saddam levels.. I call BS - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5If she's too busy for testimony she may need to free up her schedule for a Contempt of Congress charge.
Whatever way BushCo wants to do this is fine with me. - jebudas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2On May 16th, 2002, Rice said “I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon. [No one predicted] that they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile,"[CBS News, 5/17/02].
But according to the bipartisan 9/11 commission report, “intelligence reports from December 1998 until the attacks said followers of bin Laden were planning to strike U.S. targets, hijack U.S. planes, and two individuals had successfully evaded checkpoints in a dry run at a New York airport,” [Reuters, 7/24/03].
More specifically, “White House officials acknowledged that U.S. intelligence officials informed President Bush weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks that bin Laden's terrorist network might try to hijack American planes.” [ABC News, 5/16/03]

Engrish. - ganjadude4391, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@ nixon
your statement about bush just burning paper, that does not work with monica
Once something is written on that paper, it becomes a record, it is no longer "just paper"
the words on that paper are valuable in any sense of a self respecting government.
Without a papertrail, we can not be sure what is being said is being done so try again nixon - dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@ shotline
Again let the chips fall where they may, either direction. Can you "simply" understand that. Let her testify and bring documents if they exonerate so be it and put an end to it. You are "presistent" enough to find a headline somewhere to post on here they were exonerated if the chips "fell her way." What are they and you afraid of? I guess all of the bad press left and right concerning Bush and Co dirty dealings. Where there is smoke there is fire. - dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@ shotline
Why isnt it their business and ours "we the people?" If nothing was done wrong, so be it life goes on. So whats the big deal? Lay the cards on the table and show the accusers up and that nothing was done wrong. When the lights are on the roaches go hide. Let the light shine on this administration and lets see who is right and wrong. Let the chips fall where they may. Nothing wrong nothing to fear and side step. - dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I am sure he has many assistants that are well capable to run things for a few hours in her place while she testifies. What would they do if she was sick a day or two. Someone would take care of business for her.
- InstantABS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2My very bitter words - she will lie, I am sure about it. Oath won't help...
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9"I was referring to the Monica Lewinsky issue"
Yeah, the issue was his testimony about Monica Lewinsky in a separate court proceeding. The blue dress/blow-job/cigar were simply evidence that his prior court testimony was "intentionally untruthful." Not that it really matters. I don't even think being intentionally untruthful in your testimony under oath is significant enough to warrant removal from office (which is what Congress eventually decided). However, Clinton was not impeached for illicit sexual acts. If Bush burned paperwork which proved he ordered the murder of a political opponent, you probably wouldn't let people get away with saying "it's not a crime to burn paper, Bush shouldn't have been impeached for that." In the same way, it's not fair to say Clinton was impeached for getting a blow-job. - nirvanix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Gotta love the Gonzales, "I don't recall remembering" line. He thinks that this sounds more palatable than just "I don't remember", but it really makes him appear like, well...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3She works for the people. She needs to answer to the people once in a while. Without us, she would just be another nappy-headed ho, spreading for oil companies.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"your statement about bush just burning paper, that does not work with monica
Once something is written on that paper, it becomes a record, it is no longer "just paper" "
I know, that's my point. Also, if you testify in court that you never really had any significant contact with a woman, and then evidence turns up that you in fact got a blowjob from this woman, it is no longer "just a blowjob." - tucsonwc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Dude you still owe the US taxpayer for wasting 50million on Ken Starr's fishing expedition to nowhere.
All because you guys wanted poppy to server another term. - dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2LOLOL yeah call em out on it like Clinton and lie and they have her by the short hairs.........LOLOLOL!!!!! @ you shotline.
Again nothing to hide let er rip and let the chips fall where they may. I used to work for a sheriff and when an investigation was completed correctly and we got an "atta boy" he let anyone ( family / victims and press ) look at the entire case file. When we dropped the ball by say failing to follow up on a lead or some other failure and he would be embarrassed the case was kept in an "open Investigation status" legally allowing that sheriff to refuse to let anyone see the file!!!!!! - despr8t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You Democrats down there are all nuts...we sit up here in Canada in our igloos and laugh our frozen asses off at you idiots and your WMDs BS and trying to impeach of Bush and Cheney.....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
your the laughing stock of the world hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha - mos6507, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Amnesia? Condi's tactic is to just smile arrogantly.
- Liam76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ dawg,
It isn't a matter of her missing two days. she will have to prepare for this for a solid week. They will grill her on every single announcement she has ever made in regards to WMD in Iraq, so she will have to go back and remember everything she has ever said, and the justification for saying it at that time. All this when it was recommended that she be building cooperation in the Middle east.
The fact is she has agreed to sworn affidavids, or sending junior (less busy) representatives, but they want a circus. They want to get their names in the paper, and faces on TV that is it. - laserblazer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Thanks for mocking yourself on the Internet, fool.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3condi is a goddess and shall be our 1st black & 1st female prez!
